Happy New Year! 2018 has officially started and I’m currently working on my study trackers using the blank pages on my new planner.
This is how I keep track of my Korean language study habits. To be fluent in a foreign language, it is important that you work on improving all of your skills such as reading or writing. It’s not good to focus on just one skill and neglect the others. With the help of this study tracker that I made, I will know what skills I have neglected and if I did well or slacked off. I did not include speaking in the tracker since I don’t really get to talk to a native Korean as often as I want to. But I hope I’ll be able to work on my speaking skills again soon.
Supplies used:
• The 2018 Giving Journal from The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf • Artline Stix Brush Marker in Apricot • Zebra Sarasa Clip Pens 0.4mm
How do you keep track of your studies?

Oh gosh. Haha. I normally don't get too shy revealing my age but for some unknown reason, I suddenly feel embarrassed. But I'm in my late 20s. Hahaha.

Hello! I’m a 15 year old trying to start studying Korean. Do you know what would be a good starting point when learning Korean? So the language won’t seem so overwhelming.
Hello! Sorry for the late reply. I would suggest you start with learning the Korean alphabet first. Then you can practice reading one of your kpop song lyrics in the Korean alphabet just to familiarize yourself with the letters. Then you can start with the basics. I suggest you use Talk to Me in Korean. It's a website that offers free Korean lessons. They also sells books but I guess that'll have to wait until you've got a solid grasp on the basics.

I just found out from a post in Tumblr that this book is what Taehyung was reading some couple of years ago. I find it interesting when I realize some famous person has read/is reading the book I'm reading and I can't help but think about what goes on in their minds when reading a certain line. Like if they're having the same thoughts or feeling the same thing as me. Anyway, I'm reviewing my vocabulary notes from the first three stories in this book. 1. 싫증이 쉬운 아이 - it's about how the author of the story tries to figure out why s/he gets tired of doing something so easily like when s/he tries out a new hobby, s/he does it earnestly at first then eventually starts losing interest. 2. 나는 지금 열일급의 세상밖에 볼 수 없으니까 - it's about the author saying that life as a 17 year old is difficult but older people keep saying it's not as difficult as it seems, that it is nothing compared to how difficult it is being an adult. But the author tries to reason out that s/he has never lived the life of an adult so s/he won't know and that as of this moment, s/he is living the world of a 17 year old experiencing the hardships of a 17 year old. 3. 작가의 말 - it's about how the author of the story reads books including the author's note and how reading the author's note can make him/her change his/her mind about a book. A certain book s/he read was so-so but changes his/her mind after reading the author's note where the author of the book humbly confessed that s/he has no talent in writing but wants to prove to him/herself that even though s/he has no talent in writing, s/he can still fulfill a dream and gain happiness.

running a studyblr as an adult is so strange. i see kids as young as 13 having breakdowns about grades, isolating themselves from everyone because they don’t quite fit in, not knowing how to deal with very real mental health problems… it’s not my place as someone significantly older than you to try and intervene in your personal life, but i hope you all know that if you ever want advice - about studying, dealing with life, or just which colour to change your blog to - or need someone to listen to you when you’ve had an awful day, my inbox is always open. things will get better for you, and you will be okay, i promise.

I’m a new langblr and was wondering what pens/utensils you use? I love the colors and was wondering what brands you use... hehe Btw I love your blog, it’s helpful!
Hi! Thank you so much for leaving a sweet message. I’m terribly sorry for the late reply tho. I’ve been kinda busy and been dealing with some serious internet connection problems.
Anyway, I use a black Pilot G-2 Gel Pen in 0.5 mm for my notes and different highlighters to decorate my note’s headers. I have Zebra Mildliners in Pink pack and Stabilo Boss Pastel highlighter set. I have a list of all the supplies I use for my notes here so you can check that out if you want.

