fic recs for hurricane milton?

so, i am in the direct pathway for hurricane milton. dont worry, i am in central florida so i don't have to worry about storm surge! we have sandbags in case of flooding and i cant leave even if i wanted to.

on to the point of this post: fic recs.

The way Michael Fassbender and James Mcavoy talked about Erik and Charles and how Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds talked about Logan and Wade but also how Josh Brolin talked Wade and Nate and him calling a scene where DP falls balls first on Cable's face a "sex scene" and also Tom Hardy saying that Eddie and Venom "are aligned by the stars, are meant to be"...

I hope Joseph Quinn knows I expect similar energy from him next year if someone ask him about Johnny and Peter relationship while he is promoting Fantastic Four

I really dig what Marvels been doing with its most popular characters lately:

Making them into worse/broken down versions of themselves. With deep regrets from their pasts that they wish they could change.

Who get suddenly strung along (much to their annoyance) by a far more bubbly character in contrast, to save that said characters universe from destruction.

Begrudgingly growing a bond with this character

To then team up with a rag-tag team of multiversal losers by the 3rd act

Then to a have a moment of vulnerability with the bubbly character in the third act. Where they also get tricked out of sacrificing themselves by the bubbly character.

WARNING: MY OPINIONS ON THE SHIPS BELOW

In my very biased opinion, Spideypool takes the cake for me. I love the fact that Wade has feelings for him beyond physical attraction. I love the fact that Wade wanted to be a better person because of him. I love the fact that his feelings in the Spiderman/Deadpool comics aren't played off as a joke, but something that actually fueled his character in the comic. I love the fact that Wade doesn't care about people's opinions but gets sad when Spidey thinks negatively of him. I love the fact that they always have each other's backs. I love the fact that they get worried when the other is hurt. I love the fact that Spidey is implied to have at least some kind of feelings towards him as well. And i fucking love their interactions in the comics

Yes, Poolverine is fun. Sexual Tension is fun. The Honda Hatefuck was amazing. But I personally love romantic tension a lot more, and I love how these two's friendship developed in the comics. Call me old fashioned, but I always love a good Friends to Lovers.

Poolverine is more something I indulge in when I want to read things that would make my ancestors cry, and I like reading romantic and fluffy/angsty fics more often. And, with the different world views between Spidey and Deadpool, I feel like it's a lot more fun emotionally.

Don't take this as me hating Poolverine; I love poolverine and I yap about it a lot. I'm also a firm believer that Deadpool & Wolverine counted a romcom. I can't stress enough how much I love that movie and how much I like this ship. I just like Spideypool more.

(Also, im referring to comic Peter guys! 99.99% of Spideypool shippers ship him with comic Peter!)
