Itezhi Tezhi Bus Station, Zambia 2017. Shot whilst working on The Bigger Picture project. I just can't help but photograph such locations. I actually jumped back in the car whilst everyone else was in the shop, drove back and photographed it.

It is a pilgrimage in which some people devoted to the town image of the Virgin Mary take the statue, put it on top of a carriage pull by a couple of oxes and head on under the Almería sun . We Are Magazine est certainement le projet le plus abouti de ma carrière de photographe.

Ce travail a été exposé à la bibliothèque de Bordeaux, du 30 avril au 31 mai 2019 dans le cadre de la 4ème Fabrique du citoyen.

Extrait du programme de l’exposition : « Le détournement, le plagiat s’invitent dans le cadre de cette fabrique du citoyen. Ces notions trouvent toute leur place dans le travail que pr��sente le photographe Sylvain Norget à la bibliothèque de Bordeaux. L’artiste nous propose de découvrir les couvertures de son non-magazine "WE ARE" (jamais publié) : il y accentue le trait de ces images contemporaines omniprésentes valorisant à outrance le corps, la violence, le genre et la mode. On retrouve donc ces thématiques sur les fausses Unes de Sylvain Norget, où le détournement des codes fait tout le sel de ses photographies et crée une mise à distance salutaire »

La presse mode fonctionne différemment de la presse généraliste, elle propose des numéros spéciaux (« issue ») qui illustrent des sujets précis (contexte de saison, le célèbre « september issue » de Vogue, par exemple)

Ces numéros sont conçus avec une même charte graphique, un fil conducteur du début à la fin du magazine. Ils sont destinés, commercialement, à être… immanquables : le lecteur (l’habitué ou l’hésitant) doit se précipiter dessus ; la cover est donc primordiale.

Je ne serai pas en couverture des prochains We Are, ce projet s’ouvre aussi et surtout à d’autres visages que le mien.

Je vais inventer de nouveaux personnages et, vous, les représentez… À suivre donc 😊

El mes de enero finalizó con el desmontaje de una expo colectiva en la que participé junto con una larga lista de autoras y autores coétaneos que, bajo el título ‘El saló’, organizó el espai fotogràfic de Can Basté. Lo hice con tres imágenes de mi proyecto ‘Dominó de las flores’ y compartí espacio con personas a las que quiero y admiro y otrxs autorxs que descubrí y me adentraron en su mirada a lo largo del vestíbulo abovedado.
