Any tips for transpet? Like feeling as though you're meant to be someone's pet or as though you should be treated as a pet?

TRANS - PET . . .

Depending on your species - having gear can be very euphoric ! Let's use the regular household pets ( cats / dogs ) as an example ! Getting ears or tails can help a lot ! You can find ones on amazon quite easily - or you can also go on Etsy to commission some to be perfect fits for you ! Yet there are cheaper alternatives - DIYing ! We followed this tutorial and got amazing results ! Note ; instead of Worbla , we used chicken wire and carboard for the shape and instead of hair pastel we used our simple makeup pallet - got very nice results ! For tails - we used this tutorial and got amazing results ! You can also make paws by sewing small balls / tuffs for toes on socks ! More gear like collars is also great ! You can get accessories collars from amazon , or simply get one of the bigger collars from pet stores !

Makeup - depending on your species , doing makeup like noses , whiskers , scales , ect., can help ! If you want realistic whiskers for more euphoria - taking plastic craft wire and cutting to desired length , then gluing to your face with eyelash glue can give the more realistic affect of whiskers ! If you feel like spending the money - leather face muzzles are also a great euphoria whammer !

Having Pet beds can help a lot ! Going to pet stores and getting beds made for big dogs can be a great fit for you to be able to sit in comfortably ! If you live in a home where you are unable to do that - getting a beanbag is a great alternative !

Getting yourself treats can be good ! Rewarding yourself for small tasks can also give euphoria ! You can use simple things you just enjoy - or if you want more affirming things , you can use look - alike alternatives to pet treats ! Cereal to kibble , slim jims for dental sticks , ect !

Acting like your species ! Using the example of household pets - doing floor based yoga can count for stretching ! You can also start quadrobics ( sport of walking on all fours ) , there are many tutorials from the therian community that we have tried out - and holy fuck we just learned how to jump over small objects on all fours !

If you have a partner that is apart of your transition - having them train you tricks and then rewarding with treats can be euphoric !

He'd thought Stede might be falling asleep at the other end of the bathtub, but at that he wrinkled his nose, reaching up to slowly remove the cucumber slices from his eyes. "This is fun," he agreed. "I think I heard a but coming on, though."

They'd just properly moved in together, and it had been a long fucking week. Ed had been living out of a drawer at Stede's place for a while, and when their leases were both up, they'd decided to go in together on a bigger apartment, one with room for an at-home painting studio for Ed and a big kitchen for Stede.

It had been a long week, full of moving boxes and painting and assembling new furniture, but now it was the weekend, and Ed woke up with a sore knee and Stede had a sore back, so they just...hadn't done any of that stuff today. A spa day, Stede suggested, and they quickly discovered they'd neither of them ever really had something like that before.

It had been pretty amazing, honestly. They'd gotten dressed in fun, comfy clothes, Stede choosing to just wear his favorite golden robe and Ed deciding to try out a soft, fun rainbow pastel skirt he'd been a bit too nervous to take outside the house yet. They'd made DIY face scrubs, did each other's hair up with fun hair clips, painted each other's nails, and now they were finally getting to chill in the bathtub they'd picked specifically because it was big enough for the both of them.

"It's a very silly but," Ed hedged, scooping up a handful of bubbles from their bath and arranging them carefully along Stede's chin.

"I love all your buts," Stede said, far too earnestly for a guy with a bubble beard. "Well - maybe one butt more than others -"

"I knew it," Ed pretended to groan, tossing his head back in faux dispair. "I knew you were just in this relationship for my ass."

"I mean, your ass is great," Stede laughed, "but right now I'm waiting to hear about that but."

"Alright, alright." Ed pulled his knees up, rubbing his pruned thumbs over the soap-slippery skin, looking down at the iridescent water. "This is really fun. But. It kinda feels like...I dunno, that I'm not supposed to get this. Y'know what I mean?"

"Mm, yeah," Stede hummed thoughtfully. "Like...like someone's gonna come in here and start yelling at us."

"Yeah," Ed mumbled, resting his chin on his knees. "That's it, that's the feeling exactly."

