We think over half our alters are introjects but still it’s so scary to develop one because people are so extremely weird about that kind of stuff. We’ve had old mutuals go around saying they downright didn’t respect introjects as people. Often in fake claiming campaigns introjects are a common reason to attack a system. Like people think introject = high kinning nd therefore isn’t actually valid when it’s like. An introject developing isn’t based around choice ! It just happens ! Nd they are in fact the most common alter type even among non online systems!! It’s common for older systems to have introjects of old tv characters, we’ve known younger system with exclusively pokemon alters, it’s common and understandable given media’s effect on folks yet people think it’s a valid reason to attack others!! It’s ridiculous, we often feel horrified being openly plural due to introjects because of all the implications people may assume of us. We’ve avoided fandom because saying “x character is in our head” feels like an instant okay for people to be weird to you and/or uncomfortable around you. It’s so mind boggling to us the audacity and cruelty of others for something so easily understood and explained.
#it’s so simple . system develops from trauma -> system sees character which brings them comfort -> system develops alter of said character#to protect the system / help it#we think syscourse may be the spawn of the devil. whoever thought to turn a heavily personalized trauma disorder into a point of debate is#vile to us#the amount of self hate and self isolation we’ve had all due to people being cruel is so#nd singlets can be so weird about it too -_-#we’ve had people think that us being a character they like meant they had a pass to HIT ON US#it’s like . grabs head . what are you people thinking !!!#people see blorbo from their shows in an alter list nd think okay so i can just openly thirst over this person right#what if we the world explode ?#sorry for the rant we’re glad to have let off steam actually#nothing recently has made us feel this upset#we’re moreso upset over how much guilt our new introject has nd we know exactly why#people online need to gain some compassion for the mentally ill#did tag#if you read all this heck yeah hugs you if that’s okay

The past and the future
People in my past have made me so afriad of the flaws I can't see but know I have. I was learning as alone as possible because the last time a flaw of mine was found (I used to be extremely people pleasing to the point where I couldn't say "no" to people, even if I really wanted to, and it lead to me being manipulated), it was exploited and used to demonize me and make me into a spectacle. I was punished for "allowing myself to be manipulated". I was demonized, ostracized, and alienated. It was made "morally ok" to spread rumors, lies, and general hatred about me among peers and even some of the school staff (and this was all in person. Not online as far as I know, so I couldn't just turn it off).
I also suspect there was a bit of homophobia and transphobia involved because of some fishy things going on. One of the people involved was directly related to a homophobic staff member, some of the rumors were looking a lot like what you usually see going around with the demonization of trans people, and also the fact that I had very recently come out as genderfluid. It bothers me, but I can't be certain if this targeting was homophobic or transphobic in nature. I just don't have enough evidence. Regardless, I was still a minor at that time, thus, the way it was handled is a little concerning to me, but I also don't believe this treatment of me would have been any more "ok" if it had happened to me at any age.
How am I expected to learn and grow if my inevitable mistakes are treated like unforgivable sin? If my ignorance is treated like murder?
How can I change for the better if my mistakes are met with cruelty and villainization instead of education?
Do you blame one who falls into a pit of spikes because they didn't recognize the pattern of leaves covering it? Is this fairness to you?
Because I am willing to learn, I must also be allowed to make mistakes along the way.
I am not perfect and I never will be. I am flawed like all the rest of us.
May I be a better and wiser person with each year of my life, and may others as well as my aging mind allow for this eternal growth until my death.
Self improvement is a task that will never be finished, but one I will strive to progress on always and forever, regardless of the fear of how my peers see my faliures. My confidence was stripped away, but I will be brave and it will return. I will make sure of it.
It is extremely hard to see yourself as anything but a bad person after defamation in what was your only community, even when you know what's being said is a lie. It doesn't stop you from being hurt when, every day, you walk alone through a building full of people you love and used to trust who now believe you are evil, disgusting, exploitable for gain/popularity, or just an idiotic lesser-than. The psychological damage is extensive.
I just hope I am offered the same compassion I offer those around me, and that, at the very least, this never happens to me again.
I know this happens to other people too. Especially people who are neurodivergent, mentally disabled, mentally ill, LGBTQIA+, people of color, people with all types of disorders both physical and mental, people with unpopular interests and stigmatized hobbies, people of different religions, people who post a lot online, and the list could go on. Bottom line is, it's not ok and I hate it. I;-'m fucking sick of it. We need compassion and empathy.
(This is about people from my life in-person, but I felt like people online could appreciate it too I guess)

What is a Support Group, and How does it work? | Solh Wellness
A support group is a group of people who have had similar life experiences and meet in a safe environment to discuss their feelings and experiences. These organisations bring together people who have shared experiences, such as fighting cancer, living with chronic illnesses, or dealing with mental health issues. Individuals experience a tremendous sense of relief after opening up and expressing themselves in front of the group. Hearing about other people's struggles and coping strategies can provide valuable insights and inspiration, as well as ideas for how to approach one's own problems.
What a support group can do for an individual
Individuals benefit greatly in many aspects of their lives from group support. Individuals can benefit from group therapy in the following ways:
Individuals can express themselves in a safe environment surrounded by others who understand and validate their emotions.
Group support fosters a sense of belonging and community, reducing feelings of isolation and connecting people with similar interests.
Members can benefit from one another's experiences and coping strategies to gain valuable insights and broaden their mental health knowledge.
Support groups frequently provide information about mental health conditions, treatments, and self-help strategies, enabling people to make better decisions.
Participating in a support group helps to validate and reduce stigma while also encouraging acceptance, self-compassion, and higher self-esteem.
A support group encourages goal-setting, progress sharing, and accomplishment celebration, all of which promote personal growth and positive change.
Seeing the resilience and recovery of others inspires hope and faith in one's own ability for change and well-being.
The Benefits of Becoming a Member of a Support Group
Sharing one's concerns with a large group of people can be frightening for some, but it can also be extremely beneficial. The following are some of the benefits of sharing thoughts and emotions with a support group:
Support groups offer a safe space for people to express their concerns and receive validation from others who can relate, thereby reducing feelings of isolation.
Sharing one's concerns with others facilitates the cathartic release of pent-up emotions and thoughts.
Members of the group bring a diverse set of perspectives and insights to the table, which helps to broaden understanding of issues and identify potential solutions.
Support groups boost resilience and well-being by offering empathy, encouragement, and emotional support.
Sharing your concerns allows you to learn from others who have had similar experiences, which can provide inspiration as well as practical advice.
While introducing new strategies and resources, group discussions encourage collaborative problem-solving.
Sharing one's flaws fosters trust and strengthens bonds within the support group.
How to Choose the Most Appropriate Help Group
It is always a good idea to do some research and evaluation before joining a support group. Before you join a group, you must first find one that meets your requirements. Here are some pointers to help you select the best group for you:
Seek advice from subject matter experts, such as mental health professionals or healthcare providers.
Seek advice from subject matter experts, such as mental health professionals or healthcare providers.
Visit websites like Solh Wellness to learn more about support groups and to join free online support groups.
Inquire about effective support groups with trusted members of your network, such as friends or family.
Attending workshops or conferences allows you to meet new people and learn about support groups.
To learn more about the focus and structure of support groups, contact the facilitators.
If possible, attend a trial session to assess the group dynamics and determine if it meets your needs.
Conclusion
Support groups provide powerful platforms for empathy, comprehension, and connection, reminding us that we are not alone in our struggles. Through shared experiences and mutual support, these groups foster a sense of belonging and provide invaluable emotional support.

