I have wanted to compile reactions from the community for a while now, and today I finally made it happen. I have not editorialized anything, doing my best to copy reactions as written. Without further ado:

i love accs like this and the people behind them. the dedication to search for stuff like this and bring it home. sounds absolutely maddening and i salute them. to sift through garbage theft accs… doing the lords work

The person Im thinking of flat out took OC memes from me and passed off my captions as his own. He gave me credit once from what I've seen and then the other times it looks like he made it up himself. I'm all for tossing memes out there and letting them be wild and free, but this guy twists it and uses it to beg for money on his page. He's got the lobes.

I honestly don’t mind seeing screen shots of my posts showing up elsewhere, it’s inevitable, but the nature of a screenshot shows the source of the post as well as the OP. But this crap is blatant plagiarism. Obviously this person is on tumblr, so I hope they see this. Please do better and have a smidgeon of integrity. Just give credit? It’s really not difficult? Thanks @stolentrekblr for the effort here.

I tracked down a post of mine that you found reposted on the data FB page, and left them a comment. "Hey look, its my post! didn't even crop out my tumblr url lmao. it was much more popular on my blog tho (1,817. notes)" They did not respond. 😒 It only got 344 reactions and 6 comments on the data page though... that page has like 38k followers... at least my posts do well when I post them myself on the Star Trek Shitposting page 🤣

I've made it. I have arrived. I got my 5 second shitpost lifted and put on another social media site, complete with a hazy photo overlay. I have won at Tumblr. I can rest now. I can rest.

Hi!!! Shadow-ban survivor here lol! 💗 Hopefully you don’t mind me popping in here! I had the same thing going on as you - I had a side blog that wasn’t showing up in search nor were DMs coming up 😪 I wrote support and they got back to me in just a day or two! They’ll probably get back with you asap but if not (and you may have done this 🙏🏻) I think what helped me was sending screenshots of what I had going on along with my request! I sent a screen shot where I had circled in red my missing messages and another screenshot of how if you searched my blog url it wasn’t appearing! I wonder if maybe sending photos help push the request through! I hope you’re able to get it everything working asap, and I know you’ll have your blog all fixed up in no-time! ���

Thank you so much for this. I know this is some kind of glitch on this site because a lot of blogs have been shadowbanned for no reason and I would never notice mine was too if I didn’t post couple of gifsets two days ago and they’re still not showing in the tags (btw sideblogs are fine). Then my friend told me they didn’t get my asks and notifications from me, that I didn’t appear in search, etc. And now I noticed my IM’s are gone too💀

In my email I described all these issues but I probably should’ve attached some screenshots indeed (that’s a really good idea, thank you). I’m going to wait a day or two, and if nothing happens, I’ll send staff another letter with a gallery of screens showing what’s wrong with my blog. SETTING UP AN INDIE RP BLOG  :    How to find a url, aesthetic, and the basic set up graphics needed.  This is from my years of tumblr experience and this is meant as more of a start up guide on how to do it.  This is not the way everyone else does it. WALKTHROUGH / WATCH ME MAKE A NEW INDIE RP BLOG.  Like / reblog if this is helpful to you or you use it.

So I’ve seen a lot of twitter roleplayers coming over to tumblr and doing the indie scene.  I have decided to show you my set up process.  This is just what I do and the tips that are helpful to me.  This is how I do things and might not work for everyone but it covers just blog set up and not how to get followers,  how to start threads,  or terms common in the rpc.  If you need help with anything?  Just send me an ask!  Like / Reblog if this is helpful to you.

url help    :     I do a lot of ofthe,  of,  the,  isms   at the end / beginning of urls or I like to to take a characters name or something and add c’s or x’s at the end of things.  So for example using these two methods we are going to take ELIZABETH SALTZMAN and make two url ideas out of it.   ofelizabethsaltzman or elizabethxaltzman.  I could go ahead and use these urls for characters then in hopes that one would work for me.  A common thing that I hear is “all the good urls are taken” and that might be true but you can make a kick ass url using these methods that isn’t taken.

after making your account you are going to want to confirm your email.

After that I start thinking about the kind of aesthetic when I think of a character! Making a long list

With this in mind,  I can now make graphics / find a color scheme,  etc.  Write down objects, colors,  & feelings that pop up in your mind when you think of your character.  The more that you have on this list? The better off it will be.  If you want a more organized list?  Here is a template to use and start throwing everything together.

make a google docs / carrd with your RULES.   I have a long post explaining what is good to have in your rules page.

I don’t do AESTHETICS for my rules pages and things on google docs because I want everyone to be able to read it all easily.  So it is with little formatting and a few graphics here and there.  Nothing large or anything else..

