Just out of curiosity, will the other indie universes in the Player Indie Cross fanfic have human and monster souls (akin to Deltatraveler with the chosen 4 having red souls) or are those soul types exclusive to the Undertale and Deltarune universe?

I'm only going to write one more chapter as it was originally supposed to be a oneshot, so I wouldn't even have the chance to explore that.

Also, it really depends on whether Springtrap was showing Frisk their Soul or his own.

How did the SOUL feel during that period when they believed that they were Chara?

Since they originally thought that they were Frisk, but after their first Pacifist timeline, they believed they were Chara for the longest time, as they explored everything.

What was their thoughts on themselves, and Flowey as well? Since Asriel was ‘reincarnated’ as Flowey, so I guess for them it’d make sense to assume that they are also Chara. What did they think happened and all? Did they try telling Flowey that they ‘are’ Chara at some point?

It honestly thought it had amenesia for the longest of times due to never being able to remember anything of the supposed period of time in which it lived with the Dreemur family, of course that is due to it not being Chara in the first place, so whenever it thought about itself or tried to force anything in relation to the memories to ressurface and failed it usually felt lost and pathetic because it wants to remember its family but nothing is working in order to do so.

The thought of asking Frisk to tell Flowey that it was there and it missed him did cross it's mind at one point but it didn't go through with it because, 1- it still didn't remember those days as sibilings so even if it said any of that it would come across empty and a non-sincere statement, and 2- It knew Flowey would think that Frisk themselves was the one saying that instead of the Soul. So it refrained, especially due to no matter how many timelines it passed it never was able to feel as sense of familiarity with him as it grew more and more accostumated to being separate from Frisk and being a friend to them.

As for Flowey himself. Well, I think it both a mix of pity but relunctance in trying to approach. After all Flowey was the first real face it ever saw in the body of Frisk long before it realise the two of them were separate, and the first encounter was met with violence and hostility from him. That impact left its mark and so even if the Soul is not afraid of him, it doesn't have a safe capacity to learn how to get over that first impression and learn to trust him as it did with most of the other monsters.

The SOUL being The Angel is a whole new layer of irony.

Like, they worship the SOUL, or what they think the SOUL is, but unlike their beliefs, the SOUL is powerless.

Well, they have control over space time, but powerless in another way. They are lighter than light, they have control over causality and is determined to see it through, but they are not known, ever.

All they’ve ever been seen is as a monster (haha).

Also, I like the idea that in this AU, that core strings exists, buts it’s a one sided infatuation on Gaster’s side.

Also, I found this animatic that when I see it, I keep thinking about this AU. How the SOUL kinda cowers and seems sort of afraid of Kris is interesting.

In any case, the idea of the identity of the Soul being very much in fact the Angel is intentional by what I'm writting and you are spot on in the somewhat powerless aspect and one-sided corestrings in the au as a result.

Just because the Soul has a better grasp of qhat it is now doesn't it still doesn't understand itself or anyone else well enough, and so much like how Gaster becomes parasocial towards it, so does it with Susie, creating a sort of chain of attachment between beings just tryong to find their places and communicate with the ones that they care. (Which is even more fucked up when ypu realise that at the end of that chain is where Ralsei is, and he is the only one that can look back and see where this giant link of escapism begins. Relagating himself into the lowest position as he sees himself in.)

And while I can see some people wanting the Soul to be afraid of Kris. That is not the case in my au, they hate each other, even when the Soul knows that Kris isn't exactly to blame for the whole situation and only really denying the Soul it's own body to save the world.

is your wirt constantly crying or is he just stoned as shit? you regurally draw him with red eyes so I'm assuming the former unless he has pink eye or something, but also the image of this child baked as shit killing people is funny as fuck, like children of the corn if it was children of the weed instead

Yes, he has red eyes not because he is stoned but because...

He is hella traumatized. He feels so much guilty for his actions that he stopped taking care of himself, and he is not able to sleep at night and constantly have attacks of panic out of nowhere, suddenly crying and sobbing, or he gets nostalgic and he starts to cry. He cries a LOT, at least one time per day

Also, he eats black turtles

In earlier concepts a friend proposed the idea of Wirt eating raw meat of animals but I realized that him eating black turtles actually makes more sense in the universe, also answering the question of why would Wirt be fast and strong if he has such a bad health, so yeah, now he eats black turtles like Auntie Whispers. No, his madness doesn't come from eating turtles, the turtles don't affect him mentally but physically, and the reason why he doesn't look like Auntie Whispers is because Wirt hasn't been consuming them for a long time like Auntie Whisper probably did, and perhaps it also depends on the person what kind of changes they'll get.

Tho, not gonna lie, I can see him falling on drugs.

In design wise

Now, there is a reason why I decided Hunter Wirt should have red eyes? Yes! Because I wanted it to show how he doesn't sleep at night, that's it. To show how hurt and traumatized he is for everything he went through and everything he has done, and how tired and wild he has gotten to.

Also I added the eyes bags for that reason, tho I changed them for like Adelei's has them since she is the closest thing we have as a "crazy follower" of the beast, and how Wirt became one of the dangers of the unknown

So yeah, now you know how his eyes kinda would be in otgw's style if you want to make a redraw or something you know 👉👈
