I've occasionally seen this common bug in several games where a character gets stuck in what seems to be the center of the map, doing a T pose. Is this is a common output of several different types of errors? If so, have you ever hidden the origin of the map under a hill, or made it hidden to the player somehow, so bugs like that are not spotted, even if they occur?
You're right - the T-pose (or its cousin the A-pose) is usually the default pose we put a model in when a particular pose or animation isn't working. The T-pose exists mostly because artists can see all parts of the model by rotating, moving, and zooming the camera, so they can fix up any odd texturing issues on the model.
The purpose of using the T-pose for the default is because it is instantly and visibly recognizable to just about anyone that it doesn't belong there. We often use things like a checkerboard pattern or bright magenta/cyan colors on a cube to indicate a missing model or texture so that the game doesn't crash when it's missing an asset, but QA can immediately flag it as not working properly or using a placeholder asset. As such, we don't want to hide them - we want them to be as visible as we can so that we can fix them.

Working on my mod and getting some assets and concept stuff down. I don't really have a title down or anything, but I'm working on getting stuff down. Set two years after The Truth, it has Kel as main character and I may be working on this alone but I'll try to make progress every day off I have. Not an artist but I'm trying, I'd love to help other artists also working on mods to learn more.

What I meant from the last post. This is on easy mode I was just using it to test if the MP counter was working. Of course there'd be a little noise and/or flash to indicate when things are happening. I'm really pushing the limits of RPG maker here

I didn't get a lot done in Godot today but that's okay (lie)

Idk, personally I think that VR would be kind of a cop out if it were canon, like we already had it once, the whole 'wacked things are happening, cus it's a game!' shtick. I like VR AUs as much as anyone else but I don't think the implication is strong enough to be canon really?
I mean Kiibo blew a hole in the sky, like, he literally blew a hole in the sky that pans out to a very computer looking screen, I won't deny that it might feel like a cop out or why people wouldn't like it, but like, literally what else could this be

Beholde;;; henri walks stiffly & messily (did not do much cleanup outside of making the feet at all visible lol) ok so this was just a first pass to see what would happen things I want to do next time(s):
-More energetic posing in general; really put the whole body into it (head & tail bobbin', etc. There is minimal head bob here, but I actually did it in post rather than posing from the beginning)
-Maybe also turn the body slightly in stepping frames
-Consider 8-directional frames 🤔 I know MZ can do that via plug-ins, so I'm considering this for the chicken sprites. (Wizard stuff I'd like to keep 4-directional for the sake of the gameboy vibe. I'll have to look into how complicated it is to go back & forth on that, but at the very least the visuals can convey it )
-More frames per direction?? At least for chickens. Another thing that appears to have relevant plugins. (normally i would think it best to not overload myself like that, but a nice thing about prerendered models is that it's not as time consuming to just add a few more frames to the mix)

made a really weird dream in my post lunch nap
#dreamt i was playint genshin and somehow managed to glitch the game into letting me be with a character in the opening screen asn go out of#bounds. also i couod move freely in thay area#i could drop down and after a while there would be ground and an underwater cave#basically the opening screen became their endgame assets where they were working on it for some reason#underwater there was some placeholders and chests that could be interacted but dropped unknown objects or nothing at all#and then i found some crazy areas#one area where two giant bosses were dancing#one in which it looked like two gigantic robots were laying one in front of the others but with weapons drawn. completely shut off#one was some sort of church where you could not enter or the game would crash#everything was of course glitchy and broken but it was insane and i took some screenshots bc no one was talking about it online#i sent the screenshots to my friends and then i woke up#i was so disappointed ngl

my game will be playtested on monday and we do not have the assets still so it will be tested with the placeholders i drew in the gamemaker sprite maker with my mouse. heres some of my favourites of those

Ahm, hello Life is Strange fandom- I got an announcement
I have been working on my own LiS fan visual novel
This is VortexVN,
You play as Victoria waking up from a hangover with no memory of the week prior, you are tasked with piecing together what happened between her and one of the 4 love interests.
And of course the love interests are:
-Chloe (Chaseprice)
-Max (Chasefield)
-Kate (Chasemarsh)
-Rachel (Amberchase)
The game starts with a quiz; you unlock a route by picking answers related to the character you wanna romance (they are very obvious)
It takes place in an AU where the events of LiS1 and BtS didn't really happen and there are no special powers, Victoria's still a bi tch- I guess that's her special powers.
Think of this game as a spiritual successor to Love is Strange by Team Rumblebee rather than Life is Strange 1
Gameplay so far is your typical point and click visual novel affair, you will be given options to explore rooms, examine objects and talk to other characters- the interactions will play a crucial part in how the game ends,
You can win the girl or get rejected or worse... It will depend on how Victoria carried herself throughout the game,
Mistreating certain characters may prove to be a dealbreaker for the love interest,
Each girl has two close friends in the dorm that you should not upset (I'll reveal who in the guide pdf)
This game is also perfect for Victoria haters as you can ruin her life
The game has its own journal system that will be different depending on who you're romancing, it also comes with a read button (I blurred most of the text so you can get curious and play the game)
Read button will display the journal content in Open Dyslexic font
In the demo you'll only get to explore Victoria's room and the dorm hallways and you'll get two encounters from Juliet (Showers) and Alyssa (Hallway)
VortexVN is still in development, I have finished part.1 of the project and will start polishing it soon- the initial build of part.1 will be available to play as a demo!
The cutscenes lack color and proper shading at the moment and you will find placeholders as well, the art style is all over the place- this will change after the polishing phase

This game is not a response to or a gotcha at Life is Strange Double Exposure or Deck Nine, I didn't really dislike the game
Besides, I've had the idea of a Victoria centric fan game since the first LiS back in 2015
