Life after October 2019 CPALE release of results
As most of you know, results are unfavorable.
Life must go on though. As of the moment I have no drive to do anything (that involves my hobbies and interests for some unknown reason).
Day of results
I didn't feel anything when I randomly woke up at dawn. I was nervous before I open the site but didn't feel anything when I saw that my name wasn't there. I knew that wasn't normal.
When I told my mom about it, the reaction was normal "okay". When my dad got home from work later that afternoon, arguments got heated. We're all good now, don't worry. But that's when I started to break down.
Next few days
I was just being plain lazy. I complied to everything we need at home though. Did basic household chores, yet I still cannot clean up all of my handouts I used for the review. On my free time I just read CPA success stories, rants about failure, and some drama going on Accouting Coach facebook group. I also talked to few individuals and asked for advice on what should I do. I know for now I could go for a full time review. I needed a job. I decided to go to one of big 4 fims. I texted my contact there and sent an email to the HR.
Just that night before, it took me hours to update and fix my CV. I searched about the firm and basic interview questions.
But there's one thing I failed to prepare: the employment exam. It was not an Accounting exam. I've been only studying accounting, auditing, taxation, advisory and law subjects for a long time. It seems like my knowledge on basic english (like synonyms) and on other basic stuff has been kind of rusty. I don't know if I did well on that. I wasn't able to be interviewed since the firm will have Halloween Party on that afternoon.
I'm still gathering all of my options now and planning to apply to other 2 big 4 firms.
On other days, I went to the mall to get a package, went out for grocery with my family and did some medical check-ups & laboratory tests.
So far, I have no motivation to do things I like to do. I wish I'll slowly regain them, sooner or later.

Studying doesn't always look perfect. It rarely is.
So you can be messy, a bit disorganized, you're allowed to not look like you have it all together because none of us do.
It's ok. Breathe.

thoughts on hiraya journal 📔
Once upon a time, I stumbled upon Hiraya Journal shop at Shopee and fell in love with their notebooks.
Basically, what happened was, I was looking for a notebook for my 2021 bullet journal. Initially, I wanted to buy Moleskin or Archer and Olive but they were quite expensive. So, I started looking for an alternative. Something that has the same quality but for a less expensive price. I spent a few days browsing in Shopee. I was so sure I have seen all of the journal products there but I had to take a second and third look just to be extra, super sure.
Then, I found Hiraya Journal.
At first, I was skeptical because what if this is the same as those shops who markets their products really well but the actual item is just a cheap knockoff of the original. So, I checked their profile in Shopee and Facebook then learned that Hiraya Journal is a local Filipino brand. It recently launched in 2020 and it is owned by women. They even had a teaser video for their products, so, when I discovered them they were fairly new. Back then, they were only offering two kinds of journals, in black and pink, with two different designs, Kalachuchi and Sampaguita.
Knowing that it is a local brand, I immediately considered buying from them. I checked the specification of their journals if it will satisfy my criteria and surprisingly it did. I thought no product will ever meet the set of criteria I made. But Hiraya Journal is different. The things I am looking for in a bullet journal is that it should be dotted, 120 or more GSM, white paper and has a leather cover. Hiraya Journal’s notebook is dotted, 160 GSM, ivory white paper and has a leather cover with gold embossed design. For such a high quality product, you would expect this would cost more than PhP 1,000 but they’re selling it for less than PhP 1,000. I bought mine at PhP 649 and it was one of the best purchases that I made in my entire life.
When I got the delivery, I was extremely pleased with how they delicately packed the product. It came in a box, then inside it was this beautifully wrapped notebook. They used parchment paper to cover the whole journal then added some kraft paper, artificial leaves, twine and stamped everything with this black sealing wax.
Just looking at how they packed the journal, I was sure then that I had bought at the right place. Anyone can see they had put a lot of thought on how to deliver their products to their customers.
I initially wanted the black one but when I was about to add the item to my cart, it went out of stock so I settled with the pink Sampaguita instead. Then I instantly fell in love with the pastel pink when I got my hands on it. The leather cover is thick and I love how the gold embossed Sampaguita is just sitting there so prettily on top.
The journal also has an elastic closure and a ribbon bookmark all in pastel pink. Since the paper is 160 GSM, it’s thick that I can even use it for a light watercolor painting. I also love how the dots are not dark so it doesn’t stand out too much on the ivory white paper.
But what really stirred my heart was the first page. It has the same design as the one on the leather cover then followed by the words, “Ito ay kay,”.
There is just something special about seeing those Filipino words on the front page. It sounded so sincere, genuine—a propriety feeling that this journal is, indeed, mine. When I wrote my name over the dotted space, a sense of pride washed over me. It’s  like I finally had something to call my own. Then, to make it more personalize, I added these washi tapes and a vintage sticker below it.
Visiting their shop again today, they are now offering the journals in more, different colors and designs. They are also selling bags and color pens. I recommend checking their sites for more information:

Knowing the Law and your Rights
From the moment you are conceived to even after you die, the laws play an integral part of our lives. It governs our actions 24/7, telling us what we can and can’t do, how to act and how other people should treat us, and how to live our lives in orderly fashion. The law reaches all aspects of our lives. This can be in the most mundane task like buying a piece of candy or paying the necessary fare for transportation.
Now on the question of why, why do we need to understand the law? Under our Civil Code it is stated that “the ignorance of the law excuses no one from compliance therewith”, this prevents people from stating that “Oh I don’t know that such law exist” or “ayy di ko alam na bawal” or “ayy may ganun palang batas”. The system presumes that we all know the laws that is why it is required that laws shall be published first either in the official gazette or a newspaper of general circulation before they become effective. Through this publication, the government is giving the public a notice that such law exist and will become effective on a certain date. Knowing the law as well as your rights can help us avoid any legal trouble or even guide us on how to act in difficult situations.
Knowing the law that governs everyday life can also equip you in protecting yourself. Laws serve both as a sword and a shield. You can use it as a sword to assert your right in case it is being trampled upon by another person or as a shield to protect yourself from certain actions by another person. In the practical sense knowing the law is knowing if your employer is paying or treating you right, or knowing what to do if someone failed to deliver a product you bought, or if the police is allowed to open your vehicle’s compartment during a routine check point.
At the end, think of life as a game that we all play. We must know the rules in order to know if anyone is cheating or to know if you are allowed to make a certain move. Knowing the law and your rights is an important part of life and we must take action to know them.

Hey, there! Are you guys still there?
I know, it hasn’t been a while. It’s been 2 years!!!
And no, I am not planning to deactivate my blog because tumblr’s my first love. And whatever happens to me, I still find my way here. Over the years, I’ve been trying to post some blogs, and I literally have tons of stories to share that are currently on draft. SO, what really happened to me? And, what am I really doing next?
2018: The busiest year of my life, so far.
Tumblr media
I became a Class Mayor (Class President) Who would have thought? Well, maybe my good classmates who voted for me. It was really hard, since I have to attend several meetings, argue with other officers (lol), do my assignments in our Thesis, and individual reports all at once. I must admit tho, it was an unforgettable experience. Specially, when we planned to have a Farewell Party. I thought of a way to thank my classmates through giving them special awards. Mehehe! And the rest is a history.
Tumblr media
The most controversial Thesis: Our Thesis From our professors arguing whether our thesis is Economics or Psychology to defending the spelling and meaning of assymetric asymmetric. We were candidate for Best Thesis, and I still and forever believe that our thesis is. I do not want to give my sentiments about this anymore, tho. Anyways, we did an Experimental Analysis and it was the most difficult yet fulfilling report in my life. I’m an Economics Major for everyone’s info, and research reports are nearly always our breakfast during college.
Tumblr media
Coffee Table Book Since I am the Program Planning Head in our Local Church (I have mentioned this before, or did I?), I was assigned to do the Coffee Table Book as Souvenir Program of our Church’s Centennial Anniversary. The Coffee Table Book includes Greetings, Messages and Photos of Sponsors and Members. Tho, I am the only one who did the entire Book (yes, you read it right), from layout, photo gathering, paginations, coordination with Printing, etc. I’m already touching up the 135 pages and by the time the lockdown will be lifted, I guess we can already have this printed. I have no sort of allowance or fee in doing this, btw.
Tumblr media
Church’s Centennial Anniversary & Gala Night From planning, program flow, execution, decorations, printing to hosting. Why is it so hard to say NO? Gaahhhh. I planned this Gala Night to highlight the commitments of our members, so it was like sort of Awards Night. Anyways, I won as most photogenic that night. You agree?
Tumblr media
Youth’s Year-end Party Our theme that year was “I can be who I want to be” so I and my boyfriend chose to be Snow White and Prince Charming. Considering the days I’ve been busy with the Anniversary and Gala Night, probably we were not able to buy our costumes. Having about 2 days before the event, we decided to just make our own costume. But, unfortunately, we did not won as best dressed whatsoever. At least we were nominated.
Okay so imagine these events happening in my life all at once. I’m glad, I’m still alive!
Special Update regarding my weight loss journey: Yes, I did it... Back in 2017 - 2019. Since, I started to work last year, I felt that I already gained weight again. But I can say that my routine was very very very effective.
Anyways, I might put up a Youtube Channel. In any case, please please please do subscribe here. I currently don’t have any content yet, but I might upload my weight loss journey if I did get a hundred subs this week. I am planning to upload personal (Love life, work, etc.), reviews (techs and foods), Travel (hopefully), and my Bullet Journals (Spreads and Devo Journals). What do you think?
Wish me luck!