Fandom Ableism in the MCYT Community
[Edited 14 June 2021]
One thing I’ve noticed about the MCYT (Dream SMP, specifically) community on both Tumblr and Twitter is that when informed of things that are ableist, or harmful to ND people, a lot of people ignore the post/tweet, derail it or actively fight against it.
“I’m ND so I can’t be ableist” is a common statement, which is blatantly untrue. Even I’ve used ableist terms and phrases before, without realising they were harmful. So as a neurodivergent person, with autism, BPD, depression/anxiety, dyslexia, psychosis & brain damage*: here’s some common ableist things both CCs and fandom say almost constantly**.
*note that not every neurodivergent person will agree with me on these, but these are commonly ableist things people have previously talked about online, and/or have been discussed between me and other neurodivergent friends. No minority can ever speak for the entire group.
**note that a lot of these are common outside the MCYT community as well, and that some of these are just considered societally acceptable. This isn’t okay, but it explains why a lot of people don’t recognise jokes or comments like these are wrong, and it means that it’s not a direct moral failing of people that they don’t immediately or directly recognise these comments as wrong.
Now, let’s get into the things you might not have realised are potentially ableist:
1. Use of “Psychopath/Psycho/Sociopath/Schizo” and other demeaning terms for people with mental illnesses as insults, or to describe characters who are considered villainous. Psychopath/Psycho/Sociopath are already terms that people with ASPD dislike using, even not as an insult, but using these terms to describe people or characters who you disagree with or see as villainous only contributes to the villainisation of people with ASPD and other mental illnesses. Using c!Dream as an example: Dream as a character is not confirmed to have any of these mental illnesses. He is, however, commonly labeled as psychotic/psychopathic, incapable of any kind of compassion.
He is also a character that fandom largely insists that nobody is allowed to sympathise with. This is a huge issue, and has hurt a lot of people, especially people with low empathy, or mental illnesses that cause them to relate to some of c!Dream’s actions (e.g. pulling away from all his friends, desperately grasping at straws to gain control of situations etc). Insisting that these characters are characters it’s impossible to sympathise with, all while calling them psychotic/psychopathic/sociopathic, is extremely harmful, and I hope this post draws attention to that.
Here’s another post that talks about that.
2. Use of the term “freak”, in general. As an insult, “freak” has been typically used to insult neurodivergent people, people with visible physical disabilities (ex. “freakshow”, and the term was reportedly created with the intent of insulting people with physical disabilities), or people who display any kind of abnormal/atypical social behaviour/physical aspects — people who are usually ND people who lack a diagnosis or people with physical disabilities. Recent usage has come to mean “people who do things that hurt other people”, but this is harmful as well; using words like “freak” or “weirdo” which mean “socially atypical behaviour” to refer to people who are actually doing things that hurt other people conflates the two, and often has a side effect of hurting disabled people who see it.
3. Calling ND ccs like Technoblade monotone/emotionless. While the term “monotone” isn’t ableist in and of itself, the fact that it’s being used against a neurodivergent man who emotes in a different way to neurotypical people rubs a lot of ND people the wrong way. I’ve partially discussed this here, in a tweet responding to a person who said that c!Technoblade, quote, “has no human capabilities like emotion for example”. This, however, is not something contained to c!Technoblade — one of the most common jokes in this fandom is how rare it is to hear emotion in Technoblade’s voice.
The issue with that is that neurodivergent people almost universally agree that Technoblade emotes perfectly fine, and, in fact, emotes more freely and clearly than a lot of others do. Hence, calling him monotone perpetuates the idea of ND people as emotionless/less able to be hurt/less expressive, which often hurts us. It also contributes to the dehumanisation of ND people — related to how ND symptoms are most often seen in robots or monsters in shows — and is generally extremely harmful, on top of being untrue.
4. Related to point 3: the infantilisation of ND ccs like Tubbo and Dream, usually paired with assigning “caretakers” of their friends, like Tommy and George. This is about the posts that spread like “omg, Tommy helps Tubbo with his dyslexia, that’s so cute” or “omg George is so patient with Dream, I could never sit through that” on videos of Dream vocally stimming because of his ADHD. This is another post that talks about this, but I wanted to talk more about why this is harmful here.
4a) With Tubbo’s dyslexia, from someone with dyslexia, it isn’t harmful to correct his spelling and move on. Personally, I think this is helpful — others will think it’s condescending, because not all ND people are the same — but as the above linked post mentions, this is not what Tubbo’s twitch chat does. This is not what the comments say. It’s all things about how it’s “so cute” that Tubbo can’t spell, how Tommy/Ranboo are “so patient” with correcting him. This is rooted in the need to constantly watch over ND people while acting like we can't live our lives without someone having us under constant vigilance. It feels like savior-complex ableism, like people are trying so hard to not be ableist that they spin back around to hurting us instead. And it feels like we are being treated like children. Like we are lesser than, and need to be monitored/watched over.
4b) Similarly to what people do with Tubbo, the comments on posts about Dream’s vocal stimming are often full of people calling George “patient” for “dealing with it”, or claiming they “wouldn’t be able to handle it”. This is inherently ableist. They’re praising George for basic human decency towards ND people, and claiming in the same breath that they wouldn’t be able to do that themselves. And then there’s these.
These comments infantilise Dream — claiming he “wouldn’t be able to stop/calm down” without George’s help, implying he’d “spiral out of control” or claiming “everyone is now my child”. It’s all related to the infantilisation of ND people, and the belief that without help/a caretaker we cannot take care of ourselves.
5. The way people treat ccs who likely have undiagnosed neurodivergencies, like Wilbur. Wilbur has openly admitted on stream before that his parents considered getting him an autism diagnosis. He also openly admits on stream that he has habits he doesn’t understand why he does, and hyperfixates on things for months at a time and doesn’t know why. Posts like this have gone around Tumblr, in which Wilbur displays blatantly ND traits.
And fandom generally calls him weird for expressing those traits. This video where he talks about eating sand because he likes the texture? That’s an ND trait. This video where he talks about his irrational hatred for anteaters? While mostly a joke, irrational hatred of something when you can’t explain/understand/articulate why is also a common ND trait. He spends 20 minutes during a Philza stream info-dumping about self-sustaining ecosystems (sharing the photo, because I think it’s really cool) and fandom begins calling them “Wilbur’s weird jars”. It’s demeaning to people who infodump, and as a ND person who hyperfixates and infodumps it’s really upsetting to see. It’s also upsetting to see other ND traits being called “weird” or “freaky” & made out to be soley some funny joke for NT people to laugh at us about.
Additionally: It’s strange to me that people think it’s okay to make fun of ND traits just because they know that or perceive that the person they’re making fun of is NT. It’s still making fun of ND traits. It’s still insulting ND people. It’s still ableist as hell. Why is it okay just because the person is NT?
6. Implying that c!Ranboo’s enderwalking is inherently violent. Ranboo has shown us time and time again that the enderwalk state isn’t a violent state. That the enderwalk state isn’t a seperate version of c!Ranboo that does horrific things. Why, then, is it so common to imply that Ranboo would be violent and hurt people why he’s enderwalking?
It comes back to the perception of c!Ranboo as a character with “two halves”, or as a character with DID. Ranboo has made it clear that his character does not have DID, but this headcanon about his character persists, and it persists in a way that is directly harmful to people with DID — and to people who dissociate or sleepwalk. We do not commit horrific acts while we dissociate, while we’re sleepwalking, because the majority of the time we’re just checked out, our body is on autopilot. Insinuating that we do is harmful. Insinuating that Ranboo has “another half” that’s inherently violent or evil is harmful to people with DID. I’m not going to ask you to stop writing these headcanons etc, but please consider the effect you have on people before you do.
7. Related to point 6: the perception of c!Ranboo as “soft” and “cute” and/or perfectly moral because of his canonical anxiety. This is really harmful, and comes once again from the infantilisation of disorders like anxiety and depression. Ranboo has made clear time and time again that his character isn’t moral, and in fact is extremely inconsistent. He’s portrayed his character as inconsistent, as someone who hurts his friends unintentionally and often due to his want to please everyone, and yet he’s constantly seen as “soft/pure/the only moral one” because of his anxiety causing to have repeated and consistent spirals on-screen. These spirals are not healthy. They don’t indicate his “perfect morals” or make him more moral than anyone else on the SMP. Please stop infantilising people with anxiety, it’s really hurtful.
8. Implying that c!Technoblade is inherently a violent person because of his voices. I’ll admit here: my hallucinations are visual. I do not get auditory hallucinations, and I cannot speak for people who do. But many people have spoken out about this, and discussed how talking about Technoblade as an inherently violent character because of his voices is harmful, and a stereotype of people with schizophrenia.
Technoblade’s character is, in and of itself, inherently a stereotype (despite the fact that his chat are more likely to be a supernatural entity than a symptom of a disorder such as schizophrenia) in that the idea of “hearing voices that encourage violence” is a stereotype of people with schizophrenia. As an actual symptom, is a very uncommon one. More common auditory hallucinations for people with schizophrenia or psychosis are, reportedly, whispers or unrelated conversation. One of my friends hears screaming.
But the issue is with the implication that c!Technoblade is “driven to violence” by the voices. Canonically, he has dealt with the “bloodlust” of chat by grinding withers. He’s perfectly capable of being peaceful, even with “voices pushing for violence”, and he’s perfectly capable of being violent without the “voices” influence. It’s the connotations and the history that fandom has in demonising and villainising c!Technoblade for even having the “voices” in the first place, and acting having them makes him inherently violent and unstable. There’s precedent for that already in society, and it’s not okay to perpetuate it.
[Edit: as of 22/05/2021, I do experience auditory hallucinations, and I can confirm that I am not any more violent, and the voices I hear don’t push me to violence. The clearest one just said ‘click’ in my ear.]
9. Jokes about brain damage and the use of “brainrot” as a term. I made a post about how common jokes about brain damage are here, and I would like to reiterate bits of it.
Jokes like these are really really normalized in modern society. I’m sure a lot of you didn’t even register it as wrong, and that isn’t a moral failing! It’s a norm in society, and that means the majority of people arent going to register it as something hurtful, because it’s said so often. But it does still hurt. The idea of using a disability as an insult is really harmful and it feels dehumanizing, like our disability makes us lesser, something that should be laughed at.
“Brainrot” as a term originated in Skyrim, as a disease that literally rotted your brain. However, as a term, it has very similar connotations to “brain damaged” and has been used in similarly joking and insulting ways. It’s something that feels really off to me and other neurodivergent people to see used by neurotypical people. It even sometimes feels uncomfortable when used by neurodivergent people, even if it’s used in positive ways. I know quite a few people who have removed it from their vocab completely because of the connotations, and I have personally done the same. Once again, I am just asking you to please consider your words before you use them.
10. Calling c!Wilbur during his Pogtopia Arc “Vilbur”. Yes, he was a villain. Yes, he hurt people. But c!Wilbur during the Pogtopia Arc only has one major difference from c!Wilbur during the L’Manburg Arc: a visible depiction of mental illness, specifically paranoia and psychosis. Treating him as a seperate person and calling that seperate person “Vilbur” comes across as extremely hurtful, and contributes to the villainisation of mentally ill people. His mental illness does not excuse him from hurting people, but calling c!Wilbur “Vilbur” upsets a lot of us, because wether or not it’s intended, it feels reductive, hurtful, and insulting.
If you got to the end of this post, thank you so much for reading. I hope that this helped you recognise things that you might not have known were ableist, and that you consider what I’ve said here. I also know that I haven’t addressed everything ableist that’s spread through the MCYT fandom community, so if you’re ND and have something you’d like to add, please feel free.

