PoliceForce!141 x VictimsPartner!Reader
warnings - murder(er), descriptions of a crime scene, blood, not really gore, loss of a loved one.
summary - the investigation of an arising serial killer has every civilian on their toes, however it has a whole police precinct in even more of an erratic frenzy. The police force assigned to the job get the call that yet another body has been found, most likely another victim of the recent killer. The body count is high, but the tensions are even higherâŚ
đż (a/n) - itâs finally here!! Long awaited first post of this most likely very long ongoing series. The reader doesnât really come out in this part but bear with me they will be out in the next! I hope you will stick around for future parts and other works in general. If youâre new to my page or this story in general, Hi! Welcome! If youâve been following along with my updates and my page, thank you for sticking around! And I look forward to seeing you! Most importantly I hope you all enjoy and stick around some more!
prologue/ ⤠part one / part ???
2⌠3⌠5⌠8âŚ? How many would you leave this time, you didnât know. You were on 10 now, how many did it take till you got bored of this one too? This one wasnât as fun, this one didnât put up a fight, this one took all the fun out of it. It was too easy honestly, it made you bored, easily. You stopped yourself at 23, sighing as you stood up.
You walked over to the trash can lazily taking off your gloves, making sure to engulf the knife in both gloves before begrudgingly tossing it into the tiny metal tin trash can. The metal bang rang through the small office space as you walked to the door. You pull out a cloth from your pocket before turning the doorknob and heading out the door.
âWhat was his name again?â
The sound of stretching as he pulls the blue latex gloves over his hands quickly dissipates while approaching the house's front door.
âDarren Boyle, heâs some rich big-time director of a construction company.â
ââŚIs there a reason youâre telling me this manâs finances?â
âYeah, actuallyâŚâ
The EMT halts her walking and hands the report to him
âNothing was taken from the home, no money, no belongings, nothing.â
He takes the report and looks it over.
âYet he still has 23 knife wounds all over his bodyâ
The walk to the office space was short and brief, with multiple people at the crime scene, and multiple things happening all at once. The flash of the camera, the sound of plastic evidence bags, and the smell⌠that smell, that concoction of iron and decay that permanently scars the nose with its presence alone.
The rest of the force was already present at the scene littered around, each doing different tasks.
Officer Kyle âGazâ Garrick, is probably the smartest in the entire county. From someone who started as a mere medical student, that ended up not being able to bear the weight of being the cause of a lost human life, went to become someone who brought âlifeâ and justice to the lost and their families. He is the forensics specialist of the team, offering his smarts and intuition to the force. Gaz can pronounce the cause of death by a simple examination of the body, as well as match DNA evidence to a perpetrator, blood, fingerprints, spit, etc.
Officer Johnny âSoapâ McTavish, investigator as well as one of the best interrogators, right behind Officer Riley. Soap used to be a big-time private investigator sometimes, often, closing cases faster than the police department itself. This eventually led to the police department trying to recruit, and find, Soap to their forces for his high investigator talent, which landed him with the force, after a very eventful high-speed chaseâŚ
Officer Simon âGhostâ Riley, aka. death reincarnated. Was discovered from his time as a mercenary, and would finish any job no matter the morals or ethics involved. The blood from his past haunted him, when he retired from his brutal position, he discovered his now-current sheriff. Who heard his story and convinced Ghost to come out of his early retirement and become a detective. Ghost took this offensively at first, seeing the offered position as some type of âdowngradeâ. He ended up convinced into the position and is now one of the most well-known detectives in the nation.
That leaves the sheriffâŚ
âSheriff Price. Itâs been a while, although Iâd prefer if we didnât have to meet under these circumstances.â
âLaswell, always good to see a familiar face. Although I'd have to agree, these circumstances aren't exactly.. ideal.â
âA killer in your part of the city. A serial.. killer.â
She says the last part while narrowing her eyes behind her shoulder at the now dead body
âSoâ
She says with her head still facing the body
âWhats your plan.â
It wasnât a question.. it was a demand
She turns her head, her frustrated look now landing on the sheriff.
âTo catch this prick.â
They both made heavy eye contact with each other. Trying to square up the other with their looks alone, the tension rising. that is until they are interrupted
âSheriff! You have to see this.â
A shout from Gaz, across the home office. Priceâs attention immediately being stripped away from Laswell and reattaching to his officer
Gaz stands from his crouched position near the victimâs desk, the Sheriff joining his side to glance at what he had found. In Gazâs hands was a piece of paper, one that had been splattered in blood, It wasnât just paper, it was a note.
⌠a note for the Sheriff

Finished up Batman Beyond today. As much as I liked it, one thing that did jump out at me over the course of the show was that Dana Tan was basically an unreconstructed instance of "The Superhero's Girlfriend-" a love interest who's present in the narrative mainly to create tension between the demands of the superhero lifestyle and the loved one who's in the dark, but who has very little agency or role in the story beyond that, indeed, very little else you can have them do if you want to preserve that. The episode in which I believe she got the most focus, she spent most of it running for her life from a Rat Guy through the sewers.
There's a post about Spider-Man doing the rounds, which posits that part of why Mary Jane won out over Spidey's other long-term love interests was that because she wasn't originally intended to win, she had room to develop traits and dynamics beyond "superhero's put-upon girlfriend-"in fact, she had to, in order to present a plausible temptation away from whoever Spidey was quote-unquote "supposed" to be dating. I'm not a comprehensive Spidey reader, so I'm not going to go to the mattress for that read until I've read some more- but I do think there's some meat to that dynamic in general because of this show. Melanie Walker only shows up in three episodes and already she's got a ridiculously tangled family dynamic thrown into the mix, torn loyalties, the need to keep her head above water financially no matter what other goals she has, a cool hoverboard. Max Gibson's got an actual give-and-take back-and-forth with Terry and Bruce, the added interesting complication that she's trying to prybar her way even further into the game than either of them want her to but it's not like they have a way to make her leave. Dana is.... pissed that Terry is spending so much time with Mr. Wayne. Again. I mean, she's got a job to do, she clocks in at the start of each episode and does it.
This sort of harkens back to Invincible, where a major tenet of the first quarter of the book was that for logistical and ethical reasons, a superhero's dating pool is realistically limited to other players of the game- other people deep enough in the cape lifestyle that they can keep up and relate. Otherwise, your partner is going to spend most of the relationship stuck on the outside looking in, and even if they're nominally okay with the situation it's going to suck. Arguably, Amber in the comic fell into the pit of visibly existing mainly to demonstrate this, reproducing the dynamic they were critiquing. The show did a lot of legwork trying to make her more of an actively agentic character, but when the entire point is that a character in her position would have extremely limited agency there's only so much you can do to patch that. Then Eve rolls in, and it turns out you can do the exact same relationship beats about chronic unavailability, lack of communication and the like, but with a partner who's equally capable of showing up to all the big set piece fights and gorily eviscerating people in her own unique ways- a character who's consistently around in the story for reasons other than that she's dating the hero. You don't have to pick!
This got longer than I thought it was going to be. I do want to round out by saying that this sort of aligns neatly with something else that I've noticed- namely that a lot of post-10s cartoons also appear to have noticed this, and either hang back from biting off more than they can chew by committing to a romance subplot for their leads, or if there is a romance subplot they really aggressively commit to making sure the love interest approaches deuteragonist status in terms of airtime and agency. Hell, Steven Universe left the exact status of Steven and Connie's relationship ambiguous, and it still had a lot to say about the civilian girlfriend freezeout trope. Again- date other players!

