Headcanon: The Joker forced Todd Phillips to create the Joker movies.
So, here me out on this, the Joker goes to Warner Bros. while holding Todd Phillips at gun point, insisting that he would direct a Joker origin movie. He insists that its because he wants people to understand what struggles he went through before he became the most dangerous clown in Gotham. Of course, this isn't the actual reason. His true reason is that he just wanted to see if he could make a really well made movie about himself, get paid, and have a few people become mad at Batman for punching the mentally disturbed. Think of it as his copyrighted Clown Fish scheme but bigger. Basically, its his way of doing what he did to Harley Quinn but on a mass scale. And just for the fuck of it, he decided to include the Wayne family's murder to screw with Batman knowing he'd hear about the movie or watch it.
Of course, when considering some details of the movie, such as Arthur initially believing his biological dad is Thomas Wayne, it has to occur to you that at that point, Arthur thought Bruce was his younger Brother. This was also done to fuck with Batman because Batman knows very well how his arch enemy feels about him. (This is also a good time to point out that the Joker movie itself is censoring the queerness of Batman and Joker's relationship. Within the headcanon itself, its supposed to make Batman uncomfortable)
Now, within the DC universe, this movie would have either bombed or done extremely well. The reason why I think it would have bombed is because its an inaccurate telling of real world history. The reason why I think it would have been really good is because many people may have known about Joker's habit of inconsistent story-telling and they think that Todd Phillips was trying to present that. Most likely it bombed, but still got a sequel because Joker wanted to try what he did again, but this time, focused on his relationship with Harley to mess with her as well as ruining the previous film.
Now, when considering how Joker met Harley in in the movie compared to how it happened in universe, its obvious theres a departure from the source material...until you consider the New 52 origin of Harley Quinn where she pretended to be a patient at Arkham. Of course, Joker could have enforced the writers of the movie to completely make up an origin for Harley, but lets just say that due to Joker's fucked-up brain chemistry, he recalls both origins of Harley and uses the "newer" one.
I don't know comic Harley's opinion on musicals, but I can see Joker utilizing her liking of them or dislike of them to annoy her. Joker has Lady Gaga get casted as Harley would bother Harley as she likes Gaga's music. Joker also implements personality traits from his current partner, Punchline, into the movie's Harley Quinn. Punchline is devoted to Joker and acts just as sick and twisted as he does, admires him for who he is, and Harley in the movie seems more like Joker's equal than his girlfriend he abuses.
Those are all my general thoughts for this headcanon, thank you for reading.

Always hilarious to me that some think of Steve Trevor as this indispensable part of Wonder Woman lore rather than a holdover from the Golden Age that comic creators spent 40 years either ignoring or trying to get rid off. If it wasn't for Geoff Johns' weird fixation on Silver Age status quos he'd be all but forgotten by now.

Tark: We were earlier, we were at the Erudite's Temple and we did find a tome of drow author when they were talking about their own Underqueen and their own, very briefly skimmed through it, but their own belief in the soul. And I can't imagine that between each of us between the Drow and the Elves and the Halflings and between everybody and that each god would pick and choose how a soul is... Myrna: And why not? You were made by the Erudite. Ms. Wildthorne and I by the Moonshadow. Mr. Hector by the Wildermaid. Tark: Why would that make our souls so different? Myrna: In most cases, it doesn't. To an extent, it's all the same substance. Tark: And then if, let's say, you know someone from, a Drow then, you know comes to the surface and they remove themselves from their own belief, do they then, is their soul picked up by another god? That seems... Myrna: I don't have a lot of experience with the Drow and those from the Underdark. Perhaps that would be something you have to ask one of them. Tark: Yes. Myrna: All I know is the Moonshadow watches those of us who pass Nathaniel (OOC): [in chat] dreven can find out for you next campaign... Myrna: Ensure that we go back to where we're meant to be. Tark: But does she, but is it for everyone or is it just for the ones of her, the ones she watches over? Just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, I mean I'm not... Myrna: Is it supposed