Thoughts on fandom: inclusion and engagement.
(Art credit to the kindhearted @penpanoply!)
There’s been some stuff floating around on Tumblr about strife in the CO/WS fandom, and though I haven’t been explicitly named-dropped on anything public, my DMs have been... active. lol Rather than rehash what’s been said already, I just want to impart a little wisdom and perspective in the hopes it may soothe frayed feelings and offer a way ahead for cultivating a respectful community. As someone who has been an active participant in online fandoms since the mid-’90s, which was the advent of online fandom content creation (shout out to my fellow X-Philes!), and who has also spent a chunk of her professional life managing social media for the federal government and for activist groups, I can promise you it’s all gonna be okay.
Here’s some context for why strife happens and what we can do to create a more inclusive and communicative fandom environment.
1) It sounds cliché, but fandoms go through growing pains.
In the case of the Simon Snow fandom, what was once a small and cozy space untouched by cataclysmic events (such as the release of *gasp* a sequel) has grown exponentially in a relatively short amount of time following the release of Wayward Son. Newcomers are eager to find a home in this space at the same time as folks who’ve been here a while may be consciously or unconsciously wary about widening their circle, and It’s important to remember that this is not necessarily an expression of bad behavior on either side but just human psychology doing its thing.
The byproduct, however, is that tension and stress builds over time from the lack of meaningful communication across the divide, which subsequently fuels misunderstandings. Ironically, the interfaces we use to communicate don’t help with this because any existing communication about the tension happens in tiny vacuums until a trigger goes off and bad feelings go public.
Way Ahead: These moments of destabilization are opportunities to see where we can be more self aware about how we engage with fandom and the kind of community we want to be. Can you promote, support, or befriend someone trying to gain a foothold? If yes, please do! Each person must reach their own decision about what they can do within the confines of their available energy, health, and time, but a little self awareness goes a long way as long as you’re honest with yourself and others if applicable about what you can contribute. Anyone who judges you for it isn’t worth the strife.
2) In a fandom comprised of vulnerable/marginalized people, it’s more accurate to say that cliques are “bubbles of trust.”
This one's important. Just by nature of the source material, the CO/WS fandom includes fans with a wide array of backgrounds and experiences, especially when it comes to those who identify with the characters’ queerness, mental illness, and/or trauma. I really believe––based on individual conversations/group chats––that the difficult lived experiences that so many of our fandom peers have endured has produced one of the most open, aware, and accepting fandoms I’ve had the pleasure of participating in. Our vulnerability is, in a real way, our strength.
That said, a community of survivors also has the side effect of cultivating small circles of engagement that I call “bubbles of trust.” When you’re a survivor of abuse, marginalization, mental illness, fill-in-the-blank, it’s often quite hard to risk casting a wide net and expanding your circle to include new faces––which can subsequently be internalized by equally sensitive and vulnerable newcomers as rejection, judgement, or inadequacy.
Way Ahead: First of all, there may indeed be gatekeeping and exclusion going on. But before internalizing someone’s cagey behavior as gatekeeping or purposely exclusionary, ask yourself if you have all the information. Many people are private (I include myself in this assessment) because life has regrettably taught them to be this way, and so they may insulate themselves to a small group of people who have earned their trust. Some people might also triggered by certain content (case in point: smut triggers my anxiety) so they don’t engage with it. Others might have something in their pasts that define how they handle certain subjects (for example, a person of color should not be tone policed for getting angry when confronted with a racialized microagression, however accidental it was). You just don’t know what you don’t know.
The solution here is to regularly check your privilege and ask questions in a private space if you sense you’re being treated unfairly by someone. If you go public with your grievances in hopes of mobilizing the mob, you may accidentally find yourself stepping into the role of the aggressor instead of the victim.
3) Social Media is not built to help you get engagement. It’s built to help itself make money off of you.
Repeat after me: Hits/likes are not a measurable indicator of talent or worth. There are ridiculously talented folks on Tumblr and elsewhere who, for whatever reason, haven’t had their viral moment, and it’s not their fault. Loads of factors come into play where things like likes, reblogs, and comments are concerned, among them being posting frequency, subject matter, the time of day, the day of the week, the week of the month, the month of the year, the current administration, the stock exchange, the concentration of middle class users, who just won the Superbowl, a madman trying to steal an election and undermine the democratic process, a PANDEMIC, do you get where I’m going with this?? lol
At the end of the day, my humble successes have been helped along by good luck, good timing, high profile signal boosters, and an absurd amount of work. (This is why I try to signal boost new work whenever I get a chance over at @vkelleyshares.)
So while you cannot control Tumblr’s interface, trends at large, or your fellow users, here’s what you can do to ensure you give your work the best possible chance of exposure.
Have an image ready to go with your post. Tumblr is a visual platform (no matter what it says about being good for text). Not good with images? Set up a Canva.com account and get access to free graphic software with a gazillion templates to create whatever attractive image you want to attach to your post.
Keep the outward facing text brief and easy on the eyes. Too long and eyes will glaze over. Put excess text behind a “read more.”
You may think you’re being cute when you do this, but don’t put yourself down in your posts. (Don’t put yourself down in general, of course.) Doing so acts as engagement repellant. If you don’t believe in your work, no one else will.
Related: Be your best cheerleader. Confidence is a magnet, and if you don’t have it, go ahead and fake it until you start to convince yourself you are worth the buzz. So promote yourself! You have gifts that only you can impart. Use that knowledge to fuel everything you do from your art/fiction writing to your outreach with other content creators, and by golly, if someone’s done it already, acknowledge that contribution and then tell the world that this is YOUR unique take on it.
Treat your fellow fandom creators as human beings, not art/fiction/content boosting machines. I cannot count how many times I’ve had folks slide into my DMs with offers of friendship only to disappear once they realize I’m not available to draw a picture for their fic. It hurts because it’s manipulative and it makes me want to hole up and not signal boost anyone. Creators who truly support each other will not give off a transactional vibe. I want to help you reach more people, but not if that’s all I’m good for in your eyes.
The long and short of it: Lead with compassion, do your best with the opportunities at your disposal, and remember that fandom belongs to everyone in it. ❤️
What saves a fandom made of sensitive and vulnerable souls from imploding when it goes through growing pains is radical compassion from those who can offer it. Begin with the assumption that your fellow fandomers are not trying to harm you, and wade into the water knowing that your insight into the lives of your peers is limited by default and you may need to temper your words or actions accordingly. If you’re a content creator, save compassion for yourself as well, as there are indeed challenges to gaining an audience, and lack of engagement does not mean you lack talent or skill. Be your best advocate, and if you have the bandwidth to lift up a fellow creator and make a new friend, please, go ahead do it!
And finally, fandom belongs to everyone, and no one has a monopoly on characters, tropes, or themes. Create and consume what you love (with respect for your more vulnerable peers), and bask in the variety, my friends!
That’s all I’ve got in my head at the moment, although I’m sure there’s more I’m forgetting. Thanks so much to @penpanoply for letting me use her art for this and to everyone else, hang in there and try not to judge each other too harshly. These are unprecedented times, and most of us are doing our best in circumstances that are pushing us to our limits.
As always, if you have questions or want to sound off on anything, shoot me a message or an ask, or ping me on Discord. It might take me a second to respond (thanks, Covid) but I’ll get to it! Love, love, and more love to all.

Are Prehospital Acts Of Kindness Losing Their Magic?
Paramedics are well known for compassion towards patients and most of us have gone out of our way to go above and beyond at some point. Everyone loves a story about the acts of kindness we get to provide in such a privileged position. Patients and their families talk about small gestures for decades, remembering how it made them feel at the time. First responders fondly recall those moments of adding value and feeling appreciated, too.
From cleaning an elderly patient’s bathroom so they don’t come home to a gastrointestinal mess, to ensuring the palliative patient’s final journey involves a detour that takes in one last sunset. Or getting an injured groom to the altar (albeit by stretcher) en route to the emergency department, to dropping a lonely pet somewhere safe after their human is hospitalised.
We do these things because we’re naturally inclined, because we enjoy the feeling it gives us and because we care. It may also simply be in everyone’s best interests in helping to get the job done. Just as reassuring words roll off the tongue, acts of assistance come to mind and make all the difference on scene.
The motivation behind it may purely be practical, like the lady who slipped and fractured both wrists while colouring her hair. My colleague and I rinsed out the dye and towel dried her locks, once analgesia and splints were organised. We all laughed together about the specialised salon service, but in reality, the only other option would have been a severely burnt scalp if we’d just let it be.
Perhaps it’s something sad that plucks at the heartstrings and makes it impossible to leave behind, like the damage caused by a collapsed husband in a beautifully tended garden. There was no way anyone on scene would have slept that night if we hadn’t cleared away broken pots, propped up squashed flowers and raked the soil flat before leaving. Any thought of his widow being confronted by the debris after losing her life partner was much easier to wipe from the mind after wiping it from reality.
More often than not, it’s merely a case of obvious need. Dropped groceries beginning to melt in the hot sun? Into the fridge before transport. A dog left home alone? Fill up the water and food bowls as we leave. Elderly patient back into bed, uninjured after a fall? A cup of cocoa while the paperwork is completed, so they settle safe and sound into slumber.
We feel the warm glow, they feel cared for, the paramedic profession remains valued as a whole and ambulance service bills are paid without protest.
Everyone wins.
But what happens when it becomes a commercialised craving for kudos?
Reality TV shows play a big part in educating the general public about prehospital care. Overall understanding of paramedic practice has improved enormously. An increasing number of patients now know that clinical competence comes included with the package, rather than balk at a cost comparison between ambulances and Ubers as a method of transport. Stoic stalwarts are becoming more likely to call when they suffer a STEMI, rather than putting it off until it’s too late. Bystanders are growing to relish the thought of CPR and saving a life now that the concept is less foreign and frightening. Kids are keener than ever to interact inside an ambulance that’s familiar to those they see in their lounge room daily.
Along with increased insight, however, comes expectation.
Patients rarely used to anticipate or even imagine private acts of kindness on top of professional clinical care. Suddenly switching up the scene to focus on helpful additions was (and still is, when unexpected) a handy trick in every paramedic’s toolkit.
That gravely ill patient, reluctant to be transported, may be more easily convinced when a chore that cannot wait is completed for them. A stressed and strung out mental health crisis may be alleviated purely by practical assistance, without need for clinical or pharmacological intervention. Those cups of tea and sandwiches that settle a diabetic hypo, or stave off starvation in young children with injured parents, can make or break a day.
But those memorable moments that first responders have been sharing with patients since the dawn of prehospital time are at risk of losing their magic.
So heavily publicised, all surprise is slipping away.
So widely promoted, evidence exists that expectations abound.
Questions now come up on scene about the kindest things we’ve ever done. Jokes and banter about when laundry will be folded, or how long until dinner become more commonplace. Smartphone footage of thoughtful gestures is uploaded to social media by patients and loved ones, like those “captured in the wild” scenes used to be in the early days of nature documentaries. Bystanders look for it, wait for it and hope for it, that moment of delight when the kindness card trumps the common clinical.
Ambulance services build public relations based on the goodwill of their frontline clinicians. A small number of paramedics photograph or film their acts of kindness, sharing them far and wide for the whole world to see. Online groups with casts of thousands exist to collaborate, confer and congratulate both givers and receivers on gestures that bring smiles during times of crisis.
The more attention we seek through reality shows, organisational PR driven social media platforms and self-promotion of good deeds done, the more attention we gain for doing so. Now that it’s becoming something to hope for or even expect, like an encore at the end of a magician’s stage show, we’re going to disappoint a whole lot of people by failing to meet their expectations.
Educate them to expect professionalism.
Encourage them to anticipate a high standard of patient care.
Enlighten them in understanding what clinical excellence looks like on scene.
But elevating their focus to automatically assume acts of kindness, generosity and compassion from healthcare providers through every long shift, with minimal or no breaks, in all weathers, trying circumstances, continually changing environments, in and out of moving vehicles, without security and creature comforts while under the pressure of KPIs, documentation demands, organisational protocols, regulatory guidelines and media scrutiny is unrealistic and unreasonable.
Not every patient expects, needs or deserves grand acts of kindness over and above compassionate, competent and professional prehospital care. But the more we publicise these acts, the more they become an expected part of the service and the less value they bring. Where does this leave us when we need or want to turn any patient’s terrible day into a slightly less painful memory?
Feel free to share your thoughts below or on social media, I’d love to hear from you, Tammie.

