Boots on the Ground Dog Portrait Commission

Today I finished another pet portrait commission. The title of this one is "Boots on the Ground" .  Although the reference photo was really awful, I liked the idea of including the boots since the owner of this dog is in the air force.

A quick sketch of the oil portraits of toddler boys from Metropolitan Museum.

How did they make active toddlers pose for the painting? I need to find out.

Right: Manuel Osorio Manrique de Zuñiga (1784–1792), He passed at 8. Poor boy.

Left: José Costa y Bonells (died l870), callel Pepito. As the son of a doctor, he lived much longer.
