🐉Doesn’t get your text till the next time he charges it and is like oh, that happened

🐉Yeah, you’re like left sitting there at Sam’s shop thinking to yourself why you sent it to him in the first place

🐉The moment he reads said text, Malleus is asking you all sorts of questions about what he missed

🐉This should have been a precious moment for him to get invited somewhere and he messed it up

🐉Apologizes and promises that he’ll pay better attention to his phone, yeah good luck dragon boy

🐉The two of you schedule a proper late night hang out which Malleus is super excited about

🦇It actually does remind him of those little kids who would get picked up from school by their parents

⚡The next morning you probably got a bunch of bags from staying out late at night and boy does Sebek yell at you for it

Hi! I have a question if you would like to answer: what made you want for Arlow and Lucanis to be best friends prior to the events of the game? Like what was the moment where you went „that would be a great idea“ and why?

Short answer: I'm a sucker for friends-to-lovers, especially with some kind of mess or drama in between.

Long answer:

Before Veilguard dropped, I was being so careful to not let myself get out of hand building a Rook, because even though I like to bend canon, I also like to know what the canon sandbox is before I do that. I wanted to know the backstories, the faction vibes, and the relationship/quest beats before I got my heart set on an OC. At the same time, I was battling the overwhelming urge to immerse myself in character building because I was so hyped. So, as a compromise (and this is the "moment" I would say), I let myself pick exactly one (1) thing about my Rook: she knows how Lucanis takes his coffee and he trusts her to make it for him.

(which became infinitely funnier once it dropped that crow!Rook was a de Riva, because of the poison angle. serendipity, lol)

Having read the short story The Wake, I knew that there would be some fuckery regarding Lucanis being "dead" (and I was already planning to romance him after reading Tevinter Nights). I wanted to give him and Arlow enough of a relationship history that his death would mean more to her than just "ah shit, the First Talon's grandson got got", but I didn't want that history to be romantic, because I wanted to watch the romance arc play out in game.

So, best friends. And with how intense Lucanis is about his platonic relationships with all of the Veilguard, I'm really glad for that choice - I think it suits both of them, and the stories I want to tell for them (:

I like feyre, even though sjm kinda killed her character i stand with my girl for the most part. emphasis on the most part because i will never recover from her manipulating tamlin to lash out in acomaf/acowar (sorry they all bleed together)🧍🏻

And people will say she was justified in what she did and that its tamlins fault that he lashed out. like it wasnt great on his part but it is a type of emotional manipulation from feyre to get him to do that. she had to push him to get that reaction, it wasnt a natural reaction and man. Sjm accidentally wrote 90% of my childhood experiences with shitty boys LIKE how did she do that ⁉️

my cat is too fucking smart

she has this ball that holds treats, it's got a hole in it so when she whacks it around the treats will fall out if the angle is right. she could also probably get the treats out a smarter way, but she prefers violence.

I haven't used her treat ball in awhile and apparently it was sitting in the back of a cupboard. How do I know? She was rustling around inside a cupboard and I was mostly ignoring her because the only edible thing in there was cat food, and i KNOW exactly what it sounds like when she's shredding a bag of it.

Next thing I know she's pushing everything out of the cupboard onto the floor violently and I start trying to catch it because it's ALMOST 2AM and PEOPLE ARE SLEEPING. finally she smacks the ball out of the cupboard and rockets after it. She's smacking it around wildly and violently. It's under the table, by the couch, down the hall, by the curtains, by the fridge.

THERE ARE. NO TREATS. IN THIS BALL. IT IS EMPTY. I HAVENT FILLED IT FIRST LIKE I ALWAYS DO. this never occurs to her. She's stopping every 5 seconds to sniff the ground for treats. I start chasing the ball to try and grab it and stop her rampage. The cat. Is faster. She's darting through the chairs, I have to run around the table. She's smacking it away before I can touch it. I've become part of the game. IT IS ALMOST 2AM. finally I get lucky and snatch the ball.

She looks at me. She sniffs the ground. She looks back at the ball I'm holding. After all that, she didn't knock a single treat out of the (EMPTY) ball. Is that...disappointment in her eyes? (No. I'm imagining it). Fuck. I fill the ball with treats and give it back to her. The rampage restarts. This time with snack breaks. It's almost 2am.

lethe. shepard doesn't know much about it — he generally leaves the navigating to the navigators, the ones best equipped for the job. it's a tall order, to be sure. to monitor the state of the normandy's surroundings constantly from planet to planet and as they drift in between; to chart their course through the mass relays and through systems; to keep informed of the meteorology and of any and all potential hazards and abnormalities in destination environment, and to then relay the relevant information to joker and to shepard alike ... really, shepard only really tells them where to chart the course.

pressly's absence is a considerable loss for the old crew and for shepard, who ( somehow, weeks later. he didn't have any idea he's grown so softhearted until now ) can't quite manage to pass by the CIC without expecting to bump into the man. it appears to be a blow only to morale and sentiment, however — he finds himself mildly stunned to find that the majority of pressly's and his people's job have been considerably minimised by EDI's presence.

" before long, they'll figure out how to replace me with you, " he grumbles to EDI as he swipes down the neatly condensed reports on his datapad. everything he needs is there. basic information on the colony they're headed for, recent non-private transmissions to and from relevant colonies nearby, geographical snags and obstacles that might cause the hammerhead some difficulties ... all neatly gathered and presented to him in easy to consume, shepard-friendly ( as she and joker seem to have taken to calling it; apparently his requests for information actually usable to him are amusing to them ) format.

