Building Trust in Design | UX Design Tips | Value at Void™
If you are a product manager, then you are surely concerned with the need to earn the trust of your users. You will just need to build a system that integrates the perception layer with the strategy layer. What does this mean?
First, your app needs to look authentic and trustworthy when users first open it. This means consistency: a fixed set of fonts, colors, animations, etc. An eccentric and random design would discourage users from building a trusty relationship with your brand. Inconsistency translates to sloppiness, which is the one thing that you will need to avoid.
The strategy layer is a set of strategies that you use to persuade your users, and that would include the choice of color, copywriting, and information hierarchy. Trust arises with transparency. You need to tell your user what exactly is happening at the moment and what might happen if they move to the next step. Prompts like “processing,” “transferring” are both used to inspire patience from your users.
You might also need to consider user psychology. Blue, black, and grey are favorite color choices for apps of financial institutions since they are commonly associated with trust and reliability.

User-centric Mindset in Design | UX Design Tips | Value at Void™
Do you still remember how to uninstall a program from Windows XP?
You would need to navigate to the control panel, select “add and remove programs,” find the program you want to remove, and click “uninstall” instead of “change”. Comparatively, things are much easier on Mac.
You just need to drag the app to the bin, and you are all set. A simple operation like this can make a whole lot of difference when you teach your grandma using computers. Likewise, a good designer must put usability alongside a beautiful interface.
Did you know that over 72% of all phones in the world run on Android, and most of them come with a screen resolution of 360x640? You might need to consider the experience of these users when you cram all that trendy neo-materialism design on their devices.
User experience design discusses the expression of user behavior and puts them at the center of your design. You will get maximum benefits for your business when you include everyone in your experience instead of giving them difficulties or hassle.

Don’t believe everything you see on Dribbble | UX Design Tips | Value at Void™
Don’t believe everything you see on Dribbble Without a doubt, Dribbble may be the best place for designers to seek creativity and professional solidarity. I would turn to Dribbble every time I feel the craving for some little inspiration.
However, if you are someone who is new to the industry, it’s always a good idea to remember that what you see on Dribbble may not work for real-life scenarios. Professional designers turn to Dribbble to showcase the best of their works; it means that they would use every bit of their strength and try to show you an astonishing website or app design use case.
However, you need to be aware that some UI designs are not UX-tested. Your users may feel disoriented if you copy and paste the interface on Dribbble without doing extensive usability research on it. Second, your beautiful interface may piss off your programmer friend.
For example, the “frosted glass” effect prevalent on iOS could be a pain to reproduce on an entry-level Android device; and your new favorite “neo-materialism” design language can really make the CPU and GPU on your user’s device SUFFER! Even a simple switch from light mode to dark mode means your team has to change hundreds of lines of code. It’s always a good idea to balance what’s offered on Dribbble with your project’s needs.
I hope this was helpful.

Serial - Position Effect | UX Design Tips | Value at Void™
Have you ever wondered why big companies would place their logos on the top-left side of their homepage while the “add to cart” button always stays at the bottom when you order from UberEats?
Due to the “Serial Position Effect,” an intriguing trick of the memory discovered by Hermann Ebbinghaus himself that still serves us well to this day.
Serial positioning is a simple psychological effect that humans are more likely to favor the things they see first. Look at Google, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and all those apps you use every day; most of them would have company logos hanging at the top of your screen, staring back at you until you soak that beautiful business name in your long-term memory.
Comparatively, UX designers would usually place functional buttons like “buy,” “edit”, or “add cart” at the bottom of the interface because the information in this area tends to stay with your short-term memory; it encourages you to bite the bait and buy that jacket you’ve been looking at for the past ten minutes.
I hope this was helpful.