3.  a PINNED post is a must with all of your links.  A style example of how you could do your pinned post is here.  The example of the screenshot is below that you can use but credit would be nice.

Now I am not saying copy straight from people  (asking people who have the aesthetic thing that you like if it is unpopular if you can use it with credit? Is the way to go).  Now,  making another list of all the aesthetic things that you like for graphics. Scroll through your favorite rp blogs,  make notes of TRENDS that are in use that you love.

This isn’t a large list at all.  I like lists so damn much to help me so that is why we are constantly making them but you can skip that all together and throw something awesome together.

Now onto my promo !  Wait at least 24 hours after making the blog to post the promo to hopefully make it into the tags.  Follow a few blogs,  like a few posts,  etc.

To be safe?  I use the first FIVE tags as that is what I know goes into tumblr’s search system.  Don’t use curse words in your post or tags either on a post even though it would be nice and fits the muse.  Tumblr doesn’t like it much.

Go through and click things off that you need / want off on your settings.

This might be a trial and error to get exactly what you are wanting your dash to look like.  I had to decide what was wanted and what wasn’t.

Formatting your replies.  I list out all of the things that I liked.  Pick out of the several things the ones that you REALLY want to keep.  Don’t do all of them because it can be hard for people to read but one or two of them?  Not as bad.  I have tutorials on formatting up for everyone to use to help understand coding,  some aesthetic placements, etc.

Another thing that might be helpful is write up a few sample pieces with your chosen format? So that way you can see what it looks like and use it when you get stuck.

If you have a personal server?  Make a section (check out my tutorial on my personal server).  Also,  I make a folder to put all of my resources there. This is from my other blog but still very helpful and worth it.  I have everything at my fingertips and can easily get to everything I need with a click or two inside of a folder.

When you meet Colson, he’s famous, but he’s not, you know, famous famous. You meet on the set of The Dirt; he’s one of the stars, you’re a production assistant and stand-in when they need it, and you don’t think for a second that he’ll even remember your name when this is all over. 

But he does; in rehearsals, you’re the one reading the lines for the characters they haven’t cast yet, and the first time the four main cast members see you, in your floaty, floral top, and your gentle aura, and then to hear you say, with absolute sincerity, ‘your mom’s a cunt’, it has them bursting out laughing. You smile, sweet and kind, and you step gently through the blocking that has the character you’re currently standing in for, stabbing Tommy - Colson - with a pen. 

Maybe the juxtaposition of you taking part in this whole production is what intrigues him.

When filming starts, you’re still around, and something about seeing you, amid this performance of debauchery, and yet you’re still sincere and gentle, your choice of attire making you stick out like a sore thumb amid the leather and grime. At first, he tries to play it off, that you look somewhat out of place and it’s eye-catching, but you bring the cast food and water and whatever they need, you go on coffee runs, and take a genuine interest in each of them, and by the time he realises that his mood lifts every time he walks on set and sees you there, he knows he can’t play it off as you catching his eye for completely platonic reasons.

He asks you out the week after Casie leaves from visiting set, having seen you interact with her, entertain her while Colson was in hair, treating her with just as much kindness and respect as you did everyone else on the production. It convinces him that your intentions are true, and he knows that he can’t finish this production without shooting his shot.

By the time the wrap party comes around, you’re calling him your boyfriend, at first tentative, looking to him for confirmation, but then you see the way he beams at how the words sound when you say them, and you grow more confident each time you say it.

It’s met with... confusion.

Really? 

It seems no-one saw that coming - if anyone, I would have expected Douglas - you hear, and frown. 

“What does that mean?” You ask; a frown is rare to see on your face, but you’re wearing it anyhow, and the woman your speaking to splutters her way around a sentence as she’s trying to backpeddle.

“I just- I mean, well, Kells - Colson - he’s so... Doulgas just seems more... refined? Not that Colson not, you know- you’re just -”

“I’m just what?” You ask, not accusing, more curious than anything else, and the woman’s voice dies in her throat as she looks you over; pale blue jeans and a pastel, patterned button-down that would have looked right at home in the eighties. 

“I’m just concerned for you,” she eventually says, laying her hand on yours like she’s trying to do you a favour, “Colson’s intense, I’m just worried you’ll get hurt.” You see what she’s trying to say, but her tone is so painfully condescending. 

“I’m an adult,” you tell her, tone understanding but firm, “and I appreciate your concern, but I promise I can take care of myself.”

The moment you can get out of the conversation, you find Colson, talking animatedly to one of the makeup artists, and you slot yourself into the space by his side. Automatically, without even stopping the conversation, he wraps his arm around you and pulls you close, and you gratefully take the moment to press your face against him, wrapping your arms around him without saying a word. It’s both strangely intimate and familiar, his thumb rubbing small circles against your side.

