Always hilarious to me that some think of Steve Trevor as this indispensable part of Wonder Woman lore rather than a holdover from the Golden Age that comic creators spent 40 years either ignoring or trying to get rid off. If it wasn't for Geoff Johns' weird fixation on Silver Age status quos he'd be all but forgotten by now.

#wonder woman #dc comics #between 68 and 2011 the only writer who gave steve a major role was perez #and that was just as nice guy who helps out occasionally #but even towards the end of his run he started to phase steve out #and for the next 20 years he was barely there #you saw more of his wife during simone's run than steve #because he's naff and etta isn't #he only started appearing in comics regularly again because johns put him in his jl run for new 52 #but hilariously the actual ww comic ignored him completely #i suspect the only reason be became such a big part of the rebirth run was because johns was president by that point and put his foot down #and then the movie was a hit and the editors foolishly thought people liked steve when they really just liked chris pine #and we've been stuck with him ever since #god i hope king's run sees him get phased out again #or at the very least stops trying to make him the undisputed love of diana's live