to? Must faith make sense? DM: And by this point you reached the door of the temple and she sort of let go of your hand. Myrna: It's faith. There are those who go their whole life without even glancing at an idol of a god, what happens to them when they go? Who's to say? Tark: Hmm. I guess. Okay, one last question? Myrna: Hmm? Tark: If there was ever a moment where I could raise the dead and not through Revivify or simpler means of pulling someone back from the threshold, what would that mean for that soul? Would it be half on one side of the threshold and half ripped over to the other side, do you think? Or would it be plucking them from their resting place and bringing them over? Myrna: I think that depends entirely on the situation. Tark: Hmm. Myrna: I'm going to take a nap now, but I'll have the records drawn up and I will send them along to the Elegant Roses. Tark: That would be extremely helpful, thank you so much. Myrna: It was very nice to meet you, young Chosne. Tark: It was nice to meet you too. May I come back sometime? Myrna: Oh, all are welcome. Are you coming to Mass tonight Ms. Wildthorne? Eudora (OOC): Can I ask a question? How regularly is the Mass held? DM: It's usually... a couple, no, hmm. Probably at least once a week depending on what the moon's doing, I would imagine. Eudora: I imagine she's probably been attending, she's definitely been attending more regularly than she used to. DM: Yeah, so it'd be on the first crescent, on the half-moon, the full moon, the waning and the last crescent. So once a week roughly. Eudora: Yeah, so I think Eudora's just gonna say, "I'll be there." Myrna: So glad to hear it. You have a nice rest of your day. Tark: You also. DM: And she'll head inside the church. Tark: Good to know I'm not going to be targeted by a goddess for dipping into things she doesn't want me to. Eudora: Well, at least not this one. Tark: Not yet anyway, I guess?

Your long and arduous journey has led you to this, the final confrontation. You thought you knew what to expect, but just as you struck the final blow, your ultimate foe's eyes gleamed with unnatural light as they proclaimed…
THIS ISN'T EVEN MY FINAL FORM
A game for 4–6 players
Introduction
This Isn't Even My Final Form is a GMless tactical minigame for 4–6 players. You'll take on the roles of a party of heroic adventurers nearing the end of a world-spanning quest to defeat a great evil, the Final Boss. Unfortunately for them, each time they think they've won, the Final Boss assumes a new, even more horrifying form, and the struggle begins anew. Is there any end to this conflict? There's only one way to find out!
What You'll Need
This Isn't Even My Final Form requires a dozen six-sided dice, as well as a way of keeping track of a few important numbers – a shared text document or some scrap paper will suffice.
Update 2023-10-30: Print-and-play card decks are available here:
http://penguinking.com/this-isnt-even-my-final-form/
Character Creation
Choose two of the following actions to be your Party Member's Class Actions: Strike, Heal, Buff, Debuff. If you'd rather determine this randomly, roll on the following table.
1. Strike, Heal 2. Strike, Buff 3. Strike, Debuff 4. Heal, Buff 5. Heal, Debuff 6. Buff, Debuff
Give your Party Member's Class a name which suits your Class Actions. Also give your Party Member a name; it is traditional but not obligatory for your Party Member's name to have exactly five letters.
Playing the Game
Play is divided into a series of Phases. During each Phase, one player takes on the role of the Final Boss. That player's Party Member does not participate in this Phase; they're trapped, lost, incapacitated, or otherwise separated from the party or unable to act for the duration of the Phase. All other players take on the roles of their Party Members.
The Final Boss player's first order of business is to describe what the current Phase looks like. The Final Boss player can roll 1–3 times on the following table (re-rolling duplicates) to decide on a theme, or use it as inspiration for their own theme. To use this table, roll a six-sided die twice, treating the first roll as the "tens" place and the second roll as the "ones" place, yielding a number in the range from 11 to 66.
11. Beasts 12. Bells 13. Blood 14. Bones 15. Chains 16. Chaos 21. Cubes 22. Eyes 23. Fire 24. Flowers 25. Food 26. Games 31. Gears 32. Glass 33. Gold 34. Hands 35. Holes 36. Ice 41. Iron 42. Light 43. Mazes 44. Meat 45. Mirrors 46. Music 51. Orbs 52. Order 53. Plague 54. Shadow 55. Slime 56. Space 61. Spikes 62. Teeth 63. Time 64. Trees 65. Weapons 66. Wings
Once the Phase has been defined, set the party's Momentum to zero. Momentum is a value which will increase or decrease over the course of the Phase; it has a minimum value of zero, and no particular upper limit.
