I’ve been trying to make a segment oc who’s like a fishman that gets sent out to scavenge for samples/old tech in hard to reach places and is built with the intent of entering the really deep parts of the ocean.

And then I had an even better oc idea.

His name is Pinkttore

He’s exactly the same as Dottore except someone fucked up and added a little bit of red to him, kinda like when you accidentally add something red when you’re washing white clothes.

if last names are chosen by the parents in early tribe culture, and cats with the last name shadow are seen as somewhat lesser due to their ancestors (broken shadow) involvement with holly leaves, then there must be a reason the shadow family didn’t just give their kits the last name of the other parent. (also I’m loving the implication that quiet wing and her kits are descendants of jays wing or doves wing)

I feel like it's a sense of pride. It fits Tall Shadow a lot.

They have been raised with a very different story about the Tyrant. That they were family once. They may have brought her to the lake, but the alternative was leaving her alone and confused to die.

Shadows are never alone. They'll kill before abandoning their family.

(Moon Shadow was in an interesting position to say the least, leave your mate or never see your sister again... he's still gonna be my favorite little loser in the rewrite though don't worry LMAO)

And it's probably not the case that Shadows NEVER got different names; but those that "married out" aren't remembered as Shadows. Tall and Moon had an adamant parent, who also had an adamant parent. A line of cats that refused to let OTHERS slander their name.

Their ancestors can strike them down if they want it gone; but they will not let the living pressure their name into extinction.

It's irony that the family is PACKED with black cats, the same color as the Tyrant. Leaving on the Sun Trail was like breaking free of an ancient curse, forging a new society where they would be remembered as founders.

And it works; ShadowClan's name is tied to Broken Shadow herself. I think that's a really neat concept!

There's this one line in Ascensionism that's been sticking in my head the last couple of days:

"With one eye on the door, other eye on a rail Other, other eye following a scarlet trail And the last few drops from the Holy Grail"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is the first time we've gotten any kind of lyrical reference to having any extra eyes? The eye on the door feels like a reference to Jaws, where Vessel's being watched while Sleep (or whoever else) is moving towards the door to leave him locked away, and the rail at first glance seems like it is a desire for stability or assistance/companionship. Blood trails have plenty of lyrical references throughout their discography, even just two tracks prior in Aqua Regia, but there are a couple of different interpretations that come to mind for the Holy Grail.

The way this is described in and of itself is curious, that you have Vessel's attention split not just in different directions, but in different amounts: 1/3 is looking at the door, either at a potential exit or looking at the place where someone's abandoned him, 1/3 is looking at something already present that could potentially be a source of grounding and relief, but the final 1/3 is split in two.

Four focus points, but over six parts. Reminds me of how Vessel's most recent masks have all featured six eyes, but hey, if nothing else that lends a precedent for this hyper-fragmentation of warring desires, or perhaps a combination of fear and desire; prey animals need ways to detect predators, after all, what could be better than two eyes than six?

Looking at this last 1/3, the final two of the six, you have this equal split. On one hand, you have the desire to continue this metaphorical hunt, that nagging urge to follow it to the source of injury and make it worse, to latch on and deepen the wounds and the pain in someone else. On the other, you have the last drops of the Holy Grail; depending on what interpretation of literature you prefer, that could mean bringing back eternal youth (the glory of innocence, perhaps, as a foreshadowing to TMBTE), or halting further progression of aging or disease (preserving telomeres, like was pointed out by tonguetyd here), or providing a source of eternal sustenance, something that would be able to sustain Vessel in a way that would free him from the need to follow that blood trail in the first place. Those are all very different things, though all certainly desirable in their own way at various points to Vessel throughout the trilogy.

Thing is, no matter what the Holy Grail does, the resource is finite. There are only a few drops left - even if Vessel were to opt for that route, he would still eventually age again, whether from a 'purer' point or his current state, would still return to his hunger and his need to feed. There's one problem here, though. Wounds heal. The scent of blood can last a long time, but if Vessel were to abandon the hunt for too long, it may be impossible to pick it back up and still have the upper hand, if he were to catch up in the first place. So, of course he would be torn over that more than anything else. Would really it be worth abandoning everything up until now to have that brief respite, to return to a time when he wasn't caught in this viscous cycle, when he knows fully well that it can never last?

I dont know why giving ancient pokemon a bath is so amusing to me. Most wild pokemon wouldnt really know what a bath is anyway but like in ancient times when these big terrifying beasties saw not a sliver of civilization, I wonder what its like for them to just watch JV pull out all these lil fancy gizmos and then WHOOSH theyre getting all that sweet soap suds and getting a nice rinse and now theyre...clean???

YESSS though as with all clothes he owns he's gotta have like a billion hidden pockets in his comfy sweaters for his lollipops and various other nefarious items BUT none of those can be visible from the outside. He could have lockpicks and you'll never know. He could even hide a gun perfectly if he ever got his hands on one.

I think there's something so neat about Hifumi's capacity to care for others (even if at times it seems a little... like with his stalker or with Honobono) and I think about his post-high school trauma NEET era and like... to grow from barely being able to care for himself (frozen food requires very little energy) to being able to cook for others all the time... his growth thanks to support from Doppo!! That's his bestie his sun his superhero!!!! Why wouldn't his favorite flavor be Doppo's favorite food?