Mental Health and Isolation
Okay, guys. This is going to deal with emotions, depression, trauma, isolation, and Covid-19. If you feel that these issues will trigger you, I recommend skipping over this post.
With most of the world falling into lockdown officially or unofficially, I wanted to say a little something. Several things may happen to you during this period of your life, and I want you to know that you are not alone in them, specifically in regard to your reactions to isolation.
I’m going to put a cut, just because it’s going to be a really long post, but if you have the mental health capabilities and patience to read my words, I’d like to ask that you do.
Last year, I spent about six months in isolation due to personal health problems that prevented me from leaving my home. I left on occasion for visits to the doctor and the occasional run to the store, but otherwise, I was confined to my home - moreover, my bedroom - through my illness and recovery. In January, I’d started leaving the house again a bit, driving, making plans. However, with my weakened immune system, most of those plans were quickly postponed as news of Covid-19 swept the world. As of currently writing this post, I’ve spent almost nine months mostly in isolation. It seems the rest of the world is finally catching up to me, though, as people find themselves ordered to their homes or needing to stay home for personal health reasons.
Why am I telling you all this? Because in the time that I spent ill last year, I learned a lot about social isolation, and a few of those things I’d like to share with you. My hope is that it may help some of you cope with what you’re going through.
1) You may feel grief or a sense of injustice.
You’ve lost things this year and that’s disappointing. It’s okay to admit it. It’s easy to fall into a mental rut unsure of how to process the emotions you’re feeling. There are things that you missed, important things, that you have every right to be upset by. Perhaps it was a wedding, important birthday, graduation, prom, vacation, festival, or other event that you were excited for. Perhaps it’s something as simple as spending time with a loved one or seeing your friends at school or getting to experience something that you were excited for. Your feelings are valid. It’s okay to be upset that you have to miss those things. If you feel grief for the experiences you’ve lost, allow yourself to feel those emotions. It’s okay to be upset.
It’s easy to try to force yourself into believing your feelings aren’t valid. I mean, there are other things going on in the world right now that are painful. There are families losing loved ones, people suffering. However, using their pain as a reason to invalidate your pain will not help you feel better. Do not try to shame yourself into not being upset. It will just leave you muddled and in even worse pain because you’re piling negative emotions on top of the ones you’re already feeling. Allow yourself to feel whatever you’re feeling, be upset over the experiences and opportunities you’ve lost. Doing that will allow you to then focus on the things that you have left to gain and the good you are doing by helping those who can’t help themselves.
2) You may feel a sense of helplessness.
Things are out of your control. You can’t fix this all by yourself, it just isn’t possible. And as distressing as that is, it’s the truth. You may feel helpless or useless “stuck at home” while people are struggling.
However, what’s important to remember is that you’re doing what you can. Staying at home is helping people more than you realize. You can’t directly see the impact of the help you’re giving because you don’t even know who you’re helping, but it’s important to remember that you’re doing your best, helping as many people as you can (more than you know) by doing your part to stop more vulnerable communities from contracting Covid-19.
It may also be beneficial to think of small things you can do to help people. Perhaps you have a friend that’s homeschooling young children that you could send a link to the aquarium or an online book reading to. Or you could send an email to a loved one who may be struggling. While it’s important to slow the spread of the virus, allow your kindness to be contagious. Even just one act of kindness that you make in a day can transform the day for someone else.
3) You may experience symptoms of depression or hopelessness due to isolation.
Without a routine or the normal things that keep you motivated, it’s very possible that you will fall into a cycle of depression. Especially if things you were once excited for are now gone. It’s easy right now to look at the world and say “what’s the point in anything.” Being isolated can cause you to recede into yourself, block out the world.
I can’t personally tell you what will help you overcome this, but I will say that trying your best to practice self care at this time is important. Even if you don’t feel motivated to do much, try your best to do one or two simple things that will help keep you on track (maybe brushing your hair, washing your face, drinking a glass of water, etc.).
I understand things feel hopeless right now. There are terrible things going on in the world and the emotions that you’re feeling are a lot to cope with. However, there are things to hope for. While it isn’t always easy (or necessary) to find a silver lining everything, try to do a few things every day that may make you feel a little bit more regulated. Let the sun in your room. Take a shower. Even if you don’t feel good, try to practice caring for yourself as best as you can.
And understand that you aren’t a bad, selfish, or strange person for feeling depressed or hopeless. We don’t get to choose what we feel, but we can choose how we respond to those feelings.
4) You may relive traumas or experience trauma responses from past experiences.
Isolation gives you ample time to be alone with your mind. While this won’t cause issues for everyone, for people who have experienced painful situations or trauma, this can open up time for your mind and body to relive those experiences and remember ones you may have forgotten. This can be scary and distressing, especially if your usual coping mechanisms to your trauma include doing activities or distracting yourself with things you can no longer do. It’s important to understand that while these things did happen to you, they are not currently happening anymore. The things you are remembering from your past cannot harm you right now.
Having time to think about your traumas can bring trauma responses to the surface. You may feel guilt, shame, anxiety, responsibility, or any number of other trauma responses. However, it’s important to recognize that those feelings aren’t your own, they’re purely in response to trauma. It was not your fault; your brain is saying it is as a way to cope with the pain that you experienced. You did not deserve it. Try to focus on your own feelings about the issues you’ve faced, not the feelings created from people that did not care about your experiences or the feelings your own brain may be projecting as a coping mechanism.
What you’re feeling is valid and you are not alone. Being alone gives your brain time to wander, time to sift through things or focus on things it wouldn’t normally fixate on. Try to reach out to someone you trust, let someone know what you’re experiencing. If this happens, if you start remembering or reliving past traumas, please remember you are not at fault and you do not deserve the pain that you are going through.
5) You may realize things about yourself - emotionally, mentally, or physically - that you didn’t want to know.
As stated above, you will have ample time alone with your mind during social isolation. In addition to remembering trauma, it can also give your mind time to process trauma, dredge through you feelings, and evaluate your actions and experiences. This can provide clarity or understanding about past experiences and behaviors, but sometimes this isn’t always desired. You may feel thrown off guard by the information you’ve realized about yourself.
It can be very difficult to realize why you behave the way you do or what experiences you’ve faced that have traumatized you. However, try your best to allow yourself to think with clarity, understand the emotions you’re feeling, and what you can do to process it. These feelings may be difficult, but it doesn’t make you any less of a good person. It doesn’t mean your feelings aren’t valid. And it doesn’t mean that you don’t deserve kindness and compassion, both from others and from yourself. It isn’t easy to process pain, to sift through emotions, but if you are, then know you’re doing your best, and I’m proud of you for that. You should be proud of you for that.
---
Of course, I’m not an expert on psychology. I’m no doctor, and I certainly can’t tell you what you personally will experience or what responses to mental health struggles are best for you. The list above is in no way comprehensive or definitive, you may feel all of those things, some, or none, and I can’t guarantee that your feelings on the topics above will match the things I feel. However, I’m speaking from experience when I describe the things above. I grieved for the loss of my first year of university last fall; I felt helpless against my own health struggles; there were times I was so depressed I couldn’t function; I relived traumas and remembered experiences I was desperate to forget again; I learned so much about my mental health and what I needed to thrive. I know what it’s like if you’re going through any of the above mentioned things.
I see what you’re going through right now. I understand. You are not alone. And your feelings are valid. Do not be ashamed if you are overwhelmed or emotional. It’s important that you allow yourself to experience these feelings, to process what your brain is going through. Isolation isn’t meant to be easy. Being alone with your own mind isn’t always easy. And it’s completely valid to be struggling right now.
But you are not alone. If you’re struggling, reach out to a relative or a friend or another person that you may trust. If you feel you don’t have anyone, you have me. This blog is a safe space for you to come to if you need somewhere to be. You’re always welcome to talk to me, message me, if you need support from someone right now. I understand what you’re going through. You are not alone.

The craziest people I know (don’t go to therapy)
Therapy... I have an appointment today actually. I’ve been going for the last ten years. I first started seeing the school psychologist, going to my YFS center (youth and family services). I started going more regularly after my father died which was perfect since I would go during my lunch period. I had nobody to sit with at lunch so it was a perfect excuse to go. I began receiving outside counseling in eleventh or twelfth grade, once a week. At this point I was a minor so my mom paid. Now as an adult, I am thankful my mom brought me and paid because I see how inconvenient it can be and how it adds up. Even though most therapists accept insurance, some don’t. Even with insurance you can be paying 65$ up every time which is usually once or twice a week. That being said, I truly believe the best and most important thing we can invest in is ourselves and therapy is worth it. Therapy is being brought into the open which I’m very happy with but still, there is a stigma attached to counseling. The first thought most people have when they hear you are in therapy is “what’s wrong with them? Are they mentally unstable? Or, why do they need therapy?” People associate receiving help as something wrong with you or you can’t handle yourself. This is simply not true. The most mentally sane (or emotionally healthy people) are in therapy, receiving help for their issues. This is because they are open minded and willing to admit their flaws. They are ready to be proactive and willing to better themselves. I firmly believe everyone should be in therapy. Therapy isn’t just a useful tool where you receive an honest, outside opinion from a professional, but a time to be truthful with yourself, reflect, and gain useful insight. It’s immensely helpful in learning emotional intelligence and how to deal with feelings. Sometimes, when I suggest therapy to people, they say “I don’t need it, I’m not crazy” and to be completely honest, these are the people who need therapy the most. They are close minded, in denial and not willing or ready to deal with their shit. We all have things we should be willing to face, change and improve in ourselves. It’s not just people who have a diagnosable mental health disorder or went through a trauma that should go to therapy. I also hear therapy is “paying someone to be your friend”. This makes me sad because yes, like any other service, therapy is a business; but people who enter the human services, social work or psychology field are generally empathic people who truly care and want to help you. “If I go to a therapist, does that mean I'm crazy, weak or a failure? What will others think? What if I'm seen coming out of that kind of office? Such concerns are quite natural given our socio-cultural conditioning. Unfortunately, as a result, many people decide not to pursue counseling despite experiencing significant emotional, physical or mental distress. Let's clarify a few things. Most people who initiate counseling do not have a serious mental illness. They have serious life challenges or are going through difficult life-cycle transitions that may be taxing their current ability to cope. This, in turn, may be adversely affecting their well-being and ability to function as well as they would like. Examples of serious life challenges can be dealing with chronic work-related stressors; career issues; financial problems; health issues or a recent health diagnosis; family or parent/child conflict; cultural assimilation; and academic issues. Examples of difficult life-cycle related transitions can be the death of a family member or friend; the ending of a romantic relationship or close friendship; family/couple changes related to the addition of a child; getting married or divorced; care giving for loved ones due to illness or disability; and decision-making challenges related to these life choices. These are just some of the reasons why people decide to go to counseling. So, if you are going through one or more of these challenges at the same time, you're not alone. The effects are often cumulative, which is generally referred to as a 'pile-up' of stressors. Counseling during these times can be quite helpful in providing both the support and skills to better address these life challenges. Ultimately, it is an invaluable investment in your emotional, physical and mental health, an act of courage not weakness, and a gift to those whose lives you touch. But what if you’re not in a moment of “disaster relief?” Surprisingly, the best time to start therapy may be when your life’s going relatively well. Despite the fact that more than 59 million Americans seek the services of a mental health care professional each year, there’s a stigma that therapy is only for people suffering a debilitating mental illness or going through a massive interpersonal issue. The benefits of therapy extend far beyond periods of crisis. Many people want more than to be ‘not depressed.’ They wonder what they can do to be the happiest, most productive, most loving version of themselves. Because achieving your full potential requires a heck of a lot of self-knowledge, self-control, and—let’s be honest—hard work, it’s best done when you’re not in freak-out mode. What’s more, if there’s an issue in your life that’s causing you distress, it’s better to deal with it sooner than later. Over time, minor difficulties can bloom into disasters that have you hitting the tissue box hard. But the earlier you go to therapy and engage in introspection, the better off you are in the long run. The benefit of seeing a mental health professional is that it’s literally their job to reserve judgment and guide you toward what’s best for you. Whatever your decision, keep in mind that people’s resistance to your pursuit of mental health typically comes from their own fears: If you’re in therapy, it must mean they should be too. Or if you’re in therapy, you’ll change in a way that makes you less willing to be friends (or romantic partners) with them. Therapy simply allows it to happen with less trauma. While therapy can help remove the wool from your eyes, it won’t create problems where there were none to begin with. If you (rationally) determine you’re not in the right place—career-wise, romance-wise, or otherwise—congratulations! You’ve just identified a buried source of suffering. And by clarifying the origin(s) of your distress, you’re that much closer to living an authentically happy life. The most common types of therapy include cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, family, and group. Whether you’re looking for a quick(ish) fix to a bad habit, anxiety issue, or phobia, or you’re just interested in some serious soul-searching (“What’s my life’s purpose?” “Why do I keep doing ____ in romantic relationships?”) there’s a therapy that’s waiting for you. Therapy isn’t supposed to eradicate all sadness, anger, frustration, or other negative emotions (envy, embarrassment, self-doubt, etc.). And thank goodness! Because often those tough emotions serve as an internal cue—if you’re listening. That’s where therapy comes in. It’s there to help you learn how to sit with, accept, and not be debilitated by these feelings—all while cultivating self-awareness. The result? You’ll be able to tune in and make choices that make the most sense for you. Rather than achieving perpetual bliss, the end result of therapy is to confidently navigate your life off the proverbial couch.” Also there are many excuses people will make to avoid or get out of therapy. I don’t have the time or money is a big one. What’s more, there are many free or low-cost support options, from hot lines to help groups. Those interested can visit the National Alliance on Mental Illness’s website for more resources. You can also check with your health care insurer to find a professional in your network, or search for practitioners in your area online. Or, if you’re a student, contact your campus health center. “Keep in mind that it’s important to find a therapist you “click” with. Often, this can mean trying out a few different providers before settling on the one who feels right for you. Therapy isn’t just for moments of earth-shattering personal tragedies. It can also be useful in reorienting yourself toward your true wants and needs, training yourself in the art of self-compassion, and better understanding, respecting, and communicating your feelings. And—surprise—it’s often easier to pursue these goals when you’re not wrestling bigger, darker obstacles. So consider this your permission to give therapy a try, even if your life is going hunky-dory. Your future self may just look back and say, “Thanks!”

