Dick. For the canon isn't real square I am Specifically talking about the Tom Taylor Nightwing run. Usually I ignore bad runs but given this one is ongoing (though about to end THANK GOD and get replaced by Dan Watters who i have high hopes for since i adored his Sword of Azrael (2022) run but i digress) so I counted it. Especially since it's so debated if that run is bad or not, for some reason. I'm a 90s Nightwing truther. I love Dick so dearly and tbh recently I've been more enamored with him the more I read his Discowing era, I didn't used to be as big of a Dick stan as I am these days.

Bruce. Honestly where do you even start with Bruce. I want to fist fight him and also patch him up. He got me into comics and superheroes as a whole but I roll my eyes whenever he shows up in a story. He's a bastard and usually not a good father but also complex and should be dissected under a magnifying glass. I love him dearly. He's also just the worst. I think that's why I love him. I'm always a fan of unabashedly Complicated Asshole Bruce who's generally not always the best person, particularly not to the Batfamily and that being the driving force of his relationships with them, especially in shipping.

And for bonus points, Tim. Because know above all else, I'm a Tim Drake kinnie /deg. He's been my number one for a decade and I've yet to uproot him from my brain. He's literally the Worst half the time and I love him for it. And the canon isn't real refers to Tim Drake: Robin because... that sure was a comic. And that's about all I can say about it. Pre-Flashpoint Tim I miss you so dearly. I think it's fun that I want to put him in a blender and drink the juice but also want Nothing Ever to happen to him.

Y'all, I accidentally smacked the fuck outta face against my door yesterday evening and broke my $500 glasses (I need those to see man- my vision is -5.50 in one eye, and -6.0 in the other 💀).... BRUH my godson had his first parents’ day and i went along coz he wanted me to and the review his white teacher said was so ?????

problem 1 - he can’t communicate in straight english, I.e. there’s always a word or two from another language mixing in. my colonizer brother, the kid knows FIVE LANGUAGES. he’s FIVE YEARS OLD. i doubt the teacher could speak a language other than English???

my friends (the parents) were livid. the teacher was basically saying that since my godkid is half-brit (and not even white, god forbid) only, then of course he’s gonna have a hard time with language and we were like ??? he has no problems speaking any of the languages he knows, and we’re not in ENGLAND. this is a YOU problem. ofc the kid is going to know the local language and it will mix in. he’s FIVE. oh my god???? the racial undertones were rancid.

problem 2 - he can read fine but they’re not sure about his comprehension re: what he read. my friend was like, “yeah WE taught him how to read at home but isn’t it high time YOU also do your jobs?” lmao. the other kids in the class don’t even know HOW to read, and they come at my godkid for this? he should be put in an advanced class at this point.

this is not a cheap school. this is an international British school where expats send their kids and the quality is just so shitty oh my god esp given the insane tuition yall have to pay per kid.

#anyway the day further derailed because godkid 1 & 2 got into a fight #coz 2 threw a pillow and it hit 1 in the eye straight on #needless to say there were lots of tears and we each had a kid to handle lmao #coz 3 is crawling and putting everything in his mouth #I’m so tired HAHAHA I can’t even imagine being the actual parents #I’m just an extra pair of hands and arms trying to keep these kids alive #personal #godkid chronicles #i talk about these kids a lot because I’m with them a lot #since they live so near my office 🤣🤣

The new blanket I got is purple with glow in the dark stars and constellations but unfortunately I sleep with a lamp on to keep the suffocating weight of the darkness away

#okay the blanket is actually part of a full bedset which #i have never owned a matching bedset in my life #and have been using the same blanket since i was like 8 #but when we were at my grandma's for christmas i mentioned offhand that i needed new sheets #bc we didnt have any for a full bed (mine) and i was just using an old stained queen one #and she just goes 'oh i have an extra bedset for a full bed do you want it?'#and i was like ??? yeah????? if you dont need it????????#and she brings out a brand new kids purple star set and im just standing there like what. what. i love purple. that's the cutest bedset wha #AND SUDDENLY I HAVE A FULL BEDSET WITH FITTED SHEETS THE CORRECT SIZE??????#took me over a month to finally have the spoons and the commitment to change to make the switch sjxkdk #i was ecstatic abt the sheets but i was wary abt the blanket and the pillow cases #bc previously i was using some super soft pillow cases i stole from a different bedset (there's a story to that but anyway)#and of course the same blanket I've been using for over a decade #which was pretty worn I'll admit but it smelled like me idk i found it comforting #it was twin sized so it didn't really fit my bed but i basically just become a burrito or perhaps a poorly folded taco to sleep so meh #and yeah i could've just taken the sheets and stuck to my old blanket but the set was so cute.. i wanted my bed to be cute now #turns out. just like the packaging says. it's really soft #the pillow cases probably aren't as soft as the other ones but ig i barely notice #only downside is that the stiffer side of the blanket (the glow in the dark side) rustles easily #which for a 'tuck the blanket up to my ear and under my chin' kinda person is kind of annoying #but im committed. or whatever. so ✨#jay yells #if you've read this far congrats now you know abt my relationship with bedding

Okay, I've been looking into tomorrow's date, and woooo boy did a ton of interesting stuff happen in history on 15th March.

First and foremost, the reason we celebrate, assassination of Caesar. We know it, we love it. We stab it. What no I didn't say anything y anyway, moving on.

The Hungarian Revolution, although not interesting to me, starts in 1848. aka the year everything went to hell and I'm surprised we didn't have a First World War that early on.

Then, probably most interesting to me is the fact Nicholas II abdicates the throne in 1917., ending the 304 year long rule of the Romanovs, AND THEN IN 1990. Gorbachev is elected president of the Soviet Union, which probably led to it's break-up.

that's really ironic, don't you think? Nick abdicates and the beta Soviet Union is set up, and on the same day just 73 years later, it's cursed to take a chill pill because of Gorbachev, and then breaks up.

Anyway, sharpen your knives and get ready, we're swarming the salad boy in the morning.

#ra speaos #personal #listen I grew up Poor and Autistic so as you can imagine I got this pillow second hand as a kid and I’ve had it ever since #I only got a brand new pillow for the first time ever when I was like 18 #but w aforementioned autism I couldn’t let go of my old pillow so I’ve kept it #today I took off its inner cover for the first time in years #(I KNOW ur supposed to wash it like every few months or whatever but like I’ve been using it as a leg support pillow #so it’s not like I have my face on it or anything)#anyways. point is this pillow is DISINTEGRATING #inside the inner cover it has another cover w a zipper and then the pillow itself. both are literally so thin poking it too hard breaks it #the cheap stuffing is all condensed together so at the very least it isn’t messy but like #guys it looks so sad and worn and I refuse to throw it out bc it’ll make me sad :(#besides the inner cover I’m washing now is fine and it’s one of those anti allergen ones so like. it’s fine. it’s fine guys.#aorjrbwhehsjwgshahda the most threadbare and worn pillow you’ve ever seen in your life: put me out of my misery #me. putting the cover back on: shushhhh I’ll reconsider in another 20 years
