Reading the reviews for the Barbie movie made me realise that It's kinda... weird that people are more concerned with young girls knowing what the patriarchy *IS* than how the patriarchy will affect those girls when they grow up

Like, so many of these reviews talk about how the movie (with was rated pg 13 btw) is "inappropriate for children" and how messed up it is that it's marketed to kids (it isn't), but no one seems to take a second and think about how the parts of the movie that are "inappropriate" are the same things that those young girls are going to (or already are) face in the real world

Why are we more concerned with girls learning about the misogyny in society than with the ways misogyny harms girls?

This movie isn't "anti-man properganda", it's multiple women expressing their stuggles, and how barbie both gave them an escape, an outlet, and yet inforced the society that created those struggles to begin with

And the fact that so many people will look at this movie, which is fundimentily about how any power inbalence and discrimination is harmful, and say that it's innapropriate because it shows the young girls being discriminated the ways in which this society *does treat them*, that worries me

I'm binge watching Vampire Diaries and my brain made a first person fanfic while i sleep and i had this weird dream where I fell in love with Tyler Lockwood after we tried to hook up without getting attached, it was cute, friends with benefits to lovers ❤️🥰. I was turned into a vampire at the end because I was so important to him that I was threatened and killed because of something in the plot that I don't remember, but he honestly didn't know the answer. I died and woke up.