This is a rant about why the idea that “all people are a little autistic” is very harmful to the autism community ... with a lot of tangents.
In my life I’ve had two “best friends.” The first one dumped me for having low emotional intelligence, not being codependent, and being unable to read her mind. The second one, I had to get away from for shaming me about my abilities, choices and boundaries, adopting parts of my life as her own, and is an SJW online but behaves abusively toward her own child and tells people that breaking up with abusive people if unfair if they have a mental illness so just “love the abuser through it; they’re the real victim.”
My first best friend was actually my bully. I couldn’t see it. Let’s review,
“How can you get straight A’s but be so stupid?”
I recently read a book about body language. It gave me some incredible insights as to the motivations and feelings of others, but I’m no expert. I can tell you one thing though, the misunderstanding between Autistic people and non Autistic people goes both ways for me. It’s very difficult for me to understand why social hierarchy or appearances is a deciding factor in decision making. On the other hand, our special interests are often regarded as, “a cringy level of interest in something...” wow, you really have the mental energy to be disgusted with something that has nothing to do with you...? Did you know that there are people out there who want to make pineapple on pizza illegal? How can someone be so insecure that they want to control what other people eat on a pizza? How can someone be so insecure that they find a deep level of interest in spirituality or bus schedules or dinosaurs cringy? How can someone be so insecure that instead of building healthy relationships that are mutually beneficial, they instead use friends as people to push down in order to make themselves look “better”? It doesn’t make you look better; it makes you look like an insecure bully and an asshole.
All that aside, my second best friend was also my bully. She seemed to be of the belief that everyone is a little autistic, and she used this reasoning to shame me, saying things like, “but why can’t you just ... ?” or “Why did you ... ?”
Well, reality check. I spent the better part of my life not understanding abuse or knowing how to ask for what I needed. I recently read an article about how autistic women are incredibly prone to unwanted sexual violence because the autism community in general is treated, from birth, to accept things that are unwanted: To change our behaviors against our will. To tolerate abusive behaviors from others for our own good. To not believe our bodies regarding what we need. I could relate so hard. While my mother wasn’t an autism warrior parent, she was a pathological narcissist in denial of her own denial who became increasingly more abusive toward me each time a professional or family member tried to step in and advocate for my screening and assistance... and a father who is likely an undiagnosed autistic who couldn’t see that I was different because I’m so much like him... but it was my father who, later in my life, confirmed that they had more or less known all along and did nothing because they didn’t understand for their own reasons. Not everyone has the experience of finding out something really huge about themselves later in life that changes their life forever, but Final Fantasy characters often do, and this helped alleviate my feelings of loneliness and gave me a template for coping behavior when it happened to me. My mom threatened suicide when I was diagnosed, my dad came to accept himself, and I started promoting acceptance for Autism. If Final Fantasy has taught me one thing, it’s that fighting for what’s right matters more way more than what people think of you.
Revisit: How can you get straight A’s in school and be so stupid?
My mom was an average student but believes herself to be the most gifted person in the world. My mother found my abilities threatening to her own, and therefore refused to help me with anything. “Figure it out!” was all I ever heard, and this reinforced my difficulty in asking for help. Both of my parents lack emotional intelligence and therefore, were unable to model it. I was forbidden from receiving outside help, and therefore, never had the chance to learn. What this left me with was no map, no compass, and no guide. I ended up with friends who bullied me and shamed me for having no map, no compass, and no guide. A virtuous person would have acted as a guide, but:
How can you get straight A’s in school and be so stupid?
How can you get straight A’s in school but can’t figure out how to interview well or hold down a job or work full time?
How can you get straight A’s in school but not be able to maintain healthy relationships?
And the most hurtful of all: well, everyone’s a little autistic, so if I can do it then you can (should be able to) do it too.
At my age, there is nothing to do but accept life on life’s terms. I can’t go back and change how I was raised, but I can heal from the abuse and trauma and move on. I can’t change the fact that I have student loans that I haven’t been able to pay off but I can keep looking for opportunities that might pay a living wage at part time and help me get off assistance. If it hadn’t been for all the therapy, I still wouldn’t know how to do either of those things. People like to use functioning labels to describe autistic people but:
How can you get straight A’s and be so stupid?
I was homeless for most of my early 20′s. Living with family in my late 20′s and enduring further trauma, abuse, and shaming for who I am drove me to attempt to end my life. I lived in a group residential housing facility after that incident. After receiving an accurate diagnosis, I was granted disability income. I’ve been fired for lack of eye contact and poor social skills, but because of my appearance, EVERY ASSHOLE OUT THERE WANTS TO PUT ME IN A CUSTOMER SERVICE ROLE EVEN THOUGH I’M HIGHLY SKILLED WITH COMPUTERS. I didn’t develop independent living skills until the age of 28 and that was with very hard work and diligence.
How can you get straight A’s and be so stupid?
Because functioning labels aren’t fair and they’re not real. Because seeing me for a few hours every couple of weeks when I’m at a level of functioning that allows me to be social doesn’t paint the picture of what living with Autism every day is like. Because you might not be communicating directly enough for me to understand what it is you want and if you expect me to read your mind, that’s codependent behavior anyway so step off, asshole. Because sensory processing problems mean that I get sick when storms roll in, migraines from fluorescent lighting, and sometimes I can’t understand what’s being said to me while other times I can hear a whispered conversation in another room with someone on the phone perfectly. I can smell it when someone farts at the mall. Because hyperconnectivity in my brain means I need to sleep a lot more than other people in order to function at a basic level. Because I can only work part time. Because I was out of work for several years due to collapsing under a backlog of a lifetime of trauma, SPD problems, communication problems... you name it. Because I’m usually very shy out the gate but once I get to know someone, I don’t stop talking ... about what some assholes would call a cringy level of interest in Final Fantasy or Spirituality.
Because here’s the thing: we all have something to contribute and we all have different skill sets... and if you are so insecure that you can’t understand that other people are different from you or that (on a personal level) I’m doing my best in order to be functional so that I can spend time investing in a healthy and important relationship... that’s your problem, not mine. I already have enough on my plate doing my best to manage a neurological condition that affects my functioning from day to day, dealing with medications that work but make me gain weight, switching to other meds that have other side effects but don’t manage my SPD as well and CBD doesn’t work as well as the pharmaceuticals do. FUUUUUUUUU**********!
My boyfriend, Cowboy, said to me after we had been dating for a while, “Autism is something that people can’t understand until they see what it’s like from day to day.” We had known each other as friends for a while. When I went to cosplay events, I made sure that I was well rested and prepared. He never guessed that I struggled so much behind closed doors or in situations that I hadn’t had time to prepare any social scripts in advance for interacting with strangers. It is validating to be seen, and this is typically the responsibility of the parents... but I have one who only sees others as an extension of herself and another who doesn’t fully see himself, let alone others. Luckily, Cowboy sees people for who they are, as they are. I asked him, if you didn’t know I was autistic, would you still help me when I needed it? He’s never asked:
How can you teach yourself to code and still be so stupid? (Modern version)
He told me, “Of course I would help you. I don’t care if you’re autistic or not. I love you for who you are.”