PROTECT YOUR NECK ! Lyonessaâs Speedy Tutorial for Sharp Shootin
Protection, Uncrossing & Curse Freezin in a Traditional Hoodoo style.
A good practitioner eventually has the good common sense to be diplomatic and avoid a witch war. Avoiding drama, means avoiding headaches. Itâs easy until it isnât. Smoothing sailing isnât always a guarantee in this world. Stay vigilant and well prepared.
Knowing how to protect, defend, uncross and cleanse yourself is a basic but crucial part of the Hoodoo practitioners spiritual hygiene.
Now this is a quick basic tutorial, to set you straight and keep you right.
âď¸ - KEEP YOUR HEAD SHARP & CULTIVATE COMMON SENSE
Hot heads, Iâm talking to you. Emotional self control can save you from the stress of unnecessary witch battles with other practitioners. Be respectful, be mindful but take no shit. Try your best to avoid witch wars with other practitioners. Iâve seen these things be drawn out for years and itâs a huge colossal drain of energy and finances, usually over something very petty. Usually the person with most financial backing and resources wins but Iâve also seen clever maneuvering outweigh more powerful players.
Itâs so easy to get caught up in drama in the spiritual community and have it spiral out of control. As your developing relationships, try to avoid warring and argumentative personality types so you donât get caught in their crossfire. Committing all of your energy to constantly defending yourself from petty attacks is a waste of your energy. Cultivate social discernment & wisdom. This is not an invitation to live fearfully but smart. This is also something that takes time and practice.
On the other side of the spectrum, as you gain experience do your best to not become mad with power & trigger happy.
Constantly throwing jinxes, hexes or curses takes itâs toll mentally, energetically & physically, in some cases it can cause serious physical health problems further down the line. Donât develop a god-complex. Stay grounded. Now I canât tell you where to draw the line in the sand when it comes to certain situations, because every practitioner has their own code of ethics.
Iâll use myself as an example. On my spiritual journey Iâve acquired and invested in vast amounts knowledge and other resources which have made my defensive and offensive skills pretty extensive. Some of the things, rituals, and spirits that I have access to would be overkill depending on the circumstances. Coming into a massive powerful spiritual inheritance so early was hard.
I had to learn by trial and error to be more respectful of my own power. I was an overpowered baby witch shooting lightning bolts, while burning my own hands. Learning to practice emotional regulation allowed me to hone my skills better. I had to do shadow work and confront my traumas.
Cultivating a respectful working relationship between yourself, your own power and your emotions can save your life.
âď¸ - PRACTICE GOOD OFFENSE
A good practitioner will use various methods of divination to spiritually strategize before moving to attack. Attacking blindly without any knowledge, can cause all sorts of problems, especially if youâre dealing with someone who has strong spiritual or ancestral protections or a higher rank then you, worst case scenario youâre going up against a coven.
Excellent offense means doing recon. Good Reconnaisance skills means gathering information about your target, through various means of surveillance. Gather as much information about your enemies or targets resources, spiritual force or power, protection and activities. You should approach this like a military operation. Once youâve got enough information, then you can strategize, prepare and do divination on what your next move should be.
This isnât always easy either, depending on the skill of your target. People can cloak, shape-shift, even have guardian or monitoring spirits or ancestors to alert them. When in doubt, always use stealth. Always make sure to cloak and protect yourself when surveilling your target. Itâs the most practical form of offensive protection. Iâve seen practitioners attack folks just for doing surveillance. Donât get caught out here lacking, put on your damn armor.
All Power is intoxicating and life altering. Without self control you can seriously injure yourself and others. Ego often makes many people in this community think they are invincible, until they get humbled, tale as old as time. Respect your powers & yourself. Cultivate self control & discipline. Resist wild impulse. Build habits that protect you in the future.
Our plant allies are crucial to our practice and connection to spirit and the earth.

Be smart. Be strategic. Donât be a dumbass

Bae is the good ending, actually
I would argue that not only is Bae the good and moral ending, Bay is the evil, immoral and - dare I say - selfish ending.
Letâs start by stating the obvious - the ending choice of Season 1 is a form of trolley problem.
A trolley problem is a type of thought experiment which presents you with a moral problem. The basic parameters are as follows: You find yourself near railroad tracks. There is a main track and a side track. There is a trolley coming down the main track. There are people both on the main track and on the side track. The people standing on the track the trolley is travelling down are in mortal danger. You canât stop the trolley, or remove people from the track. The only thing you can do is to pull the lever and direct the trolley to the side track, thereby sparing people on the main track, but killing those on the side track.
Obviously, in the scenario we are analysing, the trolley is the approaching storm, the town of Arcadia Bay and all its denizens are located on the main track, Chloe finds herself on the side track and Max can pull the lever to divert the deadly danger from Arcadia Bay towards Chloe by using the photograph to erase the events of the week.
Since the last choice of Season 1 is a trolley problem, I think the moral solution is the same as with all other trolley problems â do nothing and let things happen. Let me explain.
Often, when presented with a trolley problem, people instinctively adopt a utilitarian approach. Utilitarianism is an ethical system which favours actions that decrease the amount of suffering in the world.
If there are two people on the main track and only one person on the side track, the utilitarian solution would be to pull the lever, because two deaths would cause more suffering in the world than one.
If thereâs a young person on the main track and an old person on the side track, the utilitarian solution would be to pull the lever, because the young person hasnât had the chance to live out their life to the fullest yet, so their death would cause more suffering.
If there is a person with a big family on the main track and a lonely person on the side track, the utilitarian solution is once again to pull the lever, because the death of someone who would be missed by many would cause more suffering than the death of someone who wouldnât be missed by anyone.
I imagine that most people would be instinctively willing to agree with the first solution. Saving two people instead of one person? That makes sense. But I think (or at least hope) that most people would disagree with the next two examples, of the old person and of the lonely person. Who are we to judge who is more âworthyâ of life and whose death would cause more suffering? But realize this - when you consider the quantity of lives at stake, your thought process is exactly the same as when you consider their quality.
If you choose to pull the lever in a trolley problem, you have usurped for yourself the right to judge who is more worthy of life. You have usurped for yourself the right to kill the people on the side track. Even if itâs an entire town on the main track and only one person on the side track. When you pull the lever and direct the trolley to the side track, you kill that one person. The fact that you saved the people on the main track doesn't erase that. Ends do not justify the means.
From my point of view, the moral answer to any trolley problem is to do nothing, because no matter how insignificant the life of the person on the side track may seem, nobody has the right to judge them unworthy of life.
A purely utilitarian approach to a trolley problem fails to take into account the substantive difference between letting things happen and actively causing someoneâs death.
The final choice is made not on Monday, but on Friday. On Friday, Chloe is no longer in danger. Max can redirect the mortal danger from the town to Chloe, but it requires her action. On Friday, the "natural" course of events which doesn't require any input from Max is for the storm to level the town. If you sacrifice Chloe on Friday, you're killing her. You're pushing her back onto the barrel of Nathan's gun. But if Max sacrifices the town, she's only letting things that have been in motion since Monday proceed. She lets them proceed, because to stop the storm, she would have to kill someone. Max simply refuses to pay such a high price.
Having established the sheer immorality of sacrificing someone "for the greater good", let's move on to the selfish part. If Max sacrifices Chloe, that means she values her guilty conscience more than Chloe's life. That she doesn't want to live with guilt more than she wants to live with Chloe. Notice that when the storm comes, Chloe says it all happens for a reason and it couldn't be any other way. Only when she sees how distraught Max is, she does a 180 and offers her sacrifice. Her offer is mainly motivated by the desire to save Max from her guilt. The selfish thing would be to accept Chloe's sacrifice.

how would the characters do working in a public service job, such as retail? I'm particularly curious about hilbert, kepler, and minkowski.
you know, you can really tell that nobody in wolf 359 other than eiffel has ever worked retail. it explains a lot about them.
it's impossible to imagine hilbert working retail in any context that isn't just. a joke for how out of place he would be. everything hilbert does is for his research, and he considers anything else a pointless distraction. he thinks that "bedside manner is like anesthetic: it just gets in the way of what needs to be done." honestly, i wish i could make hilbert work customer service. it would be torture for him, and he would say the kinds of things to customers that most people can only fantasize about. if you put him in a retail job, somehow, he would still just disappear into a dark storage room to do god knows what. i think hilbert would let people shoplift. he doesn't care.
kepler... could thrive in retail, actually. that's really scary. not that he would like it, but that he's got that kind of personality type and work ethic. the version of kepler who hollowed himself to become the manager of a dick's sporting goods might be worse than regular kepler, for the limited power it would offer him. but stagnation would drive him crazy. kepler really values progress - always working harder, doing more. he doesn't mind being a cog in the corporate machine, but that would be a much less. complex machine, compared to his real ambitions. he would still tell the exact same stories.
minkowski would be very, very frustrated by a job like that, but she would take it very seriously. she would enforce every nonsensical, nit-picky little policy to the letter. she would want to run that place like the navy, for sure, but people wouldn't be scared of her the way they'd be scared of someone like kepler. she's a tryhard people pleaser, and she tries to come across as strict and no-nonsense, but i think minkowski really takes people at their word and it wouldn't be hard for both customers & her employees to walk all over her once they figured out how she operates, and which of her threats are empty. that's what eiffel did. if she wasn't in a management position, it would be even worse for her. she would grit her teeth, and try very, very hard, and she would hate every moment of it.
characters you didn't ask about, but i have to talk about anyway:
i think lovelace would be a relatively cool manager who would take your side if a customer was a jerk to you, and she wouldn't really care about the rules as long as things got done. but it would be difficult for her to hold a lower-level position, unless she had a cool manager.
eiffel is the only one of them who's canonically worked food service (and a whole assortment of dead-end jobs he got fired from within a few months) and he approaches his current job pretty much the same as i imagine he approached his job at pizza hut. he complains about his boss, zones out, maybe even falls asleep. if he could wander outside and smoke, he would. eiffel and hera are really the only two people here who don't have career ambitions. almost everyone else wants something more, in their own ways, but eiffel just wants to clock out, go home, and relax. doesn't really matter what the job is, he just doesn't want to be at work. respectable.
and hera is already doing the equivalent of putting on a customer service voice, seething with contempt, and then going to cry in the bathroom, like, every day of her life. so...
#one of my friends said that kepler in a non-managerial position would be like the reverse of that meme of someone#telling a story to a horrified drive thru worker. yeah.#and another friend of mine said eiffel is that post like.#'if you have time to lean you have time to clean' if i have time to work i have time to jerk.#... thank you for asking!!#it is so apparent nobody else has worked retail or even considered they might have to. tbh.#it explains so much now that i'm thinking about it that way#asks

