gonna write a fic where eddie survives but stan still succeeds in his suicide, not in a reddie way but a richie mourns his best friend who he had remembered after 27 years but never even got to see him or talk to him, slowly comes to realization that he was in love with him even during his teenage years and he just suppressed until they started losing contact when they went to college and all of this doesn't even mean anything because there is nothing left of stanley uris other than him haunting richie in his dreams kinda way

Reddie Fic Recs
Okay so these are the ones I go back to and reread constantly!! All listed have multiple chapters, impeccable grammar/structure, and RIDICULOUSLY good characterization/dialogue. Theyre also all located on AO3. My obsession is too late for peak fandom interactions so these are what keep my hyper fixation alive.
1. In The Heat Of The Summer (You’re So Different From The Rest) by Kaboomslang
There’s a heatwave in L.A., the first time Richie sees Eddie naked.
Or
One very hot year in the life of two idiots in love, working shit out.
It is so so so so fucking good I can’t stand it. It’s an Eddie Lives AU that is 15 Chapters and 109,525 words of pining and comfort and beauty. Eddie comes to stay with Richie in LA after the events of It Chapter 2. Literally my only complaint is that Stan stays dead however the characterization of everyone and the way the writer handles their grief more than made up for it.
2. A Strange Sense of Familiarity by Katranga
“So Eddie, what brings you to the bar tonight?" Richie asked. "Gonna rebound from the divorce? Pick up a hot young twenty-something to feel young again?”
“Fuck you,” Eddie said, jutting his chin forward. “What a terrible way to ruin the mood.”
“I’m sorry, all my moods are poorly cultivated. What mood were you looking for?”
A nervous lump grew in Eddie's throat. He threw back his drink to get rid of it.
Hand wrapped around the glass he’d just slammed back onto the bar, he said, “The mood that gets me leaving with a schlubby forty-something.”
--
Pre-chapter two, Eddie and Richie meet and don't remember each other, but have an instant connection anyway...
This may be my favorite fic of all time. This is a Canon Divergence AU where Richie and Eddie meet at a bar prior to the events of It Chapter 2 and start sleeping together. Eddie is divorced so there’s no infidelity storyline (which I appreciate) HOWEVER Richie is still famous and in the closet so there’s still the secret love affair storyline (that I love). The characterization is literally perfect, it has amazing dialogue, and my boy Stan is alive and involved. The OCs are so so good too and I’m beyond obsessed with all the thought the author obviously put into it.
3. Sweeter By The Hour by Katranga
rich. 25. i can be your angle 😇... or yuor devil 😈
Edward. 38. Please don’t call me daddy.
--
Richie’s a struggling standup comedian slash bartender with a side hustle of sexting rich guys for cash. Eddie is recently divorced, recently out, and reluctant to dive into either the dating or hookup scene. He decides to give Sugr, a 'dating app with no commitment', a shot.
Katranga NEVER MISSES. Even though the losers club is in a completely different universe, the characterization and dialogue is so them that it scratches every itch in my brain. This is such a funny and adorable AU I would recommend to anyone that needs a break from the high stress and extremely high stakes of the traditional It Universe.
4. Here In Your Arms by kaspbrak_kid
Richie had no idea what to expect when Stan and Patty asked him to be their daughter's godfather, but it definitely wasn't becoming the part-time dad to a newborn.
This fic makes me cry like a bitch in the best way possible. This is a several years later fic in a Eddie and Stan Lives AU where Richie becomes godfather to Stan and Patty’s firstborn. This is so so special to me because it perfectly preserves The Loser’s Club dynamics in a safe environment and gives me all the found family warm fuzzies I so desperately need. As usual the characterization is phenomenal and Richie and Eddie’s relationship throughout this fic is so so special to me.
5. Richie Tozier’s Five-Step Mission in Getting Over His Childhood Sweetheart by MissDinahDarling
Alternatively: five times Richie tries to get over Eddie and the one time he gets under him instead.
This fic is so so fucking funny I love everything about it. Its also a Stan and Eddie Live AU and thehe dialogue and losers club dynamics are so so funny. I love seeing little snippets of how the losers lives are moving on and especially appreciate that Bev and Ben didn’t move as quickly as some fics do. Richies denial and stupidity are so relatable and its an extremely comforting read.
6. River by Unicornpoe
The thing—the thing is that Eddie hasn’t seen Richie in nearly five years.
They’ve gotten good at avoiding each other. They alternate holidays and get-togethers, only showing up when they’re sure the other won’t be present. They’re still in the same fucking city but Eddie makes sure to shop on the other side of town from their old place where Richie still lives, makes sure not to go to any of Richie’s favorite restaurants or bars or cafes or goddamn park benches. Eddie doesn’t join in on the Losers’s group FaceTime sessions when he knows Richie’ll be joining, and Richie does the same for him.
They couldn’t make their relationship work, but they’re fucking experts at being exes.
*
Eddie goes to spend the holidays at Bill and Mike's cabin in Vermont, and is surprised when Richie is already there. Things get worse when they're snowed in alone. Things get even more worse when Eddie remembers that he's still in love with him.
This fic gives me the most acute sense of profound longing I’ve ever had in my life. The EXTREMELY angsty hurt/comfort au I’ve ever read in my life. Not extremely inclusive of the rest of The Losers Club, but it hits hard.
7. This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by camerasparring
Just as the last car is passing them, Prince Charming makes a snuffling noise and Eddie freezes, still pressed on top of him. He’s suddenly aware of every single place they’re touching, and Eddie thanks the brutal Chicago cold - there’s no way he could pop a boner when it’s this freezing. God, he hates himself.
The man opens his eyes for a moment and looks directly into Eddie’s eyes. Eddie’s mouth hangs open. He tries to smile, but he doesn’t think he achieves it. Instead, he swallows and says:
“Merry Christmas.”
The guy passes back out without a word.
__
or, the While You Were Sleeping AU no one asked for. Set Christmas 1995 and the gang is late 20's/early 30's
I read this before ever even hearing of the movie While You Were Sleeping. While the movie is now one of my favorites, it is absolutely nothing compared to the hilarious romcom of this fic. Found family! Secrets! Drama! Stan the mother fucking man! It is so so good and gives me all the good feelings the holidays provide whenever I read it.
8. Scratch On The Moon by Vulcanodon
Eddie Kraspbak has put aside his old life for good. He drives a stagecoach now and keeps to himself- his days of running with the Denbrough gang are long gone. But when two old friends show up and tell him they have unfinished business back in Derry, Eddie can’t resist the chance to put a final nail in the coffin of the past…and maybe find out why Richie broke his promise all those years ago.
“I’ll take left if you take right,” Eddie calls out but when he looks over Richie isn’t even firing his gun; he’s looking at Eddie with a strange, unreadable expression on his face.
“What is it?” Eddie asks, panicking. “Are you hit?”
“No,” Richie says, “I just. I just wanted you know. That I…that I feel the same way.”
“What?” Eddie asks, totally lost. A bullet whistles past his ear.
“I mean I...” Richie says, as if he’s struggling to get it out. “I feel the same way about you. I mean. That I always did.”
“Could we maybe postpone this conversation?” Eddie says, having to yell over the gunfire. “To a time when we aren’t getting shot at?”
Are you gay? Is longing and the tragedy of wasted time your guilty pleasure? Did you read River by Unicornpoe and want more? Do you like westerns? READ THIS FIC AND COME TALK TO ME IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!
9. You Ain’t Nothing But A Hound Dog (And They Call It Puppy Love) by Fluffifullness
Okay, Richie, so you’ve just been Shaggy Dog’d, you’re either kicking it in the weirdest of all possible afterlives or you never died and the sewer clown is punking you. What next?
(or: Eddie makes it out of Derry, gets a divorce, and adopts a dog.)
Richie gets “Shaggy Dog’d” after he sacrifices himself for Eddie during the events of It Chapter 2. Grief, pining, and Richie’s internal monologue being fucking hilarious. And STAN LIVES!!!!!!
10. Thanks For Pudding Up With Me by Mooeydooey
Eddie Kaspbrak was once one of the most influential professional chefs in New York. After an unfortunate incident in his kitchen, he loses his job and most of his earnings. Down on his luck, with no where else to go, he accepts a job offer with the ragtag 'Prospect Test Kitchen' in Boston.
What starts as a small passion project, making cooking tutorials online, becomes a lot more complicated and bigger than they could ever imagine when Bill brings in a new addition to their team. A comedian with a shocking background and surprise talent for culinary arts: Richie Tozier.
Eddie's the only one who doesn't like the new recruit, but Bill bribes Eddie into giving Richie a chance. At the end of six months, Richie's contract will expire. Eddie will get to decide whether they offer him a contract renewal, or refuse to re-hire him.
Things are heating up in the Prospect street Test Kitchen! Will Eddie stick to his guns, and keep his dignity? Or will he get lost in the sauce?
SO FUCKING FUNNY!!! An absolutely genius buzzfeed-esque au that is exactly what I need when I want a laugh. My favorite parts are when they go into like a third person screenplay mode for describing the events in the videos. I cannot get enough of this enemies(?) to friends to lovers au and I’m so so glad it exists.
11. A Fistful of Coal Dust by Jay Auris (nighthawkms)
Eddie Kaspbrak usually works alone. For a bounty hunting mage, this is unheard of; dangerous, foolhardy. But for Eddie - stricken with a dangerous abnormality to his magic - it's the safest way to survive.
When a new bounty takes him to the backwater town of Derry, he's not expecting anything more than a hard job done right for good money. But Eddie's past is about to catch up with him, and Derry could face the consequences. He'll have to team up with a rag-tag bunch of misfits - a sheriff with too much on his shoulders, a tavern owner haunted by loss, and four other hunters with their own secrets and motivations - if he wants to survive.
And maybe, if he's lucky, he'll get an answer to the one question that's been bugging him since he got to Derry: Who is Richie Tozier, and what does he want from Eddie?
A super fun Steampunk-Western-Magic-Bounty Hunter AU that has the perfect ratio of action, drama, and intrigue. I have no idea how the author came up with such an amazing idea and how they were able to do so much incredible world building but I absolutely LOVE IT.
If anyone reads any of these fics I would love to talk about them and hear what you think! They’re all so so so special to me and stay on my fic rotation, so if y’all have any suggestions for me too I’m happy to check them out!

Saaaam, I don't know if this will interest you because it's a little crack-y but I need to tell someone of this Stozier dream I had earlier 😭
So earlier, I re-watched IT chapter 1 and 2 and like every other time when I get invested about something, I ended up dreaming about it in some way. Usually I just end up dreaming that I took the place of one of the main characters...
( last time I dreamed about IT, I dreamed that I was Eddie Kaspbrak in Chapter 1 and let me tell you, Sonia Kaspbrak is the worst and since I could "hear" Eddie's thoughts while everything was happening, I woke up crying lol also he likes Richie so much but is oh so repressed, my poor baby )
...this time, I dreamed of Chapter 2 and I dreamed that I was Patty. But the dream didn't follow the movie's plotline, instead, it was a whole different AU! As Patty, I'm apparently a noblewoman vying for Prince Stanley's hand in marriage ( think the ball dance from Cinderella ). At first I, as Patty, think that Stanley likes me enough– we danced, talked, had a few laughs. But then, a late carriage arrived and walks out, Richie MF Tozier, looking good as a fellow Prince and Stanley could not take his eyes off of him at all. What made this kind of crack-y was Richie announcing that he'll be vying for his hand as well and while the other nobles ( men and women alike ) all looked venomous at the added competition, Patty's first thought was ::
'Ah fuck, I'm not going to win this, am I?'
I don't know but I just find it so funny that I HAD to tell someone about it. Hope you did as well lmfao
That is funny, thank you for the giggle 😭
also I love a good royalty au, obsessed with them really, so thank you for sharing this. I can see Richie just showing up with an abundance of confidence to win Stan's hand.
Makes me like to think that maybe Richie was one of Stan's personal servants and the two have been pining over each other for years but they could never be together unless the court approved. So Richie- despite Stan's protests showed up to the ball to try to earn just that. Stan argued against it out of fear of backlash but he falls in love a little more at Richie's dumb bravery.

Richie and Stanley’s friendship pt3
What Bill and Eddie learned from being friends with Stanley and Richie was that they were little shits. You’d think that Stanley would a saint but with Richie, they become two halves of a whole idiot.
The amount of trouble they got into because of the two boys was crazy. The rest of the losers would find this out when they joined later on.
Richie and Stan very much enabled each other. Richie could somehow convince Stan to do literally anything and Stanley would be an annoying little shit when he needed to be.
Most teachers prayed that they didn't have the two boys together in their classes. They were both good students who were on honor role and got amazing grades, its just they would find ways to annoy each other and bickered like an old married couple.
The two boys had many firsts together. Stanley taught Richie how to ride his bike without training wheels, Richie helped Stanley through his first Panic attack, sneaking into a R rated movies, Richie was the reason Stanley found a Barred owl nest, fighting a demon clown... etc
The boys also had there first kiss together, they were about 15 when it happened. The boys were just hanging out after school working on a project and Richie asked Stan to kiss him. Stanley looks at his best friend and kisses him. Richie kisses him back, the kiss lasted like 5 seconds and then after the boys went back to there homework.
They don’t really talk about that kiss until later when Richie comes out to Stan as Bisexual. Stanley is super supportive, saying that he already kinda guessed knew but he was proud of him nonetheless.
As they get older, more and more loser start leaving and forgetting, leaving just Stan, Richie and Mike. (The order in my head goes Bev, Bill, Ben, Eddie)
Richie is heartbroken after eddie leaves the summer before their senior year and turns to Stan for comfort. Stanley,of course ,helps out his best friend. Mike helps out as well but since Stanley knows him best, mike lets him take the lead.
Mike, Stanley and Richie get really close and hang out every day, trying and figure out why the other losers forgot. This is where Mike agrees to stay behind so that he doesn’t forgot.
Throughout the school year Richie gets really nervous about going away to college because he doesn’t want to forget and gets Stanley to apply to the same colleges as him. Stanley also doesn’t want to forget so he does
But the clown has it ways and they don’t get into the same colleges. The boys are devastated. And Richie even considers just not going to college at all and just following Stanley to Georgia. Stanley doesn’t like that idea and knows how badly Richie wants to get as far away from Derry as he can.
The summer after graduation, the boys plus Mike plan a huge week long camping trip because Stanley got early admission and has to leave early for college. They try to make the best out of it but Richie is a hot mess the whole trip.
Stanley leaves two days after they get back from the trip. The Tozier’s take off of work to help pack Stanley’s things into the his car/say goodbye. Maggie cry’s when she hugs Stanley for the last time and Went holds back his when it’s his turn. When Stanley gets to Richie, they are both in hysterics. They can barely get any words out.
Stanley hands Richie his bird book and Richie gives Stanley a mix tape hoping that will help them remember each other. (It doesn’t) Stanley gives Richie one last hug and gets into his car and drives off.
Richie calls Stanley every day up until he leaves for college, then the calls slowly start to fade. Both the boys know that they have to call someone but they can’t remember who.
A few weeks after the calls stop coming Stanley meets Patty Blum, she reminds him of someone but he can’t place his finger on it. They become best friends quickly and later start dating. Stanley is head over heels in love with her but he can’t help but feel like he’s still missing something(or someone)important. They date throughout college and get married a little after they graduate. With the money they got from the wedding, they buy a cute house to start there lives together. Stanley creates an accounting firm with a friends from college that becomes pretty successful.
Richie makes lots of friends during his time in college but none of them fill the Stan sized whole in his heart. Senior year of college he meets his future manager Steve during a open mic. Steve is witty and quick thinking, and finds Richie somewhat funny. They become quick friends and Steve offers Richie a chance at becoming big. Richie takes the offer and drops out of college. He becomes Richie “Trashmouth” Tozier the loud mouth comedian.
Part one
Part two
Let me know if you want a part 4 :)

