I'm doing a bit of a Q&A about my ChordStriker!AU on insta after sharing this teaser WIP, so I figured I'd present some of the questions here! (Feel free to ask more btw!)

Rock!Poppy

Q: "Is Poppy's family (Peppy & Viva) still with her since the Bergens didn't attack them?"

A: Peppy is with her, but he is confused/in mental decline like canon King Thrash was. Viva is missing. Poppy was old enough to remember her.

Q: "Will Viva play somewhat of a role in this AU?"

A: Yes, she's had a much bigger impact on Poppy's life, even till this day even though she's been missing for many years now. Poppy has never stopped looking for her.

Q: "Is King Peppy still a liar in your AU?"

A: Nah, he's normal. Sometimes hating him with my entire being is hard, so he gets to be a good dad this time. He's just not all there mentally so Poppy is more like his caretaker now.

Q: "Poppy's relationships don't last long because she gets bored... So how long is Branch going to last?"

A: The Rat Pack (Snack Pack) is wondering the same thing, but Poppy's never used the bf/gf/partner labels before meeting him which is strange... 👀

Q: "Does Poppy still party?"

A: She's a total party animal! Her parties are even more intense than a Pop Troll party since Rock Trolls are pretty extreme. LOL

Pop!Barb (Barbie)

Q: "What does Barb look like?"

A: For now, this is her design, it might change once I have time to draw her digitally.

Q: "Does this mean Barb has to go through the events of Trolls 1?"

A: Nope, Barb never befriends Bridget because they have never met. They have found a way to remain undetected in the forest. (Thanks to Branch’s constant nagging about safety)

Q: "How does Barb's gang look? Is there any significant differences in their dynamics?"

A: I haven't had time to finish them all, but here's some of them for now. There's more members of The Lunch Rush, but this is all I have for now!

Val Thundershock → Valentina Wondershock.

Only Queen Barbie calls her Val. She is very optimistic & loves to sing & dance! She's Barbie’s right-hand troll, BFFL & knows everything about her. They have a very... "close" relationship. ;] She's a popstar who's managed by Demo and loves to help make Pop Village a happier place.

Riff

He's a university student studying to be an engineer. He's very soft spoken, doesn't like to make a fuss and is probably the nicest guy around. He's quite close to Barbie and sees her as an older sister. He's actually on friendly terms with Branch. His favorite treat is lollipops. 🍭

Carol

But you can call her Carrie! Everyone does. She's a bit of a diva, loves to look good & dull things bore her. She will ignore anything that doesn't catch her eye, even trolls. Best to be looking your very best!

Sid Fret

Just call him Sid, no need to be so formal. He is every trolls dream guy and he knows it! He's a great roller derby racer and loves the attention trolls give him. Sure, he's a little self-absorbed, but he's a very loyal friend.

Demo

Not much has changed about Demo. He's perfect as he is <3 He's just a little more excitable & cutesy than before. He cares about Valentina a lot & they are very close friends.

Petra

She is the blueprint, she's the moment, she's everything. A model, actress, singer, you name it, she can do it. She's perfect... Who doesn't want to be her?

Branch

Q: "How different is Branch in this AU vs canon Branch?"

A: He is the same Branch essentially, just without the development he gains at the end of Trolls 1 & so-on. None of it occurred, so he is still grey, miserable & a recluse. He helped Barb to come up with a plan to keep everyone safe after nagging & warning her for ages, but after that, he returned to his bunker & is still not well-liked by the village.

Q: "Does she know Branch's whole past? If she does, what was her reaction?"

A: Not sure if you meant Barb or Poppy, so I'll answer for both. Barb—no. I don't think she'd ever find out, and she's also not the type to ask. Their personalities clash a bit too much, she stays out of his way like he asks her to.

For Poppy—I think it would come up naturally in conversation after a while when Branch feels more comfortable sharing. Poppy isn't the type to pry, but makes it clear that it's out of understanding, not a lack of caring. She can tell that he is closed off for a reason. She relates to that. I think she'd be beyond pissed once he told her, though.

Q: "Will Branch's brothers be in this?"

A: Yes, but Floyd will be getting the bigger role this time.

Q: "How quickly does Branch fall for Poppy? I'm sure the answer is yes, but is he happy?"

A: I'd say he's quite guarded in the beginning. He is cautious around her for the first few weeks, but he starts to come around once he picks up on Poppy being emotionally guarded herself.

Things move quickly once their walls come down around each other, & a mutual understanding is there. Poppy fell for him first. (At least, that's what Branch lets her believe, as it was love at first sight for him, but he'd never tell her that; she'd get a big head about it.)

