I was originally going to make her wings as a wearable harness type thing, but decided to just sew them on instead. She also got a few new accessories!

The Alchemical Tree. Engraving depicting a tree surrounded by figures used in allegory by alchemists. The tree itself carries symbols representing the Moon, Sun and five planets. Around it are discs carrying symbols such as various birds, a unicorn and a body rising from a grave, showing the stages of life. This engraving comes from Philosophia reformata by Johann Daniel Mylius, printed at Frankfurt in 1622, but is a reworking of emblems created by Valentine for his series called 'Azoth'.

Seriously though, do you think Disney knew?

This movie was made at a weird time for the studio, with them phasing out traditional animation in favor of computer animation. They also were trying to cater to their young adult audience, which is why the movie has this very out of place...how to put in a non-crass way? It has a very "F-the-cops" kind of vibe, as Mae Borowski would put it. In hindsight it's very cringe worthy.

Movie looks pretty, though. Pretty, and fun, it moves fast, despite the weird tone the characters are likeable, their designs are wonderful, and the James Newton Howard music is excellent.

It's a bummer it was such a box office catastrophe.

Not gonna lie, if I didn't live in an era where I can see a truly absurd variety of Creatures from all over the world on the internet, I would be really shocked and confused by moles. We have them here, and I see their mounds, but I have never in my life seen a mole in person. They're elusive, and they look so goddamn weird! It's no wonder people believed in dragons and unicorns when you might suddenly at any moment be confronted with moles! Frankly unicorns would make more sense.
