One fic I don’t see talked about enough is “Drink it to the Bitter End” by BattleAngel on ao3.

Like, it’s so good???? And while I personally can’t have a say, I’ve heard a lot of others talk about how well the Dissociative Identity Disorder representation is written. That, with the character writing, trauma writing, and over all story makes it such a phenomenal fan fiction???

For people wanting to know more:

It’s a Izuku-centric fic with platonic/qpr tododeku, parental Aizawa, vigilante Deku, and Eri.

There are a LOT of tw’s tho, such as r*pe/non-con (not descriptively written, but very present), body mutilation, ped0philia, human trafficking, suicide/suicidal thoughts (attempted, but not successfully), physical, emotional, and mental torture, death/murder, gore, sensory deprivation, insanity, and probably a few more I’ve forgotten about.

Basically, All for One is Izuku’s dad, and kinda uses him as a puppet. Pushes him towards vigilante-ism at 9 yrs old. Izuku ends up with DID (or, a quirk that works like dnd(stockpiling souls)). He still gets OfA but literally doesn’t know where it came from due to AfO/DID induced amnesia. Each alter has their own quirk from OfA (ex. Izuku has black whip, one has the OG strength, another has Danger Sense, you get the gist). He doesn’t find out about this quirk until after the USJ tho.

Basically BASICALLY, Dad For One Izuku has trauma and DID, chaos ensues.

Not in pez. I doubt I’ll ever continue this universe past the ending point of pez, but I do have a way I imagine them getting together in the future.

They don’t get together until after the final battle with AfO. There’s a moment in the aftermath while the dust is still settling where no one is certain if Izuku survived. He and AfO had fought until the air burned with energy, until the sky glowed green with lightning. It ended with them crashing back to the earth like fallen angels, and then the entire world falling silent.

There’s a crater where they landed, and no one climbs out from it.

Mirio’s the first one to rush into the battlefield. His body moved before he could think. He screams Izuku’s name until he’s hoarse, and Aizawa has to restrain him before he tries to climb into the crater himself.

That’s the moment Todoroki realizes that he wants to tell Izuku he’s in love with him. The moment where he’s not certain if it’s too late.

Izuku survives, of course. He clambers out of the crater, falls to his knees, and gives Mirio a small nod. Then, he throws one fist in the air, and entire world knows that he won.

Mirio and Aizawa are helping him out of the carnage when Todoroki stumbles up to them. Cameras are filming, the entire world is watching, their entire class is swarming next to them, and Todoroki just can’t wait any longer. He waited too long as it was.

He tells Izuku he’s in love with him. He’s sorry. He knows Izuku doesnt feel the same way and he doesn’t want anything to change between them. But he’s been in love with him since they were kids and he needs Izuku to know.

And Izuku stares at him a beat and says. I’ve been in love with you since we were kids.

And Todoroki says. What.

And Izuku says. Yeah. Since we were like. Fifteen.

And Todoroki says that he’s been in love with Izuku since they were fifteen.

And Izuku is like. No way.

And Todoroki says: “I thought you were in love with Iida.”

And Izuku says: “I thought you were in love with Iida.”

And Iida, who is also there, says: “WHAT”

Everyone is exceedingly lucky that they are all so relieved that Izuku did not die in a terrible passion because otherwise Iida would kill them both with his bare hands. How could they have both subjected him to years of completely unrestrained pining for one another because they both wrongly assumed that the other was in love with HIM.

Izuku, as if it were obvious: you were the obvious choice

Todoroki, also as if it were obvious: anyone would be in love with you Iida

The rest of the class: *nods, murmurs of acknowledgment*

Iida: *has to go lie down in one of the ambulances*

After that, Todoroki and Izuku are officially together. They are immediately subjected to the rest of the class unloading several years worth of shit onto them for taking this long to figure it out.

This is a mistake on the class’s part, because they are the biggest assholes around. After two days of being teased for how slow they were, they announce their engagement. Every single time someone tries to explain to them it’s absolutely fucking insane to get engaged after two days of dating, they double down say, “I’m sorry, I thought we were doing this too slow” and insist this isn’t just to get back at everyone for being assholes about how long it took them.

This is a lie. They are absolutely faking the engagement and doing this to get back at everyone.

