I like the posters in the tower of terror gift shop but they always stand out to me as very modern art styles so i wanted to try my hand at making a poster that's based in 1930s art! I also wanted to have carolyn in a pretty red dress like the posters but since strapless dresses weren't super popular yet i went for this halter gown based on one seen in The Women (1939)

plus a changing portrait variety because haunted mansion shouldn't get all the fun

Since it's Halloween, here's my list of movies I watched and own on dvd as a kid

After watching “It’s a Good Life” on The Twilight Zone, you start to realize that this whole “there’s no such thing as objective good or objective bad, morality is relative” is just self-protective. We’re just afraid of real evil. We’re just afraid of real good. Because we can’t control it. Because we didn’t decide on it.

This episode of a TV show about a boy who can and does kill you if you think anything he does is “evil” or anything he hates is “good” points out that we’d rather change the definition of good and evil if it makes us feel safe…than risk ourselves by confronting Real Evil, or protecting Real Good.

The townspeople would rather say murdering dogs and children is Good, and life without food or music is Good, than stand up to the terrifying Real Evil.

Go watch that episode, where they say “It’s a Good Life” as their crops freeze and their music and art disappears—then come tell me that “everyone’s definition of good and evil is what’s right for them.”

I Survived the Tower of Terror

I hyper fixated and made a Carolyn crosson doll in 2 days. I used a wild hearts crew Kenna that I had laying around. Her dress is meticulously copied from the preshow, although the actual dress was a beige pink color I went with white to make it pop more and as a bit of a reference to the white dress from the 1997 movie.

She’s a little messy and I probably would have chosen a different base for her if I didn’t get the urge to make her right this instant but I think she’s the best doll I’ve made to date

I was listening to Tower of Terror ambiance which sounds scary but it’s really just soothing 30s and 40s music. So this drawing has a backstory. They met at a fancy hotel in 1939. That’s about it so far lmao
