Not stale, but thick, as if you were pushing through an invisible field as you moved.

A chill fell over the room in the middle of the night, stirring you half-awake.  You felt exposed, but couldn’t reach the covers to pull them back up. Then you felt a weight descend on your hips. You opened your eyes to the looming silhouette of a man straddling you. Your heart jumped and you drew in a mouthful of air to scream, only for a large, cool hand to clamp down over your mouth. The man lowered his torso over yours and brought his mouth to your ear to warn, “Be quiet for me, babe.”

So... say hello to the Hellraisers, named for the fact that they had to perform an exorcism on their first day:

Faroe Lomenelda Faeth (she/her): The party wildcard and ultimate pastel goth, Faroe looked up to both of her older siblings from the get-go, even if her big brother insisted that they were archrivals sworn to destroy each other (it became more and more of an inside joke as she grew older). Taking a page out of both of their books, she became a bard---specifically, a College of Spirits bard, because she always loved the spooky stories about ghost ships and drowned sailors---but she also took a page out of Cathilda's book and became a Swashbuckler rogue, which really just meant that she could spar with Fabian and Fig whenever she wanted. Even though she never met Bill Seacaster, growing up in a converted pirate ship definitely gave her a love for the pirate aesthetic... though, she has absolutely inherited her dad's love of yogurt. Just mango-strawberry with fruit chunks instead of lemon. Hey, it just means that she can sleep in and eat a yogurt cup for breakfast on the way to school.

Parker O'Shaughnessy (he/they): One half of the Hellraiser's werewolf twins, Parker definitely inherited his dad and big sister's wild, grunge-meets-crust-punk energy. So much so, in fact, that he wound up becoming a Path of the Beast barbarian, fully embracing his wolf side and becoming almost as much of a wildcard as Faroe is. In fact, they're actually Faroe's best friend, and while they only sort of consider each other semi-siblings due to both being Fig's younger siblings, Parker and Faroe are definitely the revival of the Kristen-and-Fig chaos of the old days. Also, Parker is the drummer in Faroe's band, the Go-Ghosts. She's the lead singer and guitarist.

Luna O'Shaughnessy (she/they): The other half of the werewolf twins, Luna was much closer to her adopted sister and her cousin growing up, and she developed a deep fascination with the wonders and mysteries of magic. So much so, in fact, that she ended up not only dedicated herself to a god of magic, becoming an Arcana Domain cleric, but she also learned the secrets of wizardry, becoming a School of Conjuration wizard. And yes, this multiclass means that they're the backbone of the Hellraisers, in both healing abilities and crazy spell shenanigans. Everyone's a tiny bit scared of them, which they don't understand---from their perspective, they're just an awkward nerd who's passionate about their interests. Luna also plays the keyboard in the Go-Ghosts, inspired by years of tinkering around on the piano in Mordred Manor.

Marsh Runecarver (he/him): Marsh is from a Goliath family, but having an Archfey warlock for a dad has resulted in him being a Hexblood. He started school about a year later than normal due to his fey nature manifesting at an early age, so he's a bit older than the rest of the party---and definitely wiser. Marsh is a Circle of the City druid, and he's got a kind of laid-back, solarpunk vibe to him, which definitely lends well to him kind of being the unofficial older brother of the Hellraisers. Funnily enough, Marsh is also popular, in the sense that he's really nice to everyone, remembers everyone's name, and gets along with people really easily. He's also a fantastic bass player.

Arko Spitz (they/them): The party’s resident “little guy,” Arko is a goblin and a Battlesmith artificer, who uses their skills with tech and robotics for... well, a number of things. For one, they're a theater techie who started out manning a spotlight and quickly graduated to running and programming the lighting board, and they've also designed some special effects. For two, Arko's inventions have proven invaluable, either in combat or when there needs to be spying done. And for three... they have a well-earned reputation as the greatest prankster that Aguefort Adventuring Academy has ever seen. They don't even have the wild "class clown" energy, they just like to make robots and do crazy things with them to see if they can. The academy waits in anticipation and dread whenever the word "hypothesis" comes out of Arko's mouth.

Roshini Gupta (she/her): Captain of the cheer squad and high-femme lesbian icon, Roshini is a fire genasi and the Hellraiser's third multiclass---well, she's mostly a Sun Soul monk, but she's also got a few levels of Genie warlock in there (and yes, her patron is her parent). She's well aware that she's the only prep in a party full of alternative oddballs, but she doesn't mind at all, and she's always very supportive of everything her party members get up to. Like, Roshini will attend every Go-Ghost gig, pick out supplies for every hare-brained scheme that Parker and Arko are planning, help organize every Green Team event with Marsh, and so. Much. More. Roshini believes in bringing the cheerleader spirit to everything she does, so much so that the Hellraisers have joked that she should take a level of paladin.

