Try reflecting on your expectations of yourself and your children. Just “trying harder” and “doing better” may never help you to overcome this challenge because the issue is not with you and your ability to complete tasks. It’s an issue of self-doubt and self-worth. No amount of “getting it right” can “fix” those deeply embedded beliefs of inadequacy. Take a moment to reflect on these questions… 1. What are you saying to yourself when you feel overwhelmed? Write down 2-5 phrases 2. Is that what you would want to say to your child if you wanted them to feel supported? 3. Can you think of anyone who may have said these things to you as a child? 4. How did it make you feel then? Did it motivate and inspire you? 5. What do you wish was said to you instead? Now try to say that to yourself next time, instead. J. Helping Children in the Right Way Parents give the children more than they need, but the irony is that the latter doesn’t value it. Are parents doing the right thing to help their children? Are they training their children to face life challenges? Are the children genuinely intelligent or are they just loaded with information? Watch Vasantha Vaikunth explain the importance of helping our children in the right way.

#24habit Stop trying to be perfect . When you are a #perfectionist, nothing will ever be good enough. That means you’ll keep going back to same task over and over again. How productive do you think your day will be as a result? . So, stop being perfect. It doesn’t exist. Do the best you can and move on. . #Perfection is such a terrible standard to have for yourself and the people around you. We live in an #imperfectworld, we are #human, we cannot be perfect and to ask this from us will only create #frustration, #stress and will lead to #procrastination and fewer results. . Create a #standard that works for you, #goodenough or #excellent or better than a few months ago… compare yourself with yourself from a while ago and not with the perfect images you see on the social media of other people. Each one of us has his/her own struggles. . And if you have a task that needs to be done but you did not do it because you are continuously #procrastinating and thinking that is not perfect or you are postponing it because you think it needs to be perfect, than #justdoit because it has to #bringresults and better “good enough” results than no results. . My question for you: What can you do, finish, send, conclude right now that is not perfect, but good enough? I would really want to hear from you here in the comments. . #31healthyhabits #perfectionism #perfectmanager #perfectentrepeneur #perfectmom #perfectdad #perfectparent #uptitude #uptitudechallenge #lidiadogaru #lifecoach #businesscoach #lifecoaching #coachingtips #timemanagementtips (at Zaragoza, Spain) https://www.instagram.com/p/CESU-RkqSVT/?igshid=14azyn12n1pkw

‘Firsts’: AdoptUSKids PSAs Promote Adoption of Teens in Foster Care
A new series of PSAs are shedding light on the importance of adopting teens from foster care.
AdoptUSKids emphasizes the numerous “firsts” families experience with such an adoption, ranging from getting a driver’s license, inviting a prom date, playing a first big game or weathering a relationship break-up.
The tag for each PSA is: “You don’t have to be perfect to be a perfect parent. Thousands of teens in foster care can’t wait to share their firsts with you.”

Created pro bono by Forsman & Bodenfors New York, the campaign is a joint initiative from the US Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, AdoptUSKids and the Ad Council.

Approximately 20% of youths in the US foster care system waiting for adoption are teens, who face a particularly challenging time getting adopted. After the termination of parental rights, kids ages 15- to 17-year-olds wait on average twice as long for an adoptive home as those 14 or younger.
It doesn't matter how family comes to be – it's often messy, and it's often beautiful. #family #adoption Image H/T @LetHerBeGreater pic.twitter.com/Ff8tokCoQm

“This campaign has made a lasting impact on so many lives since it first launched in 2004, and we’re not done yet,” said Lisa Sherman, president and CEO of the Ad Council, in a press release. “So far, we have helped more than 30,000 youth find homes and are thrilled to watch that number continue to grow as more potential adoptive parents become aware of the issue and give teens in foster care the love and stability they deserve, including the many ‘firsts’ they will experience as a family.”
“Many of these young people are experiencing foster care through no fault of their own,” said Jerry Milner, Associate Commissioner of the Children’s Bureau. “And I believe we must do a better job of highlighting the importance a forever family has on these older youths’ well-being and the impact it plays on their transition to adulthood.”
Even with our stronger focus on primary prevention, Miller added, there will still be a need for foster care and furthermore, some of those young people becoming eligible for adoption. “We know family, by any definition, is the best resource we have to create an environment for young people to be safe, healthy, and ultimately thrive.”
Whether it’s their first date or heartbreak, there are so many ‘firsts’ to experience when adopting a teen from foster care. Join us, @AdoptUSKids and @ACFHHS as we encourage the adoption of teens from foster care – because you don’t have to be perfect to be a #PerfectParent! pic.twitter.com/TdjO19yYSC
— ACF (@ACFHHS) October 25, 2018
The Ad Council is distributing the PSAs to media outlets nationwide this week, directing viewers to visit AdoptUSKids or call 1-888-200-4005 for additional information. Potential foster and adoptive families can also call 1-877-236-7831 for information in Spanish.
Since the initial launch of the campaign in 2004, AdoptUSKids has received more than $595 million in donated media support across television, radio, print, out-of-home and digital media.
“Firsts” is a campaign worth adopting.

The best way for me to #Balance the babies in my life is to always remind myself and others that #BabiesArePeopleToo. I feel like a lot of the #stress and #anxiety that comes up when children are involved is a result of treating them like they are inferior beings. Beings that are only here to cause headaches, get their diapers changed, eat and sleep. (Which is so unbelievably FALSE!) Once our perspectives are changed and we begin to see our #CHILDRENasTEACHERS, we can truly embrace the lessons that can be learned and the fun that can be had ALONGSIDE them (not ABOVE them!) In this way, I am able to #BALANCEbusinessBIRTHandBABIES much easier, because I am not seeing their needs as an inconvenience, but as another beautiful part of life. I am constantly observing and learning, laughing and growing with them. Now, I am not a #perfectPARENT and I thank God for #HISgrace over me and my family each day, providing me with an unlimited supply of #patience and #forgiveness each and every day. I am reminded daily that although I am human, that I am flawed and that I always have room for improvement, I am the perfect parent for #MYchildren and that they are the #perfectCHILDREN for me.

This picture is very deceiving, this is not how bath time looks in my house 😂 This picture is a result of me taking my (unbrushed) hair out of my "mum bun" and flipping it up and down like a lunatic to make them all look in my direction while laughing at what a nutter their mother is 😂 whilst making a feeble attempt to get a non-shaky picture now that I'm going light headed 😜 Social media helps us to share the "perfect moments" in our lives that we want everyone else to see, what you can't see is they've soaked me from head to toe so I'm now bathing them in my undies, my bathroom looks like a swimming pool, 10 seconds before this picture Mikey was screaming because Nicole pulled his hair and 10 seconds after Jack screamed because Mikey there a block at him, Nicole is constantly trying to escape from her seat and it's a miracle if I can get her feet in the appropriate leg holes. Everyone cries at least once during bath time (including me) and if I can get a picture without my phone getting water logged it's a win 👌🏻 If you're sat looking at other people's pictures wondering how they are the perfect parents, the secret is they aren't they just make it look like they are 👌🏻 • • • • • • #mumblogger #momblogger #mumblog #mumlife #bathtime #perfectparents #socialmedia #bath #three #kids #life #love #mumssupportingmums #instagood #instalove #picoftheday #likeforlike #mums #moms #kids #kidsofinstagram #funny #honest #unfiltered
