𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Also the kind of person where if you tell her something that happened, she’ll be like: “Oh, something like that happened to Steve, once. Didn’t end well.” And then never follows up on who Steve even is or what happened to him. You are left in mystery.

𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 She makes sure you have a good sleeping schedule and healthy meals !!

𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 They’re important, just like routines. She definitely enjoys the two of you having a daily routine together. Part of her day is exclusively scheduled to spend time with you.

𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 She definitely does not want to involve you in her cases, she wants you to be safe and a lot of her cases involve dangerous epithet users

𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 Even if you have an epithet yourself, she still worries. Criminals are unpredictable, as she says.

Everyone at camp is terrified of you

I mean its said that people are scared of what they don’t understand

And you’re sort of an anomaly

Not to mention that you’re able to turn ppl to stone, the only barrier separating them and you, bding your sunglasses

Also because you closely resemble humans/ demigods

Yknow, besides the snakes instead of/ amongst your hair, scales here and there, and your eyes

Especially since Medusa isn’t known to be particularly fond of men, so it leaves much to think about and question

Then again, Athena-

Anyway

Many aren’t fond of you, that’s a given. I mean many campers weren’t very welcoming of Nico and his status(?) as son of hades so I can only imagine the treatment you go through

I mean at least everyone has the decency to pretend to be nice to you

But the tension is still there

The first day you were introduced was by Chiron, usually he’d leave the camper up to the counselor these days but you’re a special exception (along with Percy)

So bam, new cabin for not a god but rather Medusa

I’d imagine a lot of discourse, especially since it’s only for godly parents and the whole pride aspect

But eventually, with much persistence from Percy and others who are willing to back you up, you get one

Which is only a result of them being proven wrong by your origins and proven to be a nice person

Also, might I add, you’re likely here because of being mortal/not completely monster and need protection like many demigods

Anyways, Nico isn’t at camp all that much

Especially since he has this idea that many people aren’t fond of him (which changes throughout the series)

When he hears about you through the grapevine he’s intrigued

He never thought that someone such as yourself would even exist but then again he could say that about the gods and Olympus

Only once he finds out that you’re treated like shit (at the start of your stay) does he go to find you and see what your deal is

And he’s pleasantly surprised

You pass all his standards

Oh, and did I mention don’t be an asshole?

You were more than pleasant to hang out with and he found himself looking for you amongst the crowds of demigods at camp

He looked forward to seeing you again

Only then does he realize how he’s fallen in love with you

He never would’ve imagined he’d ever fall in love with a son of Medusa, but here he is

He’s admittedly hesitant to confess to you

It’s so obvious too

You’re at the lake like you usually are

You tend to spend time there when you’re not having fun at arts and crafts or training with weapons

This is the time of day you two usually hang out and that’s only proven more by the fact that Nico is seated right next to you, gazing at you

Almost lost in thought but then you snap him back to reality- wondering what’s up

That’s when he just tells you, he almost shrinks away until you tell him that you reciprocate his feelings

He’s honestly shocked by the whole thing and just stares at you until you hesitantly hold his hand

From them on you’re officially boyfriends and he can’t emphasize how happy he is to have you

The sun isn’t always shining and so bad things are bound to happen, what’d you expect? You two are a demigod and a half monster (?)

Your origins might be a mystery but you know better than anyone not to fear the dark

So when Nicos having certain days where he’s struggling, he’s glad that you can embrace all of him

Change of tone but you and Nico are just chilling as Jules- Albert drives you places when Nico realizes something

He’s never seen your eyes, or rather, looked you straight on

I mean you’ve kissed, hugged, etc etc but he’s never seen you without your glasses

Which how could he? He’d literally be turned to stone

But that doesn’t stop him from wondering

His eerily long silence next to you prompts you to ask him what’s up

And finally after much convincing that ‘we listen and we don’t judge’

He tells you

And of course you laugh but just because you find it endearing that he wants to

Of course it’s something that never goes anywhere but if he asks a Hecate kid if there’s stone proof potions- well that’s none of your business

Chapter 4

“I am curious to hear your assessment regarding Bella Swan.”  Athenadora uttered that same afternoon.