I feel like i should add like a timeline to this cause its kinda everywhere and im ignoring some of the canon stuff mav did between 86 and tgm, in my head he became a test pilot in like 2006? and thats basically the only thing he does so he can be with slider more and thats around the time ice stopped flying so also when slider became an airline pilot. idk when slider retired or if he even did yet but after mav flew the tgm mission he retired but he does still fly his p51 in airshows and if the navy needs him hes still a civilian test pilot

They did matching outfits once and every time they looked at each other they started giggling so they never did it again (on purpose that is)

when slider was in the navy he was bigger than most of the people there, he had a lot of muscle and not a lot of fat, when he left he did keep up his workout routine and he started eating better because he had more access to food, hes still mostly muscle now but he has a healthy layer of fat on him too.

When mav was younger his mom was a great cook, he loved to help her in the kitchen but after his dad died she just stopped, she barley ate, she did make stuff for mav but never let him help and she didnt make it with love like she would before, she wasnt happy. After she died and when mav was going from foster home to foster home he never had something stable, he had a weird relationship with food, it wasnt bad necessarily, he didnt not like eating, a lot of the time he had to make food for himself but it just wasnt as good as it could be. While in the navy he was average i guess? he had muscle but it wasnt super defined and he wasnt the biggest fan of cardio when he first joined so he did have a little fat. (while being a test pilot you have to be like better than in perfect shape but im ignoring that) he has more muscle than he did before but now that hes not flying in action as much he has more time to get back into cooking and he loves it, it feels like when he was cooking with his mom again and it has a lot to do with slider, slider loves him and he loves the food he makes, mav definitely has a little tummy now and slider loves how soft he is, theyre both still in great shape now, they love working out and being active (in many ways 👀)

Agent Rainbow's Daycare Chapter 9

As the sun peaked its head up and the squeaking of the floorboards could be heard.Surprisingly everyone was bright eyed and bushy tailed,well except for a tiny lighthouse keeper who kept faceplaning into the table."Alright kiddos guess who made pancakes ... .with sprinkles!" Rainbow was cheerfully awake and had the tiny therapist helping him cook breakfast.

They all cheered in excitement."Can you be a little more quiet kiddos, Tonia is still asleep and well we don't need her to have a hissy fit now do we?" Rainbow spoke with a quiet tone to his voice."Yes Mr Rainbow." The kids said in unison.

As they were given their breakfast and devoured it all.They all,cleaned up any mess and cleaned their plates."Alright kiddos who want to explore the first floor,a magical occurrence may have happened last night." Rainbow smiles."Sounds interesting, a magical Apartment? Hmm might need to conduct another inspection." Lucas nodded to himself."I think you need to shut your hippy mouth." Max punched Lucas's shoulder."Boys, no fighting, we don't need any broken bones or hospital visits.Cause Mayer has your medical papers and if they see you all small like that ... .they could take you away and do bad medical experiments on you all and that's not good." 

Rainbow paused halfway down the hall.looking at the group of kids who looked back with fear."Just please don't fight…..Alright?" His voice shook as he said those words.The kids looked at each other with fear and concern for Rainbow.

They all ran in front of Rainbow and hugged him.He kneels down and smiles."thanks kiddos." "Holy cow this place is magical!" Max looked in awe.An excited Virginia carefully grabs Rosemary's hand."Rose! We get a shared room! Come On let's go check out our room since we are sharing!" They both run off to check out their shared bedroom.One half of the room had a princess dollhouse theme and was purple and the other was a dark blue and  light blue color with a science theme to it."Woah! This is awesome! It looks so pretty!" They both giggled and looked around the room.

"Lucas, come on, let's go check our room,hope it's cooler" Max and Lucas walked to their new shared rooms and they were amazed.On the left of the room gave off Lucas's cabin vibes with the camouflage and military banners on his side.Max's was more truck themed.His bed was almost like a racecar bed,only it being a truck,with red flannel blanket and a bull skull that hung over his bed."Not bad,gives off the military vibes pretty well." Lucas nodded in approval.

And last to check their sharing bedrooms was Allen and Desmond.One half of the room gave off a lighthouse vibe with a boat bed and a lighthouse bookshelf and nightlight.And the other was more therapist office but if it was a bedroom,with a desk at the bottom where the bed had stairs leading up towards the bed with a cat blanket and a small plush cat bed for Desmond's cat plush.