As he stops talking, there’s a lull, and you don’t have to look up to know the makeup artist is giving you both a strange look.

“Ignore me,” your voice is muffled against him, using one hand as if to waive off any last bits of hesitation. 

“They’re fine,” Colson assured, tapping you on the hip. He’s still oozing casual confidence

You’ve been together for almost half of filming, which isn’t exactly a short amount of time, but usually you try and keep things professional on set, so it’s nice to be able to be close to him in public. 

The rest of the cast know, of course, you’ve been out with them on several occasions, and they all have come to adore you just as much as you adore them. Something about hearing Daniel drunkenly assure you that if Colson ever hurts you, that there’d be a line of people ready to slap some sense into him. You try to brush him off, endeared by his drunken affection, but he turns suddenly to the rest of the cast.

“Hey, hey, hey - who’d throw down for Y/N?” He asks; without hesitation, Douglas, Iwan, and Colson raise their hands, eyes wide and alert, as if the offer needed to be acted upon immediately. The show of support has your heart swelling in your chest.

You find yourself fitting into his life back in LA easily; while beginning work as an assistant on a Netflix original series, you call into his house in the Hollywood Hills, delighted to be privy to demos and snippets from his next album. 

And you meet his friends, shake their hands and smile and chatter with them. They’re not sure what to make of you at first, no-one really is when you present yourself in conjunction with Colson, but soon they start to see what he sees in you. It’s endearingly genuine and thoughtful and honest and enthusiastic and -

“They’re like sunshine,” it’s Rook’s Instagram live, almost six months into your relationship with Colson, that really cements it to the public. Rook is smoking in Colson’s living room in the middle of the afternoon between recording sessions, and someone asked what your deal was. 

“I’m so sick of - and I know Kells is, and Y/N too, not that they’d ever say anything. ‘ve never heard them say a bad word ‘bout anyone, you know,” Rook hits the blunt again, his face scrunching up, “but everyone ‘round here’s so fuckin’ sick of people talkin’ shit ‘bout ‘em. For real, Y/N is sunshine, nicer than all of you motherfuckers put together,” and he laughs, but it’s clear he isn’t entirely joking, “- you know what?” He asked, eyes lighting up and standing abruptly, grabbing the phone.

“Baze, man, you seen Y/N?” He calls, and Baze responds from somewhere off-camera that you’re outside. The comments are going off, but he pays them no mind, heading out to the backyard, only to see you by the back fence, peering over into the trees, on your tip toes, one hand straining over the fence, in shorts and a singlet in sunshine yellow.

Rook calls your name.

You shush him loudly, and then, without looking at him, slowly wave him over.

As he approaches, he can hear the telltale sound of a bird chirping, and as soon as he gets close, he hears you whisper -

“I think they’re bluebirds,” you murmur, and finally look back at him, lowering yourself, surprised to see his phone held aloft. He tells you he’s live streaming, you wave awkwardly, which is when he sees the slice of banana you’re holding, “I’m not sure what they eat; do bluebirds eat banana?” You ask, a little helpless, looking at Rook, and then to his phone. 

After a moment, you step aside, and gesture for Rook to take a look over the fence, and sure enough there’s a nest with a single, rather sad looking bluebird with it’s wing bent at a strange angle, calling out pathetically, obscuring a few eggs, just out of arm’s reach. While he’s looking over the fence, also trying to reach them, and also trying to get the phone close enough to see if anyone watching the livestream could identify the bird or offer any suggestion, he hears your footsteps retreating.

“Stay there, I’m going to get Kells,” you call out to him, voice bright, “he’s got long arms!” And Rook bursts out laughing; you weren’t wrong. 

While waiting, he sits against the fence and answers a few more questions, until he looks up and sees you, expression concerned, and Colson uncharacteristically fond as he lets you lead him by the hand.

You show him the nest and ask for him to get it, worried the bird was hurt, and he obligingly reaches over the back fence to gently collect the bird nest, trying his best not to jostle the bird. The bird’s wing appeared to be broken, and Rook ends the live when you mention that you’re going to take the bird to the vet.

Already, the fandom is exploding from what had transpired. 

People are making suggestions as to what the birds should be named, people are claiming your caring and sweet personality is completely fake, people in the live managed to screenshot Colson’s expression as you’d lead him to the birds, how smitten he was with his hand in yours, and have started posting ‘get u a man who looks at u like kells looks at y/n’ all over twitter and tumblr.

