for a cause
It hasn’t been long since Dia placed some investments in Daybreak Orphanage and became the owner. It was her only Arcadian ‘business’ and while she could have taken ownership of others, this was entrusted to her by a friend. When she took it over, she noticed the place was severely lacking in many things-- order, funding, employees and volunteers. It came to her attention that money isn’t the only thing it needed.
And so, to attract the community’s attention and focus it on the children, Dia held a small fund-raising event. With the Flower Festival just ending and most of the community’s moods all fluffy and giving, Dia thought it was the perfect time to hold such an event.
At the Orphanage’s garden, she set up a small area for people to eat, listen to music and play with the children. Since she was never the best at socializing, Dia took it upon herself to handle the music instead of making a fool of herself elsewhere.
She had a piano donated to the orphanage and while it was difficult to set up in the garden, it wasn’t impossible. The children excitedly played with it at first, careless fingers creating the most random of tunes by striking the black and white keys.
Once everyone had their fun, Dia gently told them she’d have to use it for a bit. One child refused to go anywhere, so instead of shooing them away, Dia sat beside the enthusiastic pianist. “Can you let big sister play first? It won’t take long, I promise.” The child eventually settled with sitting on her lap-- it was uncomfortable at first, but Dia found it endearing after a while.
Not wanting to bother with calling people’s attention, Dia simply started playing. The child on her lap at first started hitting random keys but it didn’t take too long for them to quiet down and simply observe as Dia’s fingers moved through the keys, a level of finesse and composure present as the song comes to life.
Her performance was far from perfect, but it wasn’t too bad, either. Unlike words, music was easier to understand and Dia was sure her intentions would reach those that listened. It was a solemn and emotional song, a mix of a sad, cheerful and hopeful melody. Most of the kids here were the same and even if Dia can’t fully relate, she empathized with what they had to go through.
Tumblr media
The song comes to an end and the child that had been sitting obediently on Dia’s lap started getting excitable again. Dia couldn’t help but laugh softly as once more, the child started hitting random notes. One of these days, she’ll have to give proper lessons. For now, she lets them do as they please.
Hopefully the small event would gather enough funds and attention towards the Orphanage to acquire more volunteers. Her home is at Leuda and even she can’t commit herself to visiting. Hopefully she’ll find people that will.

Friendly Visit || Dirk & Kurt
@deadeyeartisan;
[ ✉ ] — Dirk had been in the market for a new kitchen set. The old one he and Ivan used for years was starting to get, well... old, and just wasn’t enough for what he wanted to do with his culinary ventures.
So he heads to the carpentry, eyeing an awkwardly crafted chair as he walks inside. He still never got the owner’s issue with those things. Of all the things to build, you’d think those would be the easiest.
Tumblr media
Upon walking inside, he immediately spots a familiar face. “Kurt, sup! Think you can help a bro out?”
He approaches the counter where the other man stood, grinning as he raises his hand up in a casual wave. It wasn’t often they got to hang out, on account of his stoic friend spending a lot more time in Leuda these days. But no matter how much time and distance were put between them, their relationship never changed.

flower festival
While Dia was at City Hall purchasing the flowers for Felicity, she realized she could use this as a chance to send her gratitude to her other peers. To each one, she sends out a bouquet she picked herself, with a note she signed.
Tumblr media
For @pupfarmer, a bouquet of peach roses was sent to GreenHill Farm addressed to Fritz Holloway.
To a fruitful partnership and perhaps even friendship. Know that I’m forever grateful for the help you’ve given me. Happy Flower Festival, Fritz.
For @deadeyeartisan, a bouquet of purple Irises, lavender Delphiniums and white Alstromerias was sent to Kurt Oakwood’s apartment.
It’s strange how when my thoughts often lead to you whenever I encounter something new, or if I’m in trouble.  You were always a good ear to me, but lately you’ve been more than just that. It’s strange, don’t you think? Truly strange. Happy Flower Festival, Kurt
And lastly, for @healingstitches, a bouquet of pink and white roses delivered at Alpha Medical Center for Nurse Georgina Darlington. It wouldn’t have been a surprise if she gave it at home, so Dia had it send at her other workplace.
It takes a long time to grow roses, yet it takes even longer to grow close bonds. I’m lucky to have grown such a strong one with you. Happy Flower Festival, Gina.

Conclusion: Taking the five books with them, Dia entrusts them to Gwen and to Arcadia Explorer’s Guild. To leave them here in the island would risk them being stolen. And so, to immortalize them and their story, they are protected at the guild and are advertised to the public. If they wish to see Storyteller’s Keep and live the experience each book holds, they may ask a Guild member to accompany them to the island to unlock the dome and place the books in the pedestal. They might have accidentally removed the magic from one book (blue book), but the four others were still locked-- as they should be.
The Guild was entrusted with the duty to make sure those books would remain locked and accessible for all that wish to see the stories made by a loving father for his daughter.
And the photo they acquired from the first book? It’s put up in display in the guild, along the storyteller’s journal. So all that wish to know their tale may see the love shared between the family of three.
The books they salvaged from the burnt house, on the other hand, were preserved and restored, now displayed at Clove Villa. The illusion books and notes were sent along to Arcadia Explorer’s Guild together with the personal belongings of the family. But the novels they have collected remained at Clove Villa.