But yea, my au. Romeo, Fred, and Xara are not the only admins in the world. There was one more, her name was Elizabeth. But she was different from the other three as she was created when they combined some of their powers into one being, she was basically their daughter.

Strangely enough, however, she seemed to be just a normal child. No powers, nothing. But they still loved her, and they were all happy.

Of course, that happy life ended when Romeo lost his mind, killed Fred, and bedrocked over the sky. That day was the last time either of the two remaining admins saw her. (When Fred died, xara grabbed Liz and escaped to Fred's Keep to leave her there, telling the people there to hide her from Romeo at all costs.)

However at some point, Elizabeth went missing completely, spending years on her own surviving the Underneath.

Until the present day of my au, after Romeo's powers were taken away. Jesse decides to join him when he leaves to the Underneath to redeem himself, help the people left down there. (she wanted to see xara again too lol) and some other characters go along too- I'm thinking Jack and Nurm, Lukas (maybe to write about the world beneath the bedrock, who knows) Petra might show up at some point.

Because, after the group reunite with Xara, they learn of strange happenings going on in their worlds, things disappearing, pieces of the world dying off, people vanishing.

And that leads to the question: what happens to the world when the powers that created it are taken away? That's right, it starts falling apart.

That is when Romeo and Xara tell the others about Elizabeth because, being the only one of the admins left, she's the only one who can save them and their world.

Somehow, somewhere, they find her and the rest of the story is her trying to awaken her powers to stop the destruction of the world, I guess XD

I might post chapters of the story, fanfic style, but I think most of the time it'll just be random scenes I come up with throughout the timeline. Three sections, one for when Liz was a child, one for Jesse and the gang trying to find her, and the last would be after they find her and she's trying to awaken her admin powers. And ofc I'll answer any questions or art requests for the au :)

Happy Zhongli Day!!!

1. What left the deepest impression on you when you first met him? Was it how he looks, talks, or something else?

Definitely his voice. Hoyo really knew what they were doing hiring Keith Silverstein to voice him. I listened to all the other languages and although I love all their interpretations of Zhongli, they don't hit quite the way EN does when you first hear him. It was definitely a whoa moment. He definitely has that "old wise man" voice.

2. What do you like most about Zhongli as a character?

He's such a comfort character and everything about him feels safe and grounded, from his skillset, his lore, to the very nuanced things like his voice lines. I really can't make up my mind on him. This character has me constantly bouncing back and forth between unapologetic horniness and pure respectful admiration.

3. What is your favorite Zhongli voice line, and why do you like it?

Every journey has it's final day, don't rush. It's such a vibe. He has so many good lines, but this one I feel like I can keep in the back of my mind as a personal mantra.

4. Does Zhongli resonate with something in real life for you? Has he managed to influence your life in some way?

Zhongli has kind of transcended from just a videogame character into some sort of imaginary role model for me. Ever since I found out that one Olympic swimmer was also a Zhongli enjoyer, I felt so validated. He embodies so many values and virtues I hold dear. I started playing genshin in a low point in my life and it's amazing how a fictional character can encourage you so much. His story and all of his voice lines are so well-written and filled with little nuggets of wisdom that even if taken out of the context of the game, can be very inspirational.

5. What part of Zhongli's design do you love the most? Do you have a favorite outfit?

His cake Just kidding! I love his normal outfit most. No matter if he is going out on a walk or attending a formal dinner, he's got a whole suit ensemble on. I'm not a tedious person irl, but I've always admired people that put a lot of effort into their appearance and presentation. If I have to pick a part, I'd pick his tassel earring. It looks like there should be a story behind it.

6. Zhongli has a lot of lore. What’s your favorite story/feat that he's ever done?

I love the Archaic Petra flower lore. It shows a petty side of his character that I just can't help but adore. Zhongli can be a troll and still come out wholesome.

A flower bloomed in a cliff's impregnable cleft. It is an exquisite life shaped by the essence of Geo. There is a folk saying that goes thus: In times of yore, someone told the Lord of Geo that there was no life to be found in barren stone. Thus did the Lord of Geo command flowers of purest gold to burst forth from the face of an uneven rock. Perhaps the Geo Archon did once work such a great wonder. Or perhaps this is but one of the many tales that shroud this ancient world. But the prosperous harbor that grew out of the lifeless mountains, And that braves the raging waters of the Sea of Clouds— Perhaps that was the brilliant flower, after all.