More Targeted Harassment
How many of these have I done that even start out with how many of these blogs I have done to get stress related shit off my chest and trying to convey it a calm manner no matter how much the employed social media trolls try to fuck with my mental illness more with the litmus of rumors of me having a weapon, which I don’t, stalking women, which I don’t, beating up gay couples in public places, which I don’t. I normally just shrug it off like I have the last few days but then the same fucked up shit goes down with them making their presence known, first by moving my cursor as I type in my personal journal, which isn’t personal because the people in charge are watching everything I do and no one believes it because I am the mentally ill conspiracy theorist from the Howard Stern Show and after perpetuating that image constantly and then getting rid of me when they needed to, they still continue to harass me and because I am outspoken about political issues they try to censor me as much as possible. Even when I was a part of other shows on You Tube like I have written about the last several months, and the anger that exists that I am not coming back and them needing me and even endlessly reporting my Face Book videos, so I have less platforms to talk about stuff, and then sending people to my periscope to fuck with me so I complain while they seemingly do nothing.
I believe these people invite others into their discord or private groups so they are recorded and then blackmailed into loyalty for something. These are just theories, but I have contacted several media outlets to investigate the targeted harassment they do to me and countless of others, either way whoever is doing it is doing it at the behest of people with power who want to fuck with me and the more I type it out I can get comfortable with that but I know to most people who know nothing about this will just think some delusional fat man is in his mother’s basement just having another melt down that you will find amusing because people love train wrecks and then when something happens to that person, they will pat themselves on the back and tell themselves they are good people because they wrote something on twitter about suicide prevention and it is insulting from these people in the industry who will never disclose what helps cause this mental illness get more deeper and disturbing but because any conspiracy gets lumped in with Alex Jones and the right wing which is done by tactful purpose to get the message misconstrued. That is why I keep pointing out that nothing will be done until something actually physically happens to me even though I have put out countless tweets, blogs, videos etc and still no one will take it seriously. I just know these people will profit off it when this becomes official and then act like they gave a shit and then put out a bunch of numbers on social media and pretend they care but then are complicit with moguls who have helped cause this shit. I will always blame Stern. I believe because my name was mentioned and threw him off, he even got my credit card hacked because I found it hilarious that he gets nervous when my name is mentioned and he doesn’t acknowledge other shows that try to imitate his shows and this line right here got at their mind frame because when I typed it out they moved the cursor again. So much for staying off the internet because even when I do, they find ways to torture me more and make me become even more paranoid.
I guess it teaches me not to be vocal about Israel and how people are flipping out about North Korea and were silent about what happened in Gaza and basically these supposed liberals play the Trump game when he said “Both sides were horrible people” shit with neo Nazis and the protestors, but this time the democrats do that with Palestine and Israel. And I guess because these people, especially certain industry types have cliques of employed fan bases and a bunch of other burner accounts they use it to harass certain people and because I have angered a lot of people, they keep upping their game into fucking with me. I have to constantly claim that the rumors about me are not true, but then these same people on social platforms making threads about profiting off my likeness for T-shirts being made, which exist on Amazon through some group called Public Tees or some shit and they know I don’t have resources to track this stuff down.
I can’t go to my friends or family because sometimes I think they have been scared into saying anything. People I know would rather do business with Zionist like and shit on anything really progressive because they think being ignorantly contrarian is the way to go because we don’t have enough of that, which has been normalized in society for the longest fucking time. These same people will talk shit about me in their private group chats and then pretend like they are peaceful with me and have love for me but then dismiss anything about Israel or any other theory like there is something I hit on. I don’t ever trust anyone and I wish I was dead so I never have to see how horribly these people sell their souls. I could be wrong, maybe people have my back but it is seems like it is just me. These people rather have their organized orgies rather than stand up for right, all the people who used to be outspoken politically have sold out and limit their narratives about certain things because they don’t want to rock the boat but they still need to use me and after I take the brunt of the mental abuse from these people in the higher positions, they have all profited off it for their fucking gain and then get uncomfortable whenever I bring up a topic that really takes guts to address. They think acting a fool and being ignorant is the way to go and then call other contrarians who are standing up for good in this world. They don’t ever vocalize their problems with me, they will do that on private podcasts or some shit.
This will anger them and make them fuck with me even more. They have fucked with everything of mine and you pretentious twats who show compassion about mental illness constantly stay silent while people are being bullied into an oblivion, don’t use me for click bait and profit off my fucking name when this eventually exposes itself because if you stood back and said nothing while knowing what has transpired so you can get a pretentious industry cosign, never fucking talk to me again. I mean that shit. None of these people are edgy, because they have designed the PC left to seem like they are the enemies because the democrats are corporately tied to corruption, the corrupted right wing think tanks have their internet trolls act counter culture so the cycle of ignorance continues over and over. People always want to appeal to the cynical and because the right wing has taken over the counter culture aspect online, you automatically think this is the edgy take and it isn’t. That is why they hate me because I expose that these people who take joy in the ignorance love that their side is seen as the edgier side and the side that people want to cater towards.
So just take this as another wasteful blog that will make the Stern Show trolls to put this on their platforms and still continue to attack me and make it seem like it is me under a fake account doing it so I can get my name there in a lame sub reddit that barely breaks 10 quality posts a month and then when I am brought up it catches a little more traction and while it seems harmless but because people are employed to do this, in my opinion, I feel like I need to address it because these people are trying to get me to kill myself from the stress and when people from these other shows have said their goal was to make me kill myself and destroy me but then plays it off like he doesn’t want to do that, it is scary, especially when I have seen this person show and him putting out people’s numbers or acting like he is concerned with someone being held hostage who is doing another show, encourages his people to call the landlord of that place, or calls grieving mothers and does it under the guise of entertainment because everyone wants to do 90’s Stern Show shit. This is where we are at. Even a college kid who has connection to the show and is followed on twitter by Stern Show people like Benjy, Baba Booey or Jason Kaplan, is a part of that clique and pretends to be peaceful and doesn’t partake in this meanness and evil shit but still associates with them. He probably got a good connection into a fancy university or something because he is helping with that dirty work. He is another closeted miserable dude who instead of addressing his issues, decides to get the frustration off his chest by trolling others.
So these people hacked my phone when I was doing my periscope and made the camera blurry for some odd reason and it can’t be fixed but as soon as I blocked that corrupted account, suddenly my phone was malfunctioning and it will continue to because these people are sociopaths who hate me for not wanting to go back to their fucking show. I hope the worst shit happens to these people and anyone who was complicit in not exposing this and waiting for the most opportune time to make money off the story or on your podcast, you are fucking trash.

The Dangers of a Hoarding Disorder
Hoarding Cleanup in Lincoln NE: Compulsive hoarding, or a hoarding disorder, is a complex mental condition that causes affected individuals to experience fear and anxiety when they are faced with getting rid of personal belongings. This is true whether the items in question are valuable or not. Additionally, these individuals are often too embarrassed to seek assistance. This is why trusted family members and friends should intervene in a compassionate way.
The dangers associated with hoarding are plentiful, and it is important that individuals affected by hoarding tendencies understand the implications of their bad habits. The primary danger is that of a fire. This is because they are more likely to occur, but will also be more intense considering that the hoarded items will act as fuel for the flames. Likewise, when emergencies occur, there are less avenues of escape available because of blocked exits.
Tipping hazards are another concern, as individuals die every year by becoming trapped under fallen items. Lastly, the health of residents can be affected when allergens, bacteria, mold, and other unwanted elements gather beneath and within hoarded items.

