Bruce is actually really attractive, and I have enough reasoning to make a list

He's:

Tall (. Tall enough to hit his head on the vault doorframe)

Long-legged

Has a straight nose bridge

Has high cheekbones (more noticeable in 2nd pic below)

Has a strong jawline

Sharp eyes, but they aren't small (plus eyebags if you're into that)

Overall, he has strong, attractive facial features

Has broad, refined shoulders. You can tell he works out (or he did, when he was alive)

Even has a thick, muscly neck

He has MUSCLE. Is SCULPTED. NOICE. VERY NOICE. (nice arms. Nice shoulders. Nice neck. Nice legs. Nice butt-)

(There are actually panels where you can see some of his muscles. Other than those already shown here, he's got bricky thighs-

-and in the panels where we first get his name dropped, he's got those shoulder blades too-)

The one time we see him smile, and he actually has a scary one

Has small, kinda sharp pupils, and his eyes remind me of a cat. We only ever saw him tense or defensive, so his resting/listening face is really cute

Other than the physical appearance stuff, he also:

Takes shit without batting an eye (patience, knowing it's just how Kudo is, etc)

Kudo being all "Cut the crap Bruce and give it to me straight", after Bruce tests his blood and is rightfully Concerned because they just faced AFO

Put up with Kudo's experimenting and testing over Yoichi's transferable Factor

Did ya'll see the look on Kudo's face when he realized he had Yoichi's Factor/will? Kudo was going to start in nonsense and Bruce just dealt with that.

Also something I noticed when looking back at the images here; Bruce has bandages on his arms in the void. But not when he faced AFO in the sewers.

Were he and Kudo cutting their arms open in their experimenting over Yoichi's theory? Is this why Kudo has two gauntlets instead of his one? Why we never see his bare arms in the void? That he always keeps his arms down so there's no slip?

Is smart enough to run blood tests, plus has enough common sense to pick Shinomori as his successor

He picked a guy who avoids society, has an Ability to detect danger so he can always stay away from AFO, is also a coward so he's never going to go throw himself into danger, even without knowing instinctively he stands no chance, etc.

Meanwhile, Kudo chose Bruce, who he played Hot Potato Yoichi with; but he did also trust Bruce, and put the only pure combative Ability in OFA through Bruce.

These two made their choices based on what they valued and saw the Factor needed.

Is logical, analytical, and calm.

He tried advising Midoriya on their Abilities in One For All, especially his own.

Midoriya then tried ignoring him about using Fa Jin for the first time, but found he was right, thinking: "Dammit!! I had [Lady Nagant] right where I wanted her, but... ugh! The Third was right. My parallel Quirk processes are all screwed up!" (ch. 314).

Plus, when Midoriya fixed his processing mistakes, Bruce was analyzing the way he reached his new conclusion. Pure facts, no bias, very calm, just saying it as it was.

We never see him panic. When he's caught by surprise in the sewers by AFO, Kudo, and Yoichi's little bubble event, he immediately reacts. He doesn't falter, he just knows he has to do something right now.

Was more willing to listen than Kudo to Yoichi's beckon, and probably was just following Kudo's rejection of Midoriya

While we don't see Kudo's face, we see Bruce's eyes when Yoichi calls on his heroes. Bruce was more open and receptive, or at least more impacted.

Bruce was also the one to start talking, while Kudo just kept quiet.

He actually communicates a lot

When Yoichi called them to support Midoriya, Bruce started talking to paint a picture of why they thought the way they did, so Yoichi understood where they were coming from.

(Though he seems to beat about the bush sometimes, since Kudo spoke up to be direct on how they couldn't just put their trust in some starry-eyed teenager. Plus, when Kudo tells him to just tell him what's wrong [double Factors])

When Midoriya first used Fa Jin against Nagant, Bruce came out just to tell him he knew what he was trying, but that Midoriya wasn't ready; and Midoriya found he was right. Midoriya just didn't want to listen to him then.