7. If you could give Zhongli a birthday present, what would it be?

I'd give him a safety charm. lol It's something I actually wrote into one of my fics. Obviously in the game he keeps me from literally dying with his shield. I also bought myself a little Zhongli safety charm too. Safety charms are gifts you give to loved ones that convey your good wishes for them.

8. If Zhongli visited you for a day, where would you take him?

I'd take him sightseeing and show him all the places in my city that tourists go visit. Our city has a lot of those, both natural and urban tourist attractions. My wallet would probably hurt, because knowing Zhongli, he would be eyeing all the souvenirs.

9. If you could talk to Zhongli, what’s one thing you’d want to ask him?

Since Hoyo loves breadcrumbing us, we actually know very little about this 6000 yr old god. There's so many theories about him and none of them are confirmed. Is he just a lump of gold? Even though dragon Zhongli is fan-canon, we already know that the exuvia is just one of his many vessels. Zhongli, what the hell are you and where do you come from????

10. Which of Zhongli’s attacks do you like using the most? How do you prefer to use him in a team? What build do you have him on?

I love using his normal attacks. Hoyo is evil for giving him such sick moves and then making him a support. I bet the person who designed that spear kick feels cheated. I do too!!! ---

OMGGGGG this essay is gonna be crazy

i have many favorite scenes so ill give you 3 i havent drawn yet

1. the lukas and aiden fight

in my au, lukas and the blazerods are siblings raised by lukas' grandma. aiden and maya+gill are adopted (maya and gill being biological siblings). while maya and gill appreciated the life they had, aiden was always on a mission to get the most attention and be the "favorite", especially with lukas. he would snitch on lukas for sneaking out to help petra and only do chores to get praise. everything was a competition to him, he had to be the favorite. i could go further into the background of all this but i still have to tell you about 2 other scenes so ill have to cut it short. anyways, aiden still hates jesse ofc. its just most of the episode is centered around lukas because he doesnt get time to shine like petra does for a whole season lol. but yeah the reason aiden hates jesse so much after the witherstorm (before that he just hated jesse for being a loser) is because jesse, loser that he hates, now had all the attention on them, and aiden can't stand to see someone else in the spotlight! especially if that someone else is jesse. and *especially* if that someone else is his brother he's always had this one sided rivalry with.

because this episode is focused on lukas and aiden's relationship, the two of them fight eachother before jesse is able to make it back into the throne room. and lukas can win a brawl but hes not very good with swords, which aiden had. so he gets knocked to the ground, and aiden holds his sword pointed at lukas' throat, and tells him he's always been a spoiled brat and a coward, he never deserved to be a hero, and starts laughing at him and saying all he can do is freeze up like a deer when hes scared (which despite aiden not knowing this, makes lukas feel guilty about freezing at the nether portal again). and at this point, aiden is so off the rails with jealousy that lukas is thinking "is my brother actually gonna kill me right now?" and then jesse barges in and sees lukas with a sword at his throat and charges towards aiden, and their fight happens. i want to draw this scene so bad but i hate drawing 😭

2. recovery after the pama battle

i added a recovery period after pama, because people died and jesse almost did and petra almost did and lukas still wasnt doing too good either. erm basically in their battle petra fractured jesse's ribs, broke his arm, broke his nose, smashed his face into glass, he had adrenaline dragging him through but as soon as petra woke up and was okay he was out. but most importantly this recovery period is ivor's "redemption" and how he learns more about harper.

as the alchemist, ivor has been the "healer" of the party throughout the portal arc, though always reluctantly. someone would break their arm and he'd be all mad about having to use a potion to speed the healing process, and complain about how "you fools are wasting my precious resources on your petty injuries" (he had plenty of potions.) but after the pama shit, jesse almost dies, and because ivor has grown to care about them whether he likes it or not, he actually rushes to help them... he refuses to call them "friends", but these 3 fools are all he really has. ivor prioritizes helping jesse and petra, but harper asks for help too. her people were in even worse condition after being chipped for so long. the first people to get chipped 15 years ago actually ended up dying, and so did many others who were chipped for around 10 years. survivors were in critical condition. so ivor, who doesnt care about anyone, is asked for help. and because he sees himself in harper, he does... he gets harper to find him ingredients and he brews a giant pot of regeneration II, which he has all the survivors in town take a shot from. it's not enough to heal them completely, but it's enough to heal them so they are no longer on the verge of death. its kind of like the turning point of his character. he's still an old grouch of course but a slightly less selfish one. and no matter how hard he tries to push away any guilt, he still deep down feels like he owes something for all the lives he destroyed with the witherstorm.