In fact, LNK Hauling Junk & Moving is the most popular name among the residents here because of the timely, responsive, and high quality services that we offer.
More importantly, we are the preferred choice of cleanup agency for law enforcement departments, hospitals, offices, and so on. There is no full-service cleanup agency that can guarantee you the same level of impeccable, efficient and high quality services that we offer.
WHY HIRE A PROFESSIONAL AGENCY?
Before you call a professional agency for a cleanup, you should know whether you actually need them for your task. Of course, nobody wants to spend extra money when they don’t have to.
But, what you should also understand is that you do not want to end up compromising the safety, health, and security of yourself, and everyone you love, just because you wanted to save a few dollars.
But, how to differentiate between cleanups that you can do yourself, and the cleanups that requires a professional agency? There is no hard and fast rule to this. But, there are some things you can consider while making the decision.
Domestic consumers approach a professional cleanup agency like LNK Hauling Junk & Moving when they face an insurmountable amount of junk, debris, or filth. This usually happens when they have a loved one, who is a hoarder.
There are also cases when the junk has gotten out of hand over the years, even when the person is not a hoarder. Another biggest reason is when the homeowners want to locate the jewelry that is missing in all the junk that is filling their homes.
Here, you might be wondering that you yourself can clean all the junk by yourself. But, that is where you are gravely mistaken. It is not as much about your capability to clean them, as much about whether you actually should.
If you are engaging in a cleanup, then you should follow one golden rule – never cleanup what you don’t know. Now, if you only have every day filth like dust, debris and grime, then there is no problem in cleaning it up yourself. On the other hand, in case of clutter messes or hoarders, you don’t know what they have under all that junk.
Chances are that the years of hoarding waste have created a highly fertile breeding ground for a variety of pathogens. It could be something as simple as a discarded chicken leg, or a dead rat buried under all that pile of junk. Any attempt from your side to clean it up can result in you catching diseases that can even prove to be fatal. Too high a price for getting rid of some stuff!
This situation escalates dramatically in the case of even more serious in situations when there is crime or accidents involved. All that blood and body fluids from the people involved in the incidents tend to be teeming with a variety of bacteria, and viruses.
FDA classifies all the body fluids as biohazards. Even if you do not come in contact with them, they can continue to rot slowly and provide nourishment for various disease-causing germs. Simply put, you should keep away from such things. If you are exposed to those body fluids or infectious spots even by accident, you may end up catching a fatal disease.
We, on the other hand, come in specialized suits that protect us from such contaminants. We will use special equipment and cleaners, which will help us clean all the contamination without ever coming in contact with it.
WHAT MAKES US SO SPECIAL?
It doesn’t take a genius to claim that we are the best. Everybody, and every business claims that they are the best at what they do.
But, only when the time has come to prove their mettle, do they end up showing their true colors to you. But, by then you will have already hired them and as a result, you have no choice but to suffer substandard quality of work.
Therefore, before choosing a professional cleaning agency, look for the following signs. LNK Hauling Junk & Moving has built a strong reputation in the clutter cleaning business by following these codes of conduct to the T.
When you require a professional cleanup, chances are that you are in quite a desperate condition. Whether you want to help a friend’s hoarding problem, wish to cleanup a crime scene after the police are done with their inspection, or some other requirement, you want to get rid of all that filth as early as possible. A good cleanup agency like us understands your problem, and will respond immediately. They won’t make you wait, knowing that your dire need. As soon as you call us, we will send a technician to conduct an inspection and offer you a quote for the cleanup.
Never Leave Anything
A good cleanup agency never leaves anything behind. They will cleanup everything that needs to be cleaned, unless it is illegal. They will clean your property, irrespective of the size, shape or condition in which they are. Except for hazardous substances like fertilizers, dangerous chemicals, or something like that, we will free your place from all contamination.
Specialized Equipment
The junk removal agency should have all the right equipment, masks, and tools to handle any type of cleanup project. If they do not have the right equipment to get rid of filth, blood, or something else from the deepest corners of the structure, then you will have paid for a shabby work.
LNK Hauling Junk & Moving professionals always carry all types of equipment, both heavy duty and specialized gear, required to cleanup any type of junk.
Papers
A professional and reliable agency always has the right documents, required for running their businesses. All of LNK Hauling Junk & Moving’s professionals are insured and bonded. We would be happy to show you the relevant documents if you wish to have a look at them. Further, we also have all the permits and licenses, federal, state and local.
Responsible Disposal
A responsible junk removal agency should be well-versed in getting rid of all of the waste effectively. All the things that can be recycled should be sent to the various recycling plants. Similarly, hazardous substances too should be disposed of in a responsible and professional manner and private documents should be paper shredded.
LNK Hauling Junk & Moving is always happy to share the details of all the disposal with our customers. We dispose of any non-hazardous substances in a completely environmentally friendly manner. On an average, about half of the junk that we take out will be sent to landfills.
Competitive Prices
LNK Hauling Junk & Moving is one of the premium cleanup agencies in the San Francisco area. But, you will find that our prices are never going to make a dent in your pocket. They will always be affordable, and competitive in the industry. That is what you should look for. Do not fall for the oldest trap in the book – higher prices do not always mean better prices.
Listening Ear
Most cleanup agencies just want to move from one client to another. They just want to finish up as many tasks in as little time as possible. A good cleanup agency, on the other hand, gives you a listening ear with empathy. They will understand all your requirements thoroughly. They place quality over quantity.
As a result, they get the job done perfectly. If you want us to salvage something, find our lost jewelry in all the junk, or have some other specific requirement, we will make sure that we meet all your needs thoroughly. We believe that the hallmark of quality service is perfection.
Flexibility
When you are dealing with other cleanup agencies, you usually get a deadline on how early the work will be done. If the project is big, they might even take as much as 3-4 days to complete it. We, on the other hand, are very flexible with regards to your requirement.
When our technicians inspect your property, they will give you an estimate of how much time it usually takes for completion. However, if you have an urgent cleaning requirement, then we will assign more people and equipment for your task, and finish it in a much faster manner.
So, you give a time deadline, and we will finish the project within it. That is how much flexibility we provide our customers.
HOW DOES ALL OF THIS WORK? We have developed a proven process to ensure that the entire cleanup process makes everyone involved happy. Thanks to this process, all the junk is properly disposed of, all our customers’ requirements are met easily, and we get permanent customers for life.
Here is how this 4-step process works.
Step 1: Listening
When the customer first gets in touch with us, we patiently listen to all their requirements. We fully understand the problem at hand so that there is no confusion left. If they are some problems that require the attention of the entire family such as hoarding cleanup, crime scene, blood or suicide cleanup, and so on, we work closely with everyone involved before we proceed with the cleanup.
Step 2: Planning
This is the phase when we sit with everyone involved to chalk up a cleaning plan. This plan not only includes taking away all the junk, hazardous substances, and filth, but also restoring the property to its clean state. We also get information on the things that need to be salvaged such as jewelry, souvenirs, important documents, and so on. Based on the project, and the information you shared, we will create a plan for disposing of all the junk and waste that is lying around at the place.
Apart from creating an effective plan, we also help our clients deal with the law enforcement agencies and insurance agencies, if required. Junk removal is usually covered in property insurance, although it may not always be explicitly mentioned. In fact, if you wish, we can deal with the insurance company directly for your convenience.
Step 3: Cleaning
This is the phase when all the cleaning takes place. We use everything from heavy duty vacuum cleaner to industrial strength cleaners to provide you a speckles building. The disposable junk is disposed of in an environmentally friendly way. Recyclable items are sent to recycling units.
And non-hazardous waste is sent to landfills, depending on whether it qualifies for the landfills. We are careful to make sure that even the smallest of items that need to be salvaged are found. We will do our best to find your lost items too, if they are in the junk.
Step 4: Post-cleanup follow-up
For families which are dealing with hoarding, accidents, crimes, or other difficult and traumatic times, we will create a follow-up plan for them on how to maintain cleanliness in the place. After providing a homeless cleanup, we would be happy to share tips on how to prevent squatters and homeless from making your property their temporary homes.
In a nutshell, there is no cleanup project that we do not do. Everything from the most difficult projects like hospital or jail cleanups to the smallest ones, we provide our services to everyone. If you have been living in San Francisco, you will have noticed our trucks on the road at least once a day. We always have multiple teams in the field, and therefore, are able to tend to every customer’s needs in a jiffy.
As a highly responsive and responsible agency, we pride in our ability to deliver quick, and thorough services. If you want the best cleanup that a professional agency can provide, get in touch with us right now. Do not hesitate.
HOW MUCH DO HOARDER CLEANINGS COST? Hoarder cleanings are unique in that there are so many different elements involved in them. Many times, what some people consider hoarding is actually clutter and disorganization. Homes affected by hoarding are normally labeled as having lost some, most, or all use of functionality of its rooms.
Because of the factors involved, the costs of hoarding cleanup services vary greatly. Some people choose to hire day laborers and pay them about $10 per hour until the job is complete. However, the worker’s backgrounds are not checked, personal protective equipment (PPE) is not supplied (and many times not used), the workers have little to no training, the workers are not licensed, bonded, or insured, and the job could do additional damage to the person suffering from the hoarding disorder. Additionally, if a hired hand is injured on the job, a lawsuit could be filed against the homeowner.
COST OF HOARDER CLEANUP
Some of the factors that are involved in the price of hoarding cleanup is the presence of biohazardous material. Biohazardous material can be defined as infectious agents or hazardous biological materials that present a risk or potential risk to the health of humans, animals or the environment. Most biohazard cleaning companies offering hoarder cleaning, but not all hoarding environments containg biohazardous material. Biohazard cleanup is extremely specialized and requires a high degree of training, specialized knowledge, and specialized equipment. Many biohazard cleaning companies charge between $200 – $300 per employee hour plus costs (PPE, disposal fees, mileage, per-diems) while remediating the biohazard threat. Because of the specialization of these services, hoarding jobs containing biohazardous materials cost significantly more than hoarding environments without biohazards present.
Another factor that can greatly increase the price of hoarding jobs is the presence of hazardous materials. Similar to biohazardous material, hazardous materials pose a risk to individuals and the environment. A company that specializes in dealing with hazardous materials must be hired to remove them and this type of service is extremely expensive. Hazmat companies can charge $200 – $400 per employee hour plus costs while working in a hazardous material environment. Biohazardous Material Cost of Hoarding Jobs
The simplest of hoarding jobs are limited to a trashout, or a removal of all items from a room or house. Trashouts are generally faster and cheaper than an entire hoarding cleanout. As long as PPE is worn and OSHA guidelines are followed, trashouts can cost as little as $35 per employee hour plus the cost associated with the job (PPE, trash containers, disposal fees, mileage, per-diems, etc).
Working with an individual that has a hoarding disorder can be challenging and time consuming, as making and sticking to decisions is tough for them. If many of the items in the home need to be examined prior to throwing them out, the pace of the work slows down significantly and therefore the cost rises. Also, as the person with the hoarding disorder makes more and more quick decisions, they tend to become overwhelmed, and sometimes cannot continue until the following day. Out-of-town companies typically charge per-diems, as they are required to pay per-diems to their employees. Per-diems are allowances for food and lodging for employees when working outside of a certain range from the company’s office. Most companies will charge as little as $35 per employee hour plus costs. So, out-of-town companies tend to cost more on jobs that take longer than local companies.
Roll Off Container Cost Of Hoarder Cleaning
Container costs must also be considered when cleaning a hoarder’s house. There are many roll off container dumpster companies and each one has different pricing models. Many companies have 10, 20, and 30 cubic yard roll off containers, and each container has a weight limit. If the weight limits are not observed, the price of the containers increases. The prices of the containers can range from about $175 to over $450, depending on the contents of the containers and the length of time they will be used.
Many people assume that the cost of actually cleaning the home is included in the price of the trashout. Some companies will include the cleaning costs, while some will offer a line-itemed cost. Once the debris has been removed and the biohazard threat has been eliminated, the cleaning process can begin. Cleanings costs for hoarding environments can range from $.75 per square foot to $2 per square foot, depending on the amount and severity of cleaning involved.
When getting a quote for cleaning a hoarder’s house, consider the above factors. The lower the threat to an individual’s safety, the lower the cost of the job. Also, local companies /hoarder-cleaning-columbia-sc tend to cost less than out-of-town companies because their cost of doing business tends to be lower. The presence of hazardous and biohazardous material will significantly increase the cost of the job, and factors such as the number of roll off containers used and the detailed interior cleaning will affect the cost of the job, which in turn will affect the price. In short, hoarding cleanings can cost anywhere from $35 per employee hour to $80 per employee hour plus the costs invovled with the job.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO BE ON HOARDERS?
The average cost runs between $5,000 and $10,000. “That may sound expensive, but it’s really not,” he said. “There are hundreds of rules you have to follow to dispose of everything. It’s a highly regulated job now, which is why it’s so important to have one large company to keep up with those laws.”
COSTS OF A HOARDING CLEANUP
Hoarding cleanup costs can vary widely depending on what the customer wants, how much cleanup is needed, what type of items or materials need to be cleaned up and how long the process will take.
Hoarding Cleanup Cost: Most people who start the search for hoarding cleanup companies may find that junk haulers or crime scene cleanup companies do hoarding cleaning services but they would do a disfavor by hiring one of those companies as they won’t care for the hoarder as much as a company like LNK Hauling Junk & Moving who hires specialized staff who deal with hoarders and care about the emotional aspect of the cleanup.
The typical cost can vary from a few thousand dollars to tens of thousands and depends on if there is feces or bodily fluids in the home. How high is the clutter? Do they have animals? Often times the hoarder will have a pet or two and the animals will urinate in the home and with cats the urine will contaminate and potential harm the hoarders health. These are a few factors which can drastically change the price of a hoarding cleanup.
A typical home which is filled fairly high could be $10,000 or a small apartment could be $1,500 which would widely depend on that person’s situation. Any company that promotes or does over the phone estimates can not accurately price a home and you should question a company that would do that. Now it’s not to say they can provide a price range to give you an approximate hoarding cleanup cost but when given an exact price it should be done in person. Some exceptions can be by sending in pictures of the home to obtain a price for the cleanup. This can be done in certain cases because a close estimate can be created by images of your home.
Make sure that the company you hire has good reviews from past customers. Also, read the reviews of a hoarding cleanup company before hiring one. The BBB has a rating which should be checked out as well. Costs vary for hoarding cleanup for a reason, the insurance to protect the workers and the training involved are two reasons which could drive the cost higher. Training a person to understand how the hoarder thinks and to understand a situation is important. Junk haulers could be very detrimental to a hoarding cleanup because they don’t take the emotions or feelings of the hoarder into consideration as well as treat the items with care because the purpose is to throw everything away.
Another major aspect that most people over look is the after clean out. When removing all the items, a true hoarding company will spot clean the home and provide air filtration units to make sure the air is breathable and the environment is healthy for the hoarder to live in after a clean out. The cost of this should be included in your estimate and is another reason for a higher cost over a junk removal company.
These are a few things that have an affect on the cost of a hoarding cleanup project, most projects are unique and each project for LNK Hauling Junk & Moving is taken seriously. The company tries to find a specialist who will match with the hoarder and help them along in the cleanup process.
For more information on hoarding cleanup costs, please call us to find out more about the hoarding cleanup services we offer or visit us at LNK Hauling Junk & Moving.
HOARDING CLEANUP COSTS, AND WHAT IS INVOLVED
LNK HAULING JUNK & MOVING is Lincoln’s leading hoarding remediation service. We work closely with the Lincoln Hoarding Coalition and the Lincoln Mental Health Association to provide a complete service to those in need.
When dealing with a hoarding clean-up situation, the costs can vary dramatically based on the customer’s needs as well as the size of the job at hand. Also the types of materials, items, and risks involved as well as the length of time the cleaning process will take plays a very important role in the determining of the costs.
Many clients who begin the process of looking for help with Hoarding cleaning may find that junk removal companies and crime cleaning services offer hoarding Cleanups. The problem with dealing with these companies is there is an emotional aspect of the cleaning as well as the training involved with dealing the psychological portion of the issues will not be addressed. LNK HAULING JUNK & MOVING are specialized and trained to deal with hoarders and truly care about their well-being.
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT HOARDING CLEANING COSTS
The general cost of a clean-up service can vary from a few thousand dollars to tens of thousands depending on if there are bodily fluids, fecal matter and other bio-hazards in the residence. How high the clutter is piled? Are there animals or pets in the home that need veterinary care? In many cases the occupant of the home will have several pets that are urinating in the home and the urine will contaminate the home and be doing harm to the hoarder’s health. If mould removal is required this will also affect the overall cost. These are some the many factors which can change the price of the cleaning.
A typical home in Lincoln, which is fairly full and stacked fairly high could range in the 10 to 15,000 dollar range or an apartment could be in the 2000-3000 dollar range. This would depend on the individual situation. Any company that estimates over the phone cannot accurately quote this type of job and should be questioned. It’s not to say that we can’t provide price ranges and give an approximation, but to be given exact pricing needs to be done in person after viewing the property and doing a complete consultation. LNK HAULING JUNK & MOVING provides a free consultation for all hoarding clean-up services. Please Note.. If you send us images of the home, we can get a better idea of what the situation is and will help us accurately quote you on the cleaning and restoration of the home.
Lincoln hoarding
BREAKDOWN OF THE COSTS
The costs of a hoarding cleanup are not inexpensive for a reason, the insurance involved to protect the technicians and workers as well as the training involved are 2 factors that go into the cost. The professional training of workers to comprehend how the hoarder things and reasons a situation as well as their insecurities are extremely vital to a successful outcome. Junk removal companies can be detrimental to the hoarding clean-up because they are not trained in the emotional or psychological aspects and therefore the feelings of the hoarder are not taken into consideration. Also the treatment of their items are not taken with care as their purpose is simply to throw everything away.
Once the removal of the items have been done, the next step is the cleaning and sanitation of the home is the next stage. A quality hoarding service like LNK HAULING JUNK & MOVING will provide proper air filtration units to ensure the air is clean and breathable. Normally the home is cleaned from top to bottom, carpets are steam cleaned, odour control units are used to neutralize bad smells. Appliances are cleaned and sanitized, refrigerators are usually emptied and cleaned. Duct Cleaning is often recommended as well.
These are all things to be included in your estimate and is a reason why the costs will be a bit higher that a simple junk removal company.