YO ‼️‼️‼️ you got any family hcs for the neibolt kids :] like post reddie Reunification 👀 simply bc they are adorable and I love them
aaa hello!! sorry it’s taken me a minute to get to this, this week’s been v busy. but!! i have some hcs! i’ve been thinking about these for the past lil bit, & there’s probably more but! for now i have this list of random hcs!
Family/Neibolt Girls HCs!
•Eddie & Richie would 100% be learning sign language as soon as they reunite. they want to do all they can to understand & communicate with N!Richie better.
•& Neddie would join them in learning too bc she saw how happy other people speaking ASL with her made Richie & she wants her to be happy
•i feel like N!Richie would want to go to school. like, she’s read/seen lots about it & she’s just so curious about what it is & all the things she could learn there (think Luca).
•Neddie could care less about school. she has 0 interest in going, but she would only go to protect her Richie.
•tho I don’t think Eddie thinks it’s a good idea to send the girls to school. bc of Eddie’s goo & Richie’s sewn mouth & maggots,,, she’s not not sure the school system would allow it/what they’d think of it
•so maybe her & Richie homeschool the girls! Neddie hates it, but N!Richie loves learning about anything the Adults will tell her about. and maybe they make lil trips to museums & other places so the girls can learn more.
•Neddie would have a Tumblr. that’s it.
•random one but I feel like N!Richie would hum to herself. Like, nothing in particular, she would just make small humming noises every once in a while bc that’s pretty much the only verbal thing she can do.
•she doesn’t even notice she’s doing it, it’s just a mindless thing she does
•the girls have a bunk bed, but more often than not Neddie either sleeps on the floor or creeps her way down to the bottom bunk to sleep with her Richie
•Neddie hates to admit that she loves giant stuffed animals, like the ones you’d find/win at a carnival. she just thinks they’re neat.
•on the contrary, N!Richie prefers small stuffed animals but she has a t o n
•at Halloween time, Eddie & Richie try to take the girls to an “haunted” abandoned house attraction (like at a theme park or something) & they both refuse to go inside bc it reminds them of 29 Neibolt
•Neddie will literally growl at anybody who looks at her Richie even the l i t t l e s t bit wrong
•Neddie has attempted to dye her hair herself multiple times
•(Eddie caught her every time & Neddie’s still salty about it)
•but one time she lets Richie helps her! neither of them know what they’re doing but Richie watched exactly half of a (5 minute long) YouTube video so she’s qualified
•they dip-dye it blue, so Neddie can decide if she likes it enough to add more next time
•Neddie thinks it’s so cool & now she wants to dye it every color
•(she thinks she’ll try pink next, not because she necessarily likes it, but bc it reminds her of her Richie)
•Neddie & (adult) Richie love to recreate memes/vines together
•N!Richie loves mini backpacks/purses bc look at all the things she can put in there!
•she has a little collection of things that fascinate her. it has items such as a rubix cube, crayons, safety pins, etc.
•the girls are actually very good & fun babysitters! specifically to Stan & Patty’s baby (they have a baby fight me). Richie tries to teach the baby some ASL bc they can’t talk & she wants the baby to be able to communicate (she doesn’t realize it’s just not old enough to speak yet), & she just likes to watch the baby do whatever bc it fascinates her what the baby likes. Neddie is more chaotic (obviously) & doesn’t mind if the baby spits up or screams (she thinks it’s funny), but she’s also surprisingly good at making the baby calm down when it starts crying. no one understands Neddie’s secret, Neddie doesn’t even really understand herself, but she’s just able to make the baby feel safe and loved. (& ya know, that probably makes Neddie cry herself bc she hasn’t felt that before & now she has a family & her & Richie are s a f e & she’s actually h a p p y)
•Eddie & Richie don’t get many nights out bc they don’t trust the girls home by themselves
•well, Eddie doesn’t. Richie thinks they’ll be fineeeee but Eddie’s not risking it
•so they only go out when the girls have been really good/they’ve all been on good terms, or when another Loser(s) visit/when they visit other Loser(s).
•Richie sometimes let’s the girls style her hair & pick out her outfits
•even tho they all fight a lot, Richie & Eddie are actually really good moms/mom figures! they care for the girls so much, & the girls love them sm too (tho Neddie refuses to admit it). they’re all just one big (mostly) happy family & they own my heart i love the Tozier-Kaspbraks

Rating some Losers Club ships:
Benverly (Ben and Beverly) 10/10 So cute. My favorite straight couple ever.
Denscom (Bill and Ben) 1/10 Ya'll stay friends. There such opposites half the time.
Hansbrak (Ben and Eddie) 0/10 Do I even have to say why this wouldn't work.
Haslon (Ben and Mike) 4/10 I mean cute and all but I don't see them being together to long.
Benchie (Ben and Richie) 3/10 I guess this could work but there a better friendship. I also feel like Richie annoys Ben sometimes.
Stancom (Ben and Stan) 3/10 I just want them to be freinds that go on hikes and read books. I just can't see them together.
Billverly (Bill and Beverly) 8/10 OK I really love them and feel like there good together but maybe not good FOR eachother. I also just love Benverly a lot.
Edverly (Eddie and Beverly) 2/10 Just no. Not eachothers types at all.
Beverlon (Mike and Beverly) 7/10 This could actually be really cute and work out. I can see it but I don't fully love it.
Bevchie 5/10 They'd be cute and be good together. But I like the friendship Holmes and Watson duo that we have more than I'd wnat them together.
Stanverly (Stan and Beverly) 6/10 This would be nice but Stan and Beverly would be like really close friends over lover's in my head. Like they vent and cry with eachother. But dating I feel like is too far for them.
Kaspbrough (Bill and Eddie) 4/10 I just do t like it. They're to different and neither of them could handle eachother in a relationship.
Hanbrough (Mike and Bill) 10/10 I REALLY love them together. I've said it before, if Stan is dead than I want theese two together as adults but if Stan's not dead then I like him and Bill together. But yes, Hanbrough is one of my favorites. Like they would go on camping trips together and that would be cute.
Bichie (Bill and Richie) 6/10 I think this could work but they're better as freinds. I like to think that Bill and Richie are actually best friends. So yeah, I guess I could see them together, but I think they should just stay friends.
Stenbrough 10/10 I love theese two. I think this would just work. Even in the book where Bill is a little bossy and sometimes pushy I thunk that him and Stan need eachother around. And Bill could pick Stan up off the ground and Stan could help Bill be a little more rational.
Hanbrak (Eddie and Mike) 3/10 I just can't picture theese guys as a couple. Of course I think they'd be really close and good friends, but Eddie just isn't right for Mike and vise versa.
Reddie (Richie and Eddie) 10/10 Yes, my favorite ship. They're the perfect amount of diffent and similar to eachother. And plus it's cannon in the movies that Richie likes Eddie. I love them together. I feel like there would be a lot of pain and hard times before they get together because they both have trouble with it. But once they're together they would be amazing.
Steddie (Eddie and Stan) 3/10 They're just too problematic for eachother and that's all I have to say.
Hanzier (Mike and Richie) 5/10 I guess but I personally am not a fan. Mike needs someone who can like sit at home and watch a movie drink some wine and head to bed and that's just not Richie. Richie needs someone who can keep up with him.
Stanlon (Mike and Stan) 10/10 So I'm actually a pretty big fan or this one. I think k like I said Mike needs someone to have a night in with. And Stan I think needs someone who would push him out of his comfort zone wich Mike would do. So I thing this could really would pretty well.
Stozier (Stan and Richie) 6/10 This has potential but there butter as friends because I feel like as a couple they'd argue a lot because they bicker a ton as friends and that could develop wrong if they were to date.
(Lil bonus) Stanpat (Stan and Patty) 10/10 Of I couldn't have Stan with Bill or Mike than I NEED Patty around. So they seem to only be the really happy couple in the book. They also learn things like sex from eachother and seem pretty similar. I think there's a lot of trust and commitment and communication and just a lot of good stuff about Stan and Patty together. Also there so cute.
All my opinions. You have yours, I have mine. Thanks for reading, this took me forever to do.

Honestly Patty and Richie are both absolutely batshit 😌 they get wine drunk while they plot how to get Stan and Eddie back, bc they refuse to even thinking of the possibility of them not. Like, it just isn't an option
Richie and Patty share their experiences with Stan, to catch each other up on his life, and they both talk about their loves. It's a meant-to-be friendship, and she's a Loser that's just a little late to the game
Stan and Eddie also get a major bollocking when they get brought back, then they hug and cry
Okay I really didn’t expect that post to blow up as much as it has so I decided to write this out! Hope you enjoy it :) also based on this post
The Derry Townhouse was, in short, filthy. It clearly hasn’t been maintained in years, the building itself has such an aura that screams get out. But, thankfully, the liquor is clean, or that’s what Richie told her and at this point, she’s inclined to believe him. Truth be told, it was quite a shock to Patty when she found the washed up comedian sitting at the bar unaccompanied. Its been three months since Stan died, three months since this so-called Losers Club (of which, Richie was apart of, that much she knew) reunited only to disband again, yet here he is still drowning in his own sorrows. It was even more shocking when he recognized her, or at least her name, and invited her over for a drink. In the past months, any of Stan’s old friends she got ahold of brushed her off or simply begged her to stay away from this topic all together, but here’s Richie, paying for her drink and indulging her.
“So, you’re the famous Patty, huh?” He questions, a half-hearted smirk resting on his lips.
“Famous? We both know that description fits you better, Mr. Tozier.”
The formality makes him scoff, “please, Mr. Tozier was my father, or some stupid shit like that- the point is, we’re all very interested in Stan-the-man’s wife. He’s the only loser that didn’t seem to have divorce written in the stars.”
Immediately, Patty wants to call bullshit on that claim. She’s talked to every other loser save for this one and they’ve wanted nothing to do with her other than warn her of a terrible danger. She opens her mouth to argue, but snaps it shut in favor of reasoning with herself. Regardless of how they’ve brushed her off in the past, she’s finally found someone who won’t, someone she can get the tiniest bit of information out of if she plays her cards right. She doesn’t say anything, just nods along and judges her next words.
“Gotta say, you’re no regular tourist,” she tells him, raising her glass to her lips, pretending to be uninterested.
Richie doesn’t say anything for a moment, pursing his lips before lamely replying, “I grew up here.” He takes a rather large gulp of his own drink before continuing, “and I could say the same about you, couldn’t I? I mean, hanging out in the Townhouse makes you quite suspicious.”
She shrugs, “Stan grew up here... and this place is cheap. Lets just say...” She pauses, feeling unwanted tears well up in her eyes and threaten to flow over. “Lets just say I’m mourning...”
Richie watches her with intense eyes, carefully considering her reaction and, at least it seems to Patty, debating on what to say. He eventually decides, “yeah, well, you’re not the only one...”
In his eyes, there’s pain. Terrible, terrible pain and sorrow, something that makes Patty shudder. There’s no doubt in her mind when the following words slip from her lips.
“It was the clown, wasn’t it?”
And from pain to terror his eyes go in an instant. He gapes, struggling to find the words and failing with every second that passes. Bingo, Patty thinks, and reaches into her purse, pulling out a rather large notebook that she then slides over to the comedian. Richie, still unable to convey a sentence, opens the first page with shaky hands that he can barely control, he even drops it at first. On the first page, in big, bold letters, is written PROPERTY OF MIKE HANLON.
“Did...” Richie chokes out, “did you steal this!?” Upon turning the pages, it becomes very apparent that the contents are all about the supernatural elements of Derry, specifically the clown.
“Richie,” Patty says in an almost exasperated voice, “one minute, I’m planning a wonderful vacation with my wonderful, loving husband. The next, he’s taken his own life, only leaving incredibly vague letters addressed to friends I’ve never met. When I reach out to these friends, they shoo me off with warnings of a great danger I can’t possibly understand. Believe me when I say it’s true, this is a danger I don’t understand, but something tells me you guys don’t either.” She takes a pause, forcing her voice to stay still as it threatens to crack with emotion, “I will find out what happened to my husband, and I’d like to ask for your help.”
Richie doesn’t say something for quite some time, only looking over the pages with great horror but determination all the same. “Do you even have a plan? A means of finding answers?” He whispers, perhaps rhetorically but Patty doesn’t take it that way. She reaches over and flips to a bookmarked page where the grand photo of a turtle overtakes most of the page, vaguely gesturing to it with her hand as if to say read it yourself. Richie does, his breathing becoming increasingly unsteady. Eventually, he looks back up and meets her gaze with his own watery eyes. Eyes that are so damn hopeful but terrified to be so at the same time. “You... You haven’t seen what I’ve seen. You can’t possibly know what you’re going up against.”
“If you’re describing hell,” she cooly replies, “then I’ve already seen it. Nothing can be more horrific than seeing the love of my life bleeding out in our bathtub.”
Richie purses his lips, eyebrows meet in the middle with frustration before he blurts out, “I’ll help you, but you have to help me too.”
Patty nods, expectant of giving something in exchange. “What do you want?”
“To find my own love. I need answers just like you.”
She nods again, “who was she?”
“... his name is Eddie.”
They share intense eye contact for a moment, something that speaks more than anything they’ve said in the past hour. Patty holds her hand out, indicating a handshake, which Richie takes but pulls her into a rather breathtaking hug.
“Please, bring my Eds back to me,” he shakily whispers, voice thick with sadness, but a hint of hope slips with it.
“Only if you bring back my Stanley,” she replies, wrapping her arms around him to return the hug.
They’ll get along just fine.

