4/28 Here's to taking a moment. Here's to acknowledging #goals I've set, accomplished and sat on the shelf before wallowing in #triumph . When I first started creating, it was never with the intent of selling my work. I created for me and my own personal growth. It wasn't until I started sharing my work, receiving feedback and offers that I realized, "My art touches people." I went from this, "I do this for me" mentality to "I want to see my art on the walls of peoples homes who are moved by my creations." That accomplishment came so quickly and at a time where various other pressing desires persisted that I never really stopped to appreciate this achievement. I've always had a great deal of respect for anyone who knows more than I do... One of my instructors during my time studying Art & Design at #CCP said to me (in but so many words), "You should pick one thing you're really good at and stick with it." The idea behind his statement was, if you focus on too much, you'll spread yourself thin and subsequently won't be able to give adequate attention to each interest. While I understood his point, I couldn't agree with it... I couldn't imagine if I would have focused on modeling and not taken on digital editing (that's what got me into it), or taken on digital photography and not mastered darkroom editing, or never having pursued massage therapy when my true passion is working with my hands... · Though the date has been revised due to snow here recently, as of Friday, I've competed all requirements to graduate from massage school with honors. My very last client said I gave her the best massage shes ever had from a graduate and while her opinion is subjective, I know she wouldn't have said that if I wouldn't have pursued my interest to begin with... · If I could go back in time, I'd say one thing to my old instructor...
