The poet Vincent Katz has a keen eye for the composition of a scene, and visual artists have influenced and sparked his poems. He first met the painter Paul Resika in Maine, one day in the mid-1970s, when he accompanied friends who visited Resika at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. They looked at the canvases, introduced Vincent to Paul, and the two talked briefly about their mutual interest in poetry. “I told him I was reading Allen Ginsberg, Gary Snyder, and William Carlos Williams,” Vincent recalls. “He said he loved Shelley. In my memory, this instant connection lasted a mere five minutes.” Vincent admired Resika’s work as he got to know it after that day, “for its blending of abstract and representational elements, his often bright colors that seemed to evoke Baudelaire’s (and Matisse’s) luxe, calme, et volupté, and his seaside visions, which I learned derived from summers spent in North Truro, Massachusetts.” He continues, “As the decades went by, I always remembered our brief meeting in Skowhegan. It stuck with me as a kind of iconic affirmation of the importance of poetry (or the importance of anything, really) in the lives of two people, that they can share something.” Finally, in 2017, Vincent made an effort to meet Paul again, and began regularly visiting his studio in New York. The title poem of Katz’s Broadway for Paul was written after one such afternoon; the poems in its second section, including this one, take their titles from a series of gouaches Resika did in North Truro in the 1990s.
Encounter
for Oliver
Yesterday, as we walked from the town, And the light faded from the sky, I thought, How striking The dark shapes of buoys and barks In front of the still bay, and land opposite
And I thought, Poetry cannot suffice For this, only painting could evince This light, and evincing, might Reach an equivalent sense of calm Or overview, photography could not
Then my son said, Don’t under- Estimate the power of the word, And I thought, Perhaps? This morn, Again I see the sea, land opposite, Boats and air and clouds, and wonder
“Encounter” by Paul Resika, 1990 (gouache on paper, 7 x 10 1/4 )

Unveiling the Truth Behind the Fake Winner Rolex Daytona 1982 Ad
The Rolex Daytona has long been a symbol of luxury, precision, and high performance. Its rich history in motorsport and its association with iconic figures have made it one of the most coveted timepieces in the world. However, with its popularity comes the prevalence of counterfeit products, including fake advertisements. In this article, we will delve into the world of fake winner Rolex ads, particularly focusing on the infamous 'Rolex Daytona 1982' ad, and how it ties into the broader issue of replica watches.
The Rolex Daytona: A Brief Overview
The Rolex Daytona was officially introduced in 1963 and has since secured its place as one of the most sought-after chronographs. It was designed with motorsport in mind, featuring a tachymetric scale on its bezel, which allows drivers to measure average speeds over a distance. Over the years, the Daytona has been associated with numerous racing legends, including the late Paul Newman, making it a staple in watch collectors' circles.
The Fake Winner Rolex Daytona 1982 Ad
In the 1980s, Rolex's advertising strategies were pivotal in cementing the Daytona's status. However, the emergence of the fake winner Rolex Daytona 1982 ad reflects a darker side of luxury branding. This particular ad falsely claimed that certain individuals had won a Daytona watch under dubious circumstances, exploiting the allure of the brand to generate interest and sales for counterfeit watches.
These fake ads often depict stunning visuals of the Daytona, complete with exaggerated claims about exclusivity and limited editions. They prey on the emotions of watch enthusiasts and collectors who aspire to own a piece of luxury but may not have the budget for an authentic timepiece.
Why Fake Ads Are Problematic
Fake ads like the winner Rolex Daytona 1982 ad not only mislead consumers but also tarnish the reputation of genuine brands. They create an ecosystem where counterfeit products flourish, leading to financial losses for both consumers and authentic brands. Moreover, these ads undermine the hard work and craftsmanship that go into creating genuine luxury watches.
For consumers, purchasing a watch based on a fake ad can lead to disappointment. The quality, longevity, and resale value of a counterfeit watch are severely lacking compared to authentic pieces. This is where the significance of awareness comes into play. Educating oneself about how to identify genuine products and being cautious with advertisements can save consumers from falling into the trap of counterfeit luxury.
Finding Quality Replica Watches
While the market is flooded with counterfeit timepieces, there is a growing demand for high-quality replica watches that offer an alternative for those who appreciate luxury without the hefty price tag. This is where Luxe Replica Watche comes into the picture. Our platform specializes in offering meticulously crafted replica watches that resemble iconic models like the Rolex Daytona.
At Luxe Replica Watche, we understand the allure of owning a luxury timepiece. Our replicas are designed with attention to detail, ensuring that they not only look good but also provide a satisfying experience for wearers. We prioritize quality and customer satisfaction, making our website a go-to destination for those who want a taste of luxury without breaking the bank.
How to Identify Genuine Ads and Watches
To prevent falling victim to fake ads and counterfeit watches, here are some tips for discerning consumers:
Verify the Source: Always check the credibility of the website or source of the advertisement. Established brands will only advertise through their official channels.
Look for Authenticity: Genuine brands provide detailed information about their products, including model numbers, specifications, and warranty information.
Read Reviews: Customer reviews and testimonials can provide insights into the authenticity and quality of a product or seller.
Consult Experts: If in doubt, consult an expert or a reputable jeweler who can help authenticate a watch.
Conclusion
The fake winner Rolex Daytona 1982 ad serves as a reminder of the challenges faced in the luxury watch market. As counterfeit products and misleading advertisements continue to proliferate, it becomes increasingly important for consumers to educate themselves. Platforms like Luxe Replica Watche offer a solution for those who appreciate luxury watches but seek an affordable alternative.
Remember, the joy of owning a watch comes not only from its appearance but also from its authenticity and the story behind it. Choose wisely, and enjoy the elegance of a luxury timepiece without the worry of falling for counterfeit traps!