A few hours went by fast as the all looked around in their new rooms.Including Rainbow who has a detective spy like style room with a hidden bar at his desk.He was curious and peaked into Tonia's room.It was a full white and pink colored Rococo style bedroom which looked like a good dream type bedroom.which gave off a comfort warm welcome in vibe.

Rainbow went to gather the kids for lunch but they were too excited after the room tour, they tuckered themselves out.He made sure they were all in bed,tucked in and asleep before their lunchtime.

"Not bad Rainbow" Tonia had snuck up on the government spook."Tonia!? How…. I mean hi,did you sleep well?" "Yeah,I did.I see you put them down for a lunchtime nap." Tonia smiled."Yeah gotta have them rest up and hyped up for lunch and dinner,then tucker them out again before bed." Rainbow yawned leaning on the door to his room.

She kinda reminds me of those grandma cookie tins that sometimes get used for holding sewing equipment, or this one soup and sandwich place I went to years ago that gives you a chocolate-dipped strawberry with your meal!

Some kinda floral tea (maybe butterfly pea since it can change from blue to pink if you add something acidic like lemon juice?) served with buttery crumpets!!

Maybe the crumpets have her face stamped on them, or you drizzle it with honey and put ground up green pistachios through a stencil so it's in the shape of her wings, or something like that ouo

Not a food but this place definitely serves some drinks with silly straws, or you can ask for one instead of a regular straw :D

I couldn’t cover everyone you guys asked me for in one post, else we’d be here for a while! I picked a few of the top mentions, and a few to add a bit of contrast to hopefully hit as many styles as possible! I threw in a few of mine too as a bit of self-indulgence, but I hope you guys appreciate them too!

Old Hollywood: Marilyn, Audrey, etc.

I saw quite a few Marilyns and Audreys, as well as Ava Gardner and a Grace Kelly or two. I decided to group them together, but let me know if you’d be interested in a more extensive deep-dive.

To me, the thing that’s going to set you apart as vintage Hollywood is hair and makeup, especially a victory red lip, but that’s not my area of expertise, I confess! I also didn’t want to say “just wear vintage and vintage-inspired, duh,” because that’s cheap. I’m going to try to break down the looks.

Common elements are all designed to emphasise and create a traditionally feminine silhouette such as something to emphasise the bust and decolletage, cinch the waist, and skim the hips- be it pencil or flared at the skirt. Of course, this speaks to the times, but it can be recreated in daywear and nighttime glam by recognising the shapes you want to create. Ideas: a halterneck, a long-line necklace, a sweetheart or bardot (fitting) that reveals the decolletage. Pencil skirts and flared circle skirts are equally vintage, but we do not talk enough about a pretty little short/skort/romper situation.

But let’s also just normalise wearing big, fluffy robes that look like we murdered our fourth rich old husband as an appropriate outfit to buy groceries in.

Y’all are educating me, this was a fashion queen I was not familiar with and I’m interested. I’m going to be basing this off of what I see on the images tab, though, so I don’t know how accurate this will be!

She seems to have such a classic, pretty style that goes everywhere from the fashion girly uniform from a few years ago, to classic tumblr, to all the k-pop staples. She’s reminding me of Lara Jean Covey. What I’m largely seeing is a lot of tailored shorts, big poofy white blouses, and pastels. She seems to be in pink a lot, so she’s after my heart, and I’m seeing a lot of varsity stripes on socks, hems, etc as well as denim, especially shorts.

The elements I would use to emmulate her style would be some nice pairs of shorts- pastels and denim, perhaps- and black. I’m seeing frilly white blouses so a range with long and short sleeves and different details such as collars. My blackpink heart! I’m happy. Her style is so ranged from like, that baddie kind of style to the Chanel. To me, I feel like black and white together can play into both of those styles, as well as a good pair of denim jeans. I’m also seeing bows coming up a lot, be it a pussycat bow on the top, a gorgeously big bow that takes up most of her top (I’m sure you’ve seen the iconic ‘fit with the pretty purple cardigan), and you can even do one on the hip on a skirt.

If you really want to emmulate Jennie, you could go a long way with a big gold buckle to look like the Chanel buckle… or get a real Chanel belt, I’m not stopping you. Pearl details are my favourite and also add to the classic Chanel look. Tweed goes a long way too.

I am consistently seeing black and white, with the casual side being a striped tee with baggy jeans, and the more classy side being matching Chanel sets.

