The origins!

The first post I want to publish is about the origins of this amazing PDIA journey!

First, I want to share a  little about my feelings coming into the course. 

When I decided to apply for the Program, I wasn´t sure I will get accepted! With all the complicated crises around the globe, I thought my country’s problems weren’t that hard to solve or -even- that important.

Happily, I was totally mistaken. Once I arrived in Boston and interact with each one of this amazing group of people I realized I was in the right place. I couldn´t believe we share almost the same problems no matter where we live! Actually, the first photo in my blog shows each one of my new IPP family.

There is another photo, I hope the IPP family remember the moment!

PART I Dialogue for transformation

A week ago, I participated to an event organised by the DialogiAkatemia and was amazed about the conducive atmosphere for learning we, the handful of people who attended, created applying principles of dialogue.

Dialogue = a radically polyphonic discussion which utilises each participant’s unique experience

After two hours of discussion I went home full of enthusiasm. It was like we had been able to create a little bubble with hope, hope for the solution. The event was one of many organised that day (Monday 28.1.) following the SITRA’s ”timeout”(erätauko) concept. We had gathered to discuss about climate change, and why we, as citizens and individuals, do not do more to address the climate crisis. Are we perhaps too selfish to change our habits, or does the environment we live in, context and pattern of our lives, socio-political realities, prevent us to do more? Perhaps the blockage is in the institutions we operate in, institutions that have a collective culture to do things together, and maybe that culture is not helping to address the climate change? Perhaps we just think we know what is right and what should be done, but we are not actually doing what we believe in. Why?

The discussion first circled around the topic of guilt; and how when talking about climate change, we often feel guilt, or on the other hand how we are afraid to talk about climate change with others at all, because we think it could make other people to feel guilty. How advocating for change in individual choices, is indeed a very tall order, because it puts people in different parts of a yardstick, those who do well and those who do not do well. Those who eat meat and those who don’t, those who fly and those who don’t, those who drive a car to work and those who use a public transport, those who avoid plastics, those who recycle plastics and those who throw all of their waste to a general waste bin, those who have a bicycle….You know what I mean, the list can go on and on and on…

So, is measuring my individual carbon footprint making me aware on how I should change my life, or is it just making me guiltier and more reluctant to do anything to change the way I consume and move from place to place?  

Talking about your carbon footprint is not maybe the most interesting topic on a family dinner, or in a night out with friends and colleagues. Not at least if the group engaged in the conversation is not working on the topic of climate change mitigation, or adaptation, or mobilization to get others engaged, or climate resilience or climate solutions, or carbon neutral future….or any variant of these.

In fact, I myself might just be in a small bubble of same minded to whom knowing your own carbon footprint might be of any interest. There are so many more people in the world to whom acting to tackle the climate change is just not an issue, to whom climate change is nothing that they are concerned about....and it does not mean that they have not felt its impacts….

Going even further, there is a group of hard-core climate dissidents. Spreading the information on melting glaciers to this group can be even counterproductive. In this group information on global warming gets simply disregarded, not because they do not understand the facts, but because these particular facts are against their worldview, their values, identity, their shared institution. Which ultimately means that these hard-core dissidents are not just indifferent about man-made global warming, but they want to find an alternative explanation and tell it to the world, they are ready to fight against the change for more carbon neutral future.