3. jack and petra talk

i really like their dynamic... that's her dad man... so i wanted them to have a serious talk at some point in the underneath. while on the road to the oasis, the party takes breaks to rest. xara goes out to hunt, so jack volunteers to take watch while everyone sleeps and petra offers to with him. he asks her why and tells her she needs to get her rest, but petra says she cant sleep. they sit in silence until jack finally asks her if she's doing okay. petra says she should be asking this of him, cause he's been the one fucked over by romeo the most. but jack is genuinely concerned, cause he's noticed petra is a more jumpy than usual and been talking less, even to jesse. she's kept to herself since the incident in the sunshine institute. jack starts to ask her about being romeo's champion, what happened, what did he do. and petra doesnt want to talk about it at first, but jack gets her to trust him as a fellow tough guy who doesnt like looking vulnerable. so she tells him all about how romeo made her relive things from the past, would fight her as people she cared about, and showed her friends talking about her behind her back, the things they said about her. (none of which was true- again, just mind games to get petra to side with him) she told jack about something jesse supposedly said to him, but jack told her they didnt say that... whether she wants to believe him or not, it was true. so she starts to doubt what romeo showed her, though not completely.

they talk some more, and jack is the first person who petra tells that she's decided, if they make it through this alive, she's leaving beacontown. but she tells him she doesnt want to leave without jesse cause they mean a lot to her but doesnt know if they feel the same, or even if they do if they'd be willing to leave beacontown just for her. and it's jack who convinces her to talk to jesse and tell them how she feels. cause jack doesnt tell her this but he knows jesse loves her and would gladly go if asked, petra just doesn't see it since she's too caught up worrying if jesse even wants to be her friend anymore

— alliances, part II.

The way I wrote part one almost a year ago lol time flies. Part I still has stuff under her current purview! Replaying and reviewing lines both as a lord and as an antagonist in other routes really illustrates her other (and stronger) loyalties- That being the Empire itself, those who align themselves with it, and her classmates. So that is what I am going to dabble on here!

Adrestia: Adrestia is her homeland! She cares deeply about it but well recognizes its flaws. She will always fight under the Adrestian banner and nothing else. It's best known for being a monarchy with the emperor at its forefront. Adrestia also has strong military might. Edelgard's minor Crest of Seiros comes from Saint Seiros herself in due to the first emperor back in the day.

The empire has diverged from what is once was, though. While Fódlan is presently 3 separate factions, it was the empire that acted as Fódlan's first footing. The emperor position currently lacks power and is therefore just a figurehead in due to the Insurrection. Their relations with the church are not the same as other regions, either. Edelgard wants to change the power structure within Adrestia and even their surrounding territories. Her goal is to grant people power based on merit, not birthright. Being a member of the Hresvelg family also gives her access to information only the emperor knows.

Edelgard canonically starts her plans before she even enrolls at the academy, which acts both in her favor and against. She has more time to prepare nowadays, but also has more time to learn. She has more time to test the waters- To continue her silly little foreshadowing and occasional outright saying of it lol. Edelgard knows which noble houses participated in the Insurrection obviously and has seen personally what ways nobility runs corrupted, which is why she greatly wants to dismantle it and Fódlan's general uplifting of crests. Her interest in wanting to speak with Faerghan/Leicester nobles/people in general is purposeful because she wants their knowledge (and potential alliance-ship) for the future. She has never left Fódlan which is another reason why the academy enriches her. She can't travel to other places, but she can learn about it, which is also why she's interested in politics from other continents, too! Perhaps she can use their boons and banes for herself.

For as much as she does hold some info most people lack, she doesn't know everything. She hardly knows all of the Agarthan lore, their backstories, etc. The information she was told prior to enrolling at Garreg Mach was cherry picked and she is well aware of this fact.

People she's met at Garreg Mach: Bonds are a struggle for her. When Edelgard cares about someone, she means it. It's one of my favorite things about her- Just the way that, even on her path of reformations and unity, she wants to see her friends thrive. And as House Leader, she has an important role she hopes to play effectively. She wants them to view her as a strong leader (even if strict and doting at times) in order to encourage them to do their utmost. She will commend people who have a strong will. This is one of the first things she'll judge people on.

While these snippets are from 3 Hopes, I think the lines are important enough to at least show the way she still cares about her friends despite being on opposite sides of a battlefield and regards them as such, not dismissing the time spent together. She'll say stuff like:

(To Petra) It's been a while, Petra. You know it's not too late for you to come back to the Empire. What do you say? (To Dorothea) Then say no more and prepare to lose once again. I'll drag you back to the Empire myself.