Play proceeds in a series of rounds, as follows.
The Final Boss Attacks
The Final Boss always goes first in each round. Roll one die:
1–3: The Final Boss chooses one of the following actions. 4–5: The Final Boss chooses two of the following actions. You may not target the same Party Member twice; however, you may use the same action on two different Party Members if you wish. 6: The Final Boss does nothing this round. On its turn next round, it does not roll and instead uses its Ultimate Attack.
Wound: Inflict the Critical Condition on a single Party Member. If the chosen Party Member already has the Critical Condition, it's replaced with the Down Condition and the party loses one Momentum.
Imprecate: Inflict the Cursed Condition on a single Party Member.
Envenom: Inflict the Poisoned Condition on a single Party Member.
Bewilder: Inflict the Confused Condition on a single Party Member.
Counter: If you're targeted by the Strike or Debuff actions this round, after resolving that action, perform the Wound action on the Party Member who targeted you. You may counter any number of actions in this way.
Dispel: Remove the Buffed and Protected Conditions from any number of Party Members.
Enrage: The Final Boss rolls two dice and takes the better result on its next action. The party may cancel this benefit with a successful Debuff action; doing so removes the extra die instead of forcing the Final Boss to roll twice and take the lower result.
Ultimate Attack: This action can only be chosen by rolling a 6 during the previous round. When the Final Boss uses this action, choose Cursed, Poisoned, or Confused: you may perform the Wound action AND inflict the chosen Condition upon any number of Party Members, in that order. (i.e., Wound each targeted Party Member, THEN Curse/Confuse/Poison any who remain standing.)
The Final Boss player describes the outcome of the chosen action(s) in as much or as little detail as they like; control then passes to the other players.
The Party Acts
After the Final Boss has attacked, each Party Member who doesn't have the Down condition chooses one of the following actions, in any order the players wish. After choosing any action other than Defend, the player rolls their dice pool, which is a handful of six-sided dice constructed as follows:
Start with a number of dice equal to the party's current Momentum (initially zero, though it will grow over the course of the Phase)
Add one die if you're performing one of your Party Member's Class Actions
Add one die if your Party Member currently has the Buffed Condition
Add one die if your Party Member currently has the Critical Condition
Roll all of the dice together, and find the highest result. Ties for the highest result have no special significance; for example, if you rolled four dice and got 1, 3, 5 and 5, your result is 5. If you'd ever end up with zero or fewer dice for any reason – either because your dice pool was empty to begin with, or because some effect obliged you to discard every die you rolled – you receive an automatic result of 1.
If an action requires you to target a specific Party Member or make other choices, you can wait and see the result of your roll before making those decisions.
Strike: You attack the Final Boss. Roll your dice pool:
1–3: Nothing happens – either the attack misses, or the Final Boss turns out to be immune to whatever you just did. 4–5: The attack strikes true. The party gains one Momentum. 6: Critical hit! The party gains two Momentum.
Special: If you roll triples or better (i.e., at least three of the same number) on a Strike action, the Final Boss' current Phase is defeated, and you move on to the next Phase. It doesn't matter what number comes up triples.
Heal: You attempt to restore the party's strength. Roll your dice pool:
1–3: You may remove the Critical Condition from a single Party Member. If no Party Member has the Critical Condition, nothing happens. 4–5: You may remove the Critical Condition from any number of party members OR you may remove the Down Condition from a single Party Member. 6: You may remove the Critical and Down Conditions from any number of party members.
Buff: You attempt to bolster a party member. Roll your dice pool:
1–3: You may grant the Buffed Condition to a single Party Member OR remove a Condition of your choice other than Critical or Down from a single Party Member. 4–5: You may grant the Buffed Condition to a single Party Member AND remove a Condition of your choice other than Critical or Down from that Party Member, if they have one. 6: You may grant the Buffed Condition OR remove a Condition of your choice other than Critical or Down to any number of Party Members. You may choose a different option for each targeted Party Member.