Mr Pierre Cardin, the French-Italian fashion designer whose futuristic clothes shaped the mod aesthetic of the 1960s and influenced generations of designers, died today at the age of ninety-eight in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. His death was reported by the French Academy of Fine Arts.
Known for his sleek, architectural designs worn by celebrities from Jackie Kennedy to the Beatles, Cardin was also an astute businessman, bringing to the general public via mass production designs typically reserved for the rarefied world of haute couture, and licensing his name to products from perfume to pickles, alarm clocks to Android tablets. Unlike many of his peers, he oversaw his business for the span of his entire career, refusing overtures from corporations and individuals alike.
Born Pietro Cardin in Italy in 1922, Mr Cardin was a teenager living in France when he changed his name to Pierre. Beginning his career as a local tailor’s apprentice, he went to work for Jeanne Pacquin, Elsa Schiaparelli, and then, in 1946, for the fledgling Christian Dior, where, as head of the tailoring department, he contributed to the development of the New Look for which Dior would become famous.
In 1950, he established the House of Cardin, which quickly became known for its geometric cutouts and bold, ballooning profiles. In 1959, he created his first ready-to-wear collection and was summarily kicked out of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne (the organization eventually let him back in, after many of its members followed his lead).
The following year, he branched out into men’s ready-to-wear, and over the ensuing decade changed the shape of menswear, offering a slim profile that would come to define the look of the decade, as did his womenswear, streamlined space-age dresses, and miniskirts that reflected his interest in space travel and minimalism.
Over the next fifty years, Cardin expanded his empire, allowing his designs to be mass-produced in China and then in the Soviet Union, the latter sold in Cardin boutiques in Moscow. His licensing ventures encompassed luxe auto interiors, modular desks, and convertible couches, as well as less exalted objects like cigarettes and cassette tapes.
In 1981, he purchased the fabled Paris restaurant Maxim’s and promptly licensed that brand as well. He designed for dance troupes and rockers, and staged avant-garde events at his L’Espace Cardin, a repurposed nightclub on the Champs-Élysées.
Later years saw him undimmed and his work coming to be reappraised and appreciated: In 2014 he established a Paris institution dedicated to his work, the Past-Present-Future Museum, and in 2017 he opened a new Paris boutique featuring his new designs meant to be worn by the city’s bright young things. That same year, an exhibition of his oeuvre at the posh Breakers mansion in Newport, Rhode Island, drew more than one hundred thousand visitors.

TR25 | Community Reimagined Covers: The Angel of Darkness #2
Back in February, Crystal Dynamics debuted a special project that aimed to reimagine the box art of the mainline entries in the series. Each one features a different artist and their unique take on the game they were assigned with and is set to be released monthly throughout 2021.
For Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness (2003), however, the team changed things up in order to give their originally hand-picked artist some more time to finish their piece and, as such, they reached out to four incredibly talented community artists to illustrate their vision of Core Design's last Tomb Raider title.
The second one is a stunning gothic-inspired render designed by João Correa, also known as Jho Correa, a graphic designer and long-time Tomb Raider fan from Brazil known for his beautiful 3D depictions of our favourite adventurer.
Below you can find what the artist had to say on the making of this piece and download it in various sizes so you can customize all of your devices.
“For this piece I wanted to focus on the gothic aesthetic present in the game. Instead of doing something completely new, I decided to go back to what made the original cover so striking to me. The iconic blue fire, the iron gates opening behind her, the European panorama at the bottom and Lara’s striking figure standing ever so heroic right in the middle of the scene.
I was heavily inspired by the arts of Nekro, Bill Elis and Kilian Eng. I also took inspiration from other videogames such as Bloodborne, Castlevania and Blasphemous, and I made sure to make these inspirations obvious. I love to make game crossovers using their aesthetic elements.
The baroque-like carvings on the sides are supposed to tell a story. On the left side we have Eckhardt being banned by the Lux Veritatis, while on the right we have a sort of resurrection through the dark arts. He is ascending! Out of the depths of his imprisonment, into the 21st century. The black alchemist lives in a world of today. At the bottom I tried to use sculptures that represent despair and chaos. Having Lara almost walking over it, it’s supposed to represent her journey to clean her name and put things right (and remove the thorn in her side in the process, am I right?). The blood covered hands were... a choice. I was unsure if it was a good idea to cover her iconic duals in blood, but decided to go for it anyway because it adds to the whole story.
It was an absolute joy to work on this! Turned out to be one of my favorite pieces I have ever done, and I hope from the bottom of my heart that everyone else enjoys it just as much as I do.”
