I started reading this Webtoon thinking I'd enjoy reading the first episodes, but then lose interest after a while and stop reading, like I usually do. But it didn't happen. Instead, this became one of my favorite Webtoons. This was one hell of a ride and I'm so sad it's over, but I had a lot of fun while it was still going and it brought me and lots of other people a lot of happiness. I'm so proud of all the characters, who all matured throughout their journey, and of Jimena, for creating one of the best stories I've ever seen. Thank you so much for the laughs and the crying and all the emotions I felt while reading your comic! ♡♡♡

seeing photos of Barnett Newman's Broken Obelisk being installed reminded me of this 1980 photo I bought and then never posted, because it just seemed like fuel on the fire, but the fire's been stoked plenty without it, and it feels dishonest to not point out that there were white supremacist nazis in Houston in 1979, and that no one, probably including the deMenils who commissioned him, knew Philip Johnson was a nazi too.

'Monk' – Tony Shaloub is an OCD Sherlock Holmes on Netflix and Peacock
It’s a jungle out there and Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub) should know. In Monk (2002-2009) he’s an obsessive-compulsive Sherlock Holmes who fights his fear of heights, of the dark, of germs, and pretty much everything else in the wake of his wife’s still-unsolved murder. It’s a challenge just to get out of the house. Luckily for us, he has a mind that won’t be stilled and when he’s onto a mystery,…

I met [Paul Newman] when we were doing Nobody’s Fool in 1994. I was in my twenties and he was maybe 70. He took me out to dinner and challenged me to a game of Ping-Pong. He beat me three times in a row. I remember him wanting to beat me — he was so competitive and it was so much fun and, right there, I felt like I belonged. That never stopped, till now.
He’s one of the only people who showed up to everything. Every show I directed, everything I acted in. Even some small theater with 60 people, some event for a theater that needed help. He and Joanne were just part of this amazing extended theatrical family. I still think that I want to grow up and be like him. That’s corny — no, it’s true. It’s not corny, because it’s him. You want to grow up and be like him, to take his example and learn from it. He was so giving with art and life, and he connected the two, creating something that nobody does or has done.
-Phil’s contribution to a New York Magazine piece on Paul Newman, published shortly after Paul’s death in 2008