You opened your mouth only to close it with a smirk decorating your lips, “I could tell you now and our eavesdropper would only listen to the conversation or we could include our visitor in the conversation so we have plenty of perspective.”

Athenadora grinned wolfishly, “Come out eavesdropper.  There’s no point in hiding anymore!”

A blond, curly-haired, lanky vampire stepped into view.  It took you some time to remember who he was.  Then it clicked.  This vampire was Jasper Hale, the youngest of the clan and the one that Aro told you about who struggled the most with the Cullens’ animal diet.  Aro had gone on to explain that it wasn’t due to lack of self-control but Jasper’s struggle with the diet was due to the fact that his gift was sensing and manipulating emotions.  Since emotions were affected by hormones that travelled in the bloodstream, it made sense that Jasper would have more difficulty controlling his desire for human blood than the other vampires in Forks.

“I did not intend to eavesdrop,” Jasper stated solemnly with his hands clasped behind his back.  His posture was stiff and he spoke in a formal tone.

“Sit.”  Athenadora ordered.

At the same time, you and Jasper sat down in the comfy chairs that furnished the room.

“Your assessment?” Athenadora prodded as she too sat.

“Bella has demonstrated that she is willing to learn and to be taught,” you stated, massaging the palm of one hand with the thumb on the opposite hand.  Your eyes darted over to Jasper who maintained his stiff posture while seated. 

“However, centuries of bias and prejudice will be difficult to overcome even if the participants are willing.  If the participant isn’t open to change, there is a high probability that their lack of willingness will negatively affect those around them.  It may result in Bella’s progress becoming stunted and she could even regress to her previous manner of thinking.”

Athenadora pursed her lips.  Both she and Jasper understood that you were referring to Edward and Alice when you said ‘participant’, “I was thinking along the same lines.  It’s not just Edward that we are concerned about but your mate, Alice, as well.”  She directed her second sentence to Jasper.

“My mate cares deeply for Bella.  That is both her strength and her weakness.  She can be easily convinced to choose a certain path when Bella is at the centre.  Once someone has decided on a course of action, Alice will then have visions of that outcome.”

“Which is how she convinced Aro to let them leave when they visited Volterra the first time.”  Athenadora observed.

“In the past, Alice has found that technique to be effective.”  Jasper revealed before examining you, “I can imagine that while Bella listened to your explanations, there were times when she reacted negatively due to the amount and content of information she was receiving.”

“I had my doubts about how Bella would respond to the information that I revealed.  She definitely had some strong opinions about a few of the topics but I don’t think that Rosalie’s presence during the conversation helped the situation.”

Jasper frowned, “The two do not get along.  We were all changed out of necessity and Rosalie believes that Bella is squandering her chances at a human life to be with Edward.  When we left Forks, I heard whispers that Bella wants to become a vampire and then Alice told me of the vision that she showed Great King Aro in the throne room.  Edward is reluctant to change her.”

“That’s an understatement if I’ve ever heard one.”  Athenadora grimaced, “It also explains the control he has over her.”

“If your family had a vote, what course of action would you take?  Would you change Bella into a vampire?”

“There was a vote before we were brought here.  The majority of our family voted to change her into a vampire.  Two of our family did not.  We didn’t know the extent of Edward’s manipulative behaviour then.”

“And now that you do?  Would you change your answer?”

“I voted yes because Bella being a vampire would be a nice change and I wouldn’t feel the need to attack her.”  He deadpanned.

You weren’t sure whether Jasper was joking or not. 

“That reason is quite shallow and selfish of you.”  Athenadora chastised.

Jasper remained focused on Athenadora.  You could see the micro expressions chasing each other across his face before it became stony.

