oh you could have stephanie come back later like jason and damian post bruce's "death" and she could be pissed and ok maybe she didn't expect him to kill Black Mask but this asshole immediately put tim back in the suit and just didn't seem to react to the fact she "died" at all

(linked post) OOOOH YEAH yeah, that would be so fun! i always love anything that explores Steph's feelings about her death and how Bruce handled it, especially if it puts her on the same side as Jason. i think it's fun if she's an al Ghul in this AU, but also fun if Jason and Damian just. *steal her*. convince her that they're More Right than Dick and Tim and that they're just as disillusioned by Bruce as she is. she's their sister, literally or figuratively. because she understands what it feels like to be cast aside by Bruce.

meanwhile, Cass is devout to the symbol of Batman, making her firmly on Dick and Tim's side. could this lead to StephCass but of an incredibly fucked up variety? yes. i love the difference of the two sides of siblings being entirely whether or not they felt "accepted" by Bruce. it adds so much to the rivalry and the eventual romances. they're either going to tear each other apart or fuck. probably both.

Hmmm. Thinking… I don’t want Jason to have been a silent observer? Like. I *don’t* want him to have been a ghost & haunting the Manor/trailing after any of the bats. He was enjoying his afterlife before \*hand waves* knocked him into Tim’s body.

Rather than being transported into Jason’s body (dead) or to Jason’s afterlife (though Tim busting out of the afterlife could be potentially amusing) though, Tim ends up wandering around as a ghost, and due to… idk, the tether he still has to his body? Their new link? Jason is the only one who can see him <3

Not sure if Jason and Tim don’t tell Bruce because they don’t wanna get his hopes up or because they can’t or for other reasons, but. I think I want it to stay between the two of them as much as possible.

I want to be fairly easy for them to fool Bruce as well. I’m not sure if I want him to be neutral, more pleased by “Tim’s” behavior, or disappointed by it tho 🤔 Dick is less easy to fool but mostly in Bludhaven so they can avoid him. Steph is also harder to fool and man Jason is NOT about keeping Steph out of the know or like. Most of the decisions involving Steph.

I think it would be Too Much to also involve Young Justice/the Titans but ALSO I do think that would be fun. Maybe in a different idea.

Anyway. I actually don’t *really* wanna focus on Tim’s interpersonal relationships that much except maybe as a side thing—despite how fun Jason-Steph interactions would be. I think I want to focus more on… I guess the bitterness of Jason finding himself alive again. Going to school, hanging out with Tim’s civilian friends, going out as Robin again. Seeing how much freedom Tim has as Robin and actually getting to (sort of) run his own cases. (Not really though, because Tim is there & definitely giving his input / bossing him around before they learn to cooperate.)

Lots of friction at first I think. Like as much as I want them to get along I feel like it would be rough. Maybe things could look optimistic at first, before Jason gets the opportunity to really process/confront his grief over dying. And then I do want there to both be feelings of inadequacy for Tim being a “better” Robin but ALSO I want Jason to find him lackluster in areas—and Bruce as Batman now lackluster in places!

And I want Tim’s feelings to be complicated too. He had his own preconceived ideas as to what Jason would be like based on things Alfred, Dick, & Bruce have said, or implied, or spoken around, and based on Jason’s old case files he read. Getting to know Jason the person is different and it’s exciting at first, until the grief starts hitting Jason & he becomes more sullen / grumpy.

I also want the details of Jason’s death to have been somewhat mysterious to Tim, which I think is canon tbh, but I want Jason to end up clearing them up, whether because Tim asked, or said something insensitive, or because Jason just burst out about it.

I want the Joker to come up. Maybe he busts out or Batman deals with him or maybe Tim & Jason end up having to deal with him? That would probs be too much. That could be the catalyst for. A *bunch* of stuff.

Hmm… I *do* want things to start to improve by the end. They’re working together better, Jason is processing, they’re starting to consider more seriously where to go from here. I want Tim to be considering smth noble and self sacrificing like letting Jason have his body permanently. (I do think he’s more optimistic than that; I think he’s going to try & make plans to bring Jason back so that BOTH of them can live? BUT I think he’s keeping ‘let Jason become Tim Drake’ as a solid back up plan.)

ANYWAY. Just as things are starting to look somewhat up—they don’t have a solution but they’re doing better and are more hopeful about the future—something happens. Maybe Superboy Prime’s Punch, or maybe that’s what caused it and it’s Jason’s body getting dunked in the Lazarus Pit that pulls his ghost back to himself. Either way <3 They’re now separated

And. Hm. I kind of want to go angsty and not have Jason remember anything <3 Maybe he can get his memories back later, but otherwise… Lost Days & UTRH proceed as in canon~

The first Fall in High Reaches’ territory strikes.

It’s a bloodbath.