Debuff: You attempt to weaken the Final Boss. Roll your dice pool:
1-3: Nothing happens – it turns out the Final Boss was immune to that effect. 4–5: The Final Boss rolls two dice and takes the lower result on its next action. 6: The Final Boss rolls two dice and takes the lower result on its next action AND the party gains one Momentum.
Defend: You may grant the Protected condition to a Party Member of your choice. Do not roll.
Based on the outcome of your roll (if applicable), describe the outcome of your action in as much or as little detail as you wish.
Once each Party Member has acted, return to "The Final Boss Attacks" to begin the next round.
Ending the Phase
As noted above, rolling triples or better on a Strike action results in the immediate defeat of the current Phase. Alternatively, if all Party Members simultaneously have the Down Condition, the Final Boss player's Party Member suddenly breaks free or arrives on the scene and rescues everyone in a stunning deus ex machina; this also ends the Phase, but does not count as defeating it.
In either case, reset the party's momentum to zero, remove all Conditions, and move on to the next Phase. The role of the Final Boss passes to a different player, with preference given to those who haven't yet had a chance to be the Final Boss; the previous Final Boss player resumes playing their Party Member.
Continue until the party has defeated a number of Phases at least equal to the number of players, or until mutual agreement has been reached that all this has gone on quite long enough.
Conditions
Some actions can impose Conditions upon the individual Party Members. Conditions can be positive or negative, and last until specific conditions for their removal are met.
Buffed: Your strength has been boosted. When rolling your dice pool, you roll one extra die.
Confused: You've lost your wits. When the party acts, your action is determined by rolling a d6 – 1: Strike; 2: Heal; 3: Buff; 4: Debuff; 5: Defend; 6: do nothing this round AND remove this Condition. This Condition is also removed if you gain the Critical Condition while under its effects. You may choose targets normally if the rolled action requires them. Confused Party Members always act before their un-Confused peers; if there are multiple Confused Party Members, the Final Boss decides the order in which they act.
Critical: You are badly wounded. Desperation lends strength, and so this Condition adds one extra die to your dice pools; however, if you suffer the Critical Condition a second time, it becomes the Down Condition instead.
Cursed: You've been afflicted with misfortune. Discard your highest result after rolling your dice pool, but before applying your chosen action's effects. If there's a tie for the highest result, discard all of them; for example, if you roll four dice while Cursed and get 1, 3, 5 and 5, your result is 3. If the Condition causes you to discard your only set of triples of better on a Strike action, the Phase does not end.
Down: You are incapacitated by injury or foul enchantment. When the party acts, you may not choose an action; your action remains lost even if this Condition is removed before the end of the round. When you gain this Condition, remove all other Conditions, and the party loses one Momentum. (This is not in addition to the Momentum loss noted by effects which inflict this Condition – those are just reminders.) You may not gain other Conditions while this one persists.
Poisoned: You're afflicted by a poison, plague, or death-curse. If you have the Poisoned Condition after resolving your action for the round, you gain the Critical Condition. If you already have the Critical Condition, you instead gain the Down Condition, and the party loses one Momentum.
Protected: The next time you would gain any Condition other than Buffed, remove this Condition instead. You also remove this Condition if you take any action other than Defend on your turn.

Red Hot Ghouls 10 2/2
Masterpost
Jazz’s roommate Tiffany was fine and all that, but Danny didn’t feel that he was missing out on much when he phased from the stairwell directly into the little ensuite bathroom that connected to Jazz’s bedroom. He could hear quiet conversation from the living room– the TV, maybe?
But Jazz had clearly locked her bedroom door before she left. Danny made a note that Tiffany definitely wouldn’t be finding him and then he starfished on his sister’s bed. He set an alarm for 1 am with a smidge of guilt. It probably wouldn’t wake her up. Maybe she wouldn’t even stay home for the night, she had a boyfriend, right? Or was she the one with the girlfriend who worked downtown?