You can find nice cardigans that dupe Chanel sets, and a simple skirt matching the contrasting colour can have a classy look.

Megan Thee Stallion

I’m not that familiar with her, but I know she eats red carpets for breakfast, and I stan. I’m going to use that as my main inspiration because I must say, I worship it.

I think that, in order to take inspiration from Megan Thee Stallion, you should go for bustiers, camisoles, and other pieces that take inspiration from lingerie, especially either in black or a very bold, strong colour like a vibrant orange or gold. You can go full red carpet with a long, sexy dress, but day-to-day wearing something that highlights your favourite parts of your body to show off such as a bodycon skirt or tight-fitting jeans.

Despite the oppulence of the dresses, the shoes, while usually high heels, tend to be quite simple and elegant and easy to dupe.

I’m seeing also this stunning black blazer from the 2019 VMAs with silver stud detailing. It’s paired with matching socks and black boots. You can find leather blazers, studded leather jackets etc and for a casual look, you can go for a black skirt or shorts with boots, and for a glam look, something with silver sparkles.

We’re all thinking of the heart hoodie, so let’s start there. Given the surge of this kind of pattern in the past few years, this is probably pretty replicable. It can also be applied to blouses, sweater vests, and anything else you’d like for more of an influence than a recreation.

For the rest of her style, the key elements are cropping and/or low-rise- basically, we’re showing off skin around the midriff or stomach. She has another pink moment, but to me the key colour has to be a dangerous shade of red from the lovehearts to the fishnets… ....to the blood… Maybe we try to emmulate the blood instead of recreating that exactly- but more power to you if you go out and buy fake blood and make it part of your normal routine. Anyways, the fishnets are a nice little nod, as would a lacey texture, or like a pattern overlaid over another colour- she tends to wear a lot of black and white, so its one to consider.

My favourite moment is the long white dress (again, DRENCHED in blood) which I would nod to with a white blouse or skirt with a black bow detail and white accestories- or just go for it with gloves.

Hillary Banks

You’re not getting away without a hat for this one. The Hilary Formula is repeated regularly and its a 90s power suit moment. She wears short skirts, usually pencil skirts, with bold shoulder-padded blazers and a funky little hat. Rinse and repeat that, and you’re doing it, baby. I associate her with red, but anything strong and striking will give the effect you want, ideally in just as eye-catching a pattern.

She’s also a huge jewellry kind of gal, so more is more on this one- the gaudier the better. Gold, flower accesories, bold stones; rings a-plenty, earrings for the gods, and a chunky gold necklace.

You can modernise Hilary too because the look doesn’t go out of style, it just evolves. Personally, I would change up the blazer a little to a more modern silhouette. To me, that’s more tapered at the waist and less-boxy. If it were me, I’d go for a little bit of a shorter skirt. You can lean a little towards Cher and Dionne to keep it in the same decade, but slightly-less aggresively 90s.

But you must keep the hats. You will not change my mind.

Lady Gaga

This one was tough because her outfits range from aliens and Venus to red carpet glam. I feel like for Lady Gaga, there are still a few elements that you can go for like platform shoes, and geometric, angular pieces like shoulder pads or asymmetery but the main thing is pushing the boat out and trying new things.

But the simplest way to do that is looking into subversive basics. Try cut-out details, angles, jeans that button on a diagonal, and pushing the norm just slightly.

Lady Gaga’s big fashion thing is making it into art, a performance. Find pieces that feel creative and out there and try new jewellry, big chunky platform shoes, studs and details, and something that adds a bit of spice. Even if you add a neon earring to a plain black outfit, you’re pushing your own comfort zone.

Figure out what makes you feel not just confidant, but like a work of art.

This woman is my biggest fashion recs, the way she plays with fashion is so inspirational to me, even if its not that I want to to copy her literal style.

She layers and accesorieses like nobody’s business and blends different elements like J-fashion, K-pop influences and girly cartoons. The key aspects of her style are use of colour-co-ordination, layering pieces, and accesoriesing, but her range is truly everything from pastel princess to Misa Amane.

Sweater vests, harnesses, mini skirts, platform shoes, and leg warmers are huge aspects of her style, and the big go-to is colour co-ordination and theming outfits aggresively.

Regina Mills, Once upon a Time The Evil Queen of my Heart, Regina is always ready for mayoral duties, or murder depending on where the mood of the day takes her. Then there’s also the fairytale dresses that I dream about, honestly.

I’m going to need a collection of structured, elegant blazers and trousers, dresses, and skirts, and a bustier or two… or twenty in the theme colours of black, blue, purple, and red. I might swap the red out for pink for my own preferences but my eyes have already glazerd over daydreaming about her wardrobe. I have an eye out for some under-knee black boots.

