Hey, nerds! I love drawing maps. Like a lot. But there's no demand for them, so I can only do them in my limited free time. But I've had a hankering to add color...maybe a grid? to these so they could actually be used on the table.
If I continued doing these/colored these up, would any of you be interested in buying physical map copies of these and/or PWYW digital copies of these?

I was thinking about a post where someone said that D&D fans will trick out the game to the point of running Dark Souls on Skyrim through mods levels of changes way before touching another system that is literally a much better, easier, and more accessible version of a game either because of Sunk-cost or being stuck in a place where anything outside of D&D has to be imported in where the PHB/DMG is available at Walmart. So I ask the greater Tumblr community of TTRPGs:

A kindly looking fey approaches you.
"I'm not going to pretend you're as foolish as someone else would say you look. Though it appears you are in need of assistance. There are several things I am willing to take in exchange for helping you. So, before we get started,
It is your choice, of course."

Have you played STARFINDER ?
By Paizo
Tumblr media
Blast off into a galaxy of adventure with the Starfinder Roleplaying Game! Step into your powered armor and grab your magic-infused laser rifle as you investigate the mysteries of a weird universe with your bold starship crew. Will you delve for lost artifacts in the ruins of alien temples? Strap on rune-enhanced armor and a laser rifle to battle undead empires in fleets of bone ships, or defend colonists from a swarm of ravenous monsters? Maybe you'll hack into the mainframe of a god-run corporation, or search the stars for clues to the secret history of the universe or brand new planets to explore. Whether you're making first contact with new cultures on uncharted worlds or fighting to survive in the neon-lit back alleys of Absalom Station, you and your team will need all your wits, combat skill, and magic to make it through. But most of all, you'll need each other.

Round 1: Hellen Highwater vs Chronos Goodman, Time Attorney at Law
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Image ID included, click to see the full image please!
More about each NPC below the cut!
Character 1
Name: Hellen Highwater Party: Team Kill Relationship to party: A party member's girlfriend, a party member
What makes them the best NPC: She's very silly and makes so many puns, she's a dragonblood sorcerer whose dad is a copper dragon. For most of her life she could spit acid and thought it was just because of the specific ancestry she had and had no clue it could have been related to her copper-y scales. She was the first person to really get to know the party's resident edgy man. Originally she was supposed to be a minor part of the plot, sending the party letters from her home, but the party and the DM liked her so much she managed to stay in the party.

Character 2
Name: Chronos Goodman, Time Attorney At Law Party: Pandeia Boys Nite Relationship to party: The party's legal aid after our psychic was caught breaking the time-space continuum
What makes them the best NPC: He is an unfathomably powerful time walker with unknown power who opted to help 3 gay men beat the temporal anomaly allegations. He also wears a white dragon scale suit and generally fucks severely. Yes he is corrupt but he is corrupt for us <3

I know I personally started young (11 years old), and it didn't go very well at first. Meanwhile my friend started at 35, and his first try was a lot better than mine (though still no where near as good as he can do now).
If you've never DMed, it's never too late to learn!

This is for explicitly DM EXTRAS! Things people dont necessarily expect from a DM but that are a fun perk when the DM does them!
This does not include things like "good story," "world building," or "session 0" as these are typically somewhat expected things, not "extras."

Material Components in TTRPGs
I'm looking into Material components in my ttrpg but I don't want it to be like dnd where I ignore them or use them reluctantly. What are your thoughts? I want the spell casting to feel truly like a part of your character. You have to rp putting in the work to craft some material components or attaching them to your spell casting focus. I want casters to wear their spells to some degree. Idk its all in the works right now.