TESTIMONIO 4 FUNA A MI EX, HIAN MARCEL SOTO SALINAS

Bueno tuve una relacion con hian marcel soto salinas de 8 meses, de Diciembre 2018 hasta agosto 2019. El motivo del termino fue por la violencia que ejercia hacia mi, durante toda la relacion fue un tipo super celoso, psicopata y muuuuy manupulador. y el termino fue porque el ya me agredio en 3 ocaciones fisicamente, una en la casa donde nosotros conviviamos, tengo una demanda  hacia el por amenazas. siempre el se ponia violento he iriente conmigo cuando yo le decia que ya no queria estar mas con el, entonces le dije,y cuento corto, el estaba tomando me arrojo en vino en la cara que solo el estaba tomando ese dia, quise irme de la casa  y el me tomo de las muñecas y me tiro al suelo,arranque me tiro la copa de vino, que por suerte no me cayo, entro a la cocina y forcejio hasta que me quito el celular y lo rompio con sus manos y rodilla. despues del pelo me llevo hasta la pieza y me tiro a la cama y no me soltaba, yo me queria zafar pero tenia solo una mano libre, y intente quitarlo de encima tirandole el pelo y no pude, lo calme diciendo que era mi culpa que olvidara lo que dije y blabla sumisa para el, porque tenia mucho miedo, entonces se quedo mucho rato en la puerta y estaba super loco, me dcia que tenia que terminar con lo que habia empesado que como  iba a seguir con esto, que algo tenia que hacer, siempre yo conteniendolo para que no mi hiciera nada, luego comenzo a tomarse el botellon de vino que se venia tomando hace rato, y yo sali a comprar pensar en que wea hacer, volvi y estaba raja de curao y se quedo dormido, a la mañana siguente me hice la weona para que el se fuera y lo queria dejar con su mama, entonces me doy cuenta que abajo de la cama habia un alcohol de un litro, le pregunte que onday no me dijo na, lo voy a dejar y vuelvo, y me pasa un cuchillo y le dije ya que verga pasa, sin querer provocarlo, entonces me dijo SI LLAMAY A LOS PACOS TE MATO Y QUEMO LA CASA. eso paso el 29 de julio y el 2 de agosto, fuimos a las casa de su mamá en villa alemana cuando comenzo a decirme que ese día que habiamos tenedo relaciones sexules , me dice,que se iba a masturbar en la ducha, pero como lo iba a ser si tiene su mina (complejo de propiedad)  me dice : que siempre me ha gustado tu cara pero que esta vez nisiquiera te mire, como que no se ya no es lo mismo. antes de eso habia hablado con una amiga de el, y me dice que salgamos al otro dia a la playa con ella y yo bkn. entonces me queria hechar dde la casa porque me dijo que queria salir de la nada, y le dije que si me pdia quedar y me dijo que no que me fuera, en eso le pido su celular para hablar con mi hermana para ver si me podia ir a su casa, y me tiro una frasada que me tapo y yo la corri y se dio vuelta una copa de vino que estabamos tomando, en eso le digo que si se queria quedar con el chip, el celu o la targeta me memoria y me dice yo no te pregunte cuando rompi tu celular, entonces lo desarme y desarme la bateria, eso lo hizo enojar no se si decir es obvio, pero buee, entonces tira mi ropa y limpia con ella el vino derramado, y me tira a la cama y no me queria soltar de los brazos, y yo intentaba tirarle el pelo, porque era la unica forma y se victimizaba, me decia ---- sueltame cuando el no me soltaba , solo para que sus papas escucharan lo que a el le convenia, entonces despues me suelta, yo agarro mi ropa y la hecho en un bolso cuando intento yo sacar una wea abajo de la cama y cosas personales del cajon, el por atras me comienza afixiar con una pañoleta, eso termina cuando luchando pude sacar un puso una pañeleta de mi cuello despues de mucho rato yo grito marcelo su padrasto y sube y lo saca de la pieza. esa fua la manera en que me solto Al dia siguien fui a constataar lesiones y poder la denuncia. Desde entonces me manda mensajes de 3 emails distintos, se pasea por mi casa, en agosto tipo veinti tanto, entro sin permiso a mi casa a sacar sus cosas, mis vecinos identificaron que fue el, ademas de solo sacar sus cosas y dejar una foto que de nosotros que yo tenia guardada en un cajon. El tiene una denuncia por violacion a morada, abjuntare el parte. despues de eso una vez me lo tome en la calle y le dije que no tenia nada que hablar con el, y el me persigue de bellavista a las heras, por la calle paralela, tuve que llamar a los pacos, pedir ayuda a dos personas que me ayudaron, y el con la llamada se fue, nunca me dejo ir a la casa, que me tuve que cambiar por el constante acoso. llamo a mi mama en año nuevo, escusandose de que ella lo habia llamado cosas que no es asi. En fin, siempre me trataba mal diciendo cosas como, solo estoy contigo porque no tengo donde estar, que estaba gorda, que nadie iba a creerme, que no era nadie y nadie me iba a pescar, que era una mierda, que valia pico, que nunca podia hacer nada por el, siempre me celaba porque supuestamente yo miraba a weones o hablaba con wns, que era maraca, puta, de todo. Quiero dejar en claro que mi intencion no es hacerle daño a su familia, (aunque lo tapen) me da lo mismo sus amigos porque todos son unos drogadictos culiaos, pasados a keta,morfa y falopa. ESPERO QUE LO CONOSCO Y SEPAN QUE CON EL NO SE PUEDE TENER UNA RELACION NI DE AMISTAD NI AMOROSA Y SEXUAL. ABUSADOR DE MIERDA.

The path ... and the tunnel

Once in our home country, we faced again the same problems, but this time we had a new set of tools, an approach that will help us get the job done!

PDIA!

Well, Matt told us the path would be complicated and that maybe we won´t find all the answers. 

At this point, I thought I wasn´t making any progress. I didn´t realize the complexity of the process until I discover that my whole experience was about finding the public organizations interested in the implementation of the approach. In fact, in retrospect, this was my first way of iteration.

My country´s particular situation (the former President was impeached, the Vice President assumed the Presidential Office and the Congress was dissolved) made it very difficult for me to find any Ministry or National Agency interested in anything but the survival of their main policies (and jobs)!

So, I decided to deconstruct my own problem, and I prepared my fishbone:

I search for entry points and I realized that the main problem was the authorities don´t care about something they don´t understand. So, as Matt wasn´t coming to Peru any time soon, I decided to visit some public officers in order to explain to them the approach and find a way to go through this.

My first 4 or 5 attempts were a complete failure. But I kept trying. I traveled even out of Lima (my hometown) to find public organizations interested in the application of the PDIA.

I tried to keep myself optimistic but I was getting hopeless! Happily, I got my IPP family backing me up!

Anisha was amazing keeping us together! I guess we would never get this far without her. Thank you!

I understand that every time I visited a new authority, I have to focus on the relevance of the PDIA linked to the public value creation process. I learned that I can not avoid the context and I had to read about the problems of the region/institution/people I was visiting in order to be more effective.

Anyway, the time was running and I was trying harder. But there was no light outside the tunnel. Until I found it.