She'd prefer to have them back on her side. Therefore, the same very much extends pre-skip. The longer she knows a muse, the more her convictions about them will be swayed one way or another. Her own is strong and she won't waver no matter what, though. Gaining different outlooks is something she needs, even if she is not always aware of it.

(From Ferdinand Hopes A support) I cannot begin to guess where that idea sprung from, but this is exactly why I need you beside me as we shape the future of Adrestia.

Her dynamic with Hubert is also very important to her (albeit different compared to some of the other bonds she has), but the TLDR of that is she's grateful for her retainer and is one of the few people she does trust. He knows her deepest secrets canonically and does work she is not capable of.

I am also pretty sure I've mused on this briefly, but I purposefully do not have her use the word 'friend' terribly often. It's not because she doesn't want friends lol much the opposite! She does! The feeling of having others she can rely on is greatly cherished to her, but it has to be a grown bond. After walking on constant eggshells, it's hard for her to just befriend anyone. Edelgard is not the best liar though so when she speaks those words of kindness, she means them. She cares for the people in her life and will uplift them/encourage them to do their best.

But she is aware that she walks a path of a lonely emperor. She's prepared her heart to be alone even if she doesn't wish it so. She can't win a fight on her own, nor could she even be a successful House Leader, without others.

The Hresvelg family: Edelgard is the only heir to the throne after her siblings all died from their experimentations. She was not raised specifically to be Emperor, but obviously she was still brought up as a literal princess and therefore is regal/a noble/has a retainer/etc. She always had a rather strict personality, though that is not in due to preparing for the throne. That's just who she is lol.

Her family and what happened to them is an extremely strong factor in perpetuating her resolve. Edelgard did believe in the goddess at one point. It was during her imprisonment specifically that made her lose this trust. Nobody was helping her and she felt very trapped until she ultimately emerged with two crests.

She also knows what happened to her father during the Insurrection of the Seven. He has become just a figurehead and the power is no longer really his. Edelgard holds no ill will towards him. Even in Engage, she muses about this as an emblem in her bond conversation with Madeline:

Edelgard: Mother passed away when I was very young. Father was kind… Too kind for an emperor.

She refers to him as 'too kind for an emperor' and I think she does care about him. I do believe he didn't spend hours and hours with her since he was busy with other stuff and I think she spent plenty of time with her Uncle, even including that he's the one that took her to Faerghus during the Insurrection for her protection (which is why the body snatching is extra Oof). She recalls little of her Mother but she's been told that she was a nice and good person and when she visits the Goddess Tower, she muses about how her parents met there. She even believes they were truly in love which touches her. In her 3H coronation scene though, she says:

Within your eyes, I saw true care. And upon your fists clenched tight with indignity, I saw the blood that dripped and fell. Even as I bled, I felt that you, too, must also be bleeding.

She was speaking from the heart. I have written other HC posts about her siblings before, but I think she was closer to the few younger ones and would definitely watch the older ones. They did not all possess the Crest of Seiros, either. I'd believe whomever the original Hresvelg heir was did have the crest, though. Three Hopes also gave the fun sentence that "there are hunting grounds near Enbarr that the Imperial family uses for outings" so I'm sure she once had fond memories with this activity, too.

She will always keep the promise she made to them. They are allies in heart and mind.

first, I guess I'll link my first AU fic, which I remember being super proud of at the time!! what can I offer through a modern AU? Bernadetta working through her anxieties while cat-sitting with Petra :)

I want to post this one, because it's probably the most different from everything I've written. I love my sappy romance between my favorite pairings, but I love exploring platonic relationships too!! and Petra and Caspar's interactions mean SO much to me, I wrote a fic kind of exploring their relationship between their supports.

ok, so everyone can likely tell I'm a oneshot writer almost exclusively. this is a rare exception apparently (though it's still a shorter, self-contained little fic in comparison to what multi-chapter stuff usually is lol). This is the third Shadowzel fic of mine and the first fic I wrote featuring Werewolf Shadowheart. So yeah, this one is on my mind a lot still.

I don't think I could go without mentioning the Walmart AU fic that got way more attention than I ever expected it to. 🫶🏻

How did you get into AoT? Did you first get into the anime or the manga? And when did you start watching/reading? Was Levi always your favorite character in AoT?

Hi there,

I started out watching the anime, haha, and then somewhere after I think the first part of the final season ended, I picked up reading the manga to see what happened, because I simply couldn't wait, and then I re-read the manga from beginning to end. I remember always hearing about AoT and it being a hugely popular show, but I skipped over watching it a few times because the concept seemed weird to me at first, lol. Giant, man eating monsters and our hero's having to fight against them. It seemed silly on it's face.