If JJK characters were in Non- Curse world, what would their job be if not become Jujutsu Sorcerer (in your opinion)? Why? Please pick your top 5 fav characters...
I love you for asking this, anon ⼠It's an opportunity to wax lyrical about something I've given a great deal of thought! These are my instinctive answers, although I could make arguments for a number of other professions for each of them depending on the life choices they made in this hypothetical non-curse world â but we don't need to get into that! So, here I go (in no particular order):
YĹŤta is an emergency paediatric surgeon
When he was young, he made the decision to become a trauma surgeon after losing his childhood friend in a car accident. He spent some time in hospital as a child and he knows what a scary place it can be for children, so he always does his best to make his patients smile when he's checking in on their progress.
He's brilliant at what he does â a once in a generation talent â but that doesn't mean he can save everyone. It's heartbreaking work on a good day, but when he's been at work for approaching 30 hours and he feels like he wants out, he looks at the photo of Rika in his locker and finds the strength to go on.
Kenjaku is a performer
If the average Japanese human enjoys at least 80 rotations around the sun, why waste them by playing the same role every time? That's Kenjaku's outlook on life â which is why they chose to go into acting. However, they quickly became bored by other people's narrow view of the world, dissatisfied by the limits of everyone else's imagination.
Nowadays, Kenjaku marches to the beat of their own drum in a one-person show. There are more than ten roles available, all of them played by Kenjaku â who is also the writer, producer, and director. Critics can't decide whether it's madness or sheer brilliance.
Megumi is a vet
He's grumpy with humans, especially if they're irresponsible pet owners. However, he's soft as anything with the animals, and his regular clients trust him implicitly with their beloved furry family members â because it's obvious how much they love him.
Megumi is really good at his job, but he's guilty of taking his work home with him and finds it difficult not to get emotionally attached to the animals he's treating, even after years in the profession. Although he'd never hesitate to make difficult decisions, the unique ethical dilemmas his job presents take a toll on his wellbeing â especially when human cruelty or indifference come into play.
Suguru is a school teacher
Teaching is neither recognised nor appreciated by most people. However, although Suguru had the brains to follow his friends into their highly respected fields, he couldn't imagine anything more rewarding than doing his part to ensure that the next generation have an easier time of things than he did at the same age.
He tries to be the person he needed when he was at school: a pillar of support for struggling children who have no one else on their side. Unfortunately, the school system seems determined to hurt the very children it's supposed to support, and some of the parents go out of their way to undermine any positive developments he makes with their child â not to mention the terrible pay and working conditions!
Satoru is a physicist
But he could have done anything he put his mind to. In fact, that's the only thing Satoru ever really found difficult in life: choosing one path to follow. Sometimes, he wishes he'd become a musician or a historian or an athlete, but in the end, nothing captured his imagination quite like the limitless bounds of the universe.
He's younger than most of his peers in the field, and his revolutionary ideas (alongside his casual disregard for traditional academic hierarchies) get him in trouble more often than not. However, he's a certified genius, and popular with the media, too. He's doing a lot to improve the image of physicists among the general public â which translates to more funding for research. That keeps them out of his hair, most of the time at least!
-
These are too obvious, but I thought I'd mention them anyway:
YĹŤji is a firefighter who remembers the names and faces of every single person he couldn't save.
ShĹko is a pathologist who devotes herself to improving the diagnosis and treatment of disease, often at the expense of her own health and wellbeing.
Because they're *also* huge nerds, I imagine Sukuna and Yuki as physicists in slightly different fields to GojĹ:*
Yuki is a brilliant mind, but she doesn't live up to her potential because she hates the oppressive nature of academia. In fact, she vocally criticises it and goes out of her way to undermine it, to the chagrin of all the old stuffy professors who try to discredit her at every opportunity.
Sukuna, like GojĹ, is a genius who's fascinated by what he doesn't know, shaking up the field with his cutting edge (lol) ideas. I like to imagine the pair of them getting into heated arguments at conferences, though they both have enormous (albeit grudging) respect for each other.
*As long as Sukuna is, you know, ~normal~ in this hypothetical non-curse world. Otherwise, he'd be a chef that moonlights as a sadistic serial killer lol.

Thank you for the extremely fun question, I had the time of my life! I hope you enjoy my answers âĽ

The hate for Jack Crawford is insane, or at least how he's depicted in most AO3 writing that I've read. I know the man is a very righteous, justice-driven, man-- a man indisputably changed by Hannibal since he is more than willing to cross ethics and morality (an example being how he continued to eat Hannibal's food while suspecting Hannibal to be a cannibal and serving human to his guests) in order to stop someone who he deems as criminal or deserving of justice, especially their own method of how justice is granted. Like Hannibal had said, Jack and Will do have that in common! And I continue to believe that they do share a lot more than that in common! Despite Graham willingly placing himself in the role of a martyr and Crawford taking advantage of that, I think Jack did have concern over Will more than what Will could provide for the FBI. Yes, he took advantage of Will's empathy and disregarded his mental health and dwindling sanity, but he wasn't a heartless monster, he saw a man broken, relating to that since he and Will have both seen more than what a person should see, and he took advantage of what Will could provide before he lost WIll. They were friends only because they wanted to put the same people away and because Will understood Jack so I think he really couldn't hate Jack for that, even if he tried (empathy and all that). Naturally, Will could blame Jack for many things; I'm not justifying the pressure of what he's put on Will and how he stood back and watched the brain of his bloodhound begin to burn for the sake of solving a few cases or showing up years later to pressure Will into leaving the life he's built to capture the Dragon, but he is genuinely a determined man with a heart, demanding as he is. For that reason, I feel like a lot of people mischaracterize him as a heartless, self-absorbed man who wants to manipulate Will purely for his own obsession, yelling at him and abusing him, but I truly believe his motivation was saving lives and justice. He's broken and changed but his own real morals, however opaque, is justice. Will and Hannibal have little to no morals, no boundaries. Also, Will is very cruel and an absolute asshole when he wants to be, let's just establish that. As much as I adore that silly goofy man, the show humanizes him because we see what he's going through in his mind but Jack doesn't receive that, and Alana and everyone else don't see that except Hannibal. Jack's hard on him because he sees Will as the grown man that he is, intelligent and more than able to walk away when he wants to, and believes Will can handle it (in professional circumstances I suppose, and emphasizing the people being murdered) and if he couldn't, then Will isn't nearly as useful as he ought to be. Jack's influence on Will is a double-edged sword. While Jack recognizes and appreciates Will's skills, using them only to save lives, he also places considerable pressure on him, often without fully understanding the toll it takes because he doesn't receive another other than capability from Will. Repeatedly, he's concerned in the show and approaches Will on it, fully aware of what looking at this can do to people, but Will snaps back and Jack brushes it off because, again, he sees Will as the grown man he is and doesn't babysit him, Jack only calls Will because Will allows it. And that was for Will to change frfr. Love Will and Jack shouldn't be so villainized to such a drastic, uncharacteristic extent, even if the show does place him in a bad light. (AGAIN, THE SHOW IS MAINLY FROM WILL'S POV) ANyway, rant over, thank you, and goodbye!