Domestic consumers approach a professional cleanup agency like ABQ Hauling Junk & Moving when they face an insurmountable amount of junk, debris, or filth.
ABQ Hauling Junk & Moving has built a strong reputation in the clutter cleaning business by following these codes of conduct to the T.
ABQ Hauling Junk & Moving professionals always carry all types of equipment, both heavy duty and specialized gear, required to cleanup any type of junk.
Papers
A professional and reliable agency always has the right documents, required for running their businesses. All of ABQ Hauling Junk & Moving’s professionals are insured and bonded.
ABQ Hauling Junk & Moving is always happy to share the details of all the disposal with our customers. We dispose of any non-hazardous substances in a completely environmentally friendly manner. On an average, about half of the junk that we take out will be sent to landfills.
Competitive Prices
ABQ Hauling Junk & Moving is one of the premium cleanup agencies in the San Francisco area.
Hazmat companies can charge $200 – $400 per employee hour plus costs while working in a hazardous material environment.Biohazardous Material Cost of Hoarding Jobs

Hoarding Cleanup Cost: Most people who start the search for hoarding cleanup companies may find that junk haulers or crime scene cleanup companies do hoarding cleaning services but they would do a disfavor by hiring one of those companies as they won’t care for the hoarder as much as a company like ABQ Hauling Junk & Moving who hires specialized staff who deal with hoarders and care about the emotional aspect of the cleanup.
These are a few things that have an affect on the cost of a hoarding cleanup project, most projects are unique and each project for ABQ Hauling Junk & Moving is taken seriously. The company tries to find a specialist who will match with the hoarder and help them along in the cleanup process.

HOARDING CLEANUP COSTS, AND WHAT IS INVOLVED
ABQ HAULING JUNK & MOVING is Albuquerque’s leading hoarding remediation service. We work closely with the Albuquerque Hoarding Coalition and the Albuquerque Mental Health Association to provide a complete service to those in need.
ABQ HAULING JUNK & MOVING are specialized and trained to deal with hoarders and truly care about their well-being.
A typical home in Albuquerque, which is fairly full and stacked fairly high could range in the 10 to 15,000 dollar range or an apartment could be in the 2000-3000 dollar range. This would depend on the individual situation. Any company that estimates over the phone cannot accurately quote this type of job and should be questioned. It’s not to say that we can’t provide price ranges and give an approximation, but to be given exact pricing needs to be done in person after viewing the property and doing a complete consultation. ABQ HAULING JUNK & MOVING provides a free consultation for all hoarding clean-up services. Please Note.. If you send us images of the home, we can get a better idea of what the situation is and will help us accurately quote you on the cleaning and restoration of the home.

A quality hoarding service like ABQ HAULING JUNK & MOVING will provide proper air filtration units to ensure the air is clean and breathable.

How long does hoarding clean up take?
Every hoarding situation is different. Although most take a day to clean up , some take as much as a week. Hoarding Cleanup is divided into two ways:

6. Third-eye chakra (Ajna)
The third-eye chakra is located in the middle of the eyebrows, in the center of the forehead.
Signs the third-eye chakra is out of balance include:
Headaches
Blurred vision and eye strain
Sinus issues
Moodiness and stubbornness
If it's in balance, you'll feel focused and determined but also open to receiving advice from others. Suspect a blockage? Here are four ways to bring your third-eye chakra back into balance.
epicenter of intuition and psychic ability.
Clairvoyance may be one result of a developed third eye, but this energy center is responsible for so much more than predicting future phenomena. When we open the third eye, we become aware of the big picture. This ability to see EVERYTHING shifts our perspective, so we can see our own blind spots and understand ourselves in the context of the collective. But in order to use the third eye to see through time and space, we first have to use it to see ourselves!
The connection between the third eye chakra and the pituitary gland.
In my private practice, I use the Seven Senses framework to explore the spiritual aspects of health through the lens of the seven chakras. Each chakra is associated with physical structures in the body, so every illness or ailment can be traced to a corresponding chakra for a deeper understanding of the energetic origins of the disease. In other words, the chakras help us understand why illness develops and what we can learn from it. The physical structure most closely related to the third eye chakra is the pituitary gland—the queen of the endocrine system. Headaches, hormone imbalances, nightmares, indecision, burnout, and lack of purpose are all common manifestations when there's an imbalance in the third eye.
The pituitary provides oversight for many of the glands of the endocrine system, including the adrenals, thyroid, ovaries, and testes. Just as the third eye allows us to see the entire picture, the pituitary gland provides oversight for the endocrine system. It produces stimulating hormones that trigger distant glands in the body to perform their jobs, and its responsibilities change during different phases of life. For example, when you're a new mom, the stimulation of the mammary glands is uniquely important.
The pituitary gland's ability to adjust function to meet the needs of the body at every stage of life parallels the third eye's capacity to see how one's sense of self is dynamic.

A note on third eye chakra development.
Just as the pituitary gland monitors and manages hormonal release from glands throughout the body, the third eye has the ability to regulate the flow of energy throughout the entire subtle body.
The third eye chakra provides the oversight and wisdom necessary to understand existence beyond time and space. It can see past the duality and shortsightedness of the Western mind and provide an awareness that allows us to see who we really are: spiritual beings having a human experience.
An open third eye sees life as the stage it is.
Embodying the third eye's expansive energy requires the maturity, life experience, and wisdom that we gain with age. The chakra is thought to reach peak development from ages 35 to 42. It builds upon the developmental path that begins with the root chakra, where we experience the conflict between attachment and authenticity. At around 7 years old, we move into the sacral chakra, the home of feelings and emotions. The next stop on this developmental path is the solar plexus, where we confront our judgments and limiting beliefs. Only then can we generate the courage to open the heart chakra, the key to giving and receiving love and compassion. With a healthy foundation in the lower four chakras, we can cultivate and communicate our authentic truth through the throat chakra.
The spiritual awareness that comes through the development of the sixth chakra can be overwhelming for those who have not built a healthy foundation in the lower five chakras. Once we have worked our way through those, the third eye begins to open. An inner knowing begins to rise, and we can clearly see ourselves. We see that "I am" is a moving target. We are not our fears or our emotions, our beliefs, or our judgments. An open third eye sees life as the stage it is.
Practices that support the opening of the third eye chakra.
To open the third eye is to see ourselves fully—to see all of the ways that we play the victim, all of the ways we project our judgments, insecurities, and assumptions onto others. Someone with an open third eye is also aware of all the roles they play in the world. Perhaps you are not the same person with your lover as you are with your mother. Perhaps your behavior in some of your relationships is a response to other people's assumptions about who you are or the things they project onto you. An open third eye sees all of this, and it leaves us no choice but to move past the illusions that define our existence.
As the third eye opens wider, the house of cards falls to pieces and you wake up to a new spiritual reality. This is what the great mystics and seers throughout history understood, and the experience is available to all of us. However, this awakening challenges our sense of identity, and hence, the process warrants caution. Here are some practices to help you ease into it.
Physical: Pituitary gland series.
This Kundalini kriya is a great practice for the third eye. The complete set takes about 30 minutes, and detailed instructions can be found in The Aquarian Teacher, level one textbook by Yogi Bhajan or online.
Mental: Identity journaling practice.
Consider yourself as you are today and write a list of sentences that begin with "I am …" Write down as many things as you can think of that feel true right now. For example, "I am a writer, I am a sister, I am a wife, I am happy, I am beautiful, I am lonely, etc."
Then imagine yourself 10 years ago, and create a similar list for yourself at that time.
Choose another one or two time periods in your life and do the same thing.
Notice the differences in these lists, and reflect on how your sense of self has changed.
Emotional: Teach yourself to act through your emotions.
Acting is a great tool to access a wide range of emotional experiences, and those experiences affect our behaviors and sense of self. In this exercise, use your memory to elicit emotions. Focus on a funny memory and make yourself laugh. Force the laughter until it becomes natural. Focus on a sad memory and make yourself cry. Focus on a situation that infuriates you, and scream words of anger into a pillow. Exaggerate the emotions as an actor does, but don't sit with any one of them for too long. Remind yourself that no single emotion defines you
Spiritual: Keep a dream journal.
The third eye is naturally active in the dream state. The more you remember your dreams, the more connected you become to the unconscious—where all of your blind spots live. Spend 10 minutes every morning writing down everything you remember about your dreams. If you cannot remember anything at all, spend the time in meditation, clearing your mind before turning on any electronic devices or auditory stimuli. Eventually, you will remember!
