While I don't mind the "poor reading comprehension" jokes and there is something to be said about the reading comprehension overall dropping. I really dislike how it also became almost like an insult. I think an unintended side effect of "people on tumblr/the Internet have poor reading comprehension"/"piss on the poor" jokes is it emboldened some people to just be casually ableist and mock people with learning and intellectual disabilities.
I know the vast majority of these statements are either made as a joke or aren't ableist at all. But some of ya sound like you're one step away from mocking somebody for being "slow" and dropping the r slur.

I'd rather someone tell me 'Wow, you look young for your age!' especially since the whole internet seems to be terrified at the prospect of ageing. I'll just take it as a compliment and move on with my day.
And since you apparently know how every single 19-year-old act then tell me, how do you want me to behave? And how do you want me to convey that through fucking text? What, do you want me to capitalize my words? Use proper punctuation and grammar? Ooh, do I seem like a big girl to you now that I'm typing properly?
Do you want me to spell it out for you? I play a character here, you fucking dumbass. You don't know me. You can't just sum up my entire personality solely from text posts and some art alone. If you seriously think I 'act' like this irl then, boy, do i have news for you.
Not everything you see here on the internet is the full picture. It may come as a huge surprise to you but I don't show the entirety of my personality here. The fact I even have to say that to someone who I assume is older than me is laughable. You'd think for someone who thinks they can spot a minor, they'd be smart enough to know that.
Every time i post something in this blog, I'm not thinking whether it's 'a true reflection of my soul' or whether 'I'm conveying my real self'. I'm not thinking any of that bullshit. I just try to think of a joke or do something entertaining so I can get a snort from another stranger on the other side of the planet. I admit most of them are a hit or a miss but I like making people laugh. I like getting a 'lmao' from another person, it's nice. And my art is just shit I draw during my free time. It's really not that deep. This is such an unserious blog.

Is that it? Everyone matures at a different age, some minors act more mature than me because of various circumstances. Oh, but they're adults, right? Cause they have more emotional maturity? Cause they act more professional? Cause they're more serious?
If you think I'm lying about my age or whatever then unfollow me, block me for all I care. Make the both of us happy.

Found a YouTube video on 'aspie supremacy' and went 'oh, this must be about ableism perpetuated by disabled people with lower support needs, looks like a decent video to watch in the shower' and then proceeded to watch in horror as the presenter detailed new-agey 'indigo children' type beliefs which were unspeakably racist even just to think of

they rejected my application :(
#i mean i knew that they were going to. i literally do not have the degree they want#but sometimes it feels as if people in this field don't take me seriously because im young lol#like they assume that my experience just Does Not Apply because im not in my 40s#its fine. i never told anyone irl i applied for the job so i don't have to worry about that (ty past me) (i almost said it like 10 times)#when the time comes for me to REALLY start job hunting ill start taking rejections more personally but this was a good experience i think#them giving me a rejection at all and not just ghosting me was actually a huge relief tbh#am i supposed to respond to the rejection email? i guess i will?#dont burn your bridges etc#it feels a little weird saying ty for the opportunity when they didn't even interview me#but this whole corporate bullshit is just empty tradition at this point so whatever#anyway the GOOD news is that my really big name reference told my current boss (as a joke but still) that he wanted to steal me from her#he works for the state which would be an INCREDIBLE opportunity if he was in any way serious#so when the time comes ill be casually mentioning to him that im job hunting and we'll see where it goes#literally every conference ive been to people know his name and ask where he is so im hoping he will have enough pull to let a fresh grad in#two different people (both also rather big names in the field) have told me that he thinks really highly of me#and while working with him was a little bit like pulling teeth i don't really have the option to be choosy rn lol#anyways. im disappointed but not surprised#it was a remote position too :( oh well

Campus police send out shooting alerts in a timely manner challenge (impossible)
#Sigh#i cant believe this is the second person to be murdered on campus in the past 2 years#and once again our police force is shit at sending out any sort of warning anout the incident#last time the campus didn't go into lockdown until maybe about 40 minutes after and they gave us the wrong (and racsit!) suspect description#this time there was no lockdown and they didnt sendnout an alert until 30 minutes after#in what world are these alerts useful when you don't tell us in a timely manner?#if these were not targeted then so many more people would be dead#i thought they would learn after the first time but NO#honestly im not even surprised#at least they are being more transparent with information this time i guess? but still man#what the hell#i am very tired and very disappointed#okay serious rant over#tw shooting

I feel like I keep seeing this happening but it frustrates me when a popular show gets hyped up then has some mediocre writing and people act like it's now become to worst thing ever. girl people stuck out for goddamn supernatural this is nothing.

tbh i know ppl have said cn players are speaking up but i don't actually know how true that is lmao. if hoyo took the initiative to make brown people actually real in game maybe they'd learn that pretty characters =/= pale skin but 🧍♀️
why i say this is like: (last time i checked) on twitter the english drip marketing has gotten vastly fewer likes/rt's than clorinde, emilie, or sigewinne's etc, while the jp twitter drip and bilibili posts have gotten basically the same amount of likes/shares as 4.7's. also maybe my search keywords are wrong but if you search natlan dark skin/纳塔黑皮 (on bilibili: video sharing site): there are some videos posting edits from twitter, and a fair amt of people comment 'oh this actually looks good' or 'oh not bad' etc, but there are also people just. being straight up racist, a good amount of people just writing this off as global fans organizing drama, and the usual retorts of 'just go play/make another game, genshin's supposed to cater to chinese aesthetics/beauty standards anyways' and im like. 🧍♀️

#fuck the supreme court#they ruled cities can enforce bans on homeless people sleeping outdoors in West Coast areas where shelter space is lacking#one of the cities closest to me was involved on the case#from personal experience the cops and locals there are heartless#and said people absolutely refuse to invest money into much needed shelters and programs#the only options people have are this church where if you don't do free labor and convert they kick you to the curb#or the small flimsy shelter that can barely house 20 people#i get it that people are coming to a head with the homeless crisis but this ruling is just going to make the problem worsd#by making it so people get more comfortable treating human beings on the street like animals#the city's rules effectively punish homeless people by restricting camping on public spaces and issuing penalties for violations of the rule#it keeps people trapped in a perpetual cycle cause if they cant pay the citation fees it goes on their records and then they can't get work#and you need an address for most jobs etc etc etc#I'm not surprised this is the outcome but i am extremely disappointed#especially when more than half the assholes that live in said city are 1 to 2 paychecks away from being homeless and most are elderly#or disabled in some way#im sorry for the tangent guys#but having been homeless within the last few years through external factors i couldn't control#this has me pissed on behalf of others going through it#magenta#magenta is my vent word

hm.. after giving it more thought i think i want elise to win this months sonic channel poll. its a tough choice because elise and merlina both only appeared in one game and havent been acknowledged since then but. sonic and the black knight had a mix of 2d and 3d cutscenes and elise has only ever appeared as a 3d model.. with that in mind i would really like to see a cute cartoony style drawing of elise. also considering the character thats already been decided to appear in the art is silver i think id rather see him interact with elise than merlina. also it would be so nice to see more sonic 06 acknowledgement that isnt just "haha wasnt this game terrible guys *insert picture of elise kissing sonic*" especially considering itll be portraying the most hated character from that game in a positive light. so yeah #elisesweep