To go left or to go right?
I know I’m not the only one experiencing this kind of mess. People tend to be on certain situations that they were forced into.
So what the hell am I talking about? well here goes, I’m a Junior Student taking a course that I chose based on where my family forced me to be. To be honest I’m enjoying my course and seeing myself to be doing this line of work until that fateful day a friend sent me something through FB. He sent me a certain post from a school in Manila stating that its Music Program is offering free tuition fee. I initially want to take up Music, but as the usual Asian parents go, they see arts or music courses as a waste of time, that there is no future with it, career wise and financially. I remember how I spent my freshman year just reading Music Theory Textbooks and Just practicing as often as possible, the books I have for my course were in mint condition, only bought for compliance but it was rarely opened. I was really passionate with Music, to the point where people in my course come to me for advises with their bands, with playing or with writing songs, and yes I did also formed my own band since even a quartet will be impossible to create given that most people in that course only play casually. It was all fun but I started to fall in love with what I’m doing. Just when I thought I was already moved on, the feeling and excitement of music came haunting me back. Now I’m at a point where I’m in too deep to back out now, the tuition fee spent is hard to justify if I will just move to another University.
I asked my friend, the one who sent me that, “pinapaalis mo na ba ako?”, he told me that it was just a reminder and that I should finish this first since I’m almost at the end. That way you can have the best of both worlds.
This left a bitter taste in my mouth and gave me that often daydream of what if, what if I took that road. What if instead of turning right, I went left? even if it meant being disobedient?
Then it hit me, I always hold on to this mantra that “Everything happens for a reason, you may not know now why, but soon enough you’ll understand”, it will eventually make sense, I told myself, on why I’m here and not there, on why I chose to be scientific and not musical, maybe one day I will find out, but surely that is not today.
In the end I have no regrets to where I am now, my parents are just looking out for me, in a very old fashioned way, but it will make sense. I just need to make the most out of where I am right now, crying over it will not do me good at this point, man up, live with it, and make the most out of a bad situation. We never really get what we want and if we ever get it, it won’t definitely be easy.

Entry #4
January 23, 2019
I couldn’t choose which pic to post so I’m posting all three! It’s my biology notes. Today’s exam went well. Hopefully tomorrow’s better. Fingers crossed!
Study tip: If you’re reading from a book, try capturing an image of the book in your mind. I don’t really know how to explain this 😅. Uhm, don’t read too close from the book. Create some distance, enough for you to see the entire page or spread. This has helped me a lot back then, it enables me to visualize the book and where the informations are placed/written. I can remember better during exams.
This tip won’t work that well for me because I only bought 1 book this semester. I hope it’ll work for you!

