Some random headcanons about Redd because she’s the best and I’m just now finding out she has a fanbase:

She actually has no real given name. She’s gone by a lot of names over the years; Ruby, Crimson, Scarlett, Rose, Carmine. Anything that means “red”. But Redd is the name she likes the most, so it’s what she introduces herself as

She may or may not be a cousin of Jack Sparrow. None of the family really knows, but her mother took on her father (Edward Teague’s brother) as a frequent client over the years so they’re pretty sure the kid is his.

Edward Teague felt responsible for Redd after she was born and took her under his wing. He was the closest thing to a father she ever had.

When she was about 18-19 she was auctioned off (like in the ride) but she eventually shot her “husband” and went off on her own.

Jack took the blame for the crime cause he just so happened to be there to try to break her out. Only Edward knows and plans to take the secret to the grave.

Redd can be just as chaotic if not moreso than Jack, to the point where sometimes even he struggles in keeping up with her

To be petty he refuses to ever call her Captain despite her very much being her. Instead Jack will always call her “Rusty Redd”

She LOVES dad jokes. She’s the only soul alive who’s genuinely laughed at Uncle Jack’s terrible jokes

Redd’s got a bit of a drinking problem but she’s able to manage it pretty well.

She HATES chicken. Ever since she was little they’ve had a weird vendetta against her so she refuses to eat them

Redd is just about the only person who never gets mad when Jack betrays her. If anything she expects it. And sometimes she’ll get a good betrayal on him too

She loves to sing and dance her heart out, but she’s not very good at either
