BIG WIP WARNING *SOUND ON* GUYS SHOULD I FINISH THIS?!?!? I saw this trend and wanted to hop on it but with my current hyperfixation. I wanted to play with the idea that if Peri dies, so does Irep.

But i really need a moment of Dev having to choose to side with his father or with Peri, and I don’t think he’d choose Peri. And it’ll kill them both from the inside:)

Idea that Peri comes back to Dev but is slightly scared of him. Yea hes just a kid and it was mostly Irep manipulating him. But Dev has wished his parent to be nothing and then left Peri to die.

I like to imagine Magical Backup as more painful than in canon. So imagine with me Peri thinking hes gonna die alone. Or how long was he captured for anyway not the point, thats for another post. My point is maybe he feels like hes on eggshells with this kid. This kid has some dark ambitions.

Of course Peri knows it’s not rational. Dev is just a kid who wants his father to love him. Not some evil mastermind but he can’t shake that feeling that if he goes to far hes gonna suffer again. Or someone he loves. Ignoring that feeling he goes back to being Devs fairy to help the kid in need. He has see so much of Dev that he knows the boy needs someone. He can’t be left alone to suffer like that. It’s a risk he is willing to take but that doesn’t mean he isn’t terrified the whole time.

Imagine if Dev finds out his fairy is scared of him cause he almost literally killed him and his family

So I've only ever seen a *tiny* amount of the original FOP, but I did at one point read about a fan theory that Cosmo got brain damage from granting too many big wishes too often back with Timmy, and personally I kind of think that works for explaining some of the extremeness of his cognition issues and how they vary between seasons & series.

This did make me think of something super angsty for the NW finale though when he and Wanda are trapped with Peri:

The extreme stress situation exacerbates his short-term memory issues so badly that he keeps "re-entering" the awful situation Dory-style and being repeatedly gripped with the gravity of the situation, fears of losing his only child, and the realization that he can't do anything with his magic to fix things, and eventually being just aware enough of the fact that these memory loops are *so* hard for Wanda to see on top of Peri's situation.

As painful as it'd be to see it would also showcase each time just how much he loves his child, offering sweet comforting phrases like a timeloop prisoner and sometimes only coming to a realization that he's already done or tried something to help because there's already evidence of him or Wanda having done it.

What if events taking place after the S1 Finale Peri is somewhat the same (like yeah his personality and shit is still in tact), but now Peri is traumatized beyond repair like half of him is now kinda scared of Dev and Irep ,now has Autophobia and/or isolophobia (a morbid fear or dread of oneself or of being alone, isolated, abandoned, and ignored) , Frigrophobia (a persistent, abnormal, and unwarranted fear of coldness) , and Nyctophobia (an extreme fear of the dark)

,and it's all because Dev straight up tried to kill him by leaving him behind in this cold dark and lonely containment and not making any kind of wish ,kill Peri by giving him magical build up. Not only that but what if despite the trauma....,despite the things

Dev has done to him Peri feels terrible and even feels a sense of self hatred for feeling this way sense Dev is just a traumatized kid/ his god child, for not doing good enough and/or not making Dev happy enough, and for not preventing all of this ,for not seeing the signs sooner to stop Dev's takeover and stop his near death ,

he isn't angry at Dev, he just wants to help him despite all of it ,he just wants to make everything right but Dev definitely won't let him do to "not remembering him", out of guilt (he definitely sees himself as a monster after what he's done to Peri), and out of fear of Jorgen swooping in,

and during all of this ,Peri is just outwardly pretending that he's fine and everything's fine and how everything is fine and always will be ,to the point the Peri just starts having these random outburst

Like give this man some serious PTSD , if S2 shows Peri completely fine, I'm gonna be extremely upset. Like, If you’re going to make Dev complex than do the same for Peri!

I’m not saying Rise Splinter’s exactly like Timmy’s parents but after the last Q&A I don’t think I want a S3 anymore. But I’m still rooting for ANW to get a 2nd season!

Still prefer Rise over the previous TMNT versions…but Mutant Mayhem/Tales of the TMNT is my new #1

Anti!AU Relationships

An infodump about the relationships Peri and Irep have with Cosmo, Wanda, Anti-Cosmo, and Anti-Wanda below the cut! Sorry for not having a doodle or drawing with this one. Enjoy this little screenshot of baby Irep instead, yes, this would be cannon to the au.