"Well." Stede got himself a handful of bubbles, and he put his right on the tip of Ed's nose. "That's not gonna happen. Because - because fuck anyone who says we don't deserve this."

It still sounded like Stede was trying to convince himself, too.

"Yeah," Ed whispered, and then - "fuck you, dad!"

"Whoo!" Stede cheered, accidentally flinging bubbles when he tossed a hand in the air. "Fuck your dad, and my dad - fuck you, Nigel!"

"Yeah, fuck 'im!" Ed whooped. "Fuck you, Hornigold! We're taking a bubble bath and there's not a damn thing you can do about it!"

"We're not getting out of this tub until we please," Stede announced. "Just try and make us! We're relaxing!"

"We're unwinding!"

Stede rested his hand on the rim of the tub, smiling when Ed reached out to lace their fingers together. "And no one can tell us we don't get to do things like this. Ever again."

Still hard to believe that, maybe. But even once they got out of their bath, they'd trade shoulder massages, and feed each other pieces of cake, and Ed would pout until Stede carried him to bed. And, as it turned out, Stede was quite right - no one would ever get to tell them they didn't deserve soft, sweet days like this, ever again.

Styling Menhera more "Masculinely"

Recently I've seen more interest in how to wear menhera and related styles if you typically present more masculine, so I'd like to address that today. This post will sort of be a continuation of this ask, but instead of discussing particular brands we'll focus on how to style your coords to have a more masculine feel to them.

Firstly though, a disclaimer: this post is not a set of rules to be followed, nor a statement on what men/masc people should or shouldn't wear. It's simply a list of ideas that might help if you want to present more traditionally (?) masculine for whatever reason. I think part of the appeal of menhera is nonconformity and NOT trying to fit into what society expects, so please don't misinterpret this post as trying to tell you what to do!

With that out of the way, it's worth noting that the tops you wear will largely be the same. Of course, avoiding tops with a large amount of bows, frills, etc also helps, but other than that I believe that most tops can be styled in a masculine way. So like in any menhera coord you'll have a top wth vent art on it. Often it will be oversized, but a regular fit is also okay.

I would say the biggest difference between feminine menhera styling and masculine menhera styling is the bottoms (and the impact this has on the overall silhouette). Where a feminine silhouette often uses short shorts/skirts/bloomers with OTKs and/or legwarmers, you’ll have an easier time going for a masculine look with longer shorts, joggers, other comfortable straight leg pants, or even jeans.

The silhouette will change a lot depending on what type of bottom you choose. Experiment with whether you prefer an overall baggy look (baggy sweatpants with an oversize top) or a contrasting baggy top with a (comparatively) tighter straight leg bottom.

While it's not necessary, some brands also make menhera print joggers/sweatpants if you feel left out of extra prints via OTKs. The ones pictured below are by SoftNGloomStyle on etsy

You'll notice that I've mostly been using yamikawaii (dark color) examples. This is because it's a bit harder to make yumekawaii/pastels feel masculine. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try though!

Regardless of how you feel about Ezaki Bisuko, he provides us good examples of pastels in a masculine silhouette (I don't think I've ever seen anyone else do menhera polo shirts before? But this could be replicated with a button up!)

The pastels are more subtle on this one, but it still felt worth showing. Despite using a few more "feminine" accessories, this person balanced their outfit with the bottoms and layering for a more genderless feel.

Finally, the last thing I'll talk about is accessories. Most menhera coords should only have a couple accessories and I would say this goes doubly so if you're trying to present masculinely. Keep accessories few and impactful.

One accessory I feel is overlooked in menhera is hats! If you're avoiding hair accessories and bows, hats are a good way to tie together an outfit as well.

hats should be a fairly accessible option as well because

redbubble semi recently started printing on hats, so many menhera designs can be put on them

they can be diy-ed by purchasing a fitting patch or pin and adding them on

you could go even further by making your own design with fabric marker/embroidery/etc. because of the size, hats are probably an easier project than making a shirt design this way

to briefly touch on other accessories: you can use most of them, but be cautious. Overall most masculine coords I have seen use much more simple types of jewelry on their necklaces/bracelets/chokers/etc such as leather, chord, and metal and don't often feature large or elaborate decorations. Still, feel free to experiment with what works!