“Bird update!” Several hours later, Colson posts a series of videos to his instagram story, “for those of y’all who don’t know, Y/N found a bird with a broken wing in a tree out the back of my place, we rescued it and it’s eggs, and took it to the vet,” and with that he flips the camera around, from a close up on his face, to show a large, cardboard box in the corner of the room. 

Peep Davidson was written in large, black letters on the side of the box.

The rest of the videos are outlining what the vet had told you all, and that the bird should only take about seven days to heal before you could put them all back into the wilderness. 

At that, he pauses.

“You worried about putting the birds back when you saw that cat the other day?” And he angles the camera to reveal you, laying with your head in his lap.

“The orange one?” You ask, voice heavy, as if he’d disturbed you when you’d been right about to fall asleep. You yawn, and he confirms, you give a little, lazy shrug and smile, “not sure where that cat is.”

“Fuckin’ hell, babe,” Colson laughs, “you gotta stop finding random animals in my backyard.”

“They find me,” you counter, and shift so you can press your face against his belly, humming contentedly as his free hand begins stroking your back. 

“Snow White-Cinderella-Pied Piper motherfucker,” how that is somehow the softest, most gentle words to ever leave his lips, is utterly baffling, but there’s so much love and adoration but you turn enough for the camera to catch your delighted little smile, “you’re-” he starts, “who’s that dude from that, that My Hero shit we were watching the other night?”

“Koji Koda, you weeb,” you tease him fondly, knowing exactly who he’s referring to, and that’s where the video ends.

That’s the day it’s confirmed for the rest of the world. There’s countless paparazzi photos, and hints, and speculation, but this is the first time he’d called you anything but your name, and they’d all seen you snuggling up to him, your head in his lap.

This also is the day the trend begins on his Instagram story of a photo of you, usually in his backyard, with whatever animal had decided to befriend you that day.

My partner. My backyard. No fucking idea who’s animal that is.

And he still goes out and gets fucked up, and sometimes you’re there, and sometimes you’re not. When you’re out together, it still doesn’t quite make sense; he’s hard partying and over the top, and it seems like it wouldn’t be your scene at all.

But then there’s photos of Colson and a few of his friends standing on the edge of a roof, announcing that they’re Kings, and you’re by his side, smiling and waving at the person taking the photograph. He manages to get himself injured pulling a stunt at a friend’s house party, but you’re in the back of some influencer’s vlog, straddling his lap with tissues in your hand, him holding you secure as you clean up the scrape on his forehead; it’s kind of sickening how in love he looks, as he watches the way you concentrate. When you notice his expression, your own softens, and you lean in to give him a kiss. 

And so you start to make sense, but people still ask why.

So when asked, you tell people that you support each other, and challenge each other, and yeah, that’s absolutely why you’re together, but it’s not the whole reason as to why you make sense.

Because no-one sees the way you hook your finger into his belt loop at the back of his pants at the house party, and you press a kiss between his shoulder blades, and he knows exactly what that means. He’s quick to make some flimsy excuse to leave as you step into place by his side, which everyone he’s speaking to immediately sees through. You play at being flustered, tucking your embarrassed expression against him as he slings his arm around your shoulders, and calls an Uber.

The drive back to his place has you both on edge with anticipation, his hands all over you in the back of the car while you try to hold a civil conversation with the driver. It’s killing you not to give in, but you know it’s worth it. 

“You’re such an idiot!” You announced, grinning from ear to ear the moment you get into the house, before the door’s even closed, and he slams it shut to press you against it. Kissing him feels like a cathartic release, but after a moment you shove him back, loudly admonishing him for taking part of a stunt that got him hurt.

“You could have been seriously hurt!” You keep poking him in the chest to punctuate your words, and he steps back each time, expression alight, pupils blown wide. He keeps reaching out, as if to touch you, to snag your clothes, like it’s a game when you smack his hand back every time. 

“Got a gnarly cut though,” he pointed out, as his ass hits the kitchen island. His legs open, making space for you, and you step into it.

“Gnarly cut,” you murmur, tone surprisingly derisive, and you reach up to push his hair back from his forehead. His head tips back, leaning into your touch, the look on his face almost dreamy even as you’ve got a hand on his hips, pushing him back on the counter. 

Then you’re in his lap on the counter, hand fisted in his hair, lips on his neck, leaving bruises and bite marks. He’s trying to get you naked, efficient and desperate, but the moment he gets your shirt off, you push the fruit bowl behind him onto the floor, and push him back against the granite countertop. 

“You were worried about me,” he smirks up at you, admiring you with your hands planted either side of his head. 

“Because you don’t worry about your damn self!”