Iida argues with them for several hours and then has to go lie down.

Anyway they completely forget they did this, date for a lovely year and a half, and Todoroki proposes to Izuku at a tasteful dinner in the countryside following several weeks of psychological warfare because both realized the other was going to propose and spent several weeks sabotaging the other’s attempts so that way they could beat them to the punch. Todoroki ended up winning after recruiting All Might, Inko, and Eri into his scheme, which Izuku insists was an underhanded move in between bouts of crying from joy.

They announce their engagement to their friends and families like it’s somehow a new development, which makes them remember that they were already officially engaged and have been for years. This reveals that their engagement was, in fact, a sham meant to get back at everyone for how much shit they gave them, which makes Iida spend several hours alternating between congratulating them, crying a bit, telling them how genuinely happy he is for them, and shouting at them for faking an engagement and then forgetting about it. And then he has to go lie down.

They have a very lovely wedding that absolutely everyone cries at, and that has so many heroes in attendance that Japan had to fly in heroes from other countries to handle the shortfall in labor. Mirio is Izuku’s best man and Momo is Todoroki’s, and they’ve already agreed have to pick a venue with an extra large space for the altar because the entire class is in their wedding party.

They wanted to have their parents walk them down the aisle, but there’s obvious issues with Endeavor. Izuku has Inko and All Might walking him down, and Todoroki was going to just have his Mom do it alone, until Iida barreled in asserting his rights as Todoroki’s teen dad. It wasn’t easy but by god he raised them well and he’s earned this. He labored as the dad friend he agonized and he is owed this by right.

Iida cries openly while giving Todoroki away. It’s very dramatic.

Iida, sobbing in the row reserved for parents of the grooms, holding hands with Inko who is also sobbing: I’m sorry, it’s just, they grow up so fast

Dabi, sitting in the row behind him, here because Fuyumi threatened his life if he didn’t come, with open disgust: you’re the same goddamn age.

There’s a line out the door to give speeches. None of them were planned for, save Mirio and Momo, but no one tried to stop them either. Everyone had something to say.

They live in a small, cozy house, and they get a dog and a cat, and the dog is mostly Izuku’s and the cat is mostly Todoroki’s, and their couch is rarely empty. There’s so many people who love them to fill it. Izuku is always on his bullshit, and Todoroki is never more than a step behind, and Iida spends the rest of his life blaming them for his impending grey hairs, but he’s always right there with them.

They have all the love they never thought they’d have, and they’re happy together. For the rest of their lives, they’re happy.

Bakugou's Super Secret Support Engineer is finished! I feel like I just posted it, and now it's already done. 🤧 If you haven't already, please consider giving it a shot!

It's a hard fic for me to describe. It's basically a story about love, sexuality, and self-acceptance disguised as an Izuku Support Course AU, lol. I kind of wrote it as an outlet for my own feelings about being demisexual.

For those who dislike Bakugou, his character development here is quite a bit different than in canon, so perhaps you'll like him? Idk. It's hard for me to say. Regardless, he's not the main character, despite his name being in the title. The focus is heavily tododeku with some kiribaku happening in the background.

Fair warning, it gets faaaiirly smutty in the later chapters. If you decide to read it, I hope you'll enjoy it! 🙇‍♀️

You loved the park. You lit up at even the idea of going down to the park. You loved the slides, trying to climb up the small rock wall, and your favorite was the swings! Your dads never objected to this though, usually taking days off when the other was working to be with you. Your dads loved taking you to the park though, they loved how you smiled as you played.

Shoto and Izuku sit on a nearby bench watching you collect leaves from the ground in your hands. You run over to your dads, immediately handing off your pile of leaves to Izuku.

“Why, thank you” He chuckles watching you run back onto the playground. “More?” You ask, leaning down to grab more. “No, sweetie, I have enough leaves” He laughs watching you walk over to the slide before pointing up at it.

Shoto gets up, going over to place you on the slide. You were still too young to climb up the ladder onto the slide. “You want papa to catch you?” He asks, placing you at the top of the slide.

They caught you as you got to the end of the slide as they were worried about you landing in the wood chips and accidentally hurting yourself.