My tips for other magical girls !!

Cw English is not my first language

♡ Make a diy wand or buy a toy one! Use it as an accessory, keychain or simply wear it around with you

♡ Are you the type who uses an object to transform? decorate your object or create it! this is similar to the wand diy

♡ Outfits! If you're fictionkin, make your outfits inspired on your kin, you can also use things like fluffy skirts, bows, lace and cute jewerly

♡ This is too basic, but make a playlist, believe me, it can help

♡ Merch from media with magical girls, buy or diy merch from media like sailor moon, sakura cardcaptor, even from stuff like star vs the forces of evil, winxs club, etc.

♡ This is super specific but those little backpacks with wings on them(??? Idk

♡ If you can, dye/cut/style your hair the same as the character you kin or in a way that makes you feel connected to the kin

♡ cute room decor, use pastel colors and kawaii themed things, search for cutecore room inspo or bedrooms of certain magical girl animes on pinterest(btw i don't like the term cutecore)

i like to imagine Julie And The Phantoms having a glow up inside the show as a band. Like nothing drastic bc we may keep their essence, but as the boys and Julie get more famous, their agent would suggest them doing a little rebranding, not a total makeover bc neither the boys or Julie would be down for that, but like small improvements.

Reggie, classic rock guy w his leather jackey, chains, basic tank top and flannel, would go well w some eyeliner. (especially after Julie says it brings out his eyes)

Luke, specimen of rip off shirts and stained coats, imagine showing up to stage w cropped shirts and jeans filled w patches of his favorites rock bands and artists,(I know he owns crop tops im not making this up entirely) ripped off jeans, maybe something wrapped around his arms (like in Now Or Never)

Alex, unconventional rock guy who mostly wears pastel and light colors ( i love him for it), doesn't really go for a change on his wardrobe, but rather put on hoop earrings on his lobes, golden, i think it'd fit him well (might or might have not beem suggested by Willie) and. bc i think he'd look good, a nose ring (nostril piercing).

and Julie, oh she's a star. She'd go for a lot diy stuff, leaning into punk, there's shirts with drawings she doodled, customized stuff, embroidery, she'd also dye streaks of her hair, purple streaks that fall into different colors on the ends (blue, red, pink) and maybe some glitter for her makeup.

my G5 mane six redesigns! + how they look in my AU. also obv they have how i made them in ponytown beforehand for reference. i talk about my decisions below the cut :p

i changed sunnys cutiemark from 'generic shooting star' to a sign with two overlapping stars because i feel like it fit her whole 'standing up for what she believes and wanting everyone to come together' thing.

i changed hitchs from a cop badge with a horseshoe to being an admittedly rough version of a judges hammer and paw print. hes not a cop in mine because like... no. but he still cares about the law and what hes told is right, and also obviously still has animals following him around just because he exists :p

im not completely satisfied with him, i wanted his hair to be closer to his ponytown counterpart, and i still think the cutiemark could use some work, but it gets the point across. i kept the sash because its a fun accessory and it gives 'kid in school thats always bossing people around to keep in line based on the rules' to me. hall monitor? we didnt have those in my school but hall monitors on tv are similar LOL

i changed zipps from a plain lightning bolt with a crown because like. okay sure shes a princess but she really didnt seem to care much for that role, and she still doesnt care for it in my au. i liked how she was meant to be detective-like so i kept that aspect and gave her a magnifying glass while keeping the lightning bolt within it.

i kept izzys, pipps, and mistys cutiemarks the same. pipp is still a princess-y musical pony, izzy is still a creative DIY queen, and misty is still... well to be completely honest i still cant put her whole thing into words but i still liked the concept so yeah.

i leaned a little bit into their names with some of them. starscout, storm, petals. felt like it wouldve been too much to do it with all of them, especially since not all of them have spots on their legs. and yes, star shaped freckles. mistys freckles are supposed to be butterfly shaped but its hard to do that with them that small...