But once I started actually watching it, I became pretty much immediately hooked. It's one of those stories where the summary doesn't do it any kind of justice. You have to actually watch it.

Anyway, yeah, Levi was my favorite right from the start. I thought it was immediately apparent that he was this incredibly kind and caring man who simply had a gruff personality. It always confuses me when people say the anime makes Levi seem less caring, because I never got that impression. I thought it was always pretty obvious. It especially became clear to me during the Female Titan arc. I remember, during that scene when the one scout leads a pack of titans to them because he couldn't leave the body of his friend behind, when Levi starts walking toward him, I thought he was going to chew that soldier out for endangering all of their lives. I remember being taken aback, then, when instead he gave that soldier Petra's patch and told him it belonged to his friend. That level of compassion and genuine kindness really shocked me, not because I didn't think Levi was capable of it, but because it really threw into relief the uniqueness of his kindness in such a bleak and harsh world. This same soldier had lambasted Levi earlier, accusing him and Erwin of being heartless and cruel because they said he couldn't go back for his friend's body. But Levi didn't hold that against him at all. He instead did all he could to comfort him. Levi himself lost the bodies of his own squad because of this same soldiers fuck up, having to dump them, including Petra's, to serve as a distraction to save the rest of the scouts, and yet still, Levi had nothing but compassion for that soldier. He wasn't angry at him, or disappointed. He didn't yell at him, or dress him down for endangering all their lives. He instead understood his grief, and that it was his grief that made him act foolishly. And he understood the last thing that solider needed was a harsh word. That he needed kindness. That was extraordinary to me, and made me realize Levi was really the hero of this story. He showed a compassion that I know I myself wouldn't be capable of.

mcsm shipping headcanons!!! (Jesse, Petra and Olivia edition)

idk if i’m doing this in parts or random spurts, but here’s some of my thoughts :)

Jesse is a very affectionate person, so they’ll often hug Olivia or Petra regardless of the situation. On other occasions they’ll just randomly hold either one of their hands, purely for fun!

Olivia confessed first !! Well, by accident- the words just sorta slipped and she got really flustered afterwards. Jesse was super excited afterwards and was basically jumping for joy, whilst being really flustered. Petra was also flustered and just got super smiley and giddy. (they were all swooning) 

Out of all three, Petra is the best cook! Jesse and Olivia love her cooking (who doesn’t). Sometimes they’ll all cook together, just to hangout with each other! Which would also devolve into them just playing around and almost burning whatever they’re making 😅. The only one you can’t trust to cook is Jesse, the last time they made something it was burnt to a crisp. (Olivia and Petra still ate it to humor them, it made Jesse pretty happy)

Olivia tries to keep Jesse out of trouble, while Petra ends up getting Jesse into trouble. (in the end they’d both get scolded by Olivia)

Speaking of trouble! Olivia helps Jesse and Petra a ton whenever they’re injured!! (Jesse the most, since they’re pretty accident prone imo)

Jesse and Olivia would both hate being in large places by themselves and tend to cling to Petra (or each other) a lot whenever they’re out of the house.

Olivia's love language would be gift giving, Jesses would be physical touch and Petra's would be quality time!! (they all try to balance each other out lol)

Late nights are their favorite! Sometimes they’ll all huddle around each other and chat, play some games, gossip and end up cuddling on each other once they fall asleep! (it’s like little sleep overs) that's only a few! but i think they're very cute so have with them what you will <3

I've been reading your Misfit Mania fic and I just finished Chapter 14, and I'm curious: Since we don't see Axel's POV of his fight with Aiden, why *does* he forgive him? Or, at least agree to tolerate him.

this has been sitting in my inbox for a while and ive been wondering how to word the answer. there is one, and ill say this to start: later on youll see axel and aiden become more friendly, but i dont think axel ever fully forgives and especially does not forget what aiden did.

but, given the group's situation during chapters 13-17, and especially their situation in the second half of the fic (chapters 20-40) they dont really have time to deal with infighting. the infighting thats already happening is affecting the other characters (the tension is making calloway more stressed, which makes their wither sickness worse, for example), and thats why petra practically forces the two of them (mostly aiden) into an enviornment where they'd have to speak. she also knows that aiden wont stick up to her LMAO

petra is manipulating the situation for the better of the group and creek, who they're trying to save. does she actually believe that aiden is better? probably not. she wasnt around for the events of the prequel fic. does she know he's still extremely desperate to prove himself to an almost sad degree? yeah. so shell use that to everyones advantage.