Whatever. Danny slept like the dead. In fact, he slept through his alarm and woke up to see 7 messages from Jazz. The one showing on the screen was “DANIEL FENTON Tiffany thinks my bedroom is HAUNTED because someone is snoring in there.”
“Oops,” Danny said under his breath. He opened up the clock app and made sure that the alarm wasn’t going to go off again. He quietly pulled open Jazz’s drawers to find a clean pair of socks and a hoodie that didn’t have his university name written on it.
The first thing he pulled out was a baby pink hoodie that had SQUAT written on it in white all-caps print. “I sure do,” he said to himself, and changed into it. It was a lie. He did not lift weights. That was Jazz’s hobby.
He did enjoy the thought of how pinched her face was gonna get when she saw him in her clothes. Danny had a little chuckle over it before he phased back out and nearly fell down the staircase. His arms wheeled for balance.
When he caught himself he looked around to be sure no one saw. The zone was clear. Danny smirked.
“Another perfect landing for the Phantom.”
Oh, duh. That was a thought. He didn’t have to hoof it.
It was dark enough that he reconsidered his plan to walk to Arkham on foot and ducked back into Jazz’s place to transform where no one could see the light show.
He made good time across the stretch of ocean that separated Jazz’s dream job from the rest of Gotham City. He knew where to go, based off of insider information.
Jeremy Waters had landed himself in Arkham, rather than standard criminal housing, because he would not shut the fuck up about the debt the Ghost King was going to owe him and how he would repay it in the blood of everyone who crossed him or whatever. He was in the low security end, given that he was just some dude, but Danny still spend a moment steeling himself to wake Jeremy and (ugh) talk to him.
‘He’s going to take this as positive feedback,’ Danny thought glumly. ‘He’s going to think he’s gotten something in his obsession with me. He’s probably going to be even more annoying.’
He wasn’t entirely sure that Jeremy’s focus on gifting him spouses wasn’t projection. The guy was kinda obsessed.
The weight class difference between the two of them was just absurd, metaphysically speaking. Jeremy was a 52 year old Poli-sci graduate who had ditched a middle of the road career in the Foreign Service at age 40 and started pursuing immortality. Midlife crisis and all that. He had a bit of boxing experience, but that was it. He was just a human guy.
Danny was king of the dead and he could shoot lasers from his hands. He was strong even for a ghost.
‘It’s pathetic that he creeps me out still. It’s just such bad vibes to be pursued by this old guy who won’t take no for an answer.’
Still, gotta do what you gotta do. He blew frost into the room to set a mood and scramble the fuck out of any surveilance equipment. Then he grimaced his way through calling out, “Jeremy. Jeremy. Jeremy!” until the jerk woke up.
…and immediately started genuflecting. “My lord Phantom,” Jeremy whimpered. His whole body was shaking.
Danny wished it was fear. But no. It was excitement, like he was some freaky little purse dog. He shuddered. “What did you do differently in your latest summoning?” he asked. His voice somehow came out cold and superior.
He could see Jeremy’s dazed grin even when the guy was still looking at the cell floor. “I am so glad that you ask, my lord,” he babbled. “I increased the number of ritual participants from 7 to 12. I changed from Kosher to Pink Himalayan salt. I was initially going to offer my humble self as a sacrifice-”
Danny’s stomach lurched.
“But when the Red Hood burst in, I knew that it was a sign!”
The red what now?
“Surely someone whose aura is so soaked in death and brutality would be a flavorful meal for one so horrendous and deathly as you, my Lord,” Jeremy babbled on.
Danny made a face.
‘He thinks I’m going to eat the sacrifice spouse?’ Danny paused. ‘...Was he lying, or does he want me to eat him? What does he think will happen if death eats him?’
He had a morbid curiousity that made him want to ask. But it was probably best not to know. He needed to sleep at night.
“It was the Pink Himalayan salt that was powerful enough to draw my attention,” Danny told Jeremy, because he really didn’t need any good information. “I reject your offering. Stop trying.”
He left immediately in hopes of not hearing the wailing and gnashing of teeth behind him.

Hey mcytblr writers, are you in the mood for a challenge? Looking for something to inspire your creativity? Do you want to make something absolutely kickass? Simply love looking at cool art? What if I told you there was a way you could hit any and or all of those objectives by participating in a mcytblr event?