i kept all their haircolors basically the same even if i changed the hair for basically all of them. i thought it would add a lot to actually have different hair textures and for them to not all be pastel ponies, even if it is the pastel pony franchise. plus i remembered the criticism about how the only pony with actually textured hair was the one working with the villain and how unfair and weird that was.

i wanted pipp to actually still have the same hair shape as her canon counterpart but i couldnt figure out the little bendy part :'] thats on me though

i know mistys hairdye is meant to match her cutiemark, but i kinda didnt like that it just completely covered up her natural hair color, and i liked her natural hair colors so i kept them *and* the dye.

also zipps monocle is literally just cause its like cartoonishly detective-y and i thought it would be cute and dorky. girl who was raised in a castle imitating her favorite detective stories. idk maybe theres one like that in their world cause i thought sherlock in our world had one but i. am realizing i dont think he did. too bad for him

Freddy

His island theme would either space themed or have a woodsy feel. Maybe he would have one half of the island start off as woodsy, and then further into it it becomes space. His villagers are definitely bears and cubs, maybe one bunny villager as a homage to Bonnie (he's definitely got a high friendship with said bunny villager). He's definitely a good island representative, making sure he takes care of his island and is always building something. His island is before his own needs, so his house would probably only be up to the 2nd upgrade. He's willing to help out other players by giving them NMTs and bells, since he seems to be rich in that aspect. He doesn't change out any of his villagers, and he gets sad whenever one of them wants to move...

His island is 5 stars.

His villagers: Beardo, Ike, Megan, Charlise, Grizzly, Stitches, Maple, Poncho, Bluebear, and Sasha.

Chica

Her island is bright colored, mostly pastel pink, everything is cutesy and food related too. She definitely has little shops and decorations meant to represent food stands. She's just enjoys collecting pink items and coming up with new build ideas for the island. She definitely has perfect fruit as well. She's got the full DIY cook book completed, having an overabundance of recipes which she gives to players and friends for free whenever they visit. She's also great at happy home design. She's a master at the stalk market... she's got the best prices. She's a 4 star island.

Most of her villagers are birds and bunnies...

Roxy

Her island is car themed, with a big makeshift salon she created. She has a lot of clothes and hair styles, it's a fashion show every week. She has a lot of wands too. Her storage is running out of space because of how much shit she has...

She forces her villagers to stay, she likes them a lot. She dresses them up, even Barold. She's got a good friendship with Viviane, that's her girl. She's not rich like Freddy or Chica, but she's just having a good time hanging around her villagers and collecting clothing items.

Monty

His island is country swamp theme, one side is country the other swamp. He's not a good builder but he's trying, he's got a few furniture items he's using the build with. Freddy's always giving him stuff, as much as he doesn't want it. A lot of unread mail...

He's not focused too much on the island, but he likes island hopping and collecting resources, mostly visiting his friend's islands to hang out. He prefers fishing and filling out his critter encyclopedia, and filling the museum. He doesn't really play that much but when he does he chills out with his villagers and fishes. His favorite villager is Dobie. He's rocking at 2 stars, but he's in no rush to get 5 stars.

His villagers:

Bonnie

His island is 80s bowling themed with some space elements (...coughs). Any leftover or duplicate items Freddy had he'd nab to put on his own island, most of which were space themed. He likes island hopping most for resources and to increase profits. He's got four stars, he's trying to reach 5 stars so he can brag to Roxy (she's at 3 stars). Most of his villagers are bunnies, a few cubs, and a bear. Of course, he's gonna have the highest friendship with the bear villager because it reminds him of Freddy. He's definitely using his secluded beach as a little hangout spot for him and Freddy when he visits his island.