Right, ok, philosophical meta time:
Loki had to do what he did!
Let's look at the last confrontation with HWR and go from there:
HWR: The coutcome to this equation remsins the same. You lose.
Loki: I know. I know.
HWR: Shake it off.
Loki: I'll change the equation. I'll break your loom.
HWR: But the loom prevents a brutal war. Where nothing survives. Not even the sacred timeline. Ok, let's try it this way: Every, every nonent of peace you've ever experienced was yours, because I was here. Alone. At the end of time. Keeping watch.
Loki: I understand.
HWR: If you're gonna break the loom, what do you think would happen to your friends?
Mhm, I made the tough choices, that's why I get the big chair. I keep us safe. Can't you see what I'm offering here is mercy?
Loki: For me? Or for you? No! I'll find another way.
HWR: OK. And around and around and around we go. Let's see. Make the hard choice. Break the loom and you cause a war that kills us all. Game over. Or kill her (Sylvie).
And we protect what we can. What are you gonna do?
So here's the dilemma:
The loom is actively killing branches, even if there is no tva, that steps in to prune. If no branches get pruned, the loom overloads and erases all the new branches. So with or without the loom, only the secret timeline exists.
HWR rigged the game in a way that Loki cannot win here. But something doesn't add up. If the loom overloads and deletes, there cannot be new Kangs emerging, even if Loki breaks the loom. With the loom acting as fail safe, there will only ever be the sacred timeline.
Because once broken, the loom destroys every branch and the sacred timeline just resets.
Meaning HWR incarcerated the whole universe, basically put it in a small corsett forever, and everytime a branch tries to break free, everyone on that branch dies.
Now, if Loki found a way to override the failsafe (which he did in the end) and free the universe, there is the danger of Kang variants showing up, destroying everything INCLUDING the sacred timeline.
So HWR's argument here is to better keep a tiny universe with a smaller amount of beings alive, then have no universe at all.
Which is also what Mobius argues for involuntarily (since he doesn't see the full picture at that moment).
He tells Loki killing one person and keeping others alive is the right choice, although it is hard and will scar you.
That' s one ethic approach. It's basically utilitarianism. The right choice is the one that benefits most.
Now Sylvie challenges that with another concept by telling Loki that he has no right to declare the sacred timeline superior to other lines, because lives on the sacred timeline can also be miserable and they are predestined. So someone who has a shitty life on the sacred timeline has no way of changing it ever.
Nobody can make a different choice, everyone is stuck. Loki for example, has to attack Thanos with what's basically a kitchen knife, despite being a powerful magic user and literal god, because that is supposed to happen.
The Loki that cast an illusion, hid from Thanos and survived, got pruned.
Apart from taking away people's choices, there is no new life, ever. Only a never ending circle.
So Sylvie argues, that instead of keeping a small amount of people safe, but basically miserable, let everyone chose their own destiny, even if it kills them in the end.
They would at least die being free.
Which is another ethical approach that values every single life and every choice.
And Loki choses freedom. For everyone but him. That's his burden.
But he is giving everyone an unimaginable gift.
He overrides the failsafe by powering the branches himself und ultimately defeats HWR. Which seemed impossible, given the scenario HWR set up.
Now for the Kangs that might destroy the multiverse:
That does not have to happen. The only thing set in stone is the sacred timeline.
HWR talks about the multiversal war in 1x06.
He says his variants kept peace with each other at first, then started a war, that almost
destroyed everything. Almost. Until HWR ended it by using the power of Alioth, the creature he discovered by chance, to built the tva and force the universe into the sacred timeline.
So can we really trust HWR?
No.
Why not?
1. He admitted to being afraid of his variants.
2. He did not plan on ending the war, it was a coincidence.
3. The war almost destroyed everything. It could have ended differently.
4. The war is only one possible outcome. There are infinite ways this could have gone.
5. If the post credit scene in Ant Man 3 referrs to HWR, he is the 'Exiled One'
An outcast. He could have exiled himself, like he said, or he is lying.
Look at all the possibilities in Endgame, where exactly one chance existed of beating Thanos, even if it seemed impossible.
How can we know (without a Dr Strange going through everything) that HWR offers the only option?
HWR cannot be trusted and the natural state of the universe is to be free and to expand indefinitely.
Free will is also a philosophical and religious core theme.
Free will enables people to make the wrong choice, but also to do right. It should be up to every individual themselves, otherwise they cannot evolve.
They're stuck.
And what does Mobius tell Loki his actual purpose was in 1x01?
To inspire people to become the best version of themselves!
And he did. But on his own terms and in a beautiful way.

2-24 even for Shanks đ
Oh my goodness, thank you bby!! Y'all are gonna hear about Shanks today lmfao. Most of this is gonna be under a readmore bc I've never been able to be succinct but here we goooooo!
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
I love how careful he is about when and how he flexes all that power he has. It was meant to be very on the nose when we were introduced to him via Luffy in the very beginning of the series, but like. His little episode on Whitebeard's ship seemed like he had conqueror's haki out of control, but it was a very purposeful flex, if for nothing else than to show that he took approaching another Yonko seriously. Or the way he chose to handle Greenbull at the end of Wano. Sure it was hard to the new folks on his crew to handle exposure so suddenly, but he sent that like 50 miles out from the ship and hit that jerk in the heart with it. And never even raised his voice about it. Idk I think his restraint and how it manifests is a really interesting part of his characterization.
4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
it's probably on my mind bc of Bernard Hill's recent passing, but I think Shanks would do so well and have a grand old time being elusive and mysterious in Lord of the Rings lmfao. He's got that Aragorn quality of could be in his 20s could be in his 40s who knows, he and Gandalf would probably get a kick out of each other, he'd fucking love the hobbits I am telling you this. (he also, I am very afraid, has that Aragorn quality of 'doomed by the narrative just not quite yet,' but we'll see.)
6. What's something you have in common with this character?
this is hard, I think he's a much more complex and interesting person than I am for the most part, but like. I think it's safe to say he'd mostly rather diffuse a situation than have it become serious when the latter is avoidable, and I am that way too. If the situation is already serious and requires a throw down response that's a different matter, but if we can avoid a serious fight in favor of a little tussle and some drinks, that'd be the way he'd go, and I agree.
8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?
take this one with a grain of salt bc I mostly try not to yuck anyone's yum or argue about differing headcanons, but I really do not fucking like the like. scumbag/villain!Shanks thing that seems to have a semi-popular following. some of that is personal bias, as I think he is a warm, good person who is doing his best, but it also kind of feels like a betrayal of the narrative for him. which I realize is funny coming from the "everything is made up including the source material" guy but here we are. there was a period a few months ago where people were basically just writing him as OP Toji and it made me want to pull all my hair out.
10. Could you be best friends with this character?
absolutely, I adore him, I think he's right about a lot of things, our ethics tend to line up where it matters, I think he's funny and would be fun to be around, he listens well and is a warm and compassionate person. I really like him and we'd get along really well I think. (mostly probably through the lens of my OC bc I'm not like. terribly convinced of my actual in person IRL likeability but in theory, absolutely yes.)
12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?
I've written about it a little before, but I think the reason he let Buggy go without telling him what Roger talked to him about after the execution wasn't because he didn't want Buggy with him anymore or didn't believe he had what it took to complete that mission, but so that Buggy would have a chance to forge his own way and have his own life. Doing what Roger asked necessitated Shanks--who was widely regarded as having the potential to be the next big legend--to drop out of the running almost entirely. He picked up his crew, he made a name for himself, he became the youngest person (at the time) to gain the title of Yonko, but he also spent a decent amount of time having to like. Lay low on beaches and dick around in the East Blue and play balance keeper and chess master until the man Roger was waiting for appeared. There are more spoilery additions to this that I'll leave out for now but yeah. I think he knew Buggy had all that same potential, and wanted to give him an opportunity to strike out on his own adventure without living in that shadow or carrying their mentor's ghost around.
14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
oh take this one with a grain of salt too idk that I know any of the terms correctly lmfao but he's very like. when I picture boho in my mind that seems very him. a lot of linens a lot of light flowy breathable clothes. It's pirate!Boho obviously but like. The man is out there wearing birkenstocks as we speak js.
16. What's your least favorite ship for this character?
same standard issue disclaimer as the fandom stuff I don't like, this isn't to yuck anyone's yum, follow your bliss what people ship isn't my business, these are just the ones I personally do not like. shankslu is at the forefront, but I don't really do shanksbenn either?? a LOT of captains and first mates in this series read that way to me but those two don't for me.
18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?
I actually really enjoy his dynamic with Marco. There are some interesting pieces of shared history there but overall the like. Friendly ribbing, amiable hanging out and willingness to cooperate between two of my faves is always very nice to see. c:
20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?
oh please I think he'd think Sabo was a ton of fun. I know there's an age difference there that makes peership a little different than between the other mid-40s dudes he usually hangs out with, but think about it. Two very powerful people who are carrying the weight of part of this new era on their shoulders, who have a habit of just sort of fucking off out of the narrative and doing things as they please within their own personal parameters, who will just get up and obliterate a guy when that's what the situation calls for? Funny, weird, intelligent guys that love Luffy, believe in him, and want whats best for him? Even if they weren't besties, I think there's a lot of fun overlap for general friendship there.
22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to this character? Something you don't like?
something I like: when people recognize that all that soft puppy silly goofy guy exterior, while sincerely part of him, is something that he makes the decision to externalize every day, and is sat atop a deep well of like. sadness and responsibility. there are a lot of people doing a very good job making him a romantic dopey nightmare man without sacrificing that silliness or his intelligence and sense of personal responsibility.
something I don't like: when people start a fic with the disclaimer "Shanks is in here but I hate him lol so he's a lil ooc đ¤đ¤Ş" and then he's like. not only ooc but just someone's ex boyfriend or doflamingo or just off-screen doing heinous shit for no reason. Writing a character you hate: can be fun and compelling! I fucking hate Doflamingo, for example, but as a narrative device, as a villain? bar none one of the best and most interesting. Writing a character you hate with the intention of doing a shit job because you hate them? dumb, annoying, and a waste of everyone's time. why include someone you don't want to write about lmfao just pick a different character and be done.
24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?
i'm drawing a blank, I'm going to be real with you. Like, I can think of a ton of mentor characters, but they don't really remind me of him. I can think of a bunch of like. guardian of the new era characters, that still don't super remind me of him. I think again i've got LOTR on the brain rn but the like. Fellowship of the Ring Aragorn is the closest I'm coming up with and even that's mostly in terms of like. the gentle mentorship of the hobbits, the offbeat sense of humor, and that dedication to a responsibility that he might have been scared to face. IDK. Shanks is a pretty unique guy to me. I'm sure I'm gonna sit bolt upright at 3 AM with a list of 20 people that fit the bill but rn it simply isn't clicking lmfao.
And there we have it!!! My (mostly) comprehensive analysis of Shanks, for you my dear friend. Thank you so much for asking!!!
#av plays#ask games#ask#answered#fluffleforce-mysdrym#this was a hell of a thing m8 thank you again for letting me ramble lmfaooo#OP#Shanks#wano spoilers#just in case