He asks Kudo for clarification after finding Kudo had two Factors in him after the sewer incident ("Just to be sure, All For One didn't touch you, right?") Kudo knew him well enough to go "stop beating around the bush and tell me", so Bruce was probably gonna start with questions, theories, and trying to understand everything in general, before saying "yeah you have two Factors. Don't know why".

Is strong-willed and loyal.

He followed Kudo, even to death, carrying on the cause he started until it ended with him.

Plus, when talking about how AFO needs a strong will to override OFA's own, we first see Bruce, Kudo, and Yoichi.

AFO couldn't steal OFA because the will was too strong for him, and that was back during Banjo's time. Since Shinomori never actually tried opposing AFO and just hid, we can assume the first Three (Yoichi, Kudo, Bruce) already had an accumulation of strong willpower that made OFA un-stealable. Those three are a strong enough foundation, and the main wills, that the other users just become bonuses.

Kudo, also saying that Midoriya needs allies with the same will and drive as him... hey Kudo, you're talking about yourself and your old allies, aren't you? That's why you look at Yoichi and Bruce when you say this.

Not only is Bruce attractive, but he's got good character. THE END.

ever think about how probably the hex get to chill with the drifter also because the drifter does make their job simpler.

Both the techrot and the troops need time to readjust from waves of culling, hence the hex are genuinely thrown in moments where they have time to properly think: whether that brings peace or lets buried grievances resurface is another thing though :)

I am curious, what happens to a character when they "die" in the battlefield? Like we know they don't actually die in a literal sense since we can still access them in the suitcase after the battle. But what do you think happens? Like what is the process?

My thoughts on how it works is like basketball. When a player gets injured heavily and cannot play anymore (like dying on the battlefield), then there is a timeout or foul and they are replaced by a player on the bench (or the 4th team member in their Udimo form). The injured player is immediately rushed for medical attention and the rest of team continues on without them.

For example, I remember a time when my sister was playing and Avgust passed away suddenly and Windsong came out of the suitcase from her Udimo form to replace him (he was quickly avenged). I also wonder what happens when a kid is injured like that. Will they rush them to Laplace like they did with Erick on her character anecdote (when she started losing conciousness and bleeding)? What would that scenario be like in Avgust's case?

I feel like not only does it depend on the enemy but also the circumstances. Like, if you get defeated by a simple enemy that launches common arcane skills, it's not as dangerous and can be treated with simple healing spells.

I'll get into details after.

As for how, yeah it might be as simple as that, for us and the enemy. If we're going with the "arcanists randomly appear to kick ass" we can assume that when one gets injured or unable to fight anymore (due to whatever circumstances), another selected arcanist walks out to take their place while the other is escorted inside for treatment.

Same with our enemy because, as a common saying here goes: "Lo que es bueno pal pavo es bueno pa la pava" (it means if a thing applies to a certain group or person, it's valid to apply it to another group or person)

So you have to wait for your enemy to be carried away and replaced by another enemy, it's only fair.

I believe there's a small fear over sending young arcanists outside due to their arcanum and resistance. If someone like August were to get hurt by an ultimate, they'd have to carry him to the foundation for his safety and health. The foundation can provide a more thorough examination for the injured arcanists and the more gravely damaged, especially children who are under Tooth Fairy's jurisdiction.

The damage also depends on if it was an ultimate or if it was a normal attack, and also the type of enemy. A boss defeating your ally with an ultimate can and will get them to an emergency room unless they're known for applying shield or high resistance skills which may minimize, but not eliminate, all damage.

Kakania, Ezra and Eternity who damage themselves during attacks may receive a different treatment due to constant injuries. Semmelweis doesn't count as her body is different from a normal arcanist's, she might need to drink blood even if she's reluctant or doesn't want to.

Kids are less sent outside to fight unless the enemy doesn't cause as much damage.

