Ya know I like the trend in Japanese games especially where the writing and design team make a conscious effort to make their protagonist dorks. Like I'm sure I've heard that part of the design ethos for Twilight Princess, given its darker aesthetic, was that whenever Link is beginning to be too cool to knock him down a few pegs.
You see it a lot in P5 with Joker. Like even as a P5 fan there's moments where I implode a little from the edge (almost entirely from clips of the shitty anime adaptation come to think of it) but then they'll have Joker eat shit face first when running on a treadmill or give him dialogue options that betray his nature as some sort of eyeball licking cryptid.

It always fucks me up when people talk about the protagonist in P5r by his “real name” because his name in my game is BRAD and it will always be BRAD. All caps all the time.

Have the first part of my P5 x P3 fusion AU cast!: Akmuko Arirusu ( Female Hamuko + Akiren fusion) a mysterious girl, arrested by police she was sentenced to live in Tokyo in Leblanc, Akmuko at first is very quiet and reserved only giving passively friendly remarks but once she’s fully out of her shell she’s very bombastic playful and teasing, she’s the leader of the S.E.E.S. Thieves and excels in Her work as a Tartarverse Thief, she is also a wild card.
Morgis ( Female Aigis + Morgana fusion)
A weird clunky mechanical robot-like cat who appears to be weirdly attached to Akmuko and has allegedly been in the Tartarverse Thief business for quite some time, she’s very doll-like and is the poster child of the creepy little-girl trope, though she can be rather annoying at times she means well, in the real world Morgis takes the form of a cat with robotic limbs. ( 3d printer made)
Ryuka Takemoto ( Female Ryuji + Yukari fusion) A abrasive and sometimes rude girl who means well she has a heart of gold, she’s a Ex member of the Volleyball team who truly resents them for the abuse they did to her causing her to be quite moody at times, but she means well.
Anhiko Sanamaki ( Male Akihiko + Ann fusion)
A courteous down to earth yet normal person he’s famous for his boxing model magazines and has millions of simps, he’s fairly popular at school but doesn’t let it go to his head and remains level headed.
Yuuka Yamagawa ( Female Yusuke + Fuuka Fusion) Shy yet outspoken, Yuuka is one of the most talented digital artists at Kosei high, most of time she doesn’t socially interact with anyone because she’s to busy getting her art pieces done on time, but when she does she acts shy at first but if she’s comfortable around you get ready to hear her ranting about art pieces she finds interesting the future of digital art nerdy things and things that she finds interesting, she is not a navigator.
Their school uniforms are a mixture between the Gekkoughan high and shujin high uniform except for Yuuka who’s school uniform is a mixture between the Kosei high uniform and the gekkoughan high uniform.

People who have played Persona 5 Royal and have read the Mementos Missions Manga… Can I read that without finishing the 3rd semester? Or is there spoilers for the game in the manga?

I'm not sure if I believe the "Wakaba Isshiki did unethical experiments" theory in the fandom, but I do think this is the biggest proof of it in-game:
Because how the hell would she know that?
The first explanation is that she did experiments by sending people into palaces and then testing what happens to them if the palace collapses. Which is messed up for obvious reasons.
The second explanation is that she did NOT test it, meaning she was just making shit up. Which is funny but also would make her a terrible scientist. This explanation is less believable because everything else about her research is too accurate.
There's also a theory that Wakaba did unethical experiments on Akechi specifically. I'm not sure I believe that, since the evidence for it is pretty shallow (like the featherman game scientist experimenting on grey pigeon). But this scene is once again the biggest argument you could make for that theory. The researcher in the image above refers to palaces by their correct term 'palaces', which they say was based on Wakaba's research. But that's only something you would know with firsthand experience of the metaverse. And the only person they know who could access the metaverse was Akechi (that we know of, but i dont think Shido would rely only on Akechi if there were other options).
So yeah this scene is very sus. It's most likely the writers didn't think too deep about the implications. There's no way they wanted Futaba's mom to be sketchy, right? But even if it's not intentional, the scenes and their implications still exist. So in conclusion those theories make sense, I get it, and I don't blame anyone for headcanoning them and having fun. And tbh anyone involved with cognitive psience was portrayed as some degree of unethical (maruki for example), maybe this is just on-brand
