everyone wanted sandwiches today so i made some sourdough focaccia.

i was really sad thinking about the italian grocery store down the street from me closed recently. they had the best tomato sauce and meatballs that they made in-house and sold frozen in those pint sized take away containers. then i remembered that i froze a bunch of meat sauce last time i made some and i'm still sad but much less so.
(i was even clever and froze it in ice cube trays so it should just melt if i add it to the pasta and put it over low heat for a bit :) )

😌 vinegar is the superior sandwich condiment. (sometimes it may be a vinaigrette dressing, if I am feeling fancy)
#mayo bad. mustard bad. butter… weird and buttery. cream cheese bad. vinegar perfect flawless no notes#I also accept pesto but of course that only goes with a few specific sandwich fillings#same for goat cheese. does not suit just any sandwich#but vinegar does#also fig jam excellent but again: only for specific sandwiches

Do you ever take a chance on a pre packaged sandwich from a national chain and get absolutely fucked up by how good it is. Anyway I could eat the falafel-tomato salsa broodje from panos every day for the rest of my godforsaken life
#ITS FUCKED UP HOW GOOD THE FALAFEL IS !!!#WITH THE VEGAN MAYO AND THE SALSA AND THE ARUGULA#it’s like this sandwich was made with me specifically in mind I’m so#sorry it’s so hard for me to find pre packaged convenience food that’s both filling and doesn’t make me want to gag#so when I find a place with a yummy cold sandwich that I can eat on the go when I’m hungry and don’t have to pay out my ass for a hot meal#it feels like fucking magic#and it feels like a safety net at least in Belgium. bc I know I’ll always be able to find a meal in the falafel sandwich my beloved#this and the spicy pesto chicken sandwich from Icelandic gas stations. my beloveds.

the lighting is terrible because i had the kitchen light on for pre-dawn breakfast, but this was very good for a quickie before work. shoulda been two egg on pesto but we only had one egg ! so the other was garden tomato and mayo. i might do the same again tomorrow ! or maybe pesto scrambled eggs…

Did the most delicious thing to my toast/grilled cheese this evening… I added mayo and pizza sauce to it… so heavenly 🤤
#August is the most stressful month for VCE students and it shows I’m doing deranged things to my staple diet#You know what also tastes good? Mayo and sweet chilli and cheese. Great with eggs and garlic bread~#I love mayonnaise sm man. Essential ingredient in burgers. One of 3 ingredients in my secret dip I eat out of the bowl.#It completes ruske vejce imo too.#But yeah Dolphin you and I are diametrically opposed when it comes to food 😅#Not that you can help it. Which is why you’d always have a cute portion made to be Gentle On Stomach#I’d make one especially for you :).