BREAKFAST CLUB AU (because I'm obsessed)
OK OK YOU GUYS!!!
So I think about this on a regular basis and it is a finished story in my head, but I can't write this, I wish I could, I'm not made for it.
I don't think the characters of both movies share a of lot similarities and that it's not easy to give each loser the exact same story line of one of the breakfast club members, I just think they fit into this situation so so good.
So, the clown happened, this is all canon, but they all forgot, despite staying Derry, but I like the ending for the kids part in the book for this, wich was that they just broke apart and didn't hang out in the group anymore. So they all go to highschool, even Mike, but they think they were childhood friends who just grew apart.
Richie and Eddie
So I also really like the idea that Richie and Eddie kinda had a bad fight, wich is why Eddie is really really not happy to go to detention that day, but of course they have it badly for eachother even if they haven't talked in years...
So they kiiinda follow the story line of Bender and Claire (but I don't like the idea of Richie beeing that giant asshole that Bender is, he is too sweet) but you know the teasing and bickering makes so much sense. They are in one room together again, in the safety of their old friends who didn't know them any different, so it's easy for them to be like this again. And maybe fall in love all over again...
Mike and Bill
Themmm... I love to think they stayed friends. Also I want Mike to be a popular jock, ok? He got into Highschool after being homeschooled before, so it was kinda a shock for him at first, but Bill made him joyn a club or team, so he made the football team and OF COURSE everyone liked him. Because this is my story and I want him to be happy :c
So Bill is very focused on writing and taking extra classes for that. He also works on his stutter but it's still there. It even gets worse when he steps into the detention room as the last one to arrive. He feels a weird mix of excitement and fear in his stomach to see all his old friends together again, and can't stop thinking that this can't be a coincidence. (And it isn't, it's one of the last things the turtle can do, so it tried to bring them back together sooner)
Stan
STAN AND PATTY MET IN HIGHSCHOOL AND FELL IN LOVE AND ARE HAPPY THIS IS MY STORY I DO WHAT I WANT!!!!
Ok but Stan has been really into his school work. I think he would also kinda be the one who would jump between the friends, like, he would still hang out with Bill, Mike, Eddie and even with Richie, but he would be distant and maybe he gave up bringing them all back together. I like to see him work as the glue of the group that could not make himself stick enough, but he tried, I appreciate it TwT
He also, of course starts the heart to heart they have after they smoked weed, and makes them all cry and talk, so he gets what he deeply wanted at the end. All his friends back...
Bev and Ben
They haven't been talking much either the past years. Ben has been hanging out with Eddie a lot lately because they got a few classes together and after all they were still losers, so they actually became friends again. I want him to be in like a poetry club or something (were he gets other stuff done than JanuaryAmbers I'm sick of this shit, think of something new) but also he started to do some exercise!! He just started to go running and get through to his mom that he want's to get healthy. (We remember the scene from the book) But he is still a bit chubby, because cute. Also he has it still badly for Beverly.
Bev is hanging out with Richie all the time, you know those two. They still smoke and are a lot in detention for it, partly because of one speciffic teacher that just seems to hate them (I read a fic that had Bob Gray as Vernon and I LOVED this idea so much, but I don't know if this would work so great because I still want the events from IT to be canon here with him being too weak???) She has a crush on Ben since a year or so when she noticed he got more confident, but she feels bad for not talking to him anymore because she chose Richies side when their group split up. Ben is not mad at her for it but pretty sad.
Both of them have a little heart attack when they see eachother that day and when Bev walks in as one of the last, she smiles at him and it is as if they really see eachother again. They finall talk again and thEY FALL IN LOVE!!
Everyone
So the message of The Breakfast Club is that deep down, we are all the same and we can be friends with everyone. It has such a bitter sweet ending in wich we don't even know if they stay together after that day. But again, I want OUR kids to be happy, so if this would have been the Losers, they stick together after it.
PLEASE let me know what you think, I love this AU so much I want more!!!
Also sorry if I misspelled stuff (UwU)

Do you think you could do headcanons for if Richie got a woman pregnant on a one-night-stand, and the woman just ended up dropping the baby on his doorstep, and how the losers, including Richie, would react?
- let’s say this happens a few months after Derry 2.0
- because before that Richie was still very deep in the closet and he trying to prove to everyone around him that he’s very heterosexual.
- The woman he has a one night stand with is friends with Steve, mostly because he is secretly hoping she tell Steve about their night
- (Richie thinks Steve is suspecting that he’s gay and want to nip it in the bud)
- They go back to Richie’s place on evening after getting McDonald’s and it’s fine, obviously Richie doesn’t feel anything for her but she’s nice enough that he likes talking to her
- One thing leads to another and they spend the night together
- The next day things aren’t hostile between them but it is akward because Richie is nervously fluttering hoping she’ll go home soon
- She does and they don’t keep in touch, which is fine for Richie. He doesn’t want to feel the guilt every time he looks at her knowing that he used her for his own gain.
- Richie mostly forgets about that night and her, and after Derry he’s too busy to pay that night any thought
- His head over heels for Eddie now, and he’s gearing up to tell him soon.
- He’s waiting for Eddie’s divorce to come through. He doesn’t want to add pressure on Eddie during such a demanding time but, he’s excited for what will happen after.
- So they’re not yet dating, but they’re getting there. It’s just a matter of time.
- And then Steve shows up with his baby one morning.
- He’s pale white, and the hand of which he’s hold the maxicosi is trembling
- Of course, Richie being the trash mouth that he is, starts making fun of him.
- He doesn’t understand why Steve would have a baby with him (as far as he’s heard Steve didn’t want kids) but the comedy gold is right there for grabbing.
- ‘What’s the baby for Steve? Did you father a baby I didn’t know anything about?’
- Uno reverse card
- When Steve bashfully admits that it’s not his kid, but Richie’s, the latter laughs.
- At first he’s convinced it’s just Steve messing with him, but Steve would never go as far as to kidnap a baby.
- He still continues to chuckle even after apprehension starts to take hold him off
- ‘It’s not a joke Richie, this is your daughter.’
- Instead of becoming serious as the situation calls for it, Richie begins to cackle.
- Not laugh, not chuckle or snort, cackle.
- He’s so confused, and flabbergasted and he can’t believe this tiny human thing crying in her crib is his.
- ‘I’m just the messenger man,’ Steve placates, slowly sinking the carrier to the ground.
- When Richie is finally done laughing ( it goes on for a very long time) Steve is itching to get out of there.
- He leaves with very little more explanation other than; ‘it was your one night stand from a few months ago, she doesn’t have a name yet, and her mother is refusing to take care of her.
- Richie finds himself just staring at this tiny little thing that’s beginning to cry and whimper as she kicks her tiny feet in the air.
- She starts to cry earnestly after about five minutes, not to fond of not being payed attention too for so long
- Richie tries to shush her gently, but it’s a baby and they don’t listen to what anyone tells them too.
- The cries grow in intensity, and Richie’s slowly losing his mind.
- He’s pacing his apartment, in a daze. He’s working on automatic pilot, because he can’t comprehend the fact that he just became a father, he’s clueless about what to do
- His own daughters birthday remains a mystery to him for god sake.
- If Richie were thinking logically, he’d call Steve and ask him to come back and explain everything in a better way, but he’s not, and he can only think with his emotions.
- He ends up calling Ben and Bev.
- His first instinct was to call Eddie, seeing as Eddie is his best friend and all, but Eddie would panicked just as much as him and that would be of no help.
- Reaching out to Stan also pops up in his mind, but he can’t deal with cynical saying right now. He needs people who will be sympathetic towards him and hopefully tell him what to do.
- On the phone he barely explains anything to bev and Ben, but he does tell them to hurry up.
- When they get to the apartment, Ben and Bev are shocked at seeing the little baby, and get concerned after Richie fails to give them an answer about how or why she’s in his house.
- Regardless, they step up up to the task and do their best to take care of the girl they know nothing about.
- Ben drives to the store to get formula and blankets and diapers, while Bev fishes her out of her crib and begins to slowly rock her. They’re both calm and collected.
- Richie on the other hand is snapping out of his haze, and the reality of the situation begins to dawn on him.
- Bev tries to console him but it’s hard when she has zero background information.
- Ben comes back and heats up her formula, but she refuses to drink and lets out a piercing cry in refusal.
- Even Bev’s rocking isn’t doing anything the south the baby, and out of desperation, Richie begins to cry.
- Because Bev is out of option herself, and doesn’t have a clue on how to help Richie, she passes him the baby.
- Richie is terrified of holding this petit thing that fits just exactly right in his arms. He’s scared of crushing her or dropping her and messing her up for life.
- But miraculously, as soon as she’s snuggled in his arms, she stops crying.
- She’s just content to lay there with her dad, who eventually tries to bottle feed her and it works. She eagerly drinks from it.
- First crisis evaded
- But, after everyone has processed the first major shock, Richie needs to give Ben and Bev the answers they deserve now.
- Richie tries to be as straight forward as he can, but he hasn’t had the details yet himself.
- The two losers insists that he tells the others of their group right away. It’s too big of a secret to hide, and they need all the help they can get.
- Again, none of the losers are informed as to why they have to go to Richie’s house ASAP, but they still do, because he’s there best friend and they wouldn’t be called if it wasn’t important.
- It’s Stan and Patty that arrive after Bev and Ben.
- Stan and Patty are less astounded for some reason.
- Patty doesn’t even inquire, she just goes straight into cooing over the baby fase.
- She’ll sit next to Richie (still holding his daughter) and begins talking gibberish to the baby about how beautiful she is.
- Richie agrees.
- Stan follows her lead, but he simply observes the two of them together and then sits near touching to Richie.
- ‘I should have know you’d be the first one with a kid Trashmouth.’
- But he doesn’t lecture Richie, or starts to interrogate him about anything.
- He must have sensed that Richie wasn’t up to it at the moment.
- Bill and Mike are next.
- Within stepping one food inside the place, and spotting Richie with a baby, Bill laughs, and asks him who he knocked up.
- He intends it as a joke, obviously, but when no one else laughs, he realises how right he is.
- ‘Richie... have you been keeping your baby from us for three months?’ Mike asks, a little offended.
- ‘What do you mean three months?’
- ‘She’s clearly three months old. You can tell by her development.’ When everyone just stares at him, Mike explains further. ‘I had a lot of time on my my hands after you all left Derry. Maybe I spend that time reading children books.’
- He doesn’t more time to elaborate, because that’s the moment Eddie arrives.
- It’s his reaction Richie is most frightened off.
- He’s in love with Eddie, loves him with all his heart, but he can’t ask Eddie to date a man that just became a father. That would mean not only choosing him, but also his child.
- Eddie looks at the baby, at Richie and then back, and follows it up by cursing;’what the fuck’. loudly.
- The harsh sound startles the baby, but with a gentle kiss on the forehead that Richie gives her, she’s pacified back into sleep.
- ‘Oh shit, oh no. I need an explanation, right now.’
- Richie explains the story yet again, and hopes that none of his friends will label him as an asshole at the end of it.
- Of course they don’t, but Eddie is headed up over the whole situation.
- ‘I know a lot of lawyers after my divorce with Myra, I could hook you up someone.’
- ‘She can’t just dump her baby on you without any of the proper paperwork. What if she has a deadly disease and needs to get continuos treatment?’
- Eddie’s ‘advice’ turns Richie’s complexion green, and his stomach in knots. He’s never had to thought of that stuff before, and now he has a whole human being that depends on him for everything.
- Stan snaps at Eddie to stop him from adding more stress onto Richie, which Eddie does with a guilty apologie.
- ‘Look Richie,’ Stan says to him with full seriousness. ‘You need to decide what you’re going to do,and unfortunately you do not have a lot of time. You cannot put this off, she needs a name, and a crib and everything she needs to survive. You need to make a decision if you’re keeping her.’
- Richie gazes down upon his baby. The same baby he hasn’t let go off from the second he held her. He’s so scared, beyond explanation or able to put it in words, but this is his daughter. He could give her up for adoption, and he live would remain the same, but he knows she excites now, and to give her away to strangers? He don’t think he could have the heart.
- But...
- ‘I can’t do it by myself’, he admits, voice small and honest.
- ‘You’d never have to.’ Eddie responds, one of his fingers stroking over the ring babies head. He looks absolutely smitten.
- His life was uprooted once again, but last time the change wasn’t bad at all. Richie is confident, this won’t be bad either.
- Barely a month later Eddie moves in with them full time, and becomes pops to Maggie lover Tozier.

Club Mom- Losers Club
Sequel to Gang Mom (technically I’m writing them together so I don’t lose interest in my own writing.)
 summary/blurb
words 557
Everything felt wrong that year, seeing her on her own like that. The pink jacket that once covered her arms now abandoned, no one had seen it since before the, bowers incident. The old leather replaced by a green sweater that made those who took pity on the girl frown in her presence. Those who didn’t take pity on her however, let the rumors spread like wild fire. Some said she asked Henry to kill the others, a last result out of the friend group. Others thought it had been a trap for her that she barely escaped. There was even some of rumors that she planned to run off with Victor Criss and Henry killed him to stop it. And there was nothing she could do to stop them, because how do you tell the whole town that an evil clown possessed your first grade best friend to kill the other two? That would get her locked away with him for sure.
It was even more confusing when they saw who she was around now. The losers club tided to her hip and in ways, the group seemed to fit her more. The gentleness that once seemed to out of place beside Henry and Patrick made perfect since between Mike Hanlon and Stanley Uris. She still would carry snacks and band-aids in her bag but they changed, picking up new things and being careful of allergies she never had to worry about before. Now a spare inhaler would fall from her bag from time to time, obviously not hers and people just, knew. And then there was little things that made new rumors fly, just like back when she was with bowers. People seemed to believe she moved on to younger guys. It was in the way she would ruffle Eddie’s hair, the gentleness of her helping Mike by picking him up to carry his deliveries. That blue trans am she bought off Ms. Higgins being his god sent when he needed to run deliveries in the rain. It was in the way that Bill looked to her to relax when his stutter seemed to worsen and the way that she seemed to be the only one that could make Richie quiet. The times you’d find her in the library with Ben or the park with Stan. She was always there with one of them, many wondered if it was guilt, making up for what Henry did. But those rumors that she would be with one of them never truly faded no matter what group the girl found.
Everyone in town remembers the day she graduated, six boys all pretending they weren’t going to cry in the crowd next to her parents. And the day she left, no one out side of the losers club ever saw her cry that hard, and they hadn’t seen it since ‘89. Then it was University of Maine and moving to Atlanta. And for the first time, in her middle school classroom, Hailey felt at peace. Becoming friends with the aunt of one of star students who introduced her to accountant husband (who was truly a big help during tax season). And something about the two of them felt so safe and nostalgic, the friendship just seeming to click. But then there was the phone call, and Hailey Black realized she may never truly have the peace she craves. And she could never have a happy ending with childhood friends.

