it's like a mix of anger, feral, emotional breakdown, and complete sadness that just fucks me up soooo fucking bad.

it's like she's a pet who got abandoned by their owner but they see them again after years of sadness and depression of them being gone and leaving them like that and all that anger and sadness just manifest's into one bundle of emotion's towards them they cannot control.

my heart broke for faifa this episode :(

because while yotha was being reassured that his mother does love and want him, faifa was given a glaring reminder that the only purpose she sees in him is keeping the family together. his only use is to be the glue – their mother literally admits that it was yotha that went, she would’ve risked the chance of forgetting the other two siblings entirely. that she loves yotha more than them.

and then she says that she’s leaving for good, and look at his face.

that's the face of that shitty, terrible, bitter realization that he has lost his purpose to her, now. that he has been used and taken advantage of all this while. and that, at the end of it, he’s being thrown away, like a old tool that’s rusted over.

it's the face of regret, of contempt, of anger.

most of all, it's the face of conviction. of a certainty that says he will never receive the kind of love that everyone else does.

see I do find it interesting they chose to share the still of the the dad and daughter reunited with the beagle and you can see buck’s arm blurred in the corner like again this will probably parallel eddie very eerie in some way like what if the mom died unexpectedly and it’s just them two and the dog and the three of them are happy now like they are at a point where they are ready to move forward in the future like as much as the past has impacted them they are ready for a new chapter in their life and it’s how buck feels like he feels like a lost dog waiting for someone to finally bring him to a loving family and he had that with eddie but now like everyone else from his past he’s being left abandoned and not reunited and ready for the future like the family in front of him and you parallel that exact moment of buck saying goodbye to the beagle with his best friend saying his goodbyes at the fire station that same fire station where many years ago he took one look at him and asked “what do we need him for?” when now the only thing running through his mind is it’s always been eddie like eddie has been there since day one for him no matter what and that’s how we get the shot of him in the jean jacket and navy sweatpants at eddie’s house late at night because that can’t be it like after everything they can’t just leave it at that at all and buck blurts out something without thinking and that’s what causes the tension between characters because it’s unexpected because buck says something that he would never say to eddie but again after the way eddie treated him when they were responding on the call and how he’s been feeling about everything else going on he speaks without thinking and it’s not even any romantic it’s buck finally saying something to him about his choices over the whole situation and how he still hasn’t been able to move forward from the past and that is what causes the tension because who is buck to judge eddie who is buck to judge eddie his own best friend like that after everything and that ties back to what oliver said about “when you kind of start to tug at a thread, and, you know, it keeps on pulling and pulling, and you kind of watch a lot of things unravel as that goes” because that would have buck being upset and it’s eating at him alive that he spoke to his best friend like that and that’s where you get the callback to 7x04 with how buck was feeling and you get that paralleled at the same time have eddie in texas as he tries to mend and fix that relationship with christopher but in order to do that they must revisit the past in order to finally to finally be able to move on to the future and with that is where we get eddie’s past explored in texas as he makes the decision yet again to move back to los angeles with christopher yet again but now where he knows his future awaits

why do you think its not retconned?

i edited my other post a bit more to explain but basically its because the nukes are mentioned by c!jack so most likely this is what happens after c!tommy gets his memory back and c!tommy has forgotten a lot. Or could have also been that c!tommy survived the nuke and there was no reset but the talk with c!dream still occured.

I think whether its retconned or not doesn't matter because the outcome still remains the same. I focus on the fact that we got a happier and more closure filled ending for both c!tommy and c!jack and I love it for that. People can believe its retconned if they want to, thats just 1 out of many interpretations. We got a happier ending, I like this new ending but I believe it happened after the events of the nuke and reset rather than replaced it.