Judging a K-Pop Cover Contest
I was invited to be one of the judges for a k-pop cover contest in one of the universities here in our city. The contest was one of the major events in the university's sports fest and it was organized by one of the school's student organizations called HallyUPi.
HallyUPi is a student organization for fans of k-pop, Korean dramas and Korea. Hallyu means Korean wave and UP stands for University of the Philippines. Every year, they hold a k-pop cover contest during their sports fest for the students of UP. Their k-pop cover contest keeps getting better and better every year. They also hold other activities like Korean film showing or food fair.
*sighs* So jealous. The college I went to didn’t even have any student organizations, let alone an organization like HallyUPi so it made me wish that I went to their university instead. I think my college days would have been more bearable if I were in a k-pop/k-drama student organization and be surrounded by people who share the same interest as me.
PS: My editing sucks. T_T I'm working on it. Haha.

hello! could you please share some korean youtubers you watch?
Hello! ^^ Recently I’ve been watching a lot of videos by a Korean Youtuber called 스팀보이 StimBoy and I also watch his sister’s channel, 스팀걸 StimGirl. This video is probably one of my favorite videos of StimBoy and StimGirl. A couple of days ago, I discovered a channel called SARANG and some of her videos like this one and this one have English and Korean subtitles which is really awesome.

How do you edit your photos? Your photos always look so neat
Hello! ^^ I’ve been using VSCO to edit my photos but I recently tried using a new app called Polarr and I think I like it better because it lets me do things that I can’t do with VSCO.

Is ㄹ pronounced as L or R?
This is probably one of the most common questions that beginners ask when learning 한글. Just like every beginner learners, I went through this as well which is why I decided to study pronunciation rules too. I created this post to help clear up any confusion.
When ㄹ is located at the beginning of a word, it sounds more like an R.
Example: 라디오 (ra-di-o), 레슨 (re-seun), 로맨틱 (ro-man-tik)
When ㄹ is located between two vowels, it sounds like an R.
Example: 다리 (da-ri), 사랑 (sa-rang), 어렵다 (eo-ryeob-dda), 모르다 (mo-reu-da), 노력 (no-ryeok), 매력 (mae-ryeok)
When ㄹ is located at the end of a word, it’s pronounced more like an L.
Example: 딸 (ddal), 아들 (a-deul), 월 (weol), 달 (dal), 칼 (khal), 연필 (yeon-pil), 교실 (gyo-sil)
When ㄹ is followed by a consonant or followed by another ㄹ, it sounds like L.
Example: 딸기 (ddal-gi), 힘들다 (him-deul-da), 몰라 (mol-la), 살자 (sal-ja), 고릴라 (go-ril-la)
When ㄹ comes after any consonant except ㄴ, ㄹ is pronounced as N.
Example: 생리 (saeng-ni), 국립 (gung-nip), 능력 (neung-nyeok)
When ㄹ comes before or after an ㄴ, both ㄹ and ㄴ are pronounced as ㄹ.
Example: 한류 (hal-lyu), 신라 (sil-la), 신랑 (sil-lang), 달나라 (dal-la-ra)
Disclaimer: Hope this helps but remember not to rely too much on romanizations and listen to the sounds properly as well.
This is a post that I shared on Amino app and I decided to post it here as well.

Currently working on the 성격 part. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it by today so I can post it up later. I keep getting distracted by Korean dramas right now tho. Lol.

I just finished watching “The Day We Broke Up (헤어진 다음날) / One More Time” on Netflix and I’ve never felt so frustrated since the day I watched the last of episode of “Big (빅)”. This drama was so emotionally draining but I was hoping that something good will come out of it so I continued watching it but the ending left me unsatisfied and with so many questions stuck in my head.

I know I’ve said that I’m going to rewrite my notes from “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (힘쎈 여지 도봉순)” so I could post them here but instead of doing so, I started watching a Korean drama called “The Day After We Broke Up (헤어진 다음 날)” on Netflix. I’m on Episode 4 so far and there is a total of eight 30-minute episodes.
On a totally unrelated note, Netflix will be releasing Part 4 of Terrace House: Aloha State soon and I can’t wait to find out what happens next. Because of this show, I’m tempted to start studying Japanese language.

Hey everyone! We’ve seen a few studyblr directories lately and some awesome pages with a recompilation of the tracks some blog track, and we thought it would be a good idea to combine these concepts and create a page when you can find studyblrs from your same country, same studies or just find some tags to tag your posts!
How to be in the directory:
Fill THIS form with the info you want to be shown in the directory
Reblog this post to spread the word
Easy right? We’ll be doing the page in the next days and updating it at least once a week, so if we get more than 10 people interested we’ll publish the link soon! If you have any doubts feel free to send us a message!
UPDATE: Since we’ve already received a lot of requests, we’ve started making the page right now! You have the link HERE if you want to check it out!
Credits to @pennyfynotes for the amazing graphics of the banner, we love you Maria 💕