I love post-Chapter 2 fix-its where all the Losers are still alive and well, and I also love the idea of poly Losers, but we need to really examine the details here because it’s GREAT but like... people are gonna notice. Y’know?
First of all, suddenly all these big names who previously had absolutely no association with each other are just... hanging out. Since when the fuck is famous designer Beverly Rogan-Marsh (now just Marsh, the magazines are all saying) friends with Richie “Trashmouth” Tozier, human disaster in a Hawaiian shirt? Who the fuck is this dude hanging out with Bill Denbrough? Is that my fucking accountant? Architect Ben Hanscom on a coffee date with.... some guy who drives limos for famous people? Is that how they met? Why are they ALL hanging out? What the fuck triggered this weird-ass friendship?
Then... Ben Hanscom seen holding hands with Beverly Marsh at one of her shows. Wasn’t he with the limo guy, though? Oh, no, the limo guy was seen macking on Trashmouth backstage at one of his shows. Okay, I suppose that’s... oh, no, hold on, limo guy seen macking on my old accountant instead. Isn’t my old accountant happily married, though? Oh, yes, he is, there’s his wife with him on page 18 of this magazine I just picked up while waiting in the grocery store checkout. Weird.
Beverly Marsh seen with Bill Denbrough? What happened to his new boyfriend Mike? Oh, Mike’s been spotted doing some domestic bullshit with Trashmouth and his feral cat not-boyfriend who acts like his boyfriend, the limo driver. Eddie, apparently. What do you mean Bill Denbrough is dating Ben Hanscom? Where the fuck did that come from? Patty Uris, Beverly Marsh, and Richie Tozier all seen enjoying a romantic spa retreat together. Mike Hanlon and Eddie Kaspbrak are each other’s dates for one of Bill Denbrough’s movie premiers?
THEY GOT A FUCKING HOUSE TOGETHER?
E I G H T   O F   T H E M ?
Who the fuck is dating who? Tabloids are simultaneously having a field day and a full breakdown. The Losers love to fuck around, so no one can get a straight answer out of them about these things. The only indication about what’s going on is in the occasional interview when one of them says “my boyfriend” or “my girlfriend” or “my partner” and pause for a moment until the interviewer works up the courage to ask who that is, knowing the answer will be different every time, and they reply with a smirk and the name of yet another Loser.
People are beginning to suspect they’re just being toyed with, and none of these people are actually dating, maybe they’re just... doing some kind of project together? Making a movie, perhaps. Maybe a new Denbrough film. Seems like an odd cast but whatever.
But does that really warrant Ben Hanscom designing a big fuck-off house for them all to live in?
And then.... the gen z kids and the young millennials finally get through to the media. “You fools,” they cry, in tweets and emails and tiktoks. “You absolute imbeciles! It’s called polyamory! They’re all dating!”
Not that that makes the chaos die down at all, but it does make for some more interesting headlines to shake things up a little.

Headcanons for reader being a sad type of jealous when Stan U meets Patty?
:( it has a happy ending tho
you were the person to introduce stan to patty
it was at a small college gathering
you told the losers that you had found a new friend in your american studies class
it was patty
she was so pretty and nice
but the second patty and stan lock eyes on each other
you feel a little jerk in your stomach
you had always had something for stan
I mean come on
it’s stan
who could not have feelings for him?
which was exactly your point
of course patty would be interested in him
at first you tried not to think too much about it
maybe they were just being friendly towards each other
and you weren’t the type to create a scene when you’re jealous anyways
richie starts to see whats up
when you aren't talking and just sitting on the couch
he comes up to you and asks whats wrong
“nothing, im okay rich”
“that’s bullshit, y/n, you’ve always had a thing for stan whether you wanted us to know or not” richie said
then richie assured you not to get so worked up about it
the next week you tried to avoid stan
it was the only way that you could really not break down about the whole patty situation
you used to always meet up with him after his calc class so that you could go to lunch with him
and you just texted him and said you were busy
stan had enough
he had to know what was wrong
so he came to your dorm
when you answered you knew that there was no way you could avoid him
you let him in and it was quiet for a moment
before he went “what’s wrong, you don’t act like this with me, you never have”
“I have feelings for you stan”
you say it so abruptly that he doesn’t even believe what you said for a moment
he opens his mouth but you cut him off with “I just saw how you talked with patty and I didn’t want to have to face you”
but stan didn’t like patty
of course he thought she was an amazing girl
but stan says “I love you, y/n, always have”
you guys hug
each of you crying just a little bit
and you guys spend the rest of the night together

