Emmet‘s bar is designed to look like an old timey luxury train bar. After I was done with this I had the idea to have the bar not be a big square room but, like a train, be long and narrow, with the bar at the front and seats on the back. Maybe with a scenery wall painting that looks like you‘re looking out a train window.

for the record, melli is usually very anti-pokeball. that being said, he wasn’t about to try and corral a “zoroark” back to the icelands without some means of containment, so he used the ones ingo gave him for emergencies.

Irida makes a point to learn as much as she can about the Pearl Clan wardens.

She doesn’t tell them that though.

Overall, Irida ends up basically stalking them to learn more, and one day she gives Calaba a satchel made of her fav material, and in a style she had been looking at for a bit.

Calaba told no one about any of this.

Pines family’d my favorite guys!!

Still been kind of sick so I’ve rewatched Gravity Falls over these past few days; I’d forgotten how much I liked it as a kid, couldn’t help but try and put my favorite characters/media into the show’s style and world. (Especially seeing as how similar Ingo and Emmet’s situation is to Ford and Stan’s). Very fun exercise!!

Ingo's Pearl Clan test trial...

This gentle smile really gets to me. The only time Ingo smiles in PLA is when you battle him.

It’s clear that Pokémon battles are very important to Ingo. His dialogue after you beat Lord Electrode shows how passionate he is about the sport.

However, it’s clear to me that it isn’t just the battles themselves that make him happy. He only smiles at the end of the battle, after you beat him. He’s pleased to lose to you. Why is that?

Well, his dialogue in Pokémon Masters shows that he views helping other trainers improve as part of his job as a Subway Boss, and he gets really invested in their growth.

Emmet may like winning more than anything else, but what makes Ingo happiest is seeing others excel. Ingo knows that beating him is not an easy thing to do, and he’s proud of you when you succeed.

This ended up longer than I meant it to be, but Ingo is just the sweetest man in the world and deserves all the appreciation I can give.