And I haven't read Erick's anecdote 😓

In a more specific Avgust case, it's definitely a formal friend or Windsong (Vila doesn't cast any attack incantation so I'm not counting her) who takes his place and also helps the team carry him. If Vila is in the team, she has a harder time staying put so she applies health incantations almost immediately so Avgust can rush to Tooth Fairy (or in a more serious case, Laplace) with less pain. If she's not, you bet your life she's carrying that kid through the halls like a mad woman.

Still recovering from gallbladder surgery, had some complications that's making this take a lot longer than it normally should so it's been a fun, slow process :') On the mend but oof I really want to do some silly/creative stuff. Instead, I've been having to put all my time and energy into this online game design/prototyping course that requires me to learn a new engine every week while also making something playable within that time frame as well- all while also trying to heal too hhhhhhh It's a great exercise of course and it's been really exciting/fun so far but MAN why my uni gotta be like this with the 8-week courses right out the gate this semester. Been a lot to juggle for this clown to say the least kjhkjjhkh

Well… okay is a relative term here I think. Medically, yes, she’s alright now. She apparently got fucking pneumonia the last time she was in the hospital, so she’s been in for like a week and a half this time on really strong antibiotics. But because this hospital apparently doesn’t believe in getting their patients out of bed unless a physical therapist is present, she has to go back to rehab to get back on her feet. That’ll probably be another three weeks. The second she’s back home, I’m requesting all her medical records and we’re getting an attorney to see if we have a case to sue this shithole

I just don’t get it. The first time we went last year for her stomach ulcers it was literally wonderful. The most pleasant hospital stay any of us had ever had. My mom almost didn’t wanna leave because they treated her so well. They had her in the newer building and they were so attentive and had her walking and doing stuff the whole time so she didn’t just lay in bed and atrophy. Then the last time while she was in the ICU, which is also in the newer building, she received exemplary care there too. The nurses were sweet and patient and they got her out of bed the moment she was able to. And like the emergency surgeons saved her life, so I have no doubt that there is absolutely the capacity for good care at this place. But god fucking forbid you get stuck in the older main building. It’s like an entirely different hospital. We took her back to the same place because we, probably foolishly, hoped she’d get the same care she got in the newer building since she’d be on a different floor, but no, it’s more of the same as it was last time. So we’re taking her to a different rehab place this time because fuck this hospital

She’s doing well with her intestine stuff tho, so that’s a bright spot. Everything with that is healed and back to normal, which is wild because I’m personally still reeling from the fact that she had 130cm of her small intestine removed. Now if we can just get her walking again she’ll be great

The crazy part is, I’m no stranger to long hospital stays. I had a few when I was younger, and an over night stay just last year for my kidney stone surgery. I was at a different hospital, and their protocol was so different. I never saw a physical therapist, the nurses would just get me out of bed and make me do laps around the floor a couple times a day. And I was laid up for a few days way back when I was like 12 because one of the fucking nurses had me on an adult dose of morphine (my doctor was pissed, I’m pretty sure that nurse got fired that day), and I was super weak when they could finally get me up, but it was still just like two nurses and my mom helping me walk around. So I’d walk all over the hospital for as long as they’d let me. And like during my overnight stay last year, the night nurse woke me up at three in the morning like hey you have to walk I want you to do two laps around the floor, and then the day nurse woke me up at eight like hey same thing let’s do laps. They were obsessed with getting me out of bed and on my feet and I had a tube with a foley attached sticking out of my back and an IV stand with morphine to carry around. At this place, they’re like well we have to call a PT, and the PT doesn’t even work on that floor so they have to schedule an appointment, and the nurses apparently aren’t even allowed to just move her from the bed to the chair, so she’s just wasted away in this bed for a week and a half (and nearly three weeks last time)

It’s been so incredibly frustrating and stressful and I’m just ready for her to be back home 😭😭
