You know those memes that sprung up during the pandemic that's like:

Me before the pandemic: No plants

Me during the pandemic: Plants are my life now

I would love to see in the Pokemon World the grass-type equivalent where trainers, to cope with the isolation of the pandemic, accidentally propagating an army of grass types.

A little spring comic for all you cacti growers out there. May your plants and Pokémon be healthy in the coming seasons!

Please all be safe, use gloves, or some kind of protection while handing something so pointy. Some of the spines are barbed and don’t come out as easily as you’d like them to.

EDIT: I’ve gotten questions as to why sleep powder works on cacnea, it’s because it has very few spores in its system. It’s got no ability to learn or use sleep, poison or other powder based attacks and thus has no natrual remedy in its system for such things. Pokemon who know or can learn the attack are unaffected normally, but those who can’t learn it are just as susceptible as any normal Pokémon species would be. Least this is my head cannon haha

So I had a crazy train of thought earlier this evening and came up with a concept for a superpower. Hear me out: the ability to grow plants - *but* the types of plants you're able to grow depend on your mood. Think about it, that would literally be so sick! I haven't gotten too far with this idea yet, but here are some of the ideas I've thought of so far...

Happy: Any kind of flowers

Scared: Any kind of spined/prickly plant (cacti, etc.)

Angry: Any kind of poisonous plant

(Would love to hear some other ideas, if anyone has any!)

Little idle thought I've been having recently but I think Cyparissus' story is very important for characterising Apollo and Apollo's love. It's so easy to think of love and loss as two ends of a spectrum, likewise, so often, death is seen as an ultimate and tragic end in love stories - something final and inescapably tragic, the only force that halts love by separating the lovers.

Cyparissus' story is... not that. Yes, the deer dies and one can conclude then that death is once more at the heart of separating two lovers, but I think Cyparissus specifically requesting to die, specifically begging Apollo to let him grieve forever even after Apollo has done his best to help Cyparissus move on from the accident and Apollo letting him is a powerful thing.

Because Apollo not only puts Cyparissus' wishes over his own, he's also able to see past his own building grief to immortalise Cyparissus in such a way that both grants him his wish and allows other people to glorify Cyparissus as well! And I think such a beautiful thing is something criminally overlooked!

It's become something of a joke that 'all Apollo's lovers turn into plants' but from a functional perspective, flowers are the most brilliant way to keep the spirit of a beloved thing alive. Flowers are like stars - as long as there are humans, humans will always contemplate the nature of flowers and as the god of poetry and song, Apollo creating opportunities for his beloved mortals to be remembered eternally even if they never seized glory in the traditional way is such an intimate and beautiful thing. Even then, Cyparissus is elevated to a similar status as Daphne with Apollo's actions - not merely a plant or flower but one that specifically symbolises him, one that is extremely fragrant and beloved by him. Just as Daphne's laurels were synonymous with glory and victory, Cyparissus' cypress became a emblematic of grief and remembrance. Even today, thousands of years later, people still view cypress trees as mourning trees and plant them in cemeteries and use the ash in incense burnt in remembrance of others. How's that for Apollo keeping his word.

I have a weird internal relationship with hypnok1nk, like I'm really fucking into it right? I wanna be brainwashed and conditioned so hard that I'll never have a thought again in my life yah know?the whole shebang. but at the same time, I have a massive distaste for authority and a need for independence that it's a little hard to suspend my disbelief for any kind of real hypno k1nk fantasy. like I immediately get the reaction to go off and make a weird counterpoint fantasy to it in my head. I still get off to hypno stuff but there's a little cognitive dissonance in my head ya know?