Dreamboat
summary: Richie’s his pining mess self, and it only gets worse when he has sex dreams about Eddie every night for a week. Eddie asks him why he’s been avoiding him all week, love confessions and smut ensues~
tags/warnings: pining-typical angst and guilt in the beginning, but it’s all resolved by the end! also, this is top!eddie/bottom!richie bc i haven’t written that dynamic in forever, gotta balance the scales lol
this didn’t need to be 7k words, but it is lmao enjoy
(also, if you wanna be taken off or added to my taglist, lmk! i have one for reddie fics and one for all of my fics, so please specify which one you’d like to be added to. thanks!)
read on ao3 or below!
notsfw below the cut!
Richie could not believe this was happening a-fucking-gain. This was the fourth time this week that he’d woken up hard after a dream about Eddie. He ran his hands over his face and groaned, his skin burning from his face down his chest. Guilt sank low in his stomach as he shut off his alarm and stared up at the ceiling of his dorm room.
Guilt, and a sizable helping of heartbreak.
It had felt so real. He could still feel dream-Eddie’s fingertips ghosting over his skin. He could feel his tongue teasing over Richie’s own, so soft and warm and the perfect balance of rough and smooth. He could feel Eddie grinding against him. He could picture so vividly Eddie dropping to his knees, a sweet smirk on his face as he—
No. Fuck, fuck, no. Richie breathed in sharply through his nose and scrunched his eyes shut, willing his aching boner to go down. The emotional come down helped, realizing he would never get to touch Eddie like that, would never get to know what he felt like, how he liked to be touched. He tried to ignore it, he really did, he’d been trying to get over it for years. But how was he supposed to get over someone like Eddie? Richie had never felt his heart flip like it did around Eddie. He’d realized one day in the seventh grade that Eddie’s laugh made him feel different than anyone else’s, warmer. He wanted to know that Eddie was okay all the time, and he selfishly wanted to be the one to make him happy. His heart sang every time Eddie chose to sit next to him. The first time Eddie rested his head on his shoulder Richie thought he was gonna vomit. But, like, in a good way.
So yeah, being in love with Eddie was par for the course. It was a part of Richie as much as his freckles and knobby elbows. But these dreams… He’d had a few before, scattered here and there across the years, but he’d managed to black them out. One or two flukes was okay, right? He’d had a sex dream or two about Bill before. Hell, he’d had sex dreams about a cashier he saw once at a Burger King. It was fine. The mind was a weird thing.
But four in a week? That was different. It made him feel like a fucking creep; he made his own skin crawl. And they were so vivid. How could he look at Eddie now? How could he let Eddie touch him, not knowing what Richie had dreamt of those hands doing?
He bit his lip as he thought about it, the most confusing mix of arousal and shame blooming in his chest. He only came back to his senses when he tasted copper on his tongue. He did his best to shove the thoughts aside as he swung his legs over the side of his bed, halfheartedly tossing his comforter back toward the top of his bed before deciding to smooth it down more neatly. He took another deep breath and ran his hand through his hair, trying to collect himself enough to pick out an outfit for the day. He just needed to locate a shirt, boxers, and pants. And socks. God, why did that feel difficult?
Showering didn’t help clear his mind. Cocoa puffs didn’t help. Not even his acting class could help; his teacher just had them lying on yoga mats that smelled like disinfectant and stale rubber doing breathing exercises for the first half of class, which did absolutely nothing to calm him down or take his mind off of the fact that it was Friday, which meant movie night in Bill and Mike’s room. Nights when Richie and Eddie “fought” over who got to sit on the giant Yogibo before settling into it together, nice and dizzyingly close.
He managed to avoid sitting next to Eddie at lunch just by luck of the draw. But Eddie was still there laughing harder than anyone else at Richie’s jokes and trying to toss things into Richie’s cup without him noticing, and it still made Richie glow, he still pretended to not notice who was throwing things at him, playing along with Eddie’s innocent shrugs and smiles until he “finally” caught him, which in turn made Eddie burst into giggles that were so precious they made Richie want to cry. And then after lunch Eddie came up to Richie and touched him on the arm, making him jump like he’d touched a hot stove.
“Jesus, you good?” Eddie asked with a confused smile.
“Yeah, must be the static electricity,” Richie said, fumbling over his words, “or the fluorescents.”
Eddie gave him a look, but he was still smiling. “Okay, that was bad, even for you.” Richie gave a small laugh. He felt like he couldn’t breathe. “Do you wanna go to the Auburn to study? This stupid fucking poetry class is melting my brain, so I think you owe me a scone as compensation for making me sign up for it.”
Richie’s heart ached. There was nothing he wanted more than to fuck around with Eddie at one of the too-small tables at their favorite little coffee shop downtown. But then he was looking at Eddie’s lips and the guilt was rising in him again like bile. Or maybe it was actual bile. Richie clicked his tongue. “Sorry, you know I’d love to treat my little muffin to a scone, but I’ve got a paper to write and you know they turn the wifi off Friday to Sunday.”
The disappointment on Eddie’s face made Richie’s chest ache. “Okay, well, I’ll see you tonight then.”
“Wear those panties I like,” he winked, his mouth getting ahead of him as usual. God, Richie wanted to kick himself. And maybe puke. But Eddie left him with a smile and a playful shove, so Richie figured he wasn’t in too much trouble.
Richie, Stan, and Patty had been tasked with getting the pizza that night, so the three of them showed up to Bill and Mike’s after everyone else. Richie’s heart did flips when he saw Eddie lying sprawled across the giant bean bag, just like he always did when he beat Richie to it. He blushed when Eddie met his eyes and beamed, leaping up and bounding over to him. He nearly choked on his tongue when Eddie draped himself over his arm, having to get up on his tiptoes to rest his chin on Richie’s shoulder. Richie instinctively crouched down a bit to accommodate him.
“Did you get barbecue chicken?” Eddie asked, batting his eyes.
“I’m offended you would even have to ask,” Richie grinned as he opened the box. The others were scrambling around the boxes, trying to get slices of their choice, but Richie’s long arms gave him an advantage.
“Will you get me a slice?” Eddie asked.
“And let you get to the Yogibo first? I may be pretty but I’m not stupid.” Richie grinned as he lifted his plate far above Eddie’s head and spun around, finally able to breathe once he no longer had to worry about the electric feeling of Eddie leaning against him.
“You’re gonna regret that, Tozier,” Eddie huffed, but he could never hide his smile.
“Ooh, last names,” Richie grinned as he plopped himself down on the beanbag, fully spread eagle. “I’m scared now.”
Eddie stuck his tongue out at him before ducking under Bill’s arm to get at the pizza he was going for. Richie really tried not to linger on how cute that was.
However, it was becoming quickly apparent that Richie was not going to be able to avoid those thoughts, as well as his less savory ones. As soon as Eddie got his pizza, he was standing over Richie with one hand on his hip. Richie made sure to look at his face and not his thighs, which his movie night sleep shorts left on full display. Richie didn’t dare let himself look down, because right then he was wondering if he’d be able to see up Eddie’s shorts from this angle. God, he bet he could. “I was sitting there,” Eddie groused.
Normally Richie would’ve replied with something crude, would’ve grabbed his crotch with an obnoxious wink and said, “I’ve got a seat all warmed up for you right here, baby.” But now his stomach twisted at that, and when Richie managed to stop himself from saying something he struggled to come up with something else. So all he could manage was a halfheartedly sarcastic, “Here?”
He pointed to what he thought was the beanbag, but Eddie apparently had something else in mind. “Yeah,” he smiled before dropping himself into Richie’s lap with a grace and bounce that left Richie breathless. “Right here.”
Eddie looked so smug, and he was on Richie’s lap, and Richie could feel the situation getting real bad for him real fast. So, setting the slices of pizza aside so as to not earn himself any disappointed looks or lectures from Bill and Mike about respecting and maintaining the cleanliness of their space, he grabbed Eddie by the waist, doing his best to ignore his own rushing blood and the amused look on Eddie’s face. “Alright, short stack, you ever try asking a guy to move over?” With Eddie lifted, Richie scooted over to one side of the bean bag, then plopped Eddie on the other. Richie couldn’t decipher the look Eddie was giving him, but it somehow was making him even hotter under the collar than Eddie sitting in his lap had.
Richie thought he was safe when Eddie huffed and grabbed his pizza, but he barely had three seconds to breathe before Eddie was wriggling his way across the bean bag to press himself against Richie. “You’re taking up the whole thing,” he grumbled as he tucked himself against Richie. Richie could not have been closer to the edge of the bean bag, but he didn’t have the breath in his lungs to say that. Every time he breathed he could smell Eddie’s shampoo, clean and fresh and somewhat minty. Richie shovelled his pizza into his mouth so he wouldn’t have to respond. And to give himself something to do with his arms other than wrapping them around Eddie and pulling him closer.
Richie could not for the life of him focus on the movie. He felt like he was dropping on a rollercoaster, but it had been twenty minutes and the feeling hadn’t stopped. Eddie kept shifting, but never away from him, and Richie was going to lose his mind. Then, Eddie leaned up to whisper something to Richie, and he couldn’t even process what he was saying, just that the feeling of Eddie’s breath warm and soft on his neck was going to make him pop a boner. Eddie’s face was so close to his, and his hand was on Richie’s chest, and Richie couldn’t stop seeing his dreams playing on repeat.
Eddie’s tongue in his mouth.
Eddie’s hands running down from his chest, to his stomach, lower…
Eddie on his knees, Eddie in Richie’s lap, Eddie on top of him, inside—
“Well!” Richie exclaimed, rolling off the Yogibo with the grace of a newborn calf, popping up to the fond annoyance of his friends, “I do say, nature calls, so pip pip and tally-ho, off I must go to the loo.”
“Seriously?” Eddie groaned.
“Hey, you’re the one who’s always telling me to stay hydrated!” Richie retorted. “You’ve only got yourself to blame for this waterfall.” Really? he thought to himself. Yeah, that’s gonna get him to like you. Nice one, dumbass.
“You know you really don’t have to announce that,” Bev snickered, throwing Mike and Ikes at him until he reached the door.
“Alright, alright, tough crowd. Try not to miss me too much.”
He could hear Stan yelling something about not getting lost on his way back as he closed the door, finding himself alone in the hallway of Bill and Mike’s dorm.
God, fuck, he was so fucked. He had to take himself on a walk up and down the hallway just to calm himself down. Eddie made him so hot, like he was burning up. And he’d thought his feelings were messy before he started having the dreams. Eddie whispering to him like that, touching him like that… He knew when he got back in the room that he couldn’t do it. He felt a guilt heavy in his stomach when he plopped down next to Bill, squeezing himself in obnoxiously, but he knew he couldn’t be next to Eddie just then, not without crawling out of his skin.
He ignored the weird look Bill gave him, the weird looks everyone gave him. He ignored the way Eddie kept glancing over at him, looking so small sitting on the bean bag by himself. He ignored the aching in his chest when Eddie asked Ben and Bev to walk him home instead of Richie. He told himself this was better as he walked home alone, that yeah, he missed Eddie’s banter, he missed the sleepy way he would bump into Richie, but it was better this way, better to get some distance and let the dreams peter out. Maybe if he didn’t touch Eddie, maybe if he didn’t see him for a few days he’d get his lips out of his mind, maybe he could forget the way Eddie’s skin felt against his own, and then the dreams would stop. Things could go back to normal if he could just stay away for a bit.
But that night only brought another dream, one filled with moans and giggles and Eddie’s hands and tongue all over him, inside of him. Another dream that had his blood rushing to his cock.
He woke up hard and grinding against his mattress. His mind still lingering in the dream, the sensations still fresh in his mind, warming his skin, Richie rolled over onto his back and desperately shoved his hands down his boxers. He stroked himself tight and fast and came into his fist in under a minute, his toes curling and his breath coming out in gasping moans. It took a minute for his mind to clear. Once it did, his blissful haze shattered pretty abruptly. “Fuck,” he muttered, reaching for the roll of toilet paper on his desk to wipe his hand off with. He tossed the wad at his trash can with way more force than necessary before angrily throwing his sheets and comforter off of himself. He needed a fucking shower. A cold one.
He didn’t get why the fuck this kept happening. Like, fuck, the dreams were amazing, sure. But Eddie was never gonna touch him like that. He could dream and fantasize all he wanted, but that was all he was ever gonna get.
He dodged Saturday brunch, grabbing a cinnamon roll from the dining hall and eating it in his room alone. He ignored Bill’s text asking if he wanted to talk about the night before. He holed up in his room and threw himself into the essay he had to write, hoping that that would be enough to make him forget. But finding quotes didn’t exactly scratch the same itch, and his mind kept drifting to Eddie, always Eddie, whispering in his ear, touching his chest on the bean bag the night before. There was no song he could blast loud enough to get it out of his mind.
It was around three when Richie heard an insistent knocking at his door. He paused the music and groaned, figuring Bill had come by to talk to him. But when he opened the door, Eddie was standing there with his arms crossed. Richie’s heart stopped. “Hey,” he said, “wasn’t expecting you. To what do I owe the pleasure?”
But Eddie was already pushing past him into his room. Richie closed the door; the pout on Eddie’s face made him figure this was about to be a door closed kind of conversation. Which made him want to vomit, but here they were. Eddie took a breath, paused, then finally blurted out, “Did I do something wrong?”
Richie’s head was spinning. “What?”
“You’ve been weird all week.” Shitshitshitshit. “You didn’t wanna study together, you sat next to Bill last night, you haven’t called me Eds in days—” Eddie cut himself, his voice breaking and eyes falling to the floor. Richie’s heart was beating so hard he was pretty sure he’d be able to see bruises on his chest in a few hours. “So, what, are you mad at me? ‘Cause whatever I did, I’m sorry, but I don’t know what I did, I don’t know why you’re avoiding me like this.”
“Eddie,” Richie started, stepping toward him. He reached his hand out, but let it drop. He was so torn. Eddie looked so small, so sad and confused, all Richie wanted to do was scoop him up into his arms and make everything better. But how could he touch him? How could he make this better? How could he explain what was wrong without scaring Eddie off? “Fuck, Eddie, I don’t know what to tell you.”
Apparently that was the wrong thing to say, because Eddie’s eyes started filling with tears. “So, what? You just don’t like me anymore?”
“What? No, fuck no, Eddie, jesus, I love you!” Richie blurted. Every nerve in his body was screaming at him to run out the door, to get the fuck out of there, to not say anything more. But fuck it, he couldn’t see Eddie cry and do nothing. Grossing him out was better than hurting him, right? Eddie didn’t say anything, but he wiped a tear away and stood up a little taller, his eyes wide, urging Richie to go on. Richie took a tentative step closer before deciding against it and leaning against his bed. “Fuck, this is so awkward. Um. So, okay, so I’ve been acting weird.”
“Yeah?” Eddie prompted, turning toward him. He started to move closer, then apparently thought better of it.
“And I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.” Richie ran his hands over his face, pushing his glasses up then readjusting them. “Fuck,” he said with a humorless laugh. “So um. So you’ve kinda been livin’ rent free in my dreams this week.”
Eddie gave him a confused look.
God he was gonna have to spell it out, wasn’t he? “Like…” Richie mimed jerking himself off. Eddie raised his eyebrows. “Like, every fucking night this week.”
“Oh.” Eddie’s cheeks were pink.
“Yeah. So, you know. Kinda makes it hard to be around you knowing I’m such a fucking creep.” Richie gave a sheepish smile.
Eddie gave him a long suffering look.
“Sorry, that was supposed to come out a lot funnier than it sounded—”
“Richie,” Eddie sighed, walking over to him. Richie straightened up, his heart in his throat as Eddie stood right in front of him. “You’re not a creep for having some wet dreams.” He gave him a smile and smacked him playfully on the chest. “I can’t believe that’s the whole reason you’ve been a dick this week.”
“Yeah, but it’s different,” Richie said before he could stop himself, thoughts flooding out on their own.
“Why? Because we’re friends? I mean, sure, maybe every night for a week is kind of a lot, but I can’t say I’m not flattered.” He smiled then, but it softened, and he took Richie’s hand in his, running his thumb comfortingly over Richie’s skin. “I’m definitely not creeped out.”
You have to tell him, Richie’s mind screamed at him. You have to fucking tell him. If you don’t tell him now you never will. “Not just because we’re friends,” he whispered, his voice shaking. He tried to slip his hand out of Eddie’s, but Eddie just held him tighter as he looked into Richie’s eyes, waiting for more of an explanation. “I’m kinda, like… in love with you.” He waved his free hand in a ta-da motion, hoping to god that he could joke his way into making this less painful for both of them. Eddie’s eyes widened, but he didn’t let go, he didn’t move or say anything, and fuck, what was Richie supposed to with that? Fill the fucking silence was his go-to, so he started rambling, but nothing that came out was funny. “So, it’s like, the dreams are shit I’ve thought of, y’know? And I feel really fucking gross, because like, I’d do it. And I didn’t want you to find that out and think that I was taking advantage of you or whatever by letting you cuddle me and shit, because, fuck, when you were whispering to me last night, and pressing against me, I want that, y’know? You were gonna give me a fucking heart attack, and that’s weird, that’s gross, and I didn’t want you to be mad, or to leave me—” He broke on that and had to bite his lip to keep himself from crying.
“Richie,” Eddie sighed, pulling him down into his arms. Richie collected himself as Eddie held him, slowly bringing his arms around Eddie, trying to process what was happening.
“You’re not mad?” he asked as he pulled away. Eddie cupped his face, and Richie couldn’t help but lean into his hand.
“Why would I be mad? All you’ve done is love me back.”
Richie’s eyebrows lifted hopefully. “Back?”
“Yes, back,” Eddie grinned. “I love you, too. I’m in love with you, too.”
“Fuck, for real?”
Eddie giggled and leaned up on his toes, bringing his lips to Richie’s. Richie placed his hands lightly on Eddie’s waist, kissing him back softly, making sure this was all happening, that touching him like this was okay. Once he was sure he wasn’t being pranked, he wrapped his arms around Eddie and pulled him closer, kissing him deeply, hungrily. God, he’d needed this for so many years, but he never could’ve prepared himself for how amazing it would feel. Eddie’s lips were so soft, so intentional with every move, and Richie could feel him smiling as he pulled him closer into him. Eddie’s arms were wrapped around his neck, their chests were pressed together, still Richie needed more, needed him closer. He needed to satiate the years and years of pining.
“God, Eddie, Eds, my love, I love you so much.” He felt breathless and giddy to finally say it.
“I love you, too, Rich,” Eddie beamed, kissing the corner of Richie’s mouth, then his cheek, then his jaw. Richie moaned as Eddie pressed a kiss to the pulse point where Richie’s jaw met his neck and ran his hand over Richie’s chest, just like he had the night before. “So these dreams… what happened in them?” Richie shuddered at how low Eddie’s voice had gotten. “What was I doing in them?”
“Shit, what weren’t you doing?” Richie laughed breathlessly. “Sucking me off on your knees, stroking me and kissing my neck, fingering me, fucking me…”
“Yeah?” Eddie asked, his eyes sparkling. Richie gasped as Eddie’s hand travelled lower, teasing over Richie’s belt. “You want me to fuck you?”
“Fuck, yes.” Richie’s breath trembled over the words. He had to grab the bed behind him to steady himself when Eddie’s palm pressed against Richie’s cock, which was quickly growing hard under his touch. At the same time, Eddie nuzzled his face against Richie’s neck, kissing the sensitive skin there. RIchie couldn’t help but moan and roll his hips into Eddie’s hand. “Eds, fuck…” he groaned. Eddie kept kissing his neck, his lips wet and warm and soft, and he tightened his grip on Richie a bit, the outline of Richie’s hard cock clear through his jeans by this point.
“Is this what you want, baby?” Eddie murmured against his skin. Before Richie could gather himself to respond, Eddie was swiftly dropping to his knees. His brown eyes were wide and full of faux innocence, glittering with mischief as he looked up at Richie. “Is this what you dreamt about?”
“Yes, fuck, oh my god,” Richie whined, his voice thin and already so desperate as Eddie rubbed his face against the tent in Richie’s jeans. “Please, please, will you suck me, baby?”
“Wow, you’re so polite when you’re turned on,” Eddie mused. Then, with a wink, “I’ll keep that in mind.” God, Richie was excited to find out what Eddie meant by that, but for now he was fully occupied with watching Eddie undo his belt, then the button on his jeans, then his zipper. Richie got with the program as Eddie tugged his jeans down and stripped his shirt off, tossing it aside as he stepped out of his jeans, leaving him in his boxer briefs. He giggled at the exasperated look on Eddie’s face. “Where the fuck did you find Hello Kitty boxers?”
“What, like it’s hard?” Richie said. “You can find anything on the internet, my love.”
Eddie shook his head, but he was smiling. “I really love you,” he sighed, leaning in and pressing kisses to Richie’s stomach. He took his time trailing his lips down. “God, you’re so hot,” Eddie murmured against his skin, nuzzling into the patch of dark hair just above his waistband. “Every time your fucking shirt rides up I get half hard, can’t believe I’m finally getting my mouth on you.” Richie cursed as Eddie ran his lips over the outline of Richie’s cock.
“Fuck, Eds, please.” Richie had one hand still supporting himself on his bed, but the other was now in Eddie’s hair. “I need you so fucking bad.” Richie felt his breath being knocked out of his chest when Eddie looked up and met his gaze as he sucked on the head of his cock through the fabric. But this time it was a fun breathlessness, the best kind of breathlessness. Feeling himself leaking, his cock throbbing, Richie let out another, “Eddie baby, please,” genuinely whining.
Eddie gave him a satisfied grin as he finally pulled Richie’s boxers down and let his cock bob up against his stomach. “Fuck, you have such a nice cock,” Eddie marvelled. Richie gasped as Eddie wrapped his fingers around him, stroking him. “Did you touch yourself after your dreams? Did you make yourself come while thinking about me?” Richie couldn’t believe Eddie, his Eddie Kaspbrak was talking to him like this. It made his head spin.
“Yes, oh fuck,” Richie groaned as Eddie lapped at the head of his cock, his tongue all pink and warm and wet. He pressed it flat against the base of Richie’s shaft and licked him all the way to the tip, never breaking eye contact as he did. “God, it feels so much better when you do it.”
“I know, baby,” Eddie purred. Richie let out a strangled moan as Eddie tongued at the sensitive bundle of nerves under the head of Richie’s cock. “Gonna make you feel so good.”
Richie had barely gotten out another, “Please,” when Eddie wrapped his lips around him and bobbed his head forward. Taking him in his mouth. Sucking on the head, making his knees shake. “Eds, fuck, oh my god,” Richie moaned. His eyes fluttered shut as Eddie took him further down his throat, but he didn’t wanna miss this. He’d already messed up Eddie’s hair, and his cheeks were pink and hollowed as he ran his tongue along Richie’s shaft, as he moved his lips over him. Eddie looked him in the eyes as he slid off with a popping sound, clearly happy with himself as he swirled his tongue around the head of Richie’s cock. To Eddie’s credit, the triumphant smirk was well-earned; Richie was already a whimpering mess, his knees trembling. “Eds, want you, please.”
“What do you want, baby?” Eddie asked. His voice was soft as he covered Richie’s cock in kisses that were so sweet in the filthiest way.
“Wanna touch you,” Richie breathed. “Please, I need to feel you.”
Eddie groaned and pressed one more heated, sloppy kiss to Richie’s hip before standing up and bringing their lips together. Richie leaned into it, happily pliant in Eddie’s hands. He was still chasing the feeling of Eddie’s lips against his own when Eddie pulled back to pull his shirt off over his head.
“Oh fuck,” Richie muttered, staring at Eddie’s chest. Richie’s entire body burned as he drank in Eddie’s skin, the toned muscles underneath. Was he really allowed to look at him like this? Was he really allowed to let his gaze linger as long as he wanted?
His hesitation must have shown on his face. Softly, Eddie said, “Touch me.”
“Don’t have to tell me twice,” Richie joked, but his voice shook, and his movements were slow as he brought his hands to Eddie’s chest, sliding them down to his waist and pulling him in. He saw Eddie grin, then felt it against his lips. Richie melted into it. God, Eddie’s chest felt so nice pressed against his own. He was so warm, his heartbeat right against Richie’s. As much as Richie’s heart was racing, he felt so incredibly safe. And that safety and warmth flooded into heat as Eddie shifted Richie’s hands down, guiding them to his belt. “Fuck,” Richie shuddered, fumbling to undo Eddie’s belt. He couldn’t get his hands to stop shaking.
“I got it,” Eddie giggled, gently pushing Richie’s hands away. Richie watched in awe as Eddie rid himself of his jeans, leaving himself in tented Calvin Klein boxer briefs.
The fumbling and giggling actually helped Richie relax—enough to laugh as he pressed his lips to Eddie’s neck and palmed him through the black fabric. “You are such a brand whore.”
“Fuck you,” Eddie laughed breathlessly, bucking into Richie’s touch.
“Oh, you better, Mr. Gucci,” Richie winked. Eddie shook his head and brought his lips to Richie’s. He slid one hand down and took a hold of Richie’s wrist, guiding his movements.
“Don’t worry, baby, we’ll get there.” Richie groaned at the low tone in Eddie’s voice; he had no idea he could sound like that. He dipped his hand past Eddie’s waistband and wrapped his hand around Eddie’s cock, unable to wait any longer. He moaned as soon as he felt him, his cock hard and smooth and warm in his hand. Kissing his neck, he stroked Eddie slowly, running his fingers over him. “Fuck, that feels so good,” Eddie moaned. “Just like that, baby, yes, fuck.” While Eddie pushed his boxers down and stepped out of them, Richie spit into his palm, wrapping it around Eddie’s cock as soon as he was ready, getting it wet. They both groaned at the slick, smooth way Richie’s hand slid over Eddie. Richie’s chest bloomed with warmth as Eddie leaned forward and pressed his forehead against Richie’s shoulder, pressing kisses to Richie’s chest.
“You are so fucking hot,” Richie said, pressing kisses to Eddie’s hair. Then, feeling emboldened by the way Eddie moaned and rocked his hips into his fist, he continued, “Can’t fucking wait to feel you inside of me.”
“Fuck, I love you,” Eddie groaned. He pulled Richie into him, kissing him deeply, messily, desperately. Stroking him faster, Richie kissed back, matching his passion. “Oh my god, fuck, Richie, get on the bed.”
“Holy shit, yeah, okay,” Richie breathed, scrambling to do as Eddie said. At first he sat up, unsure where to put himself. But Eddie made it clear what he wanted as he climbed between Richie’s legs and pressed his hand against Richie’s chest, guiding him to lie back. With the way Eddie draped himself over Richie’s body and brought their lips together, running his hands over Richie’s thighs, he really truly could not believe this was his life. He moaned into Eddie’s mouth as their cocks rubbed together. “I love you,” he panted as Eddie kissed down his neck. “I’ve wanted this for so long.”
Eddie looked up at him and gave him a smile, pressing a kiss to his lips, one much softer than his previous ones. “So have I.”. Running his hands appreciatively over Richie’s body, he asked, “You sure about this?”
“Fuck yes,” Richie said, nodding enthusiastically.
Eddie giggled and kissed him again. “Do you have lube and condoms?”
“Top drawer of my desk.” As Eddie leaned over to grab them, Richie said, “God, this is actually happening, wow, okay, fuck. I’m clean by the way, like STD-free and everything, and also in the shower earlier—”
“Hey.” Richie shut up as Eddie stroked his hair. “Relax, okay? I’m gonna take care of you. I won’t do anything you don’t want me to do.” Richie nodded, but that wasn’t why he’d been rambling. Luckily, Eddie knew him, and he pressed a slow, deliberate kiss to Richie’s lips and told him, “You’re my best friend, you know that?” Richie let out a small breath as Eddie kissed the corner of his mouth, then his jaw, then his chest. “You are so gorgeous.”
Richie grinned. “So what you’re saying is you only like me because I’m hot?”
Eddie rolled his eyes. “Yes.” He cut off any response by spreading Richie’s legs.
“Oh, fuck,” Richie moaned, happily going where Eddie guided him. The satisfied smirk on Eddie’s face made Richie glow.
He watched, enraptured, as Eddie poured the lube onto his fingers and spread it around. He watched Eddie’s eyes track his own movements as he brought his fingers down between Richie’s legs before looking up at him. “You ready?”
“Hell yeah,” Richie said, his grin wobbly from how breathless Eddie already had him. Eddie snickered at that before circling Richie’s entrance and slowly pressing his finger inside of him. Richie gasped, his head falling back to the pillow with a broken moan. He tensed at first, but soon relaxed as he felt Eddie work him open.
“You look so good,” Eddie murmured, almost as if to himself. It made Richie blush. He really wants this, he thought to himself, He really wants me. He settled comfortably into that reassurance as Eddie pressed kisses to Richie’s thighs and hips as he worked him open, thrusting his finger in and out gently. When Richie began rocking his hips with Eddie’s movements, seeking more, Eddie complied and thrust into him faster, soon adding a second finger. Richie moaned at the stretch and spread his legs wider. “Do you like that?” Eddie asked.
Richie could tell from his voice that he knew the answer. Still, he breathed a blissed out, “Yes,” and groaned as Eddie thrust even deeper inside of him. It felt so amazing, Eddie’s fingers filling him up, sliding in and out of him. Just as he was settling into the rhythm, his mind pleasantly warm and fuzzy, Eddie curled his fingers, sending waves of electric pleasure through Richie. “Oh my fuck—” Richie cried, arching off the bed. He twisted his fingers in the sheets as Eddie’s fingers continued to graze over his prostate, making him buzz, the pleasure so deep and so intense.
And Eddie had the nerve to fucking giggle. “What? Does that feel good?”
“God, yes, yes, oh my god, oh my fucking god, fuck,” Richie answered, his words a string of broken whimpers. As he continued massaging that sweet spot, Eddie leaned forward and licked a stripe up the underside of Richie’s cock, making him practically scream. “Eds! Fuck, fuck, not gonna—shit oh my god, I’m not gonna last if you keep doing that.”
Eddie looked up at him, feigning innocence. “You want me to stop?” Richie was so conflicted as Eddie licked the tip of his cock in short, light strokes, making his cock throb as he lapped up the precome dripping down the head. It was fucking heaven, but he knew he wouldn’t be able to hold out if Eddie kept going, and he needed to feel Eddie inside of him. So, reluctantly, he nodded. “Why? What do you want?”
“God, fuck me, please,” Richie whined, shamelessly impatient and petulant.
“Fuck, that’s hot,” Eddie said. He pressed slow kisses to Richie’s hip as he slowly pulled his fingers out. Richie sat up on his elbows to watch as Eddie rolled the condom onto his cock.
“Now that’s hot,” Richie said as Eddie poured lube onto his cock and stroked it, spreading the lube around. Eddie grinned and leaned down to kiss him. Richie ran his fingers through Eddie’s hair, holding him close a moment, really feeling his lips, the way he kissed him. He melted when Eddie pulled back and nuzzled his nose against Richie’s. He straightened up a bit then and lined his cock up with Richie’s hole. Eddie gently took Richie’s chin in his hands, guiding his gaze up to meet his.
“Are you ready?”
Looking into Eddie’s eyes, warm and brown and more familiar than the back of his own hand, Richie had never been more ready for anything in his life. “Eddie, my love, I’ve been ready for this for years.” His voice was soft as he reached out and stroked Eddie’s arm. “I am so in love with you and so, so, very horny.”
“Richie,” Eddie sighed, an exasperated but amused grin on his face. “I love you, too.” Any other words Richie might’ve said died on his tongue as he felt the head of Eddie’s cock begin to stretch him open. He held Richie’s hips still with one hand and intertwined his fingers with Richie’s with the other. “Tell me if it’s too much, or if there’s anything you don’t like, okay?” Richie nodded, squeezing Eddie’s hand. He took a deep breath as Eddie moved his hips forward, going slow, letting Richie adjust. He needed a few moments to even out his breathing and get used to the sensation; as amazing as it felt, it was a lot. Soon, however, he was pressing his lips to Eddie’s knuckles and asking him to move. He gasped as Eddie pulled his hips back, but all of the tension flowed out of his body as Eddie pushed back in. It felt so natural, having Eddie inside of him, being connected like this. He could feel every nerve in his body sighing out a finally. “How does it feel?” Eddie asked. His voice was soft as he slowly, shallowly rocked his hips.
With a lovestruck grin on his face, Richie answered, “Perfect.”
A look crossed Eddie’s face then, one full of love and overflowing feelings. Richie only had a second to commit it to memory before Eddie leaned down and kissed him, kissed him like he wanted to press all of those feelings into Richie’s lips to make him understand them. Richie had a feeling he would never forget what Eddie looked like in that moment, how it felt when he kissed him like that.
He whimpered when he felt Eddie tease his tongue over his, somehow gentle and so, so dirty at the same time. Eddie groaned and leaned in further, deepening the kiss and pressing his cock even deeper into Richie. Richie moaned at how good that felt; it was so much, almost too much, but he needed more. He rolled his hips as Eddie kissed him, pressing small moans into Eddie’s mouth every time his cock brushed against Eddie’s toned stomach. Searching for something to hold onto, something to ground him, his hands ran up and down Eddie’s back, gripped at his shoulders. It felt so amazing to have him so close, to be able to linger and really appreciate the feeling of Eddie’s soft, warm skin under his hands. “I’ve wanted to hear you moan like that for me for so long,” Eddie murmured, kissing along Richie’s neck, making him shudder.
“Feels so good,” Richie breathed, his ability to string a complete sentence together already faltering.
“Yeah?” Eddie said, smirk evident in his voice. Richie moaned and threw his head back as Eddie picked up the pace of his thrusts. Hands sliding down to Richie’s hips, holding him up a bit as he fucked him harder, Eddie told him, “Fuck, you look so good like this. You feel so amazing.” Richie’s skin burned under the praise. He went to cover his face with his arm, not used to being complimented like that, but Eddie caught him by the arm and brought his lips to the inside of Richie’s wrist. He couldn’t believe how good such a simple touch felt. It had him bucking his hips into the air, his cock begging for attention as pleasure bloomed deep inside of him. It had him whimpering for more.
“Harder,” he begged. “Please, please fuck me.” With a hungry look, Eddie leaned over and pinned Richie’s wrist above his head and began fucking Richie hard and deep and fast, just like he’d asked for. Richie’s eyes went wide as he let out a broken, “Yes.” He threw his head back and screwed his eyes shut, really feeling every thrust. Eddie was fucking him so good, filling his room with the sound of skin on skin and Richie’s desperate moans of yesyesyesrightthereohfuckyesyesfuckyes. As he opened his eyes to find Eddie’s hooded and trained on his face, Richie couldn’t help but let out a dreamy, “I love you.”
Eddie groaned and pressed himself against Richie, chest to chest, his face buried in Richie’s neck. “I love you so much.” Richie wrapped his arms and legs around Eddie and held him tight. Eddie rolled his hips, burying his cock so deep inside Richie before pounding into him hard and fast again. With the way Eddie was fucking him, Richie’s cock sliding between them where they pressed against one another, Richie was getting close fast. It was all so much in the best way. He buried his face in Eddie’s shoulder, biting down. His muffled moans were punctuated by every thrust. He raked his nails down Eddie’s back as he felt his pleasure building, coiling within him. He was right on the edge, and he wanted to live in that intensity forever. Sinking further into his desperate haze, he rocked his hips, making his cock throb.
“Eds,” he panted, throwing his head back, “‘m close, fuck, oh my god, I’m so close.”
Eddie sat up then, and Richie let his legs fall back to the bed, spread open wide. He cried out when Eddie wrapped his hand around Richie’s cock. He arched into Eddie’s touch, his hands gripping the sheets tight. “Come for me, baby,” Eddie moaned. “Fuck, I’m so close too, wanna watch you come on my cock.”
“Oh, fuck!” Richie cried. “I’m coming, I’m coming, fuck, fuck, yes,” he moaned, his eyes screwed shut and words slurring into moans as he came, his pleasure crashing over him like a wave, engulfing him entirely. All he could feel, all he could think was Eddie. Eddie, inside of him, touching him, making him feel like this. It made it so much better than it had ever felt, knowing it was Eddie holding him, that it was his Eddie looking at him, fucking into him, telling him:
“Rich, baby, I’m coming.” Richie was still catching his breath and coming down when he felt Eddie still his hips, burying his face in his neck, biting down and sucking hard as he groaned and gasped. Richie held him and stroked his hair as he came, barely believing he was making Eddie make those noises, that he made Eddie shake like that. Once he felt Eddie relax against him, pressing light kisses to Richie’s skin, Richie held him tight and buried his face in his hair.
“Fuck,” he laughed, kissing Eddie wherever he could reach.
“Yeah,” Eddie agreed breathlessly. “That was… wow, that was amazing.” He rearranged himself so his head rested on Richie’s chest and smiled up at him.
“Tell me about it.” Richie kissed his nose, then delighted in the adorable way Eddie scrunched up his face.
Eddie’s eyes searched Richie’s for a moment before he said softly, “I really love you. A lot.”
Richie melted; for a second he thought he might actually cry. “Eds, you’re the fucking light of my life,” he said, barely able to finish his sentence before he was bringing his lips to Eddie’s. “I love you so much.” He knew in that moment that he would never get tired of feeling Eddie smiling against his lips.
Eddie pressed a kiss to Richie’s cheek before saying, “I’m gonna pull out, okay?” He giggled when Richie whined.
“Just a little longer?” he pouted. Eddie kissed it right away.
“As long as you want. I could stay like this forever.”
Richie snuggled into him, taking a moment to bask in the glow before saying, his voice smug and full of love, “I knew you’ve always liked it when I call you Eds.”
“Oh, fuck off,” Eddie giggled before attacking Richie with kisses.