“Ooh, breaking out damn tonight? Must be serious,” he teased, deliberately riling you up; he loved this side of you just as much as the sweetness. Instead of responding, you reach up under his shirt and rake your nails harshly down his chest and stomach, delighting in the way he arched up at the sudden sensation, eyes falling closed. 

With one hand still flat against his belly, the other comes up to cup his jaw, gentle at first, before your fingers move to caress his throat, and you press yourself against him. 

“If you get yourself killed, I’ll kick your ass,” you whisper, lips inches from his as you press firmer against his throat. He grins, and sighs, the sound content and syrupy and so fucking into it, leaning up, to meet your lips with his, to feel the pressure on his neck just a little more.

And you bite, and you scratch, and you ride him on the kitchen island. The location is new, but the situation isn’t; once he’d discovered the righteous, sexual fury you’d been bottling up, he’d been more than happy to let you unleash it on him. Not to say that he didn’t give as good as he got; there’s been several times he’s had you swearing a blue streak, seeing stars, desperate and blissed out in equal measure.

But then there’s your dominant moments, the mean streak, and the teasing, the sting of your nails and your teeth and the way you push him around, into the mattress, against the wall without hesitation, and that he covets. No-one else is allowed to see you like that. To be tied up or blindfolded or or punished or pushed around, at your mercy, it’s as close to Heaven as he’s ever felt on Earth, because he knows without a shadow of a doubt that your heart is kind, that you’d never really hurt him in a way he wouldn’t like.

You make him feel safe.

And it’s not just the sex, you’re never dismissive of ideas or suggestions, seemingly always ready to help if he ever needs it, rather than judgmental. It makes him want to be there for you too. 

He wants to be better for you.

Which is kind of terrifying to consider.

“I love you,” he tells you in the shower, in the afterglow, soft, pausing where he had been washing your back where you couldn’t reach. It wasn’t the first time he’d said it, but he felt like he needed you to hear them.

“Love you too,” you say around a yawn, though the words are as genuine as they’d always been coming from you, and you lean back against him, leaning your head against his cheek in a moment of quiet intimacy. You try to kiss him like this, but turns your face directly into the shower, and end up spluttering and breaking the moment.

Colson chuckles softly, stepping back and pulling you with him, out of the stream of water and into his arms so he could kiss you properly. You’re still giggling as you’re wiping the water from your eyes, looking at him with fond adoration. When you settle your arms around him, you quiet down and bask in the moment, his forehead coming to rest against yours, warm and safe in his embrace, sensing that, in that moment, he felt the exact same way.

as you say, i think it’s quite personal if you prefer to use main/side blog. i use tumblr for acnh only, so it’s my main blog. if you like to interact with other content than acnh, i would personally advise having a main and side blog to separate.

the main reason i don’t like side blogs though is that all interaction will still be from your main blog. meaning, if you for example comment on or like a post it will always show up with the main blog url. so i find it’s harder to interact and communicate with other acnh blogs when they are side blogs because i have to remember which main blog url they are tied to… that’s why some people write this information in their bio for example. for this reason, i would recommend using a main blog for acnh if you want to interact a lot with others 😊

It's the 5th anniversary of your callout blog, congratulations! I was wondering how life is after that whole ordeal, did you have any self refection? What would have you done differently? Do you still believe you haven't done anything wrong?

I’m going to keep this brief (edit: was going to keep this brief) because I am 90% sure this is not being asked in good faith. You’d have to be a total fucking moron or willfully ignorant to believe that I believe I’ve done nothing wrong. I’ve fucked up a lot. To the people who I’ve felt that I’ve hurt who did not deserve it, I have apologized to them. To the people who I’ve said nasty things about who have repeatedly proven themselves to be awful people, including the person who created that callout blog in the first place, I don’t owe them any apologies, because they’re shitty people. I think the very strong evidence pointing towards the person who made my callout blog being the very same person who had made Vade’s callout blog months before should speak to how they view other people, as mere stepping stones to get clout who are discarded and thrown to the side as soon as they’ve outlived their usefulness.

Keep in mind, my biggest crimes are just saying no-no words and attempting to call emergency services for a teenager who was threatening suicide. The kind of people I talked shit about were guilty of things like stalking, ripping people off by taking their money and never giving them the things they paid for, abusing their partners, using people as ATMs, and in one case abusing an S.O. to the point of driving him to suicide, crying on the phone to his sister who found his corpse about how THEY were going to commit suicide, not showing up to his funeral, and using his memory to get pity from people on the internet about how much of a victim THEY were, while never even attempting to contact his family or pretending to give a shit what they went through.

That last one is Vade, btw. Vade has been pretty much rendered toothless since me and a few others actually decided to stand up to them because they were doing shit like doxing fanfic writers they didn’t like and sending those dox to the writer’s past abusers.