ill go with sex pal :P but if that's already done, gideon :)
HIIIIII!!!!!!! hi friend!!!!!
favorite thing about them: PALAMEDESSSSSS my boy palamedes. my little guy. man, okay, what do i love about him. i love the way he loves. i am fascinated by his clumsy and imperfect and well-meaning but inherently flawed attempts/approaches to things like agency and ethics and fairness and respect. i love that he pays attention to everything. i love his drive. i love his gambling streak, his tendency to play the odds. i love that he's a boy who writes love lettersâ˘. i love how open he is about his affections and his feelings. i love his penchant for using terms of endearment. his love for teaching. his willingness to get up on a soapbox for things he believes in, even if he winds up stumbling sidelong into insufferable preachy condescension half the time. i love that he tries. i love that he sometimes fucks up and hurts the people around him. i love his boldness. i love his sweetness. i love his kindness. that boy could make friends with a brick wall if you gave him enough time. i love that he canonically writes weird erotica to cope. i love his taste in women. i love his gender. i just love him
least favorite thing about them: i mean, i could go on forever. he's deeply annoying sometimes, and as much as it's part of his charm, it also makes me want to thwap him upside the head from time to time, like. boy. shut UP!!! but the real answer is honestly his position as sixth house scion. master warden is an unspeakably rancid title in vibes alone and i sincerely hope we dig into the backstory behind that a little more in AtN. i find it fascinating, and troubling, and tragic, and frustrating, all the ways in which he talks the talk re: cavaliers and agency and free will, but when the rubber meets the road, do his actions really back that up? arguably, not always. and the guilt and complicity and codependent toxicity there re: camilla, is like catnip to me. he loves her, he respects her, she's his best friend, he's in awe of her and her abilities and her strength. and yet, time and time again, he puts her through harrowing things and thanks her each time she shoulders his burdens. it's a self-fulfilling prophecy, it makes me so sad, it's a snake eating its own tail, it is a mobius strip of toxic power imbalance codependent enmeshment and it is FASCINATING to think about. if i keep going we'll be here all night, but just. i think fandom has a tendency to write him as The Good Person⢠(him and Camilla both) and, like, i love him as much as the next girl, but he's a head of state in an empire, with all the implications that brings with it.
favorite line: "how god takes, and takes, and takes." "fool us twice, shame on god." "thank god for that mad, stubborn, lovely girl." "it's not you, it's me wearing you." (moira quirk's inflection on that line is literally fucking haunting, btw.) "do you know, i miss harrowhark terribly." "and, most personally, this is for dulcinea septimus." god. i just love him

