away, away
i dragged my foot onwards
despite the persistent ache
weighing down my body and heart
as my head tries to clear itself.
away, away from everything
the grass that i have long trodded on
the banana trees i could see from windows
the humidity i could feel deep within my skin.
the antique chairs that would creak
wooden cabinets and drawers with memories
green curtains and sofas that are airy
a stained kitchen with white tiles.
the smell of delicious adobo
served in generous heaps
on the table with the faded blue cloth
the smell of instant coffee in the air.
the sound of karaoke bouncing off the walls,
with shared smiles and laughters
clinking of glass with either alcohol or juice
with the crunchy sounds of chocolate or chips.
dogs barking outside for strays
and whining for our attention
adorably wagging their tails
as they savored rubs and cuddles.
the little girl on the mirror
with an innocent, wide smile
her eyes so bright, assured
being inside the familiar walls.
however…
the little girl is no more
as she walks away from the house
waving teary goodbyes on one arm
a heavy bag on another.
she, or rather, i knew
i can always return
but only after many moons
as the world beckons me.
but it hurt.
it aches so much
that my heart bleeds
as i wanted nothing more to stay
if life had been kinder.

Beef Salpicao
The ideal dish saving you time in the kitchen and enabling you to spend more time with your family. This delectable Filipino dish is called beef salpicao. Recognized for its succulent beef cubes cooked in a flavorful sauce with a lot of garlic. It is easy to make and can be eaten as a main course or as an appetizer. One of the greatest comfort dishes ever. Delightful with a bowl of white rice.
To me, food is as much about the moment, the occasion, the location and the company as it is about the taste.
- Heston Blumenthal

Today is me and Plestia's 22nd birthday.
Along with joining on the global strike tomorrow on December 11th, I want to help Plestia's wish of being able to live in her home in Palestine by asking for people to contact the UN to invoke UN General Assembly Resolution 377, which was designed so that the UN can have an alternative choice of action for when a permanent member obstructs the Security Council from carrying out its purpose.
#my request for this year#no justice no peace thousands have been killed thousands are wounded and thousands are displaced from their homes#call to action#united nations#free palestine#from the river to the sea palestine will be free#from palestine to the philippines stop the us war machine

listening to the mean girls musical movie soundtrack atm and for me it's an improvement on some ends and a downgrade on other ends LIKE some songs' instrumentals sound so much cleaner and less overwhelming which is GOOD for a musical movie adaptation but others aka world burn lose the oomph and the dramatics of the og musical counterpart which I understand on a directing aspect but is still quite saddening. that being said I actually quite like the soundtrack-
#aka AULI'I CRAVALHO YOU WILL ALWAYS BE FAMOUS#RENEE RAPP YOU WILL ALWAYS BE FAMOUS#JAQUEL SPIVEY WHY THE FUCK WERE YOU ROBBED#ill give my full thoughts once i get home but yea#some cons some pros but i did overall enjoy the soundtrack#now if only the Philippines were to show the fucking film somewhere#mean girls#mean girls (2024)#mean girls the musical#mean girls musical movie

Cammy went on a trip for a month to meet up with old friends and told Harvey to do the same. So, Harvey had to fend for himself socially without his emotional support fairy and he realized, "Hey, I can do this. I don't need to have Camellia with me all the time to do these things I've been afraid to do....but I do *want* them here."
For Cammy's side, they realize that it's nice to have a home to keep coming back to. The fairy village used to be that, but Harvey's garden is their home now.
And yeah, I cry, what of it?
#its a canon event. but in the back of my mind it would also be the moment they realize how much they love each other#but thats between me and you#ill say this is harvey around 28 when the garden is more homie. hes on his feet now and has a clearer memory of old friends and family#so he would reconnect with cammy's push since cammy travels around alot and makes a lot of friends and tries to visit whenever possible#but cammy doesnt want to be his crutch forever. harvey CAN stand on his own. he was just afraid to take the first steps without em#he doesnt reconnect with his family eli and his parents until 29 ish. he has the means to do it but#there is a fear he cant describe that kept stopping him#cammy goes along with him for this. to meet eli and even fly to the philippines with him to finally see his parents again#THATS where the canonical ending of the narrative is. when his trip to the philippines is over and says his goodbyes#it ends when he says like 'i have a garden back home to take care of' credits roll#and then we have an open ending for all the fanfic writers to interpret and fight about#grow as we go#harvey#camellia#comic

CAR RIDES C. 2017 | FRAMES "Nature persisted in a time and place which tried to tame it, gloriously expanding its limbs to devour the modern world, gloating that no matter how mighty the efforts are, it will continue to take up the space that had belonged to it for centuries." full piece: here

Actually made a drabble this time
Summary says all, haha
If you need a bit of context, Professor Plotfur is a character from the Thea Stilton Mouseford Academy books, as part of the school's new Performing Arts department :3
#thea stilton#thea sisters#geronimo stilton#ao3 fanfic#fanfic#fanfiction#as someone who studied in a theater class for one year in a country that isn't the philippines#it's a whole different breed#like back home they'd just like warm up your voice or whatever and have you read lines and stuff#I didn't know you get to play goofy games and do try not to laugh challenges#i would say that the “hayop ka” gambit is also a common thing practiced in filipino theater but uh#the school i studied a bit of theater in in ph was a sheltered white boi Christian school that had the crappiest extracurricular system#you literally have to do a raffle to get into a mandatory saturday class#if you got uhhhh an animation class that's literally a scam because it just shows you how to make a site with html then too bad#rinse and repeat for all three semesters#so I got into drama twice out of sheer rng and we didn't even get to scream obscenities about how some imaginary dood cheated on us#we did like one christian play and then one where I had to play some girl just getting out of the shower all horny-like#it was weird I had no practice time and no room for improvement because i only had that drama class for one semester#basically it was wack#i dunno if it's the same in other schools but in my school back then it was wack#then I moved to a first world country got into a drama class for my whole last year of senior high and man#I done got scammed /j

I think it’s really stupid to haggle at markets as a person from the global west going to poorer countries like idgaf….? it’s 6 bucks that’s a steal of a deal for you and who cares if it’s priced up because you’re a tourist. now I guess I feel differently if it’s an insane amount like a taxi from the airport costing $100 but if you’re getting a good deal in your currency why not take it …
#gwon#I couldn’t imagine doing that even if I went home to the Philippines like jfkskjf#and that’s literally my home country. but like the prices are already so low ??

Filipino Chicken Adobo
As the unofficial national dish of the Philippines, the most common preparation of adobo in the Philippines involves browning the meat first, then braising with vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, bay leaves, and black peppercorns; the proportions of these ingredients depend on your own preferences. I always enjoy this dish and prefer my adobo to be slightly saucy and savory, rather than sour. Filipino adobo is great with steamed white rice. And if there are any leftovers, adobo tastes better a few days later.
When we are with our loved ones around the table, something extraordinary happens. The charm of a good meal fuels a sense of belonging and connection, and the air is filled with the perfume of excellent food. My father would prepare a weekly batch of chicken and pork adobo while I was growing up. It's a memory I will always cherish.
"I realized very early the power of food to evoke memory, to bring people together, to transport you to other places, and I wanted to be a part of that." — José Andrés Puerta