So am I so terribly sorry I called Cuteosphere a cunt or questioned idislikecispeople due to the fact that she was provably a massive liar who bullied trans men and used the money donated to her on video games instead of insulin? Nope. Am I sorry I quoted a meme with the word “nigga” in it that got EMAILED TO MY FUCKING BOSS in an attempt to get me fired? Still no. My boss saw right through that flimsy attempt to paint me as a racist and advised me to contact the FBI. She said that if I were actually racist, she would have been able to tell after I’d worked there for over a year, but all these people who see screenshots out of context who have never spoken to me a day in their lives were convinced otherwise.

I don’t apologize for trying to call an EMT from a teenager who was threatening to commit suicide, an attempt I treated very seriously, only for them to back down and then, weeks later, tell me that they never even meant it? That they had lied to me? Nope. Can’t apologize for trying to save the life of someone who was lying to me about wanting to commit self stab, no matter how many fucking randos they threw at me to get me to stop being so gosh-darned angry because they were doing all this after I had gotten mad at them... after being deliberately provoked. I’ve had at least one experience where I met somebody at a con and they liked me a lot, said I was nice, and when I mentioned my Tumblr URL, they were surprised because they had me blocked. My story has stayed consistent over the years. The stories of the people who have a vested interest in making sure people know I’m a bad person? Their stories change constantly. That’s not a coincidence.

If you came here in genuine good faith, I am sorry I came off as aggressive and defensive. People have tried to fuck with me, and when you have people who won’t stop poking you with a stick, you get wary of anybody that approaches you with some sort of stick-like object. Hi this is kind of a part 2 to my how to make a page post.

This is a very simple tutorial, you need a basic understanding of how to use the customize page but that’s all! If you want fancier faq pages you can install them from various theme makers but this will just look like a text post on your blog but with an ask box attached to it.

A combined FAQ/Ask page is pretty much your basic ask page but with a bunch of text. It can be used to put a little about me blurb or actual Frequently Asked Questions.. which.. nobody really reads but it makes your blog look cooler to have one so here we go

Here’s what my FAQ Page looks like, you don’t have to have nearly as much text as I do but I’ll walk you through how I did this plus how i made that little section at the top in a different color (it’s the bonus step at the very bottom!).

Step 1: Open up your blog in a new tab and click the customize button (the one that looks like a paint palette)

Step 2: Scroll all the way down on the left sidebar panel until you see ‘Add A Page’ and click on it so it opens up a new screen

Step 3: in the URL section, write the url of your page. You would call it ‘faq’ , ‘message’ , ‘contact’ or something along those lines. In the Page title section, write the title of your page - something like ‘Send Me a Message’ (clearly I forgot to do this until near the end of the tutorial so those fields are empty in the other screenshots but bare with me)

Step 4: Type up your FAQ/About/ Whatever you wanna put on this page in the text box.

Step 5: Click on the HTML button within the Add A Page editing screen NOT the main customize edit html button. 

Step 6: Decide where you want your Ask Box to be placed, above or below your FAQ text. If you want it to be above, copy this code and paste it above all of your text. If you want it to be below, copy that code and paste it below all of the code. In this example, we’re placing it at the top. On the preview it should have a not found gif but it’s acting up and not loading.

Step 7: Your ask box won’t work yet until you’ve changed YOURURL to well... your url. My url on this test blog is drxgonflythemepreviews.tumblr.com so I would replace YOURURL with drxgonflythemepreviews. If your ask box still isn’t working, make sure it is enabled on your blog settings page. https://www.tumblr.com/settings/blog/YOURURL

Step 8: Click on update and it will probably still show a not found gif or say you don’t have permission to access the page.. blah blah blah. Hit save, open your blog up in a new tab and see if your ask box appears. If it does, yay! You did it!

Step 9: BUT WAIT! How are people going to access your link? Well we have to go into the main html to find that. Make sure you save your page, click the back arrow on the add a page box and scroll all the way back to the top of the customize panel and click ‘edit html’ hit ctrl+f and type in ‘/ask’. Change /ask (the word in green) to your faq page link. Mine is called ‘message’ so I would change /ask to /message. If you want to change the name of the link as well (mine is contact- written in white) you can change it to Ask, FAQ, Message, Contact, Mail... etc.

If you are using one of my themes (my older themes haven’t been updated, sorry!) You can ignore the above instructions for this step and instead go to the main customize panel. Scroll down until you see the text field for ‘ask link’. Change /ask to your new faq link. Mine is called message so I would change /ask to /message

Step 10: Click save, open up your faq page in a new tab and it should be done! You’re all set! I hope this was easy to follow, if any of this is still confusing please send me a message and I’ll try to clear it up for you!