In the Enchanted Forest, outfit inspiration comes from her tight corseted bodices, dramatic collars and necklines, murderous heels, and playing with txtures- leather, lace, and velvet come to mind.

Real-Life Princesses (Diana, Meghan, Kate etc)

Diana is back in public consciousness after The Crown, and for me, I love a good university sweatshirt to add a bit of academia to even a casual look. My favourites are also the masculine button-up shirts and structured trousers or jeans that read very old money. While I personally plan on swapping my colour palettes out a bit, true Diana styling would be neutrals with the shirt in white or perhaps blue jeans. For shoes, loafers.

She also had a fabulous elegant style featuring evening dresses and business-ready suits. This to me is the real-life princesscore standard. Daywear is often a blazer or jacket matching a knee-length dress underneath and usually neutral heels. This kind of look has been seen on Diana, Kate, and Meghan, and around the world on Princess Martha Louise of Norway, Princess Haya of Norway and Princess Mako of Akishino. Let me know if a full analysis of real-life princess fashion would be interesting to anyone!

Let’s talk about the details of the Revenge Dress, because that’s what we all really want to look like at all times: Its black, off the shoulder, draping in a bardot-style neckline below her shoulders and dipping into a sweetheart and drawing attention to the collarbone and cleavage.

It is asymmetric, wrapping tightly around the knees at an angle and creating an almost-slit. The shortr side plays host to the billowy drape of a diaphonous fabric.

She’s wearing pointed-toed black shoes, and a hardcore pearl choker with the most stunning sapphire by the looks of it…

This look deserves the long-lasting attention its had, it is genuinely stunning and is giving me so much inspiration.

Nope! Only on very special occasions, and even then it's usually just mascara and maybe some lip tint. I don't like wearing it and honestly think it's overrated - especially among teens and tweens.

Are you looking for laid-back-and-chill vibes? Dordogne is your pick. With its unique graphic style (a hybrid of watercolour and pastel painting) enhanced with a smooth narrative and storytelling, this title deserves your attention as a great indie game. On surface level I thought the game was merely focusing on story and the player did not have much engagement, but I was wrong because the game teaches you so many mechanics that you are constantly interacting with the world you find yourself in. Depending on scene, the game employs both 2D and 3D environments and movement, for example if it’s only a cutscene and there is not much engagement from your end, it is 2D, when your movement and interaction is prioritized it is 3D. 

Not to give any spoilers: you are playing as Mimi, an adult woman who lost a family member and her job recently and returns to Dordogne, a summer house, after all these years to find solace in memories and recollections of the past, diving into nostalgia, coping with her current loss thanks to joyful and golden days. From time to time, you experience flashbacks as young Mimi and the game successfully presents you a dual-world to you. Throughout the game, the narration progresses through flashbacks, belongings, and most importantly letters you come across in the house, please do not just skip the letters because they’re most heart-felt letters you can read in a game. One last thing: the present time is 2002, and flashbacks do take place around 70s. So there’s a wide 30-year gap between adult Mimi and young Mimi. 

Dordogne makes use of point-and-click game mechanics as well, and I must confess, the interactions with items is top-notch, it is so detailed, meticulous and you can be thorough with them. When you grab an item, the game enables you to tinker with it. For example when you are to open a door, you move your cursor over the doorknob, hold it there, and move your thumbstick as instructed, as if you are actually opening a door. It is not just “click A to open the door”, you are putting yourself in role of Mimi and opening the door. It works excellently and obviously the developers spent enough time to make sure when you’re engaging with an item the player does not feel “but this is not player-friendly at all”. 

For instance, in the video below you can find that, you are unpacking you luggage with each item there’s interaction and dialogue with the clothes while you are organizing them in a drawer:

You bump into some collectibles as well, which are stickers for your journal. Also, there’re player-focused dialogues choices too, what you prefer to say has effect on your vocabulary that you can use to write poems, you can see at 00:27 the words I chose. I did pick “I hate here” when I was talking to my grandma, and I can use it to write a specific poem line about it:

Player-centred dialogue mechanic is put into the game so well that I am really impressed, such as the moment where you’re having a breakfast with your grandma and you reflect how you feel with the food you are going to eat, such as “sweet”, “bitter” etc. Your decision-based engagement is combined with the items in front of you so smoothly. 

Dordogne is a must-experience for all indie and narrative-heavy lovers, it is touching, warm, down-to-earth, and sincere.