You hum, before sliding down giggling as you do so before Izuku catches you. “Shoto?” A girl in her teens calls out, two friends with her. They thought they could let down their guard a bit as the playground was secluded but it seems not. He turns around to face them, Izuku holding you, keeping your face against his shoulder as he leaves to go to the car.

“It’s really you. Can we get a picture?” She asks, star struck by seeing a top pro-hero in real life. “Not today, it’s a bad time” He says flatly, he was never one to be incredibly welcoming to fans. Especially outside of his hours.

Luckily Izuku pulled up at the right time, you peaking up to the window from your car seat. You almost threw a fit about having to leave the park so suddenly but Izuku promised you ice cream. “Uhm, have a nice day” Shoto says to the fans before leaving to get into the car.

They were very serious about protecting your identity so they couldn’t believe they weren’t more careful even if the playground was quiet and secluded. You peak up at the window, waving at the fans as Izuku drives off.

They only hoped that they wouldn’t talk about seeing you with other people. They had seen rumors like that lead to paparazzi being involved and interview questions about their home lifes with other heros.

Perhaps they should get you a playground or play set for the yard, then you would be safer.

What I find so charming about most Midoriya ships is how it's basically just teenagers in love. There's no "I'll kill for you" or "I'll die for you", it's just two high school students being wholesome friends.

Like, the most extreme Midoriya ship that I can think of (minus bakudeku which is a whole other can of worms that I refuse to ever open) is tododeku and even then it's mostly because of how they become friends. But after the UA sports festival, they basically just become wholesome friends. Some of my favourite tododeku moments are just them hanging out and being goofy friends.

And then of course there's izuocha, which is like...the most mundane pairing ever (I say this in the best way possible of course)?? Like, sure, some of their moments become more extreme as the story itself raises its stakes, but at their core izuocha is literally just your typical high school love story. They're literally just children in love and I adore that.

This logic pretty much applies to any other Midoriya pairing that I can think of (again minus bakudeku). Shindeku? Kamideku? Kirideku? Serodeku? Midotsuyu? Ojideku (severely underrated pairing btw)? They can all be reduced down to "idiot teenagers being friends/in love" and I love it so much.

This might be an unpopular take but all these "us against the world" and "I'm willing to kill anyone, including myself, to save you" dynamics can get pretty extreme and tiring when oversaturated. Sometimes I just want some simple straightforward dynamics, y'know? Like, I'm a sucker for angst but sometimes the most compelling angst comes from the most realistic situations.

Shigaraki stealing the child from Tododeku in every way he can. Sometimes even going out of his way to cradle his little on in his own den with his mate. He would break into every new den the two made a bit further away so that Shigaraki won't reach them. But he does anyway.

Shigaraki being pissed and going away in the middle of the night just to return smiling when he presents their little one to Dabi ince again. And Dabi just sighing but not saying anything about it since he loves the child as much as Tomura.

Yep, Shigaraki is a little shit when it comes to that. Deku and Todoroki could move to the ends of the earth and Shiggy would still find them.

3/10 visits end in a scrap fight between Deku and Shiggy while Todoroki is holding Y/N like a annoyed and tired parent.

Dabi mildly endorses Shigaraki’s behavior, mostly for shits and giggles. He’ll make a one off comment about how their nest feels so empty without Reader and Shiggy will be like: BRB, gonna go get our bby.

i think why i love and will never let tododeku die (in my eyes) is because i feel like that relationship is so balanced. both characters have experienced trauma, both need understanding partners. both need to examine their feelings and get in touch with their feminine sides. we see izuku does that for shoto at the sports fest. i think shoto could do the same for izuku (canonically or only in headcanon, it doesn't matter, the personality traits are there).

i know if izuku is allowed to be queer in canon, he'll most likely be paired with katsuki based on what's happening in the story atm. but, while i love what's happening with those two in terms of katsuki apologizing and them reconciling their relationship, it still feels a little off romantically. it feels more platonic (to me at least). but that does not mean it's any less important than a romantic relationship. i think platonic bakudeku is super necessary for both characters. they need each other.

but romantically, i just see tododeku making more sense.

(this is from a relationship anarchy perspective. i understand society views romantic/sexual relationships as the pinnacle of life, but i disagree. i think certain platonic/queerplatonic relationships can be as much/more important than romantic/sexual relationships. so that's what i mean when i say platonic bakudeku is important.)