Bonus Step 11: Adding colored text to your FAQ page

(Keep in mind, depending on your theme colors, you may already have colored text on links or bolded text. This is just how to make regular plain old text colored)

Open up your page again, type out the line you want in colored text, and then click on html.

Copy and paste this line over your first <p> on the line you want to be colored

<p style=“color:#COLOR;”> 

Choose the hex color you want from here and replace COLOR with the hex code you want. Hit update and you should see the text color changed! If it didn’t change, try retyping the quotation marks, sometimes they don’t transfer over when pasting.

If you want more styling to make that text different from the rest, like I did below, you can also alter the text alignment, font weight, font size, font family and more.

1. how did you get into graphics / gif making?

i wanted to color my icons for my roleplay blogs (since i was editing usopp’s anyway to change his lips & and darken his skin) and then i just sorta changed the scale i worked on? um i think i wanted to color a promo for myself for it too but i think i ended up just getting distracted / otherwise not finishing it smdgfdsfj and then i kinda figured. wow i wanna work on coloring, but i don’t like my art, so then started coloring stuff. recently i’ve been doing it more often b/c i’ve been inspired by other graphic makers, namely you, @ii-luffy-i, @lesbianjinbe & a couple of people in the bnha fandom (that i’m embarrassed to tag ;;)

edit: here’s an example of the icons that i started with (with luffy & usopp as the characters, respectively): as u can see they were Super small, & thus only took like. 5 minutes each once i got good at them, so transitioning into larger projects was….. hard. also im just rmmring some rly funny threads i had with usopp & kaku (me as usopp, my friend as kaku) mfdlskfjkdkg… aka usopp being worried abt his doppleganger  //  i had two of urls linked here like 5 min ago but honestly im embarrassed of my writing so im deleting it DSGKJD

4. what do you enjoy about making graphics?

they’re pretty!!!! also, a large part of the fun is finding panels to do specifically, & doing so really makes me appreciate the little details in the backgrounds / how the paneling works / just general visual breakdowns that most likely i otherwise wouldn’t’ve consciously noticed.

5. what do you dislike most about making graphics?

mmm when i spend a lot of time on something (like.. more than an hour) & don’t end up liking it? it just feels disappointing. i post it anyway b/c this blog is mostly for keeping track of my own art progress in a more organized fashion but still,,, also that like a month ago i’d been creating them more for the response (the likes/reblogs) than my own enjoyment, & so when they didn’t get noticed i felt really down & didn’t appreciate the process? so i’m trying to do it more for myself ig… i hope that makes sense ;;

i don’t really have wips? usually, anyway. in the sense that either i finish them or i abandon them in the middle, but either way they get posted so there’s not really.. anything to put here? i’ve only gone back to a graphic more than like. an hour later twice, usually because my learning is evolving so quickly (that sounds kinda arrogannt but i mean that i’m constantly learning) that by the time i look back on it either i don’t wanna mess the good parts i did up, or if i changed something i would want to redo the entire thing.

DAVAO CITY – If there's one thing positive about surviving the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) other than being alive, it is the renewed faith in God and in our fellowmen. This, according to Dean Ortiz, the spokesperson of the Department of Public Works and Highways in Region 11 (DPWH-11) who, until his positive test result for Covid-19 on Oct. 27, thought he was "very careful" enough not to contract the dreaded virus. For one, Ortiz heads the DPWH-11 Covid-19 Coordinating Group, ensuring health protocols are practiced across the organization and its linkages. He said nothing was more terrifying when a supposedly good Tuesday morning filled with positive energy was broken by a Viber message with an attached screenshot of a document with his name on it, in a screaming red, all in capital letters: "POSITIVE". “I guess what happened to me was leadership-by-example personified,” Ortiz said, adding that up until he spoke to the Philippine News Agency on Sunday, his exposure had not been traced to any person or group of individuals. “I underwent an RT-PCR test along with some colleagues on October 27. It wasn't really required because I didn't have any symptoms, to begin with. It was more of an act of leadership mixed with a bit of smugness and confidence, as I always thought of myself as the last person on earth to catch the virus,” he recounted. Ortiz said he was "very careful," especially in his line of duty, and especially because he has a family to take care of. Hours after his diagnosis, he was picked up at home by a van with a crew clad in full Covid-19 protective equipment, he said. Leaving his house with a blank thought, Ortiz said he felt weird sitting at the back of an unlit van where he can only hear the occasional thud, the van's engine, and human voices of the faceless crew. “No facial expressions to draw emotions from, as if emotions had a place in the uncertainty I was faced with. The sound of my own heartbeat was very reassuring and I found myself saying a prayer,” he said.