OH MY GOD IT HAS BEEN SO LONG SINCE I’VE POSTED AND I’M SO SORRY BUT GUESS WHAAAAAAT
⚠️this talks about canon events but is changed a little bit to fit more into reddie so if you don’t want to read that this is your warning it doesn’t strictly follow canon i absolutely changed things up⚠️
The next days went by quick, Beverly was leaving, Eddie had gotten a new Walkman and all he played was fucking Footloose—that fucking dork, Richie would complain about Eddie enjoying it but walking into the clubhouse to see Eddie lip synching to “Let’s Hear it For the Boy” was all worth it up until him and Eddie raced for the hammock. They ended up sharing. That wants important though, okay Richie thought it was, but the fact that they had cut their hands open and swapped blood should have been more important...oddly enough it wasn’t. Richie was a teenager in love. The next few years were quick, the losers slowly leaving their town until it was just Richie, Mike and Eddie left. Out of the three of them Richie had left first, obviously Mike had stayed up until he was 40, it was a teary goodbye with the promise of calling them from Chicago. There never were any calls no matter how long Eddie and Mike had waited. Eddie had gone to set out on his own venture a year later, he told Mike he would be back, he just had to go kick Richie’s ass for no calls. Eddie forgot all about Derry. Now Mike was the only loser there, it was 1999 and he was there all alone, all of his friend’s promises of coming back were never fulfilled. It was gut wrenching.
It’s been 27 years now since It happened, Richie still remembered Bill taking Georgie’s raincoat with them, it hadn’t failed to keep him confused as soon as he remembered but he was more focused on other people. Like what the fuck? Everyone just decided to get hot over the next 30 years? That’s not fucking fair. Richie had been alone all of those years, learning to shrink himself up to take up less room, hunch himself over, keep his hands in his pockets, he learned how to be loud but not enough to draw too much attention he didn’t need anyone psychoanalyzing him and figuring out he was gay. That was the last thing he wanted. His shirt pallets weren’t what he really wanted, they were dull or dimmed down colors. He wanted to have brighter ones—but then people might start to suspect, he’ll that was the whole reason why he had someone else writing his jokes. Richie knew they were shitty, anyone can get a fucking dick joke for free, he hated the comedy he had produced but he couldn’t let anyone figure out, let alone think he’s gay. Being around the losers helped though, except Edward Kaspbrak who just had to be hot and apparently no one was going to give Richie the memo that Eddie had muscles underneath baggy clothes! What?!
It had only been a couple of days, each loser had gotten their tokens, all except for Stanley. Stanley was dead. Richie felt awful for the things he had said about him, he didn’t know he had died he wouldn’t have called him Stanley “Urine” or called him a pussy if he had known that. Stan was his best friend and he was dead, Richie didn’t get a goodbye really, he got one 20-something years ago but it wasn’t the one he wanted. (He would later go on to go visit Patty, Stan’s wife, he found out what he was like when he was older and he filled her in on what he was like as a kid since Stanley could never remember, he never said anything about the clown though.)
But there they were. Richie had gotten caught in the deadlights, he already lost Stan he couldn’t lose Mike too he would save his friends as many times as he needed to. Maybe a few jokes about being Mike’s knight in shining armor because of having to save him two times on this trip but that wouldn’t be until after this was over with. He couldn’t remember what he had seen in the deadlights, he was ripped out of them quickly, only moments later he woke up to find Eddie on top of him. Richie was dazed though, did Eddie kiss him? He was on top of Richie, that was how Ben had gotten Beverly out when they were younger, he had to of. Oh god Eddie Kaspbrak had kissed him. Eddie didn’t really kiss him though, Richie didn’t know that until after everything. Eddie looked so proud though, talking about how right Richie was and that he had did it, Richie’s hand was carefully and shakily reaching up to pull him down into a kiss but before he could Eddie was stabbed. Right in the middle of his lower chest and upper abdomen, blood had sputtered into Richie’s glasses and all he could hear was Eddie whimpering his name and screams. He could place his name on who’s but they were there.
And now Eddie was propped up against a rock, he had given a frantic explanation on how he had made It feel small abs weak when he went to get his inhaler earlier. The other losers went of to go harass the clown, Richie stayed with Eddie, he couldn’t let him die all alone down there, he couldn’t let Eddie die like that Eddie hated gross places especially that fucking sewer. Richie had taken off his bomber jacket and put it on Eddie’s wound, Eddie weakly holing it down while Richie’s press was firmer, his hand on top of Eddie’s. You’d think Eddie would be the sobbing mess that was blabbering, but he wasn’t, Eddie was surprisingly calm. Richie wasn’t though. Richie was crying—he didn’t care anymore, sobs broke through while he was frantically telling Eddie that he would be okay. Once the others are done they would take him to the hospital and he’d be safe, if he had lasted this long a little longer wouldn’t hurt, Eddie was strong enough to keep fighting. Eddie was fairly quiet just listening to Richie through broken sobs, tears were in his eyes as he looked at the heartbroken man in front of him but he didn’t let a single one fall
Eddie’s shaky hand slowly moved to cup Richie’s cheek and cupped it gently, the larger of the two had immediately looked at him as soon as he felt his hand, Eddie shook his head a little bit. They both knew he wouldn’t make it out of there. “Rich...” Eddie finally spoke, his voice quiet. It was so odd for him to sound this quiet, Eddie was usually so damn loud.
“Yeah—yeah what is it, Eds?” Richie asked quickly, his voice still shaky as his freehand was gently placed on Eddie’s. He was afraid of losing any moments with the love of his life.
Eddie carefully guided Richie closer, their foreheads now pressed together, Eddie wiping the tears from Richie’s cheek and looked into his eyes. Richie’s eyes hadn’t left Eddie’s since his cheek was cupped. “I love you.” He whispered. Eddie wasn’t sure if Richie had any feelings for him, at least he had gotten to do something he had always wanted to do, even if Eddie was rejected he could die knowing that he didn’t have that as a regret.
Richie could feel his chest cave in, he loved Eddie too, he loved him more than anything else in the world but learning that Eddie loved him too right before he was about to die hurt. He knew he wouldn’t make it, Richie wanted Eddie to live though. Even if Richie wasn’t able to live he’d give anything for Eddie to have a chance to get the life he always wanted. Richie moved his forehead from Eddie’s and pressed a soft kiss to his lips, Eddie had returned it. “I love you too.” He confessed with a shaky breath. The life was starting to drain from Eddie’s eyes quicker than before.
“I’m sorry it took so long.” Eddie mumbled quietly and Richie shook his head immediately after those words were uttered.
“Don’t. Don’t you dare apologize. They’re—they’re almost done over there I can tell they are you just have to hang on for a little bit longer. You’re doing fucking amazing just hold on a little bit longer.” Richie spoke frantically, looking into the man he loves eyes. There was nothing left of those big puppy brown eyes. They were gone, lifeless, there was nothing to it. Richie held onto his hand more and lightly shook his shoulder, desperately trying to get Eddie to wake up. It was too late though. After a few more minutes of Richie babbling to him about how much he loved him, begging for him to come back, he had to go. The others weren’t getting much ground on the clown and oh god was Richie pissed off.
Eddie died happily though, well kind of happy, Richie loved him back. He had spent so long thinking he was stupid for hoping that he would and Richie did. He did love him back. He did go out the way he had always hoped he would—not the evil clown that ate kids and feasted off their fear. But the saving his friends part was what he had always wanted. Eddie Kaspbrak was a lover. He would always be remembered as one.
After the second battle with It, Richie understood why Bill had kept Georgie’s raincoat. It wasn’t a reminder of Eddie’s death, well it did, but it was more so a reminder of the life that he had lived, the love he had given to people, all of the screaming insults thrown at New York drivers, every memory that Richie and Eddie had discussed. He had gotten one of Eddie’s hoodies that was in his plethora of luggage. Richie wouldn’t ever fully move on from the love of his life but knowing Eddie gave him the confidence to be braver, he came out to his audience, stopped slouching so much, he didn’t have as much faux happiness. He would always mourn over Eddie and maybe just end up on a couple of dates here and there, none of them could beat his first love though. His progress was slow, slower than anything else it felt like it took him years to finally open up more, but that didn’t stop him from pushing himself.