pike also mentions that axel's anger is distractingly strong and more powerful than any anger she's felt since she came to the Overworld over a decade ago. this is notable for her, given her origins and what caused her to leave the end in the first place:

as for axel actually "forgiving" aiden, to me, he realizes (and maybe always knew) that he needs to put this aside for the sake of the group and creek. i think a part of why his anger was so intense is that he was having some kind of internal argument with himself; part of him knowing he needs to shove this aside, and part of him fighting to keep it in his head so he never forgets. its a defense mechanism.

a big thing of axels character and how i interpret it is that he hates being hurt, and thinks if he lets his guard down around a person he already doesn't trust in a stressful situation, hell just get hurt again. misfit mania is, honestly, just a massive excuse to explore facets of some of my favorite characters in mcsms cast LOL. axel takes the cake with that, especially in chapter 25 and s2 as a whole.

what's your favorite thing about your style

hmmm. people seem to really like the way I draw lines! I used to wish for the courage to draw with rough sketchy soft or translucent lines cuz I think they are gorgeous. but I've grown to like my precise sharp rendered lines

I also like my cel-shaded style, because it's easy to repeat over and over again yet still has room to experiment with different things like painting and filters. it is also very anime :3333

how long do you usually take on a piece

concept + composition: 30-60 min rough draft: 30-60 min underdrawing: 60-120 min inking 120-360 min coloring 30-60 min shading and highlighting: 60-120 min correction and details: 60 min

soooo roughly 6 to 15 hours? depending on how complex the piece, of course. comics will usually take 2-3 weeks with breaks.

based on file creation times, sleepy linhardt took 12 hours to make from start to finish + breaks.

what inspires you

usually existing media LOL - such as films, games, anime, music, other people's art. I just take ideas from other people's stuff and mash them together. That's why you see stuff from me like DnD+FE3H crossovers.

I'm also inspired by stuff that's missing from my favourite media! Like the supports that never existed from FE3H! Felix & Marianne, Sylvain & Petra, Dorothea & Leonie, etc. I love filling in the gaps left by the official writers :333

This should have been posted yesterday, but I didn't really get a chance to. I spent the previous 2.5 days with EHAN irl, and man they were just so wonderful... I'm so grateful we got to hang out again and do more than we did last time. Went during this time for a multitude of reasons since things lined up perfectly, but most importantly it was like a birthday present to him (5/29) and myself (6/3). We haven't seen each other since October 2017, so naturally I really missed him so much. ;w; That's way too long!!

We got to eat yummy food each day, got to meet his adorable doggy Sparky, met his folks, go through a mirror maze, played a laser busting game?, watch him do little runs of SpongeBob Battle for Bikini Bottom, watch the new Spidey on opening night with his brother, and went to a convention together and even cosplayed which was super fun! I went as Peppino Spaghetti from Pizza Tower (so if by chance you were there on Friday and saw Peppino, it might've been me!) and he was an excellent Cameron from Ferris Bueller Day Off. It was cool how often we were recognized, heheh. Really nice to see people's faces light up like that. Of course, we saw a lot of great cosplays too! Here's a few I saw myself that I got pics of, really nice stuff!

We got to play my favorite beat-em-up The Simpsons by Konami, and I'm glad EHAN and his brother really enjoyed it too! Really cool stuff all around, found plenty of gifts for my folks at home but also a couple things for me. Oh and Petra stuff and even comm'd a Petra for EHAN. :]

I haven't been to a con in 7 years, so being back at such a fun one was something I absolutely needed and appreciate immensely. Good times all around! I'm happy he and his brother enjoyed themselves too.

Here's my loot, though only the Jolteon and black shirt are for me.

We headed to Red Robin later on, and that was nice too! At least for me and his brother. :)

I went with the intention of recreating a certain Bocchi the Rock comic to EHAN. :))

And it worked. :)))

And the waitress didn't believe him when he said it was my birthday too. :))))

Ended the night with some 3 player Mario Party 2 on Pirate Land. We lost to the CPU DK because of usually MP shenanigans lol. Still fun!

And followed that up with me and EHAN rewatching Space Patrol Luluco as we do every June 5th, but a little early this time so it could be irl. A wonderful time as it is every year, but made more special being together and having fun irl! I'll be taking about that more on tomorrow's YDS though. :)

Wrapped up the visit with another good breakfast and visiting a lovely park, I really enjoyed that too.

