From the moment that her parents conceived Khianna, her life began to get mapped out and every twist and turn of her life led to the same end point. She would become a well-respected doctor, have a good and happy arranged marriage, be the mother of many beautiful healthy children and live the life that her parents couldn’t have in their native country, India. At the beginning of her life it seemed like everything was in the right course, that she was well on her way to becoming that successful female that her parents wanted and that she had grown accustomed to wanting to be. At a young age Khianna proved to excel in everything she did. When she was of school age, the young girl only seemed to flourish more and more when it came to academics, science being her favorite subject. Everything was going according to her parent’s plans, from the straight A’s she got in school to how she had quickly become friends with the boy that she would one day marry. However, it seemed like a different life had been set out for Khianna by forces stronger than her parents.

Khianna was fifteen years old when she discovered how different she was from the rest of her family. At first the change terrified her, she didn’t want to leave her room for fear that somehow her power would activate and people would see what she really was. The fear began to take over her life, making it nearly impossible for her to function properly something that her family noticed. Soon enough she had to reveal to them why she had changed so much and to her surprise they accepted her and even offered to help her learn to control and keep her powers hidden. The young girl always knew her family was a loving one, but it wasn’t until that moment that she realized just how loving and accepting they really were. It was that love that helped her get back to her old self and ultimately, it helped shaped her to the person she is today. Her life was once again on the right track. Medical school came next and, like always, she excelled at it. It seemed like every goal she had wanted to accomplish she did. The next goal on her list was becoming a wife and later a mother, however, those were two things on her to do list that she wasn’t able to cross off.

There was an incident with her power that had the government at her doorstep to take her to Lake Grimstone. And having been so close to her family it made leaving her home the hardest thing that Khianna ever had to endure. Even though she loves the fact that the government gave her the opportunity to work in the hospital as a doctor, something she’s passionate about, it still hasn’t made settling in easy for her. Khianna sees how she’s slowly reverting to that fifteen year old girl that found out she was different from those she loved. The inner battle that she is having is quite evident to those that work closely with her. They can see how one day she’s all smiles and then the next it seems like she didn’t even want to get out of bed. Khianna does try her best to overcome the depression she slowly feels creeping up on her but it isn’t always easy for her. One thing she has noticed is that helping others seems to also help her and that is why she loves her job.

POSITIVE: hardworking, intelligent, persistent. NEGATIVE: guarded, quiet, impulsive.

XAVIER DAY

Khianna often wonders if she would get along with Xavier if they weren’t colleagues, but luckily she doesn’t have to find out. Everyone needs a friend on the island and she feels fortunate that Xavier has become that friend for her. In the short time that she has known him, they have developed a nice friendship filled with honesty on both of their parts.

RAINA HALE

If what they say about cats and dogs not getting along is true, then that would certainly explain the dislike that Khianna feels for Raina. She is certain that the feeling is mutual and frankly it doesn’t bother her one bit. Khianna has never once been hostile towards another person but there’s just something about Raina that the woman can’t stand. Most of their run-ins end in one or the other saying something that makes the dislike that they both feel grow even more.

SAPPHIRE ARNOLD

Truthfully, Khianna worries about Sapphire. In a town where there are dangerous powers waiting around every corner, she feels that Sapphire is even more susceptible to being hurt by this. She likes to make sure that the young girl is doing okay and that everything is fine for her – maybe she comes on too strong, but she’s just trying to keep her safe.

ZANE PATEL

Khianna met Zane when he broke in to the hospital blood bank to steal a few bags of blood to train with. He had startled her and after explaining why he needed the bags she gave him two. From that day on they began talking and for a while, whenever Zane needed something for training, he went to Khianna and she handed it over gladly. Since TRP’s takeover, she tries to maintain that same comfort with him, as a patient if nothing else, but she has to admit, she is wary of the organization and all the damage they’ve done, and it does strain that relationship.