as i have mentioned in my introductory post, i want to help those few people who want to learn Filipino. with the scarcity of resources to study Filipino from, it must be very difficult for y’all! ;(( so here you guys go, the first lesson of Filipino With Dei!! (for learning purposes, but ofc u can never not have a few laughs when it comes to filipinos so)   ☼
1. O, talaga?  =  Oh, really?
+ can be used for response to declarative sentences, using a relaxed tone ,  but you can prolong ‘ga’ and go a few notes higher on ‘ga’  for more                      emotion.
“Sis, tingin ka sa kaliwa, may pogi.”  =  “Sis, look to the left, there’s a hottie.
“O, talagaaAAAAaA?? Saan banda bes, di ko makita!!”  =  “Oh (sHIIIT),                reALLY?? Over where bes, I can’t see him!
2. Weh, di siguro!  =  For real? I don’t think so! / That can’t be!
+ this response is used when expressing disbelief.
“Tol, sinagot na nya ako!”  =  “Bro, she finally said yes to me!”
“Weh, di siguro!”  =  “For real? [I don’t think so!] Stop lying, you jackass!”
3. Ah, ganun ba?  =  Ah, is that how it is? / Is that so?
+ used when you’ve been told something new, a fact you didn’t know; much like ‘そうか’ in Japanese.
4. Sigurado ka?  =  You sure?
5. Totoo nga!  =   It’s true! / I’m being honest! / I’m not kidding!
+ when you’re teased for saying something unbelievable to the listener and you want to prove yourself.
“Sa wakas, di ako bumagsak!”  =  “Finally, I didn’t fail!”
“Ikaw, pumasa? Himala!”  =  “You passed? A miracle!”
“Totoo nga! Bagsak ka lang eh!!”  =  “It’s true! Stop teasing me just ‘cos you         failed!!”
6. Sige, titignan ko.  =  Alright, I’ll think about it.
+ although ‘tignan’ means to look, it means to think about in this context.
7. Sayang.  =  What a waste. / That was almost.
+ one of my favorite words in Filipino. can be used when expressing guilt/regret over wasting something (e.g. food, water). But there’s no English word that can give justice to the regret and sadness expressed in this word when used for expressing regret when you almost did/had someone/something.
“Pre, bakit mo kasi siya pinakawalan?”  =  “Bro, why did you even let her               go?”
“Ewan ko, tanga tanga ko talaga. Sayang pre, handa ko na nga syang                  pakasalan.”  =  “I don’t know, I’m really so fucking stupid. I almost did it,                bro, I was ready to marry her.”
8. Ayaw ko / Ayoko / Ayoko nga!  =  I don’t want to! / No! / I said, no!
9. Sige, g!  =  Alright, I’m in!
+ used when expressing willingness to join something or do something. Not to sure but I think ‘g’ was derived from ‘game’. So just like how you say in English, “Sure, I’m game”, when agreeing to do a certain activity.
10. Maya-maya na lang. =  Maybe later, alright?
+ used when telling someone you’ll do something later.
“Kailan ka maliligo?”  =  “When are you going to take a bath?”
“Maya-maya na lang. Mauna ka na.”  =  “A little bit later, you go in first.
alright, that’s all I can give now. if you have questions or clarifications, comment away! to my fellow kabayans, kung may mas mabuting translation kayo or may nakita kayong mali, pakisabi na lang din ;)) reblog to spread the word on how much of a beautiful and interesting language Filipino is!

[ saturday | 11.25.2017 ]
I just found out from a post in Tumblr that this book is what Taehyung was reading some couple of years ago. I find it interesting when I realize some famous person has read/is reading the book I'm reading and I can't help but think about what goes on in their minds when reading a certain line. Like if they're having the same thoughts or feeling the same thing as me. Anyway, I'm reviewing my vocabulary notes from the first three stories in this book. 1. 싫증이 쉬운 아이 - it's about how the author of the story tries to figure out why s/he gets tired of doing something so easily like when s/he tries out a new hobby, s/he does it earnestly at first then eventually starts losing interest. 2. 나는 지금 열일급의 세상밖에 볼 수 없으니까 - it's about the author saying that life as a 17 year old is difficult but older people keep saying it's not as difficult as it seems, that it is nothing compared to how difficult it is being an adult. But the author tries to reason out that s/he has never lived the life of an adult so s/he won't know and that as of this moment, s/he is living the world of a 17 year old experiencing the hardships of a 17 year old. 3. 작가의 말 - it's about how the author of the story reads books including the author's note and how reading the author's note can make him/her change his/her mind about a book. A certain book s/he read was so-so but changes his/her mind after reading the author's note where the author of the book humbly confessed that s/he has no talent in writing but wants to prove to him/herself that even though s/he has no talent in writing, s/he can still fulfill a dream and gain happiness.