Again, overall, I totally needed this trip and I'm eternally grateful for being able to do so. I really miss him though. ;w;

And I suppose I should mention a bit how my birthday was yesterday aside about half the day being with EHAN. I received gift art from friends through the day, including right at midnight and even today... Y'all really didn't have to... ;; But thank you so much... And to those who I know may read this and wanted to draw me something or whatever the case may be, but couldn't for any reason, just know it's more than okay and the fact that you even thought of me in the first place means a lot to me already. Wishing me hbd means a lot too... 🥺 So thank you guys too!

Even had a big surprise on the flight back home before departure. Someone close to me with connections actually informed the crew on board that it was my birthday, and if they could deliver a message to me for them, which they absolutely did... Even gave me free snacks and water, and invited me to sit in the pilot's seat which was !!!!!?? It was so cool what the heck... I'm grateful for that... 😭

Nice time spent at home with family, always nice to see them. It ain't a birthday without being with em, I'd say. Nice lil gifts too, they shouldn't have... ;; I do wanna show this Hank Hill in particular, gave me a good laugh and I love it, heheh. The Bocchi doodle too!

But yeah, I just wanted to dedicate this YDS to thanking @ehan281 and his brother for a wonderful time and express my gratitude of a happy birthday too. Hoping the next time we meet won't be so long! ^^

g-witch thoughts! i loved this show, it’s my favorite non-tomino gundam by a mile and while i wish it had gotten the full 50 episode gundam treatment to better pace certain plotlines and flesh some things out, i think it was still satisfying.

spoilers //    and such under the cut.

suletta and miorine get married 🥰 the ending felt like a direct reference to the ending of iron-blooded orphans, with miorine in her suit rolling up at the nice little farm suletta is living at with the rest of their family. two mainline gundams in a row ending on women being married. not that bandai will acknowledge it.

it’s a relatively low-death ending, but miorine and suletta floating in space gave me echoes of fa and kamille, though with an immediate happy ending instead of waiting through zz to see how it went. and it certainly doesn’t have the punch or power of utena’s ending. i think it could have hit those zeta or utena highs with more episodes, but for what it is, it’s simple and sweet.

i warmed up more to the miscellaneous elans as i began to saw them both as a broad comparison point for suletta and eri - el5n unmasking prospera seemed anticlimactic at first, but i think his place as a clone makes that more interesting and it was put into perspective by el4n being who suletta meets in the data storm. and after him barely being a character prior to this, it was amusing to see original elan be like ‘lol anyway later losers, gonna go fuck that jeturk guy.’

the slighter death toll and happier ending also brought me back to utena in some ways, with the elans reminding me in ways of mamiya.

i still wish sophie and norea had gotten some lines from the data storm, though. i liked seeing prospera’s husband and all, but sophie and norea were more interesting so i want some follow up beyond ‘they’re just vibing in the soup~!’

but speaking of nadeem or whatever, wild that kenanji never got any sort of comeuppance for killing him or, like, threatening children and shit. even prospera could not defeat his immaculate tboy swag, good for him. he’s too hot for me to hold it against him.

prospera is a very interesting char clone, and while i think she suffers more in the finale from that rushed feeling than sulemio do, i like the broad strokes. my biggest criticism is the ableist tendency of shows like this to go ‘eh, shaddiq gets years in prison as his punishment, and prospera gets (checks notes) being in a wheelchair’. as though that is a punishment, or that it would hinder her ability to commit further crimes. (her actual reason for not doing so is love of her family, but if i were the council who was about to space laser quiet zero and everyone in it, i’m not sure i’d accept that one as an out.)

but eri being able to connect with her sister reminds me of ple two’s connection to the original elpeo ple swaying her to aeug’s side; and i think we see in char’s ending a similar hesitance about his plan that prospera has, when he revealed he gave amuro the psycho-frame for nu gundam. so i think there’s some gundam history shorthand helping with the shorter episode count, for me.

the tone of the ending prior to the cute mercury family stuff - the ‘well we solved this conflict but let’s be honest it’s gonna last like a decade at most’ - reminds me, again, of iron-blooded orphans... but also turn a gundam, in a way i appreciate. turn a has that same vibe of ‘these evil capitalists are out of the picture, this conflict is resolved, but the ones who remain or who replace them? they are just building more mobile suits for the next time a war comes.’ it’s a happy ending for our heroes, but it’s not a resolution to the class war between earthians and spacians.

for how little time they got on screen, petra and felsi made me smile.

i think it needed more episodes to deal with some of the other conflicts - miorine and her father largely just make up by way of his near-death, for instance - and i could use a couple of one-off episodes with chuchu and her eight union dads or an ojela/nuno comedy hijinks episode. but i still really like it, overall.