EDI's reply — ' perhaps once i finally have enough data to fully assimilate your personality, shepard ' — bordering smugness, if she were capable of it, does not help. nor does the ' ... that was a joke, ' that follows.

that aside — he'll worry about the ai mutiny on his hands later — lethe. the illusive man had kept busy while waiting for shepard to be revived, clearly, judging from the lengthy list of not-strictly-necessary places of interest he's provided the normandy crew. the planet's commandeered and run by notably one krogan, who has evidently found an impressive amount of capital in mining, gambling, alcohol, and entertainment. not a bad operation. the mining shepard can see the draw of for cerberus. but why the illusive man has any interest in the colony they've set course for is beyond shepard; the supplemented information that EDI's provided indicates that it's interspecies. not what shepard expected. but this particular colony and coordinates are attached to a contact: an informant. he figures cerberus can find no better informant elsewhere ( read: amongst more humans ) on lethe.

as long as they're in the thorne system, they might as well stop by.

" EDI. can you patch me through to kristen durus? " he makes the request when they've broken through the atmosphere, setting down the datapad. EDI took the initiative to make contact before their flight to lethe, so they should be expected.  " durus — this is commander shepard of the normandy. we're approaching the colony. we'll be coming in on a shuttle, ETA, twenty minutes. can you set a rendezvous point? over. "

oh! i experiment a lot with colors and effects (most of which i don't even remember the name SOB) but i can give you a summarized version of my steb by step on how i art

first of all, the colors!

here's the og, and you can probably see that in most of my art i tend to use grays and soft colors a lot and that's because it's easier for me to pick a 'theme' if you will? like 1 bright color that pops and the rest is a lot less harsh and that's what helps me define the contrary color and base my editing on that!

like here is where i usually choose my colors! but you can pick something darker and more saturated too idk i don't think it'll affect the end result- at least as long as you can change contrast and lighting in your program. i know color theory but not enough to explain it hhh :'D <333

so now use the wind tool on photoshop (there's some free editing versions online that will work just the same) and if you don't have or wanna use Ps, firealpaca and medibang have similar enough options- use motion blur, then the curves tool to make it look liiike

this! now blur the piece from a 5 to 10 range depending on how big your piece is, then you'll have that soft fuzzy outline! put some random static on top (very low opacity) then sharpen the whole thing if your art is very small like mine here so you can see details xD

use the lighten mode on your next layer and add a blue tint to the character (and leave the pop color untouched: here the yellow bg)

if you want a vhs look! and add more line-like static (just google static images and mess with colors/edit them yourself if you can't find any good options on your art program) and change up the hues and tints/contrast if you really wanna lean into the vhs asthetic like:

these! and add a 3D effect (or chromatic aberration? i think that's what the translation is cause my settings are in french xD do look it up if you can't find it on ibispaint, clip studio or whatever program you're using!)

i really suck at explaining so i don't consider this a tutorial, but mostly me rambling about effects and editing hhh but honestly? best advice i can give you is try every single effect you can and see how it looks with hues and color changers added on top of it!

stumble upon new effects and learn how to replicate them without needing to rely on special layers or tools if you're looking to improve your coloring!! >:Dc i only use these because my version of sai doesn't have a blur tool cause i pick the colors myself in most cases now :') but as i said i'm bad at explaining so hope it kinda sorta helped? a little? hhh<3333

🐍When Jamil learns all you want to do is have some late-night fun with him, he’s like no thank you

🐍Man needs his rest, but after some convincing he allows you to accompany him on his way back to the dorm

🐍On the way you share some snacks and maybe even some crazy stories, you know those late-night hours be bringing up some memories

🐍It’s like you unlocked some of Jamil’s lore you never knew

💀 Pushes the off button on his phone fast

💀 Him going outside in the dead of night, gurl what are you thinking?

💀 Eventually just sends a text back saying no

💀 You end up sending him another and it ends up becoming a late night texting session

💀 If you did need him to pick you up try again another three hundred years is what he would like to say, but he does ask if you’re stuck or smth

💀 Idia decides to ask after thinking about it for a while, did you still need him to pick you up?

💀 He’s not going to pick you up, but he will send you some device to help you

🤖 Arrives faster than the speed of light

🤖 Excited to know why you need him to pick you up?

🤖 No seriously Ortho is confused, did someone blow off your legs?

🤖 Whatever the case is, he’s on his way to investigate

🤖Seeing his friend waiting up for him with no injuries, Ortho’s relieved

🤖Still curious to know why he’s asking you a million of questions, but quickly solves them on his own

🤖Already ran through his stimulation

🤖Once he’s done checking on you the two of you plan to invite Idia the next time you’re out late

🤖Eventually you walk Ortho back to his dorm and you go back to yours

...........so fun fact about me: sometimes I'll get random thoughts and ideas at Fuck You AM that I'll want to expand upon later, so in order to not forget about them come morning I'll write a line or two in my drafts to finish later

the downside to this is sometimes I'll forget about these notes so they'll sit in my drafts for a bit

the downside to that is because of how long it’s been I'll forget exactly what I was thinking and only have the note to work off of, which can be vague and/or ominous at best

so every once in a while I'll be deep diving in my drafts and find bullshit like this and suddenly begin to worry about What Exactly Was Going Through My Head
