There is a dark side of me. What is that? When there is injustice done to the earth, innocent children, and animals, I want Fascist solutions like imprisonment, or even death. Injustice makes me enraged. Then the rational side of my brain kicks in, and I am normal again.

I reiterate, anybody in America can have kids, pets, and high-powered guns. In the primitive part of my brain, I develop this authoritarian law to prevent any further injustice: Make everybody take and pass a test about having children, before getting married. How about a written test about pet care before being permitted to adopt cats or dogs? I wouldn’t actually implement a law like this. But, my anger takes me to such a dark place: Revenge for immoral mistreatment of the weak and the sickly.

One day in San Pedro, California, I walking my Golden Retriever through an alley as a short cut. I come across a backyard with a chain link fence. Now, I’m not going to describe the abuser; it doesn’t matter. What I saw was this big guy pounding his fist onto a Pitt Bull dog’s head. I yelled at the perpetrator, “Hey! That’s no way to treat a dog!” His reply to me was, “Shut up! Or I’ll open the gate and let him out!” I didn’t know what to do. So, I went home and described the incident to my wife. We agreed that I should report it. I called the police and did just that. I felt like a snitch. I spent the whole afternoon debating the issue in my head. Maybe I should have had the balls to climb that fence and beat the shit out of him! I’m sure his abused dog would of have attacked me. Plus, the fact that the young man could have beat the living shit out of me! He was 30 years my junior. Not to mention, I am a relative Pacifist. I would have had violated my political and moral principles. I have seen a lot of negligence and abuse of animals. I have also seen child abuse.

So, what does an Anarchist do? Oh, Right wingers like to point out what hypocrites we Anti-Authoritarian Leftists are, such as when we dress in expensive clothing, or have some wealth. But to call the cops? Oh, my stars! What hypocrites we are! So, what is my defense? If in so doing, I save an animal’s life, or a child victim, then I wear my hypocrisy like a badge of honor! There, you have it.

The fear of government reprisal by violence and imprisonment does not solve the problem of crime—it just postpones it for a time. North Korea and Iran each have almost zero crime. Under a free republic, then crime is rampant because of free enterprise. The poor are given false hope of becoming rich, while they don’t know that the ruling class keeps poor people poor. The latter has got its paid, motivational speakers spewing 1970s E.S.T. rhetoric by telling poor people to embrace the Protestant work ethic with the determination that they will live on easy street. Guess what? Hell, NO, you’ll get rich! If you are poor, the ruling class wants you stay that way!

Some elements of the poor notice that rich criminals get away with dishonesty, lies, and even “accidental” death if someone doesn’t submit to their scams. Rich criminals are role models to poor kids, so they sell dope and exploit their own people. That community will never snitch on a neighborhood gang to the cops. The same goes for corporations. They have their flunkies and will never snitch on the wealthy companies.

Do Anarchists have a solution for crime? Not yet! It will take a complex, scientific approach to solve the problem. Psychological and sociological measures will be necessary to find the solution. That plus political moves. People on the Right think that violence and force will solve the problem. It wouldn’t. The Right claims that the Left coddles criminals and lets them out on parole after they’ve murdered a three-year-old kid. As far as that goes, there was this Ukrainian Anarchist, Nestor Makhno. He believed in revolutionary discipline. If an Anarchist soldier misbehaved, he would get beaten with fists. George Washington did the same thing with his troops. The Right has this stupid-ass stereotype that Leftist are snowflake wimps who don’t want to hurt peoples’ feelings. Yeah, sure. Armed Anarchists have been guarding Drag Queen story hours with rifles. Just like there are a bunch of militant Leftists who would put you in a world of hurt if you insulted them.