a kiss discretely, reddie ❤️
13. [a kiss] discreetly. (from this list)
ANYTHING FOR YOU MY LOVE XOXO
*waves a magic wand* eddie and also stan survived and they kicked the fuck out of the clown and won because uh *spins wheel* i said so
also uh this got way out of hand before we even got to the kiss major whoops on my part ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
*
Listen, Eddie’s a risk analyst, so he understands when something is a bad fucking idea.
He knows the facts: he quite literally just finalized his divorce, he’s still in physical therapy and has a long way to go, he’s got a whole childhood’s worth of repressed memories that he now needs to work out in therapy, and up until three months ago he wasn’t even able to think about standing up without crying.
So, logically, he knows he should probably deal with one or two or all of those things before he starts a new relationship. Logically.
Logic goes out the fucking window, though, the second Eddie looked up one day at Richie and realized he’d been in love with him ever since they were kids.
Really, his only probable next step was to grab a fistful of Richie’s shirt and tug him down into a kiss they’d both been waiting for forever.
Lucky for Eddie, Richie is really easy to persuade after one or two or a hundred kisses, which is why it takes approximately two seconds after Eddie timidly asks, “Is it okay if we don’t tell anyone about this just yet? Just for a little bit?” for Richie to nod and sag his shoulders in relief as he ducks down to kiss Eddie again and again.
If Eddie’s being completely honest, he’s shocked they’ve managed to keep it a secret for so long.
Things just keep coming up.
Stan and Patty announce that they’re finally gonna have a baby, and what are Richie and Eddie supposed to do, steal their thunder? Then Bill announces his own divorce and really, it doesn’t come as a surprise, but Richie and Eddie certainly can’t rub their happiness in his face, it would be rude. They’ve finally reached a quiet point, about a month into… whatever this is when all their friends have stopped having big news, but the day they decide to text the group chat is the literal exact same day that Bev and Ben announce they’re getting married over the weekend and everyone is expected to be in attendance.
And Eddie is happy for his friends, genuinely, he’s not that big of an asshole, but the whole thing is really inconvenient for him and it honestly just gets worse when he catches sight of Richie in his best man’s tux. Eddie can’t exactly jump Richie at the wedding, so, again. Inconvenient.
Richie’s delighted laughter when Eddie flushes red at the sight of him then turns on his heel to leave the room will echo in Eddie’s ears for many years to come, however, and it almost makes it worth it.
“Dance with me,” Richie murmurs against the shell of Eddie’s ear, a few songs after Beverly and Ben’s first dance, when everyone else is on the dance floor and no one is sparing them a second glance.
“That’s not exactly discreet, Rich,” Eddie reminds him.
But Richie just laughs and twines his fingers with Eddie’s to tug him forward. “Everyone else is dancing, it would look weird if we didn’t join,” Richie says. “Plus it’s an upbeat song, so. Logistically speaking, we’re fine.”
Eddie can’t help the laugh that bubbles out of him. “You’re not using that word right.”
“Ooh, please teach me more about logistics, Eds, it really gets me going,” Richie croons. He spins Eddie around dramatically when they both make it onto the dance floor, ridiculous and charming as ever.
“I hate you,” Eddie sighs, but it doesn’t take much convincing to get him to move across the floor with Richie in exceedingly ridiculous ways. He’s sure his feelings are written clearly across his face for anyone to see, but for once Eddie doesn’t really care.
The song changes to a slow one, and before Eddie can even really understand it, Richie is wrapping his arms around Eddie’s waist and turning him slowly. It’s only natural for Eddie’s hands to fall onto Richie’s shoulders, even with those infuriating four inches of height that Richie’s got on him.
He raises an eyebrow when Richie catches his gaze.
“Bev and Ben haven’t looked away from one another, like, at all tonight,” Richie murmurs. “No one is gonna be looking at us.”
Eddie ducks his face into Richie’s neck to hide his grin. It strikes him right below his chest, sometimes, how romantic Richie can be without even trying. He thinks he could live in this moment forever and they’d both be just fine.
“You know, a lot of relationships start at weddings,” Eddie says conversationally. “Wouldn’t be much of a stretch for our friends to assume this is when we got together.”
He can feel the rumble of Richie’s laughter from where they’re pressed chest to chest. “Edward Kaspbrak, are you suggesting that we lie to our friends and tell them that this was the night I finally convinced you to be my boyfriend? Has the last month meant nothing to you?”
Eddie’s certain his grin would be enough to light up this whole venue if the power were to go out right now. He raises his head and looks Richie in the eye. “Boyfriend?” he repeats.
“What are you, twelve?” Richie asks. “Are we not dating?”
Eddie thinks he’s happy enough that he could burst into flames right now, everyone else be damned. “You’ve never called me that before, god forbid if I’m a little excited to hear it. Jesus Christ.”
“What do you want me to call you?” Richie asks, and his laughter is bubbly and bright when Eddie groans. “No, seriously, what else would I call you? My lover? The stars in my sky? My fiancé? My angel of the morning? I could pull a Stanley and call you my babylove.”
“Fiancé?” Eddie repeats, incredulous. “We’ve been together for a month, Richie.”
“I believe it’s called u-hauling in the gay community, Eduardo, learn your terminology.”
“I hate you,” Eddie sighs.
Richie lifts a hand and brushes his thumb along Eddie’s jaw. “I love you,” he says seriously, like it’s not the first time he’s said it out loud to Eddie. Like he’s said it a thousand times before.
“Did you seriously just say that for the first time at our best friends’ wedding?” Eddie asks. “Are you serious right now? What happened to us not wanting to take the spotlight away from our friends, Richie! This is why we’ve kept our mouths shut for a month!”
“Yeesh, you don’t have to say it back, I just needed to get it off my chest, god damn.”
“Of course I love you,” Eddie tells him. “I’ve been in love with you for eons. I wouldn’t have kissed you a month ago if I wasn’t so in love with you I thought I was gonna stop breathing if I didn’t kiss you. You’re it for me, asshole. Past, present, and future. Of course I love you.”
“Of course,” Richie repeats. His voice is faint; he looks a little shell-shocked.
Eddie softens. There’s a curl at the base of Richie’s neck that he tugs on affectionately. “I’m sorry if I ever did anything to make you think I didn’t love you so much it was eating me alive,” he says.
Richie laughs, startled. Bright. In love. Eddie wants to kiss him senseless. “God, it’s really fucking obnoxious that I can’t kiss you right now.”
“I was literally just thinking the same thing,” Eddie says. He takes a quick glance around the room. No one is looking at them, and even if they were, Eddie isn’t sure he’d even care. He presses up on his toes and captures Richie’s mouth in a brief, tender kiss.
Richie’s smiling before he even pulls away.
“That was pretty sneaky, 007,” Richie tells him. “I think we should give it another go.”
“Don’t push your luck,” Eddie warns.
Richie pulls him impossibly closer. “Oh, baby, all my luck got put towards making you fall in love with me, I don’t have any left. And hell, I don’t need it.”
“You’re so cheesy,” Eddie whines, but he tightens his grip around Richie’s neck anyway. The song is coming to a close and he knows they don’t have much time left, but he’ll be damned if he doesn’t enjoy this for all it’s worth.
“It’s a wedding, it’s supposed to be cheesy,” Richie argues.
Eddie kisses Richie’s throat, the closest spot he can reach. Since he knows no one can see it. Since he knows that Richie loves him back.