Pronouns - She/Her Age - Sixteen Appearance - Amy has long, wavy brown hair, which she usually keeps loose or - on rare occasions - tied into a ponytail or braid. rwrb characters and their eras tour outfits

so i saw this tiktok asking what we think alex and henry are wearing to the eras tour, so here’s what i think the super six would do if they were all going together (in new york, i assume)…

(in my head they all choose an era and base an outfit on that…probably nora and pez’s idea)

alex - he fights for reputation and wins. i’m thinking black, sparkle, and chains. leather jacket with a black rhinestone snake on the back and a black mesh crop top underneath. black distressed jeans cuffed over combat boots. chains around his neck and hanging from his jacket and pants. thin black sunglasses that he later uses to hold back his curls when the house lights go down. oh and he definitely has the sharpest black eyeliner on his lids.

henry - he has a choice: either live in his reputation era with alex or be his complementary opposite. so he chooses lover. i’m thinking ‘80s high school student with lover energy. light-washed jeans with white chuck taylors. tucked in, a loose-fitted pastel button-up with cuffed sleeves. maybe it has splotches of color or faded butterflies on it…idk some kind of print. on top, a hand painted jean jacket with “london boy” in loopy pink typography on the back. a glitter lover heart around his eye (bc nora insists).

nora - speaking of, i’ll keep this simple for her. a fully identical ring leader costume to what taylor had on the red tour. she may be an irl chaos demon but i think she’s anointed herself the unofficial leader of “super six does eras tour 2k23” so this fit is appropriate for her. i mean she almost made them all wear matching t-shirts like they’re a depressed cishet family at disney world but june talked her down.

june - the queen of fashion herself. this is the trickiest for me bc june wants to do folklore and just wear shortalls and the silver star cardigan to be comfy, but she’ll be damned before she doesn’t match the energy of the others. june goes with evermore and all in on “cowboy like me” to piss alex off since he almost went with rodeo wear. cropped cream fringe jacket with an elegant ivy embroidery on the back and trim. underneath, a bustier and shorts of the same fabric with the same embroidery. of course she’s wearing a cowboy hat, cream with the ivy details. and caramel cowboy boots (rounded toe bc she’s a utility girl). everything but the boots are custom made in austin.

pez - “this night is sparkling! don’t you let it go!” yeah so as soon as he saw taylor in all of her enchanted ballgowns, he knew he had to be her nigerian billionaire glitter prince. and that’s exactly what he does. he commissions a nigerian designer to make a suit and headpiece using akwete fabric in the colors of the speak now era’s visuals. all accented in rhinestones of course. he’s also all about the accessories with a watch, bracelets, necklaces, shoes, and glasses from various luxury brands. he does the absolute most, and everyone loves him for it.

bea - angel is in her midnights era, and i am here for it! bc of bullshit princess rules she couldn’t wear a bodysuit like she wanted. but no matter, she’s still going to shimmer. having not seen anyone do it yet, she literally learns to sew and diy’s a mini dress version of taylor’s yellow dress at the end of the bejeweled music video. it was totally, incredibly frustrating but she nails it! complete with lace, bows, and a little more sparkle, the dress hits so hard. she pairs it with sparkly louboutin boots and replicas of the hair clips and choker she bought off etsy. june helps her do taylor’s hairstyle from the video, while she does the makeup, beauty mark included.

Finding a good alley to hang in and a group of freaks to hang with is an essential part of being a punk in a mid-sized midwest city. But there is so much other stuff to do.

You gotta spend time cultivating your look, and your musical knowledge. You can attain the musical knowledge through a combination of: research (via books about classic punk, interviews with your favorite current bands where they talk about their influences, and fanzines), college radio, trading tapes, and scouring the racks of record stores and thrift shops.

As for your look—well, when you can manage to get to cities with stores that actually sell punk clothes and accessories, you should pick up a few things. Mailorder is good for that, too. But you can achieve the rest with thrift shopping and DIY. Don’t be afraid to get weird with it. Make your own patches! Rip up your tights! Put bleach splotches on your jeans! Put Kool-Aid in your hair! Combine things that shouldn’t go together! Like, I would wear plastic pastel baby barrettes in my spiky hair, and wear jelly bracelets alongside my studded ones. Or I’d wear a hideous Day-Glo polyester shirt from the ‘70s, with tight pants and high-top Chucks. Or I’d wear a leopard print top with plaid pants. Of course, the classic combo of “black clothes with boots and chains” is always good, but in general, punk style (the way I did it) wasn’t so much about looking cool as it was about looking a little bizarre and offputting, yet also whimsical.