They have a pratical mind - Capricorns are known for having a practical mindset. They tend to have a straightforward approach to problem-solving and are not easily swayed from their line of reasoning. As a result, if youâre seeking guidance or advice from a Capricorn, a Capricorn it will advise you clearly and directly, without using unnecessary or flowery language.
They keep information for a longer time - Capricorns are known for their remarkable ability to retain information for extended periods of time. Even if they learned a subject in their early schooling years, they are likely to remember at least some of it. This is due, in part, to their practical and detail-oriented approach to life. Capricorns are meticulous in their research and diligent in their note-taking (drawings are notes too okay, they have meaning), making it easier for them to recall important details when needed. Another reason why Capricorns are excellent at retaining information is their keen sense of time management. They are acutely aware of the value of time and are always looking for ways to make the most of it. This often means prioritizing their learning and staying focused on their goals. By keeping their eye on the prize and using their time wisely, Capricorns are able to accumulate a wealth of knowledge and retain it for the long term.
They hate lazy people - Capricorns are known for their strong work ethic and dislike of lazy individuals. They value hard work and dedication and often hold themselves to a high standard when it comes to productivity and accomplishment. When encountering someone who lacks motivation or is unwilling to put in the effort to get things done, Capricorns can become frustrated and annoyed for several reasons. Firstly, Capricorns are typically reliable and responsible individuals who take their commitments seriously. They expect the same level of commitment and reliability from those around them, and lazy individuals can be a liability. Capricorns value teamwork and collaboration, but they need to be able to trust that their colleagues will do their fair share of the work. When a lazy person is involved, Capricorns may feel that they cannot count on them and that everything will fall on their shoulders. Secondly, Capricorns are generally not keen on providing assistance to those who are not willing to help themselves. Lazy individuals may be quick to ask for favors or services from others, but Capricorns may be hesitant to oblige. This is because Capricorns are aware of the effort and dedication required to achieve success, and they may feel that someone who is lazy has not earned the right to receive help from others.
They can read minds - Capricorns are known for their keen ability to pick up on non-verbal cues and âread the mindsâ of those around them. They pay close attention to gestures and body expressions, which can often reveal more about a person's thoughts and feelings than their words alone. Capricorns are skilled at analyzing body language and are able to interpret subtle cues with great accuracy. Moreover, Capricorns tend to develop a deep understanding of the people they spend time with. They are perceptive and observant, and over time they become attuned to the nuances of a person's intonation, speaking style, and overall demeanor. This allows them to communicate more effectively with those around them, even when the words being spoken are not entirely clear. In addition to their ability to read non-verbal cues, Capricorns are also skilled listeners. They know how to ask insightful questions and how to actively listen to the responses they receive. This allows them to gain a deeper understanding of the people they interact with and to form strong relationships based on mutual understanding and trust.
They can be tough with words - Capricorns can be quite direct and concise when it comes to communicating with others. They have a practical and no-nonsense approach to conversation and are often careful not to waste words or beat around the bush. This is because they value efficiency and productivity, and they want to ensure that their message is conveyed clearly and effectively. However, when Capricorns are pushed to their limits or become frustrated with a situation or person, they can become quite blunt and even harsh with their words. This is because they have a low tolerance for nonsense and are not afraid to speak their mind when they feel that it is necessary. When they feel that someone is not taking them seriously or is not acting in the best interest of themselves or the group, they may resort to using tough words to get their point across. In fact, Capricorns have a reputation for being brutally honest at times, and they are not afraid to tell others what they need to hear, even if it is not what they want to hear. While this can be difficult for some to handle, Capricorns believe that honesty is the best policy and that it is important to address issues directly and head-on rather than letting them fester and grow over time.
Theyâre ambitious - Capricorns are known for their ambitious nature and their drive to achieve success in all aspects of their lives. As the lords of the tenth house in astrology, Capricorns are associated with career and public life, and they often dream big when it comes to their professional goals. For Capricorns, ambition is not just a desire, but a driving force that motivates them to work hard and strive for excellence. They are willing to put in the time and effort necessary to climb the ladder of success and achieve their goals, no matter how challenging the path may be. In fact, Capricorns are often drawn to positions of power and leadership, as they see these roles as opportunities to make a positive impact on the world and to leave a lasting legacy. They have a natural inclination towards strategy and planning, and they excel at taking calculated risks and navigating complex situations to achieve their desired outcomes. As symbolized by the goat, Capricorns are adept at scaling even the most daunting challenges and obstacles, and they have a relentless determination to reach the top. They are not afraid of hard work or sacrifice, and they are willing to push themselves beyond their limits in order to achieve their goals.
They just believe it if they can see it - As a grounded and practical earth sign, Capricorns tend to approach beliefs and ideologies with a healthy dose of skepticism. They are not quick to adopt a particular viewpoint or philosophy simply because it is popular or trendy, but rather prefer to conduct their own research and analysis before coming to a conclusion. Capricorns have a strong desire to understand the world around them, and they approach this quest for knowledge with a methodical and analytical approach. They are not content to simply accept things at face value, but instead prefer to delve deeper and explore the underlying principles and concepts that govern a particular subject. Whether it is religion, philosophy, or any other area of study, Capricorns approach the topic with a rigorous and thorough mindset. They are not content to simply read a few books or articles on the subject, but rather immerse themselves in the topic to gain a deep and nuanced understanding. For Capricorns, belief is not something that is taken lightly, but rather a deeply personal and well-considered decision. They will only adhere to a particular set of beliefs or values after they have thoroughly researched and analyzed the subject, and they are not swayed by popular opinion or peer pressure.
They donât like games - Capricorns are known for their practicality and no-nonsense approach to life. When it comes to communication, they prefer directness and honesty over emotional games and subtle hints. If you need something from a Capricorn, it's best to be straightforward and to the point. A simple message like "Hello, good morning. I need xxx" will be appreciated more than a long, drawn-out conversation filled with emotional subtext. In fact, Capricorns may view emotional games as a waste of time and energy. They prefer to focus on their goals and priorities, and they don't want to be sidetracked by unnecessary drama or emotional manipulation. This doesn't mean that Capricorns are unfeeling or insensitive; they simply value honesty and straightforwardness above all else. So if you want to communicate effectively with a Capricorn, keep your message concise, clear, and to the point. Avoid trying to read between the lines or playing guessing games. Be honest about your needs and intentions, and you'll earn their respect and appreciation.
They do not forgive easily - Capricorns, being governed by Saturn, are known for their serious and disciplined nature. They value tradition and responsibility, and they tend to take their commitments very seriously. As a result, they may have difficulty forgiving and forgetting when they feel that they have been wronged. For Capricorns, time is a precious commodity, and they don't like to waste it on things that they perceive to be trivial or unimportant. When someone hurts or disappoints them, it can feel like a betrayal of that valuable time and energy. As a result, they may hold onto negative feelings and memories for a long time, even years or decades after the fact. In a way, Capricorns' memories are like a lemniscate - a looping figure-eight shape that symbolizes infinity. What happened to them in the past is not just a momentary blip, but something that will be repeated and reinforced in their memory over time. This doesn't mean that Capricorns are incapable of forgiveness or moving on; it just means that they take their emotional experiences very seriously and don't want to repeat past mistakes. So if you're dealing with a Capricorn and want to repair a relationship that's been damaged, it's important to be patient and persistent. You may need to prove yourself over time and show that you're truly committed to making things right. With time, effort, and sincerity, you may be able to earn their forgiveness and restore the trust that was lost.
They like quality - Capricorns are known for their appreciation of quality in all areas of their lives. They tend to value longevity and durability over quick and easy gratification, which can manifest in their approach to both friendships and material possessions. When it comes to friendships, Capricorns tend to be selective and deliberate in their choices. They value loyalty, trust, and dependability in their relationships, and they don't want to waste their time and energy on superficial connections that won't stand the test of time. Instead, they invest in friendships that are built on a foundation of mutual respect and shared values, and they're willing to put in the effort to maintain those relationships over the long term.Similarly, when it comes to material possessions, Capricorns tend to prefer quality over quantity. They'd rather invest in a few high-quality items that will last a long time than accumulate a bunch of cheap, disposable goods that will quickly wear out or break. This means that they may be willing to spend more money up front for a well-made item that will serve them well for years to come.
Theyâre independent - Capricorns are known for their independent nature and self-sufficient attitude. From a young age, they learn to take care of themselves and rely on their own abilities to navigate the world around them. As a result, they can have a hard time depending on others to get things done. Capricorns value their autonomy and don't like feeling like they're at the mercy of someone else's schedule or abilities. They're often self-starters who prefer to take charge of their own projects and work independently to achieve their goals. This can sometimes make them seem aloof or detached, but it's simply a reflection of their desire for self-reliance and control. In fact, Capricorns often take great pride in their ability to manage their own lives and take care of themselves. They may see depending on others as a sign of weakness or incompetence, and they'll do everything they can to avoid having to rely on someone else for help or support. This independent streak can serve Capricorns well in many areas of their lives, from their careers to their personal relationships. They're often able to achieve great success on their own terms, without needing to rely on others for validation or assistance. However, it's important for Capricorns to remember that no one can do everything alone. At times, they may need to reach out for help or support, whether it's from friends, family, or colleagues. Learning to trust and depend on others can be a valuable skill for Capricorns to cultivate, as it can help them build stronger relationships and achieve even greater success in the long run.
They are emotionally strong - When they experience intense emotions, they're able to quickly process and analyze their feelings, often using self-reflection and introspection to understand why they're feeling a certain way. Rather than getting swept up in the moment and reacting impulsively, Capricorns are able to detach themselves from their emotions and take a more objective approach. They're able to see their feelings as something separate from themselves, something that can be observed and analyzed from a distance. This emotional strength allows Capricorns to navigate difficult situations and handle challenging emotions with grace and poise. They're able to stay calm and centered even in the face of adversity, drawing on their inner reserves of strength and resilience to keep going. However, it's important to note that this emotional detachment can sometimes make Capricorns appear cold or unfeeling to others. They may struggle to connect with people on a deeper emotional level, or find it hard to express their own emotions to others. This is something that Capricorns may need to work on, particularly in their personal relationships.
They learn languages with ease - Capricorns have a natural gift for learning languages. Their rational nature and thirst for independence often leads them to explore new cultures and travel the world, and being able to communicate with people from different backgrounds is essential to that goal. Capricorns are often quick learners when it comes to language acquisition. They have a keen ear for picking up the nuances of pronunciation and grammar, and their disciplined approach to learning means they're able to master new vocabulary and grammar rules quickly. However, it's not just their practical motivations that drive Capricorns to learn new languages. They're also deeply curious about the world and the people in it, and learning a new language is a way to connect more deeply with other cultures and gain a broader perspective on the world. For Capricorns, language learning is not just a means to an end, but an end in itself. They take pride in their ability to communicate with people from different backgrounds and to understand the nuances of different cultures. Their love of learning and their natural curiosity mean that they're always seeking out new opportunities to expand their linguistic horizons.
F.B.I - Capricorns have a natural talent for investigation and research. When they're curious about something, they're not content to simply accept things at face value. Instead, they dig deep to uncover the truth, using their analytical skills and attention to detail to uncover even the most hidden secrets.Capricorns are not typically suspicious by nature, but if something doesn't seem quite right, they won't hesitate to investigate further. They're not afraid to ask tough questions, and they have a talent for finding information that others might miss. However, Capricorns are also deeply private and guarded, and they won't reveal what they've learned unless they feel it's necessary. They're not the type to gossip or spread rumors, and they're careful to keep their investigations to themselves unless they have a good reason to share what they've discovered.Overall, Capricorns' talent for investigation is a testament to their analytical skills, attention to detail, and natural curiosity. By seeking out the truth and uncovering hidden information, they're able to make more informed decisions and navigate the world with greater confidence and understanding.
Theyâre reserved - Capricorns are known for being reserved and cautious when it comes to opening up to others. They don't trust easily and prefer to take their time in getting to know someone before letting down their guard. Even after opening up, they still value their alone time, using it as a way to reflect and recharge. For Capricorns, building a friendship is like aging a fine wine. They know that it takes time and patience to create something truly valuable, and they're willing to invest the time and energy necessary to develop deep, meaningful relationships. They're not interested in superficial connections or fleeting acquaintances; they want to build friendships that last a lifetime. This slow and deliberate approach to building friendships also applies to their relationship with themselves. Capricorns understand the value of self-reflection and self-care, and they take the time to nurture their own emotional well-being. They're not afraid to spend time alone with their thoughts, and they use this time to deepen their understanding of themselves and the world around them.
They like routine - Capricorns are creatures of habit and thrive on routine. They find comfort in having a sense of control over their lives, and they feel more grounded when they have a structured routine to follow. In their early years, Capricorns may struggle with following a routine, as they are naturally curious and enjoy exploring new experiences. However, as they mature and begin to take on more responsibilities, they start to see the benefits of having a routine in their lives. For Capricorns, having a routine is not just about staying organized and on track - it's also about creating a sense of familiarity and comfort. When they leave home or travel to new places, having a routine can help them feel more grounded and connected to their sense of home.Despite their love of routine, Capricorns are not rigid or inflexible. They understand that life can be unpredictable and that sometimes, routines need to be adjusted to accommodate unexpected events or changes in circumstances. However, they still value the structure and stability that routines provide, and they're willing to put in the effort to create a routine that works for them.
They have a loose side - Despite their reputation for being serious and reserved, Capricorns have a fun and playful side that they often keep hidden from others. This hidden side of Capricorn is influenced by their neighboring zodiac sign, Sagittarius, since itâs that part that Cap hides even from itself. When Capricorns finally let their guard down and show their playful side to others, they can be surprisingly fun-loving and spontaneous. They enjoy good humor and love to laugh, especially at sarcastic jokes and witty banter. Capricorns may seem reserved and serious on the surface, but beneath that exterior lies a sense of adventure and a thirst for new experiences. They enjoy trying new things and exploring new places, and they're always up for a good party or social gathering. While their serious and responsible nature is certainly a defining characteristic of Capricorns, it's important to remember that they're multi-dimensional individuals with a variety of interests and personality traits. By embracing their playful and adventurous side, Capricorns can find a balance between work and play, and live life to the fullest.
They love solitude - While they enjoy spending time with friends and family, they also cherish their alone time as an opportunity to recharge and reflect. For Capricorns, time alone is a chance to escape from the pressures and expectations of the outside world. It's a time to focus on their own interests and passions without the distractions of daily life. This is when they can truly be themselves and indulge in their own creativity, whether it's through writing, art, or other hobbies. Many Capricorns see solitude as a way to cultivate inner peace and emotional balance. It allows them to tune out the noise of the world and connect with their deepest thoughts and feelings. This introspective time helps them understand themselves better, and they use this understanding to navigate their lives with greater wisdom and insight. While some may see solitude as lonely or isolating, for Capricorns it is a cherished aspect of their lives. It is a time to nurture their souls and recharge their batteries, so that they can face the world with renewed energy and purpose.
They hide secrets - Capricorns are known for being very private individuals. While they may be friendly and outgoing, there is always a part of themselves that they keep hidden from the world. This is especially true when it comes to their personal secrets. For Capricorns, secrets are like treasures that they guard closely. They may have secrets about their past, their dreams, or their deepest fears. Whatever the nature of the secret, it is something that they hold onto tightly because it is a part of who they are. While some may see their secretiveness as a negative trait, for Capricorns it is a way to maintain a sense of mystery and excitement in their lives. They believe that by keeping secrets, they can maintain a sense of control over their lives and keep things interesting. However, it's important to note that not all Capricorns are secretive in the same way. Some may have a few small secrets that they keep to themselves, while others may have bigger secrets that they only share with their closest confidantes. Regardless of the size or nature of their secrets, it's important to respect their need for privacy and understand that it is an important aspect of their personality.