No longer just the two of us
Pairing: Eddie Kaspbrak x Richie Tozier
Summary:
That night, after washing dishes and getting showers, Richie was crawling into bed. Eddie was already fast asleep due to the stress he’s been through. Richie leaned down, smacking a kiss to Eddie’s cheek before he pulled Eddie back against his chest. He loved being the big spoon because having Eddie in his arms made all the struggles he’s faced worth it.
Eddie immediately turned around in his arms before burying his face into Richie’s chest, causing Richie’s face to flush red. He smiles before leaning forward and pressing his lips to Eddie’s forehead before placing another one on his temple.
“You are going to be the best fucking dad.” He whispered against Eddie’s temple before his eyes fluttered shut, and sleep consumed him.
Edward Kaspbrak was not a man of subtlety. He’s been mentioning facts about children for a long as Richie could remember, and that was long before they began to date. It probably stemmed from the fact that he wanted to prove everyone wrong and become something so much better than whatever his mother did. So, with that in mind, Richie set off to find someone who would be willing to let them adopt a child or something along the lines.
The soon-to-be-famous comedian scraped up all the money that he had and pushed it into a savings account to find them a child. There was only one person he told, and that was Beverly. For more than one reason, of course. Firstly, because he couldn’t keep such a secret to himself, and secondly, she’d somehow find out, besides he wanted it to be a surprise for Eddie.
With over thirty failed adoptions,  Richie was holding out hope against hope that someone would look at this couple and see how amazing Eddie is so he could let them adopt a child.
Finally, his prayer had been answered. He was sitting on their bed, biting at the skin around his nails, a nervous tick he had picked up from his mother.
“Please, you don’t understand… I know we’re a little young, but I swear to God… Eddie would make the most amazing dad. I mean, he’s already there… Me? I’m still learning, but with him, I know that I will do my best… But he’s just a father without a kid… and I can’t give him a child, and it kills all the time knowing that I can’t do that for him. I know that it’s a long shot, but please, please just look inside your heart and see that we would be perfect for this child.” He begged, feeling tears burn at his water lines.
He felt so defeated right now, not wanting to hear another ‘I’m sorry’ for as long as he lived. He could feel his chest collapsing and the hope he held inside of him burning out, leaving him charred and broken to pieces.
“Okay, how about I meet you and your husband tomorrow to discuss coming to the ultrasounds?” The woman asked quietly as Richie’s eyes snapped open from shock.
“Are--Are you serious?” He felt his hands begin to shake from the happiness bubbling inside of him.
“Yeah, maybe at the Davis’ Diner on fourth street? Say around three?” She questioned, causing him to nod as if she could see him.
“Yes! Yes, thank you so much. We’ll see you then.” He chuckles softly before hanging up the phone. He held it against his chest, trying to calm the thundering beat of his heart as he leaned back in his chair.
He glanced up towards the room they all have dubbed as ‘Eddie’s study,’ and typing away at his computer was Eddie; he was working on a project for his new job as a risk analyst. Richie’s eyes softened at the tension on the poor man’s shoulders from his workload.
“Hey Eds, I got dinner almost finished. You hungry?” He asked, walking over to Eddie. He took a glance at the mirror in the hallway, checking to make sure his eyes were puffy or red from crying. Thankfully, he was okay.
He smacked a kiss to the top of Eddie’s head before looking over the words displayed on the screen when Eddie finally sighed and sat back in his chair.
“Yeah, I’ll be out in a moment,” Eddie promised softly, not taking his eyes away from his work, which made Richie pout.
“You’ve been working hard on this. You need a break before you melt out that poor overworked brain of yours,” He teased lightheartedly, earning a scowl from Eddie.
His mouth opened to protest Richie’s words, possibly with a resort of a few colorful words when he cut himself off. Richie’s long, bony fingers began digging into the knots that have made themselves a home in Eddie’s shoulder blades.
Eddie’s eyes fluttered shut as a moan of pain escaped passed his lips before leaning his cheek against Richie’s forearms. He shivered at the hot relief that coursed through his body while Richie continued to work out the kinks in his muscles.
“See, look at that. You’re tighter than your mom’s--” Whatever he was going to save was cut off by a swift slap to the thigh. “Agh! You fucking dick!” He laughs before licking at Eddie’s cheek.
“Oh, gross! You know I hate you doing that!” He groans, swiping at the saliva with one hand and pushing Richie away with the other before they both started to laugh.
“Come on, Workaholic, it’s time to eat. I promise this will all still be here when you get back.” He comments as Eddie nods, standing up from his chair, which caused his spine to crack.
They were both silent for a moment when Eddie pointed a warning finger at him.
“Not a single word from the peanut gallery,” He huffs, looking at Richie; he mimicked zipping his lips and throwing away the key.
The duo walked down the steps of their shared apartment before making a b-line for the kitchen. It wasn’t a huge kitchen, but it was big enough for the soon-to-be three.
“You got off tomorrow, right?” Richie set the food down onto the table before sitting down across from Eddie.
“For once, but I’ll probably go out shopping. It is my turn for groceries after all.” He explains, taking a bite of his dinner.
“Actually, do you think that maybe I could go with you? Make it a date?” He grins, wiggling his eyebrows, which made Eddie’s face flush gently.
“I mean… I don’t see why not.” He murmurs before noticing a weird emotion swirling within Richie’s irises. “Are you okay?” He tilted his head, causing the raven-haired man to blink at him.
“What? Of course! Why wouldn’t I be?” He frowns, tapping at his scruffy looking face. “What? Is my complexion too much for your eyes to handle?” He batted his eyelashes, making Eddie snort softly.
“More like your complexion makes it look like you haven’t slept in thirty days and only run on caffeine and junk food.” He resorts when Richie’s jaw drops in offense.
“Ass!” He exclaims, placing his hand onto his chest before shaking his head. “And I even made dinner like a good little house husband! So ungrateful!” He swoons as Eddie starts to laugh at his antics.
“You’re such a dumbass sometimes. But I guess you’re mine.” He sighs solemnly before they both start to laugh.
Eddie can truly say that he’s never felt happier than when he is with Richie, which is saying a lot considering all Richie has ever done is make horrible jokes. He didn’t think he could be happy after the horrible childhood, but all the losers stuck together when they left Derry. The clown had bonded them in ways that no one could even begin to understand. They were a tight group and only let Stan’s new wife Patty into their little circle after she proved how much she loved Stan.
“No-take-backsies.” Richie shrugs, bringing Eddie back to reality. Eddie took notice of Richie playing with his food; he was about to ask what’s wrong when Richie spoke, “You know I love you, right?” He asked quietly, making Eddie blink in shock.
“Of course, I do. You know that I love you, right?” He questioned as Richie nodded quickly. “Good… Now, what did you do?” His sharp gaze bored into Richie. He shrugged in response as Eddie crossed his arms and sat back against his chair. “Richie--” He’s cut off by Richie waving his hands.
“You’ll see it tomorrow. But--I--I promise it’s nothing bad.” He assured quickly, but his tone left no room for argument.
“Richard Wentworth Kaspbrak-Tozier, what did you do?” He demanded slowly, making Richie wince.
“Ooh, why did you have to bring out the full name?” He pouts before shaking his head. “I guess you’ll find out tomorrow.” He grins before shoving food into his mouth so he couldn’t speak anymore.
Eddie didn’t look too convinced, but Richie immediately changed the topic of conversation to something else so Eddie couldn’t grill him for information anymore. Soon the comedian was listening to his beloved husband banter about people at his work who were absolute dumbasses that were going to send him into an early grave.
Eddie had been ranting so much that he didn’t notice the lovestruck look on Richie’s face as he watched Eddie. The younger man gestured wildly as Richie’s mind began to wonder about what Eddie’s face would look like when he found out what the surprise was.
It was the sun shining through the curtains that woke Richie up. He grunted softly, rolling over only to find Eddie’s side of the bed empty and cold. His eyes snapped open as he looked around the room to see if his beloved was there, but he was alone.
That’s when the door opened, causing his head to jerk towards the sound. Eddie stepped into the room carrying a tray of food and two cups of coffee resting on the tray. The two shared a smile as Richie sat up with a chuckle.
“Oh, wow, breakfast in bed? If you wanted me to put out, Eds, all you had to do was ask.” He grins, making Eddie roll his eyes.
“Shut up and eat your breakfast, you absolute wet noodle.” Eddie snorts before taking his cup of coffee.
“Thank you,” Richie comments before taking a drink of his own. “Mm, good coffee,” Richie moans softly.
“How would you know? It’s mostly creamer in that cup.” Eddie points out.
“That’s how you know it’s good coffee. Get a little hint of coffee with my creamer.” He flashes him a grin.
“You’re ridiculous.”
“No, you’re ridiculous. The only people who drink coffee black are really old people and people who want to punish themselves for no good reason.” Richie resorts.
“Eat your breakfast.” Eddie huffs playfully as Richie dug into his pancakes.
“So, what is on the agenda for today? Where all shall we be going?” He asked, looking up to Eddie.
“Probably just the mall. We can get everything we need in one place. I need to look for a new belt, and you need new shoes because you’re a psychopath who wears out his shoes in like two uses.” He points out.
“What can I say? It’s a gift.” Richie shrugs with a grin.
Eddie stood up before he started to get dressed, sipping at his coffee after he was done. Soon Richie finished his coffee and his breakfast before setting the tray on the floor and standing up. He stretched out before moaning out at the feeling of his body cracking back into place.
“Alright, I’m going to get dressed, brush my teeth, and then we can get going,” Richie explains, glancing at the clock. With how efficient Eddie is with shopping, Richie wasn’t too worried about being late to meet Betty at the diner.
Of course, it was at that moment that Eddie pulled out a list of things they needed. He began to ramble them off while Richie got dressed. He smiles softly at Eddie; he wasn’t even paying attention to Richie at that point.
After they got outside, Eddie complained about Richie not wearing a jacket since it was mid-fall and he was going to get sick. Richie’s mind thought on a tiny little bundled up child with Eddie towering over them, adding more layers to keep them from the cold.
“Are you even listening to me?” Eddie huffed as Richie started driving down the road.
“Mmm, nope. Should I be?” Richie grins at Eddie’s scoff before turning his attention back on the road. “Alright, let’s make this quick, yeah?” He asked.
“What? Why? Something important you need to attend to? I mean, you didn’t have to come. You were the one who insisted on coming.” Eddie frowns.
“No, no, I mean… The surprise?” Richie asked, hoping it would ring some bells. “I just--I’m antsy, and I wanna see your face. Is that so wrong?” Richie tilted his head to look at Eddie.
“No, but if you would just tell me the surprise, you would already know. Besides, you know I don’t really like surprises.” He points out.
“Trust me; you’ll love this one.” Richie grins before pulling into the parking lot of the plaza.
The two began to walk around the mall. Richie held Eddie’s hand as the shorter of the two dragged him off towards the stores that they needed items from. Richie was off in his own world, letting Eddie drag him along when suddenly Richie bumped into Eddie. He stepped back a few steps so he could look at Eddie and see why he had stopped.
Richie’s eyes flickered to where Eddie was looking. He was staring into a display area that had baby clothes and small toys hanging on the walls. Richie glanced back to Eddie, taking in the look of longing that made Richie’s heart cease up painfully. He looked back to the display and thought about the future of Eddie with their child.
He squeezed Eddie’s hand, bringing him back from his little fantasy before offering a smile to him. “You wanna go in there?” He asked, causing Eddie’s face to flush.
“Nuh--No, no… We shouldn’t. We don’t have a child.” He points out with a grim expression.
“Still, wouldn’t hurt to look right?” Richie asked, glancing down at his watch. “You want me to take this stuff to the car? I’ll be right back.” He promised before rushing off with their stuff.
After he came back to the store, Eddie was already deep into the back of the store. Richie finally caught up to him, watching as Eddie looked over the small clothing with a fond grin. He walked up to him before taking Eddie’s hand, causing him to jolt before looking at Eddie.
“See anything you like?” Richie asked.
“I see a lot of things. I would love to buy all of these.” He whispered before biting his lip softly.
“How about we buy something? If nothing else, we can give it to Stan and Patty-cakes?” He offers when Eddie looks at him.
“Yeah, I guess we could,” Eddie comments softly before looking at all of the clothing again. “I like this one.” He held up a small yellow onesie with little ducks on it.
“That’s so cute. And perfect since yellow is a gender-neutral color.” Richie chuckles softly. His heart was fluttering excitedly at the glitter of happiness in Eddie’s eyes. Who knew something so simple could make Eddie look like an absolute angel?
“I like this one.” He confirmed before looking at Richie.
“Alright, then we’ll get that one.” He grins before they went towards the front of the store. He knew they would be back; even if this adoption didn’t work, Richie would make sure one of them would.
“Well, we got done a lot quicker than even I anticipated.” Eddie chuckles softly.
“Yeah, you getting hungry? It’s almost three.”
“Hm, yeah, I could use a bite to eat. Where do you wanna go?”
“How about Davis? I want a cheeseburger and their seasoned fries.” Richie grins before opening the car door for Eddie.
The car ride was a little quiet; only the sound of the radio was playing through the speakers. It wasn’t an awkward silence, more of an understanding of the reason behind the quietness. Richie didn’t make a joke or try to break the silence. He reached over and squeezed Eddie’s hand gently, never taking his eyes off the road.
Richie turned off the car before locking the doors, causing Eddie to frown. Richie’s heart thundered against his chest as he looked over to Eddie. The two locked eyes as two different emotions swirled between them, fear and longing.
“Okay, Eddie, there's something I need to tell you before we go in here. This is where the surprise is.” He gestured, making Eddie’s head jerk towards the building to see if he could see anything. “It’s nothing grand like you think it is. But we are going to meet someone here.” He explained quietly.
“Okay? Why? Richie, you’re kinda freaking me out here.” He huffs when Richie chuckles, tearing up.
“Do you trust me?” Richie asked instead.
“What? Why?”
“Do you trust me, Eds?” He asked again.
“You know I do, even if I don’t want to.” Eddie snorts softly.
“Then trust me right now, more than you’ve ever trusted me.” He begged, taking Eddie’s hands into his own before squeezing them gently.
Without waiting for Eddie to respond, Richie unlocked the doors and got out of the car. He leans down before flashing Eddie a quick grin, causing the younger one to roll his eyes and get out of the car.
“This better be good.” He grumbled, following after Richie.
They both stepped into the restaurant, taking in a warm atmosphere and the scent of good food. Richie’s head tilted as he looked around the restaurant before finally locking eyes with Betty. He grabbed Eddie’s hand before walking him over to Betty.
“Oh, you made it.” Betty smiles, going to stand up when Richie waved his hand.
“Of course, you don’t need to get up for us. It’s a pleasure to meet you face to face finally. He doesn’t know why we’re meeting you.” He explains softly as Betty looked at Eddie before smiling.
“Well, I hope you don’t freak out too much.” She chuckles, causing Eddie to look between the two.
“Freak out about what?” Eddie huffs, growing impatient.
“Eddie, this is Miss. Betty Novak.  She’s the lady who has been so gracious enough to let us adopt her baby.” He comments quietly, causing Eddie’s eyes to widen. He jerked his head to look at Richie.
“She--She what?” He asked, feeling his throat close up from the overwhelming emotions burning through him.
“Yes, we came here to discuss how this is going to work. She wanted to know if we wanted to come to her ultrasounds and everything.” He explains as Eddie started to nod his head immediately.
“Yes, yes, of course!” He gasps, feeling tears start to trickle down his face as he looks at Betty.
“Richie and I already went over the paperwork,” Betty explains with a warm smile. “I’m not showing just yet, but then again, I’m only about to be three months in.”
“How long have you been planning this?” Eddie asked in shock. “You can’t keep a secret to save your life!” He exclaims, causing Richie to laugh.
“Two… Two years.” Richie chokes up slightly. “I’ve been going to couples after couples in hopes that they would agree. Betty and I started talking about a month ago.” He chuckles before Eddie surged forward and hugged Richie tightly.
“You asshole, how could you make me cry in public!” He huffs softly before laughing as he looks up to Richie.
“Because you did it when you proposed, so I think it’s a fair trade.” Richie grins at Eddie.
Richie gestured for Eddie to sit down before sliding down next to him. They both looked to Betty as she chuckles softly at their antics. Eddie took Richie’s hand into his own, squeezing it tightly as they began to talk to her about what Richie and Betty had already discussed.
It was about closer to five-thirty when they left, promising to see Betty on Friday for their first ultrasound together. Richie glanced at Eddie when they were back in the car. Eddie had been rather quiet after Betty had left, which kind of worried Richie.
“Eds, you okay?” He asked softly before Eddie slowly looked at him.
“You… You are the best thing that has come out of all the shit in my life.” Eddie smiles, causing Richie to blink in shock.
“Eddie--” He’s cut off by Eddie surging across the console between them and jerking Richie into a passionate kiss.
Richie grins before cupping Eddie’s face and deepening the kiss. The two got lost in each other as they have done so many times before.
“I love you so much,” Eddie whispered when he pulled away.
“I love you too… so much,” Richie promised quietly. “I’m just glad it finally worked. I’ve been keeping this inside for two years. All because I wanted to see that dumb face of your smile. You’re going to be the best fricking dad in the world… And I’m the one who gets to witness all of it.” Richie smiles.
“What about you?” Eddie asked with a tilt of his head.
“What about me?” Richie frowns.
“Don’t you think you are going to be a good dad?”
“Oh, fuck no.” Richie bursts out laughing. “I am going to suck so hard, but… but as long as I have you… I think I have a chance of being a good Pop, hm?” He asked before petting at his five o’clock shadow. “Might grow out a beard and get salt and pepper hair.” He grins as Eddie started to laugh.
“How is your hair going to be grey when you haven’t even hit thirty yet?” Eddie held his stomach as he laughs harder.
“Um, duh, I’ll dye it. Come on, Eds! Keep up with the times’ old man!” He snorts.
“So, you’ll be the cool trendy Pop, and I’ll be the worry-some Dad who plans and organizes everything?” Eddie asked.
“God, you’ll be so frickin hot pulling out a calendar for play dates.” Richie laughs when Eddie pushes at him.
“Says the hot Pop who is gonna wear socks and sandals together.” Eddie chuckles.
“I’m gonna fucking rock the shit out of them, too!” He grins before looking at Eddie again. “But… You’re okay with this surprise?” He asked softly.
“I’m more than okay with this surprise, Richie. I can’t wait to meet them.” He smiles before they shared one more quick kiss and went home.
Maybe Richie will show him the nursery he had created. I mean, Eddie thinks that it’s Richie’s workroom. Or maybe he’ll wait for another day.
Richie stole a glance at Eddie; his beloved was looking over the onesie they bought with the biggest grin on his face. Oh yeah, Richie knew Eddie was always meant to be a dad, and seeing this only proved it.