Well, let me introduce you to the Aufest Reverse Big Bang, currently during Artist Creation period! Artists have a month to make an au mcyt art piece ready to inspire writers, and then writers will have two months to write something 5k or longer, inspired by the art! We currently have over 160 artists in the discord working on their creative pieces, and the sneak previews the mod team have seen has been incredible.
But— we are halfway through the artist's creation period, and we currently have more artists than writers. We don't want any artists to run the risk of going without a writer, so we are looking for more writers! Does writing something inspired by an art piece sound like a challenge you're up for? We're not in the writing phase yet, but we are getting ready for it to start in the beginning of June. Join our discord today, and join all the other writers waiting anxiously for the art to be released next month! We are all sitting around vibrating with excitement while the artists work! It's fun!
We did a poll in the discord today, and we currently have:
62 Hermitcraft pieces being worked on!
52 Traffic series pieces in the works
38 DSMP pieces being created
11 QSMP pieces being made
10 Empires SMP pieces being worked on
1 Origins SMP piece in the works
8 Lifesteal pieces our artists are making
1 SOS SMP piece being worked on
3 Pirates SMP pieces being created
1 MCSR piece being worked on
4 SMPEarth pieces being created
2 SMPLive pieces in the works
1 Vault Hunters piece being made
1 Witchcraft SMP piece being created
2 Sleep Deprived SMP pieces an artist is making
3 Yogscast pieces being created
1 Scenario SMP piece being made
1 Slimecicle Cinematic Universe piece in the works!
And more in the works!
One of these could be your next big project! Come on down to the discord and hang out with us!
And hey, if you're an artist who's just seeing this and you can make an au in two weeks? We're still open to more artists joining too! Everyone is welcome!

One year of fanbinding!
I keep thinking "I'm really new at this still" but I guess after a year, it's like, you don't have a puppy anymore, you have a dog. So now I'm in the dog phase of this hobby.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I didn't make all of these, some were acquired in exchanges.)
In the past year, I have made around 54 books. (For the purposes of my sanity, I am not counting journals or sketchbooks, nor am I counting author/artist copies if the design was the same.)
54 books! In 52 weeks! That's basically a book a week!
Which binds are my favorites?
Ooh, that's hard. I tried to limit myself here, but these all are very special to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I can't choose just one of these:
Tumblr media
Honorable mention goes to this one, but I didn't design the typeset, so I can't take all the credit. But I do love the cover.
Tumblr media
What's my favorite part of making books?
It's not surprising to me that typesetting is my favorite part. I designed a book for a local museum in 2007, and loved the process. Before that, I wanted to work in editorial design (I had a few jobs doing that in and after college, but that was in the olden days.)
I enjoy the part of physically creating the book too, but I find it a bit more frustrating. I'm not detail-oriented enough to make sure everything is perfect, and then I get frustrated when an endpaper is glued on slightly crookedly, or my text block isn't perfectly square. (Not that I have anyone to blame but myself!) That said, holding a completed book in my hands is the most satisfying feeling, after actually reading said book. I feel so smug when I'm reading a book I created.
I have a lot of imposter syndrome when it comes to the actual designing of covers. I know my strengths lie in manipulating existing content instead of creating it from scratch. So I need to stop comparing myself to other creators, and just do my best. We all have different styles, I tell myself.
What's next?
I'd like to learn how to sew endbands for once and for all. I have tried and given up in disgust so many times. I have watched so many videos and read many tutorials, and I just need someone to come to my house and show me in person.
I also would like to try to learn how to draw, a bit. I know I'll never be great at it, but I've also never tried to learn. I will be off work for a few months later this summer/fall, and I'd like to use that time taking some classes. Even if I could just draw designs to use on my covers, I'd be happy. I don't expect to be able to draw things or people.
I wanted to take up this hobby for a long time before I actually did it. I read through @armoredsuperheavy's guide like eighteen times before I worked up the courage to actually use it. So my advice to all of the people who tag my posts with "i wish i could do this" and "i want to do this"…do it!