Capricorn Season Chapter Thirty-Two
Author's note: Sorry I've been gone for so long! Life has been crazy. This chapter is from Peter's POV
Table of Contents
I've found abrasiveness is the most effective approach in life. I was small and meek in my childhood. People looked right past me--over my shoulder to more important, better people. It was only when I learned to defend myself that I truly came into my own.
When someone needs something done, they call me. I have become a man with connections and solutions. I know how to talk myself out of any situation, and can intimidate if needed. I've built myself from a block of granite and stone, from the ground-up. I put in all my effort to become who I am today---someone my family is proud of. Someone I am proud of.Â
I am lucky to have these people in my life and be blessed with riches I had never seen before. I dreamed of money and fame as a young boy, and I supposed I had achieved it. Many people do not see their dreams. I am one of those lucky few who have. Perhaps God just favored me and put a drop of luck in my cup. I drank from this cup now, as I sent checks home to Gloria and called Warren before bed.Â
Iâve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I always wanted to make money. At night I would lie in bed and dream of all the riches Mum and I could have. I imagined buying her a house and getting her off her feet. I imagined cars and fame, people chanting my name, handing me money for no reason at all. I wanted glory.Â
I never set out to be an entertainment manager. I started working in a sheet metal factory, which only lasted three weeks. I knew there were bigger things in life that I wanted. I soon got a job working for Reuters, which wasn't very fulfilling either. I have learned that I am a working man, I get total happiness from my job. When I am not working, not making money, I become depressed.
Then I found the business. I worked my way up, starting with Wrestling entertainment, then being a bouncer, and then I ran a commercial transportation service, where I met Jimmy. It was in this world that I really found my knack.Â
Two years ago we met with Atlantic Records in New York. The band had just finished their first albumârecorded in the studio's downtimeâand we sat down to negotiate a deal. They wanted to fuck us at first. They offered a piddling deal with minimal rights belonging to us. I told them how I'd seen it, that they owned everything and we got nothing. I was stern, just as you had to be with these record executives.
I tried my best to ensure we were getting our end of the deal. Jimmy trusted me and I wanted to do right by him. I saw him as an honest person, something you don't see too much these days. I met him when he was a young lad, at the age of 22 when he was still vulnerable and excited.Â
Zeppelin is a complete marriage of all our ideas. I had a purpose with these boys. I really believe in their music. I took a chance on them because I admired Jimmy and his work ethic. He was a man I could see going far. And haven't we? For Bullock's sake, we're on another North American tour!
He had a shine to his eyes that only a fresh-faced man with that much talent could possess. I saw his immense drive and passion and wanted to wrangle that in. With a lesser manager, one that would take advantage of him, his talents would go unseen. He would fall into the cracks and die known as the short-lived guitarist for The Yardbirds.Â
Jimmy had a vision that I shared. We wanted to put our hands together and create a foundation for a supergroup. He wanted to blow the roof off venues and I knew how to make that happen. I think we were fated, in some cosmic and marvelous way.
Now, Gwen, on the other hand, was an obstacle. I had not been fond of her since the day we met. There was something about her eyes that just irked me. It was almost prophetic, how I could feel something brewing. Destruction is on the horizon and she is standing in the eye of the hurricane. A dark cloud encircles her.
I knew Jimmy was in trouble with this one. I tried to tell him so, but he didn't believe me. He just shoved my attempts away and told me he was in love. Perhaps she is perfect for Jimmy, but I hardly think that's a good thing. I prefer him when he's focused on the music and without a woman on his ankle. He says he's in love, but I don't agree. I think he's fallen in love with her insides and become a slave for sex. She has him whipped in a way I've never seen before. He didn't so much as look at another woman before she joined the tour. He was a new man.
Just the other day, Jimmy came to me and filed a complaint. He told me to quell Bonzo. He also told me I could not yell at her, which I found humorous. He did not appreciate the beautiful sound of my laughter. He just pushed his brows together and grimaced. His agitation was only pushed when I told him what I thought of her.Â
I find myself being right more often than not. I was right about Zeppelin, despite what the number of record executives said, I was right about Warren being a boy, and I was right about Brazil winning the World Cup.Â
And one thing I am sure of is that Gwen is a ruiner. Yesterday, I heard her talking to Robert about his tour habits and how to change them. She is poisoning our water supply! I don't want the boys to get distracted by her.Â
"Hold on, let me finish, you got to talk and so do I. I think she's a death call. She shouldn't be here and you know that. That's why you had to trick me."
He was silent, looking at me with slanted eyes and pursed lips. Could he have been trying to challenge me? I don't think he would even try. He stomped away, rather obnoxiously, and was gone quickly.Â
I knew they weren't going to last from this interaction. He didn't have the strength to stand up for his woman and she didn't know how to shut up. I knew this couple well, and their roles, as I had played them before. They would crumble and he would move on and get back to playing. I just hoped the music wouldn't suffer too much.
-Â Â
Ever since this conversation, I could feel his frustration with me. I had to whip him into shape and remind him who got him this deal. This angered him even more. He bared his teeth and flared his nostrils, speaking with burning vexation.Â
"Need I remind you whose band this is? I could fire you, you're under no contract."Â
"You're gonna fire me?" I laughed.Â
"If you keep speaking this way."Â
"Yeah, we'll see how well that goes. You'll be left with Richard." I parried his every attack and jab. He was not a worthy opponent. He was hilarious, how tiny he looked as he waved his arms angrily. He reminded me of Warren as a toddler. I patted his shoulder and let him walk away. I wasn't upset with him at that moment. That came later.Â
I actually admired his show of emotion. He was an austere man. He didn't emote or express how he felt most of the time. Now he was taking charge and putting his life into his own hands. It was a wonder to see this man grow up, but I felt he was misguided.Â
I wasn't angry with him because I knew how he felt. I remembered what it was like to be in love for the first time. They're in their mid-20s, possibly living together, and are inseparable. They're engrossed in each other's lives because they feel so deeply. She would be a lovely girl if she weren't impeding business.
In all his youthful vigor, he was fiery with his feelings of love. He took this relationship entirely too seriously. When you're young and in love, there is time to waste. He needs to frolic a bit more. I remembered my first great love, my first serious relationship, and regretted how bitterly it ended. It is the trembling hand of the first that cuts you the deepest. I wished not to see him this way, but I also need him to pull his head out of his ass. Â
She was impeding business. She was a constant distraction. Before she joined the guys were focused and calm. They understood that they were here for work, Jimmy especially. He doesn't care about the music as much as he once did. I can tell his heart is in her hands rather than in the music. Robert is wrapped up in this woman he's found, just the same. I can't stand that either, but at least she's pleasant.
They annoyed me a great deal. Not once have I enjoyed the sound of argument from these two. Day in and day out, always bitching and moaning. Gwen is the antagonist, she knows just how to push his buttons. She is an expert at getting under his skin and making a nest there. She's like a tick.
-Â Â
The next day we were burdened by the bickering of Bonzo and Gwen. He was yelling something about titties, and how the guys needed to see them. I laughed to myself and kept reading my paper.Â
I find myself becoming increasingly sick of her. She is a patch of turbulent wind on our smooth sails. I have worked entirely too hard to let some American girl ruin all we've accomplished. I scored us the biggest record deal, I overturned the power into the band's hands, and I run the numbers. I have kept a close eye on this band and led us to great heights. She will not be the reason we fail.Â
If she wasn't Jimmy's girlfriend I would've already kicked her off. I wanted to kick her off. But I couldn't. I settled on screaming at her. I reached my goal of shutting her up. She stomped off to her hotel room like a child.Â
He and Robert turned back up minutes later. Gwen and Jonesy had been muttering to themselves, criticizing Bonzo and talking about some girly book. Honestly, I didn't know Jones to be so soft. I thought he could have a crush on her, how much he cared for her. Every time she spoke he was fully listening. They were close, much closer than friends, and he looked at her the way a mosquito looks at a flesh wound.Â
He beckoned them all in and they returned shortly. The group was angry. A general feeling of tension sat on their faces. When Bonzo started in on her she responded with a petty demeanor. Basically, she was a bitch. She prodded at him with great force. Very unprofessional.Â
I returned to my hotel room as usual. It was dark and desolate. The only lightâshining from the windowâwas the bright moon. It shone down with its fat, white back to me. I retired to the bed with a sigh.Â
I returned to my paper, triumphant for today.Â
-
I counted todayâs stack. The promoter paid $2,000, which was to be split four equal ways after my cut. Ticket and album sales went to the accountant, who I happened to dislike. He was too excitable. The record company took care of flights and paying roadies. I had to arrange cars and drivers. I opened my suitcase and pulled out the secure envelope. It held all of my cash earnings from the last six months.Â
This bloody tour was going on forever. Tensions were high, always, but this one especially. Every moment was filled with emotion and drama, especially for the musicians. Richard and I, as well as the roadies, were not so much a part of this. The boys were like women in so many ways, how deeply they felt and how savagely they fought. I was almost surprised at Bonzo's aggression toward Jimmy's girl.
When the boys felt this way I always said, what's a little discomfort for all this money? But I was feeling it too.Â
I was thinking of Gloria. I thought about her face, the openness of her features, and the beauty of her cheekbones. I could've cried, I could've called to God at that moment. Anything to feel her softness under my fingertips once again.
The person who gets to see my soft underbelly is Gloria. She is the love of my life, the woman who makes the sun rise and the moon rest. I believe she was an angel put on earth for me. She gave me my wonderful child, Warren. That was a debt I could never repay.Â
Sometimes I filled her absence with the company of a strange woman. The familiar feeling of long-tipped nails on my skin became a welcome visitor nightly.
---
I was riddled with guilt. Every time I had to get in the car and leave for the airport I felt it. It settled into my skin on the plane ride. I was in tune with my own father-- walking his missteps in perfect time. Each time I had to say goodbye to Warren's little face and Gloria's wonderful embrace I could only think of everything Iâd done when I was away from them.Â
I would not be alone in this feeling. The guys all longed for their lost homes. We were all ill on the road, inflicted with homesickness. We all had done things we werenât proud of.Â