Also! New sideblog for the Anti!AU, since most of the posts on @zero-and-crew have gotten a bit buried and will continue to do so.

Peri's post is coming soon! We wanna make sure we get his ref in before sharing everything that's happened to him as a kid.

Peri's relationships:

Peri grew up with Anti-Cosmo, mostly. And the occasional visit from Anti-Wanda, who he adores (she may be a twit, but she's a loving one!) He gets annoyed at her sometimes, just like Anti-Cosmo does. But he loves her nonetheless. She was always the nicer of the two, the one who'd come and make sure he was okay *emotionally.* He'd usually say yes as a kid, even if it wasn't really true. But sometimes he'd open up to her, in hopes that she wouldn't slip up and tell anyone. He'd keep it vague.

His relationship with Anti-Cosmo is more complicated. Anti-Cosmo is a great teacher, or mentor. But he's never been great at being his dad. He lacked the emotional part of raising him. But he was always stable, and even if he isn't emotionally available— his advice is always solid and sound. He can usually get Peri to talk to him over a game of chess, and think through his thoughts *logically* rather than irrationally.

If he needs someone to emotionally support him? He'll go to Anti-Wanda. If he needs advice? Anti-Cosmo. Sometimes he goes to both. Especially if it's about relationships.

His feelings about Cosmo and Wanda are simple. He thinks they don't care about him. They never found him. As far as he's aware, they never even looked for him. He had no reason to care about them even though it hurt that they never looked for him. That changed when they took in Irep. He quickly became jealous, as it seemed Irep started to have the "perfect" life with his parents and his godbrother. The jealousy fuels a part of his hatred for Irep.

Irep's relationships:

Irep has similar feelings. He's jealous that Peri's so easily able to get along with his dad, Anti-Cosmo. It's not that he can't get along with Anti-Cosmo.. It's just difficult. His naturally less evil demeanor makes it a lot harder to find joy in the things Anti-Cosmo enjoy! Sure, he sometimes enjoys the occasional classic torment while he's younger, but not as much as his dad.

As he gets older, softer, things get harder between the two. And, eventually they become no contact. It's not until Peri befriends him, and invites him for a sleepover, that Irep and Anti-Cosmo start to talk again. Though they have their differences, the two are on neutral terms after this.

It's when Irep graduates Fairy Academy that he's really surprised— he expected to see Cosmo, Wanda and Anti-Wanda (she always loved him, and he knew that). The surprise was seeing Anti-Cosmo with them as well— and all of them, getting along for him. Anti-Cosmo's gift, a simple pack of cards, was all he needed.

They still don't talk much, but their relationship is much better now. Even if it's still complicated. That's why, out of the two of them, he prefers Anti-Wanda, her relationship with him was never complicated, but he never gets to see her. Sometimes, he still misses her cooking.

But his real parents will always be Cosmo and Wanda. They raised him, after all. He won't admit it— but he loves them both a lot. For a while, he simply called them "Auntie Wanda" and "Uncle Cosmo" and usually he still does. But that makes it even more special to them when he slips up and calls them 'Mom' or 'Dad'.

He frequently goes to them both for advice, emotional or not. Though, he often times, keeps parts of the truth hidden from them— especially when it involves Peri. For various reasons. Usually to protect them. He doesn't want them to worry.. He's happy to have their support though. Genuinely!

TRIGGER WARNING!¡ MENTIONS OF SUICIDE AND IMPLECATIONS OF MENTAL ILLNESS!

I have this headcanon that the reason Irep is always trying to kill Peri/ doing things that would lead to his death, is because he wants to die himself. Since hes Peri's anti-fairy, if he tried to kill himself, he'd just pop back into existence. He's deeply unhappy with his life, and the only way he can end it is by cutting off the source, Peri. But, he also loves Peri, so he (deep down) doesn't want to hurt him. Irep subconsciously creates plans that, on the surface will lead to Peri's (and ireps in succession) death, but really have a major flaw that lead to Peri coming out of it all safely.
