These have a ton of symbolism in them so card meanings and symbolism under the cut
The empress represents fertility, creativity, nurturing. This works for Donatella in the terms of literal fertility and nurturing with her being a mother but also works for her in the sense of her being the creative mind behind all of the Aquato’s tricks. When reversed, the card represents overbearing, smothering, lack of growth. This equally captures the pitfalls of Donatella’s personality and parenting.
The original Empress card uses nature to represent fertility and abundance but I took it in a more literal sense and decided to represent those concepts with the Aquato’s camp, combining both the nature aspect with a more literal interpretation of fertility with the camp representing her many children. The original card includes a crown of 12 stars for the 12 zodiac signs which I have reinterpreted as stars in Donatella’s hair based on that one color concept where there were flecks of gold in her hair that looked like stars.
The emperor card represents stability, protection, practicality, discipline. As the circus ringleader and a father, these aspects encompass what Augustus wants for his family. When reversed, the card represents domineering, tyranny, rigidity. These are all things that fit the evil Augustus mind construct Raz had, which we can assume came from an amalgamation of fears from Augustus’ parenting. Just like Dona, the reverse covers the flaws in his parenting and personality.
The original emperor card shows a king with his scepter which I have chosen to reinterpret as a ringleader cane. Likewise, the original background of the card which were soaring mountains which represented the ambition for greater heights has been replaced with the towering structure of the Aquatodome, where the family are reaching literal heights.
Overall I think I got lucky in that both the upright and reversed positions of these cards work for these two and I think it’s fun to consider both sides

Was trying to figure out some casual wear for donatella and I very specifically wanted it to be 70s so I decided a gunne sax style sundress was probably the most likely for her. And then I also put her in a long sleeve gunne sax just for me