They lose a fifth of their forces to fatalities. Another quarter to injuries that ground pairs. The only reason it isn’t worse is that halfway through the Fall, when the Weyrleader dies, Justith and Bruce break out of the gold wing to Between high above everyone and broadcast orders.

That failure to protect their region hurts as much as the casualties do.

When it’s all over, everyone who can stand and isn’t attending the wounded gathers in the Bowl. Bruce, his own injuries treated with numbweed and bandage, stands on what used to be his mother’s weyrledge to address them.

There will be no interim Weyrleader. There will be no Bronze Council.

High Reaches will follow Ista’s lead, with the Senior Goldrider in charge.

And Bruce will never allow this slaughter to happen again.

Tim's fingers are caressing the scar from when Jason has his throat slit. There's an intense expression on his face as he murmurs.

"You've fantasised about killing me with your hands?"

Jason feels like he's being opened up, laying bare like that, passive but not submissive; not yet. Despite the danger in Tim's eyes, the feeling of fingertips on his pulse, he can't help but be honest.

"Guns lack intimacy." And killing you is too personal, too intimate, to use anything but my hands, goes unsaid.

"Only you get to kill me, then. In return, I want the same deal. Your life is mine. You don't get to die unless it's by my hand."

You know, I love Batfam as like an actual family but also I don’t really understand how people can look at the actual comics Batfam and think “yeah, these people are definitely family” like… at BEST they resemble something like martial siblings in wuxia novels. Sometimes they’re close enough to genuinely be brothers/sisters in all but blood but sometimes they’re also just “yeah we trained under the same sect and have a shared teacher but one of us has a life long grudge against him”

How I'd like to headcanon Bruce reacting to finding out about Jaytim

I'm a strange woman I love all the platonic fluff about batfamily and good batdad Bruce Wayne. But I also love all the angsty drama and complications that come with Jaytim happening in the batfamily. Bruce adopts a lot of kids. A lot of them are teenagers, and they didn't really grow up with totally normal childhoods. I'm surprised this wasn't a drama plot point in the comics canon before. Though I don't read comics so I could be wrong. But the point is I love both and seeing Bruce's reaction would be both funny and interesting but I love to headcanon he would accept it. Because again my batman is a good dad who loves his kids.

Just Jaytim domesticity that they first thought was platonic. Jason making dinner for them both, humming away in the kitchen with a pink frilly apron that says kiss the cook and Tim watching him on the counter feeling love slowly blossoming in his chest. Tim sleeping on Jason's lap while the latter reads a book and whispers the love-filled lines of the book to his dozing companion.

2-For-1 Deal

(A prompt)

One boy goes into the Pit.

Two boys come out.

One: the original mindless boy pushed in, not so mindless anymore but now angry, memories regained.

Two: the surprise boy, fully conscious and aware, but confused with memories wiped.

One: the boy they trained for years, already halfway molded into a now enhanced human soldier.

Two: a boy untrained but superpowered, still trainable and moldable into a meta human soldier.

This could either be a parallel universe thing where both Danny and Jason are the same person but given completely different lives, so more like identical twins or clones here, which has the following support: both black haired, blue eyed, small kids who survived death at 14/15 and got white hair and grew into massive adults (Dan certainly didn’t have Vlad’s body) (and if I had a nickel…).

Or! DeadOnMain is always fantastic, even platonic can be awesome, or imagine the angst of being compared to each other constantly throughout training (“Even without superpowers, Jason is better than you, Danyal” “You’ll never become better than Danyal and his powers, Jason”), or mix and match! Competitive twins who hate each other, twins who become so deeply entwined they’re inseparable, enemies or friends to lovers, so much room to play in this sandbox of DPxDC fandom 😊

Personally, I like to imagine DeadOnMain in which since Danny has no memories, and therefore no goals, he’ll follow Jason anywhere and help. Either Jason and Danny both get poisoned against Bruce, or Danny could be the one tempering Jason out with questions and poking holes in the stories they’ve been told, things that Jason has been too focused on his anger (or Pit Rage) to notice and figure out himself. Then either they can go back to Gotham on a less violent rampage (but still intending on Joker dying), or they can come back twice as dangerous.

Maybe Danny tempering Jason’s rage keeps from the Titans Tower Incident with Tim, or maybe we go with the universes where Batman is a piece of shit and they try to convince Tim to join them before getting killed like Jason did. I like Tim not being beaten up by Jason, okay? Lots of fun ways to take this. (I have also maybe, possibly gotten hooked on JayTim in general and we can get a poly relationship with all three here, lol.)

au, possibly no capes? at the v least jason was never robin (so no death & no lazarus pit; his growth still ends up stunted).

tim hires jason to be his body double for school, and jason accepts bc a) opportunity for education, & at some well-funded private school at that, & b) tim is paying well.

his plan is to disappear post-graduation, get his GED & use the money to fund his college education

unfortunately he ends up actually, like, caring about tim :/