On the Nametaker being a "nice" abuser
(noncon, forced feminization, forced pregnancy, infantilization)
(On a Black Legionnaire being convinced he was right to kidnap an Imperial Fist and force them to transition and get pregnant over and over again because "that's what most trans girls want".)
Farhad believing he's the good guy by kidnapping and altering Clothilde is just his perspective. Qui veut faire l'ange fait la bĂŞte.
I think it's an amusing scenario to explore - someone doing cartoonishly evil stuff in the name of helping the girl he's in love with and convinced he's doing the right thing. Regardless if the girl thinks he's being helpful.
How I approach his character is influenced by Elmyra Duff from Tiny Toons, and my experience owning guinea pigs.
Elmyra Duff is a girl who loves animals so much, but she is unaware how overbearing and scary she is to the animals, who run away. She isn't malicious, but her actions are still hurtful:
youtube
I have two guinea pigs that live in a cage beside my bed. Every day I clean their cage and every week I change out their bedding. They run when I try to pet them or pick them up. I love them and spent so much money on them, but it feels like they hate me. This is Farhad annoyed that his wives don't like him.
Of course, if you treated people like you treated guinea pigs, by keeping them in a cage and chasing them into hideys so you can pick them up for nail clipping, taking them to the vet to get hormone injections without their consent, that would be wrong. But we guinea pig owners clearly understand that guinea pigs can't make their own decisions and wouldn't survive in the wild, so we make their decisions for them.
So imagine a guy who thinks Imperial Space Marines are guinea pigs. Adorable and darling, but beneath him and unable to make their own decisions. He's over 10,000 years old and a 200-year-old Imperial Fist is practically a baby in comparison. It's not like they had free will in the Imperium, he thinks. He is good at justifying his bad behavior to himself.
The love he expresses is the love farmers show their animals, because being mean to animals on purpose lowers their productivity. I like to overthink kink scenarios so from a realism standpoint...
He doesn't beat his wives or put them down on purpose because of self interest. He knows it will harm his children's development if their mamas are downright miserable. I mean, they're still miserable no matter how hard he tries, but they could be even more miserable.
This care, this love he shows does not negate how he infantilizes his victims and controls most aspects of their lives. There's no ethical way to "own" a person.
I don't think I should have to make him be awful 24/7 to get across to my audience that what he's doing is wrong!
I think it's a No True Scotsman fallacy to claim that abusive people don't really love their victims. Not to get all personal, but I know there's people in my life who've hurt me, who've infantilized me, who love me.
Also in a non-diegetic BDSM sense I like it when the hot dog boy Black Legionnaire is "nice" to his subs.

Earlier you and I (and this is how you'll know who I am) were talking in someone's comment section about the two hacktivist groups, Anonymous and User, the latter of whom I figured you were, and I couldn't answer you while there, so I've come here to tell you the difference between the two groups, though it also helps to look these people up.
Anonymous Let's start off with the group almost everyone knows about. Anonymous is the group most notable for the slogan "we do not forgive, we do not forget", which refers to its interest in the justice of the world, which, under its veil of literal ambiguity, it pushes for against those in power who wish to stall it. This veil extracts a sense of quantity out of its identity, as the vastness of anonymity, which is inspired by the 4chan presence of peoples whom an "anonymous" name have been applied, as well as the character V in V for Vendetta who shows that it can envelope all forces and functions as it refers to all figures unknown, is akin to an ocean, one which can blur the concept of whatever a perpetrator may be. They, using the ocean that is themselves as a self-enforcing unifying force, also take inspiration from the alter egos of vigilantes of stories of old, though things are not always black and white, as the herd mentality implied by this ocean can, like the ever-changing winds, lead Anonymous to also commit less than stellar acts, as the ocean is only as good as the droplets in it. They are the soul of the web, able to come forth into the world of life to manifest as shadows to enact vengeance upon those they deem wrongdoers.
User User is a group whose mental conception is similar to Anonymous but with key features. A vigilante presence that operates under the milieus whereupon violence and justice are not perceived as the primary key modus operandis, they, while not under a veil like Anonymous, operate under some sense of ambiguity, not which one can say stems from identity but rather imbued in the aura of their actions, which one can say extracts a sense of quantity as well, which are the Machiavellianism/resourcefulness to Anonymous' crackdown, the independently-thinking "trickster character" Loki to Anonymous' herd-thinking "vigilante" Thor. They, in a vain not unlike Anonymous, in a similar self-enforcing unified way via the self-applying implications of their rationale which they don't believe is wrongful so as long as they do it for good (which, like Anonymous, is not an inherent adjective for them, should circumstances guide them off like seismic forces to a more or less desirable direction), believe in a restoration of all that is appreciable in the world, but, defined by the above difference, adhere to a modus operandi that sees them affected by an ambiguity bestowed by the likes of proxies, maneuvers, and what might be called consequentialist actions, with their names having similarly group-oriented origins, with User coming from the hidden nature of an individual whose actions cloud themselves in concealed side-effort methods in order to achieve the end goal, such as, for example, the Ismali Muslims (who invented Assassin's Creed by the way) posing as important people using their voice to guide the right people in place before they could kill rival powers once all the circumstances were facing the right way, which as I read about your ten e-cepts at https://www.deviantart.com/triagonal/art/The-Ten-E-Cepts-written-based-on-one-s-experience-899257268 and https://www.tumblr.com/deviantartdramahub/725681730451800064/i-have-a-question-about?source=share was a thought that came to mind, though it could be interpreted as being of both groups, both in the great web and even the noosphere.
User, with its own slogan of also not forgetting but also encompassing rather than ever judging, is at times the ally of those who call themselves Anonymous and other times its rival and even foe, similar to the ninja and samurai, due to their different ethical-inspired approaches to issues plaguing the world, but they always share the same struggles.
I know, my friend, I know. And you know why.
"User" is also an acronym, at least if you ask some circles.