“And what of you Major?  Do you support Jasper’s decision to change Bella?”

When Jasper spoke, his voice once again held that undertone.  “Jasper overruled me in his decision.”  The Major bit out.  “Bella’s wish to become a vampire is rooted in her desire to remain with Edward.  Following our unexpected journey to Volterra and the reveal of information along with Bella being exposed to different perspectives, I am not aware if that longing has subsided or grown.  Prior to becoming involved with Edward, she had no understanding of the dangers of our world.  Her infatuation with Edward has opened her eyes to the dangers yet I believe that she wants to become a vampire in order to handle situations on our level.”

A familiar form appeared in a flash of green and the Major’s posture shifted once again.  Somehow, without fully understanding how you knew it, you knew that Jasper was in control again.

“The three of you need to get to the throne room now!”  Claymore urged, “The Kings are preparing to kill Edward Cullen.”

The two of you getting together isn’t a surprise whatsoever but more so because of nicos closed nature

The two of you most likely met because, again, Nico needed to use one of your guys powers for whatever it was

Aaaand you were the only was who was awake and reading some book

So he went up to you and asked if he could use your power and you ultimately ended up agreeing just because why not?

Tbh you didn’t really listen to what he said but just nodded, so imagine your surprise when he gets to you again and asks why you didn’t do what you promised

You’re honestly mad he’s interrupting your sleep so u just ignore him and turn over

Ofc he still tries asking you but only because anyone else was too sleepy to even be bothered

Eventually you decide to go to the bonfire at camp and while sitting there you see an abnormal shadow in the far distance

You decide to get up and walk towards it, noticing how it kinda moves as if shocked

You ultimately just stand there and ask whoever is there to come out and low and behold-

It’s Nico Di Angelo, son of hades

You walk up and ask if he’d wanna hang out, which he immediately turns down

But once you mention his insomnia he gets defensive

Then leaves

Ofc it’s only when the next time you meet and he’s more aware that he decides to give you a shot

He’s mostly shocked about how similar you are and especially by your stupid ass jokes you make while half asleep

He gradually finds himself thinking positively of you

Maybe even endearing

Especially since you’re really open minded and much of an introvert just like himself

He feels like he can actually consider you a friend

But then those feelings turn sour and unsure when he starts feeling nervous and feels butterflies in his stomach near you

It’s almost enough to make you want to reach into his dreams, especially when you feel his hesitance when you thought you already passed that stage.

Well one day when the camp is having a bonfire you two decide to go for a walk and when you grab his hand to stop him from walking he’s more than confused

That’s when you decide to confess your feelings for him, you knew you’d have to or else he never would

He was more than shocked and left once he said he’d have to think about it

Eventually he goes to your cabin when your sleeping and lays down with you

When you wake up he instantly opens up and tells you how sorry he is for his reaction, he was just scared

And eventually agrees to become your boyfriend if you’d like that

Anyways,

The first thing you do is the obvious accidental sleep over

It’s at his cabin since he doesn’t have any other sibling of his (Hazel) staying there

The two of you nap and talk about serious topics, it’s overall pretty intimate and eventually you decide to bring up a topic you’ve been wanting to

It’s about his insomnia and lack of serious sleep

He gets pretty defensive especially since he’d be vulnerable when you use your power on him but he ultimately agrees and falls asleep next to you

Once you two wake up you’re both cuddling and he instantly clams up, one thing you take note of is his coldness and you choose to hug him tighter

Eventually this becomes a normal occurrence and you’d chill in his dorm alone together while doing different tasks in silence

Plus you’d always be there to make him sleep when he doesn’t listen to anyone else

The two of you become more open with your relationship eventually and everyone is supportive

But keep their distance cuz of how mysterious you both seem 😭

Ps if you use your induced sleep on someone during battle then he’s just shocked

He didn’t know you could use it that way and it’s honestly easier to knock out a whole field of opponents then have to fight them