 Filled with fear, he entered a patient care center that he described as a well-lit facility "but everything around was pitch-black." He said the scene was straight out of a post-apocalyptic movie—dark, cold, terrifying, surreal. “I declared that this was where God wanted me to be, where I will get the help I need, recover, and do some introspection. Whether I like it or not, I am no longer my old self. This experience has changed me already and I intend to come out of it bent in places, but definitely not broken,” Ortiz said. Hope, resentment As soon as he told everyone the news, he said he received a string of calls, social media posts, and private messages that were encouraging and sympathetic. “Some told me to stay strong, to leave everything to God, and not lose hope. Others were not so kind, their words full of resentment, blame, just a tad short of "good riddance." I felt violated and weighed down by insults,” Ortiz shared. In his line of work, however, Ortiz said he learned to be patient and tune out negative things. “I’m used to being called a lot of things. Name it, I've heard it. In from one ear, out from the other side. But in my delicate state, I couldn't help taking offense at the vitriol that was being thrown at me from all sides,” he admitted. "People aren’t crazy enough to get the disease intentionally. I remember my boss saying: Who wants to get it in the first place? His wisdom lingered in my mind through the whole ordeal, he added. Coping up with newfound friends Despite being feeling helpless, Ortiz tried to call people whom he said he never thought that he would ask moral support from. And to his surprise, he said he received no judgment from them. “They reached out to me with genuine compassion and concern and offered to help in any way they could. I had their support and it felt like a huge load was taken off my shoulders. When you're in distress and at your lowest, these small gestures make a world of difference,” he said. He recalled that his first day in the facility was a thrill as the sun was up and he felt cheerful. He checked his surroundings and saw the wide and airy open spaces perfect for jogging, good landscaping, and a perfect spot for plane-spotting. He also tried to make friends with his co-patients, whom he described as “positive with Covid-19 but at the same time positive that they will all get through of it somehow.” “We shared stories of what happened to each of us and how we got there. In the end, we shared one story – discrimination. The hardest part perhaps of being infected is the fact that too many people know too much about the disease yet choose to be uneducated, even ignorant, on how they treat people who have the dreaded disease,” Ortiz added. Coming from different walks of life, he said they all found friendships and saw themselves equal inside the patient care center. “I know these guys won’t forget me for giving them a bottle of ice-cold Coke once in a while, a welcome treat given the circumstances. Good thing I have a good set of friends and relatives who never turned their back on me when I asked for help, as my family back home was under strict quarantine and were forbidden to get out,” he said. Modern-day heroes Ortiz said the doctors, nurses, and their support staff were attentive to their patients as they can be seen coming around the facility three to four times daily to serve their meals, check their vital signs, and clean their rooms. “We may not see their covered faces, but their big hearts showed through and shone like sunlight. I wish I could do more than thank them profusely for their sacrifices, knowing that they too have families and loved one’s back home. Yet, they were there for us, egging us on to beat this disease and easing our suffering while they themselves suffer,” he added. With that realization, he said he lost all reason to complain. "It goes without saying that, during this pandemic and when this is all over, let’s honor their selfless contribution to our country," he said. Along with his “co-positives”, he said they were blessed to have hot meals sent to their rooms every night, and the food served by the city government was not hospital food but that the meals were well-planned, flavorful, nutritious, and satisfying, making his confinement much more bearable.

“I could only imagine how much the city government spends daily on people in isolation and in hospitals. So don't talk to me about how a minor flaw in the Davao QR system and the minor inconveniences make you curse the city government to high heavens. Who are we to judge? Wake me up when you find a perfect government,” Ortiz pointed out.  Renewed faith On November 5, Ortiz was released from isolation after testing negative for the virus. He thanked everyone who helped him get through the toughest eight days of his life. Under the new protocols, Ortiz and his new-found friends inside the patient care center were required to spend 10 days in isolation, counting from the day they underwent the swab test. “Looking back at the experience made me renew my faith in God for giving me another chance to savor the greatest gift I could ever ask for -- my wife and two kids, my 80-year-old mom, my sister, and our working student all testing negative for the virus. Not even the news of a Spice Girls reunion or a Coldplay concert in Davao City could ever match that. God indeed is the greatest,” Ortiz said. He also said that his experience gave him a reason to believe that being (Covid-19) positive ends when positivity begins, and when one allows hope to prevail amidst all the negativity. “Allowing other people's baggage to weigh you down would not help the process of healing from the disease and the stigma that comes with it. Revenge is tempting but a big waste of time. Karma is now digital, so they say,” Ortiz said. (PNA)
