Rohini & Ashlesha ruling over, "The Siren Archetype"

Siren means a seductively beautiful or irresistible woman, especially one who beguiles men with a alluring voice but is also very dangerous.

I observed for the past few months of female celebrities who are considered to be "Sirens" and the two nakshatras that arose the highest in a lot of these women big 3, big 6, atmakaraka, lagnesh, or ascendant lord were Rohini and Ashlesha! In my opinion it 100% makes sense because Rohini and Ashlesha are known to be the most seductive nakshatras.

Rohini is naturally a seductive and alluring nakshatra, they have a huge amount of magnetism and irresistibility. Many perceive them to be docile and innocent which is a little true but at the same time Rohini individuals have a beguiling dark side and it's shown through fashion, makeup, and mannerisms. Their hypnotic snake-like eyes and allure will lure you in like a moth to a flame.

Ashlesha possess an tantalizing and enticing quality that's hard resist with a lot of people deeming them as incredibly sexy beauties. Their aura and the way they talk is very tempting almost attracting everyone towards them in just one minute. They already are rule the dark feminine aesthetic and the Siren eyed look, the gaze is hypnotizing and captivating. Ashlesha women are extremely powerful seductress.

Another thing that Rohini and Ashlesha have in common is the power attraction able to pull masses with ease due to their enthralling and entrancing talents and they're both connected to snakes which grants them seduction and hypnotism, but also snakes has connections to water too some snakes know how to swim and those that are born with snake yoni nakshatras can be excellent swimmers and sensual dancers. Snake nakshatras make great singers, they have breathy, sultry, and trance-inducing vocals. Both of these nakshatras tend to attract people that want to abuse, and take advantage of them because of their beauty, charm, and seductiveness. It's similar to a snake it'll be minding its own business just passing through and then all of a sudden humans or animals will catch hold of the its presence admiring it or immediately freaking out wanting to attack it, this is why snakes are constantly on defense mode from things and people that'll want to harm them much similar to Siren and her singing. Thanks to the venom that snakes maintain that is too used to protect themselves as well.

Before I finish up this post I'd like to add Ailyn here, she was a former singer in the Norwegian metal band called, "Sirenia" and when she was still in the group they had a album named, "Perils of the Deep Blue" that came out in 2013 with the cover image of Siren. All of the songs in the album is dedicated to Siren, Ailyn's singing and essence alone is reminding me of a Siren.

Jayce returns from the ruined future to fulfill his promise to Viktor, only to find him inconspicuously missing and his commune in shambles. As it turns out, his disappearance is the work of none other than Ambessa, twink hunter extraordinaire and connoisseur of only the finest local cuisine. And what cuisine could be more exquisite than the Herald of Zaun himself?

She isn't in the business of asking nicely, but perhaps a bribe is in order? After all, why ask when the stakes are this high, and you hold all the cards? A spicy meal just means more flavor, right? Jayce better hurry and find Viktor before she decides to have a taste and find out...

Chapter 1: Sectarian Drift

Note: I can only apologize for how long it took me to start this cursed project. I’ve been in the Jayvik trenches fighting for my life working on so many other projects all at once trying to find the time for this one because LOL! ALSO! This is going to be multiple chapters because PLOT, damn it.

The comune loomed large against the backdrop of the trenches, sparkling like a gleaming beacon of unearthly splendor amongst the squalor and dissidence. It was brilliant, reflecting the light and casting a divine halo across all that came within its circumference. A promise made in silence that assured safety and respite. As resplendent and beloved as its founder. A haven born of a genuine wish to better the community it sat within.

Beautiful.

And yet, it was quiet. So very quiet.

Approaching from a crevice in the side of the canyon that overlooked the encampment from the left side of the crystal dome at its center, Jacye stood silently. Readying himself for the descent. For the grim task that awaited him below.

An air of anxiety and despair filled the area as he proceeded. Everyone seemed on edge, as though their minds were focused on other more troubling matters. Or perhaps that was just his perception of them. It was a beautiful place, but something about the somewhat vacant stares that the majority of the inhabitants wore made his skin crawl. He felt a strong jolt of pain shoot through his body and slam into his head as he snuck through the village, causing him to buckle and clasp his ringing skull in anguish, groaning in pain. Fragments of undefinable light and sound slammed through this tired brain. Oh, how he longed for them to be simple figments of his imagination. But he had seen the horrors of that place. Of the waking nightmare brought about by their shared Hextech dream.

Using what little remaining strength he possessed to pry himself off the ground and back into a standing position, he continued towards the gleaming dome in the distance. Ravaged as his mind was by flickers of the truth of his environment, he pushed ahead, his heart racing as he was startled by the act of walking into a group of comune dwellers. He drew his weapon, aiming it at one of the misshapen creatures that stood before him. So clear in his mind and yet something felt off. He closed the maw of the corrupted Mercury Hammer, taking in the sight of a young boy before him. A shudder lurched up his body as his stomach turned. 

Another child. Not again. It was always a child.

Rushing toward the golden dome, he slowly made his way inside. A heavy sigh shuddered past his lips as he lifted the handle of the hammer, his back aching from the endeavor as he swallowed and readied himself for the brutality he would eminently commit. His body quaked like a weak branch in a storm at the thought of what he was about to do. Could he look Viktor in the eyes and watch as they dimmed, the life leaving his body as a direct result of his action? Would it be a merciful kill, one faithful strike that would serve as the guillotine for his execution, snuffing out his brilliance in a single, painless strike? 

Was it wrong to say he hoped so? He didn’t want Viktor to suffer. The last thing he’d ever wanted was to make Viktor suffer.

The more he pondered it, the less he wanted to. This had to be done. He’d sworn to stop Viktor, and this was the only surefire method of accomplishing that goal that he could fathom. No matter the cost to himself, he had to end things here and now. For the sake of the very city they’d always aimed to make a brighter future for by virtue of their shared dream Oh, how had it come to this?

He stepped through the dark passage and into the brilliant light of the central sphere. No doubt the place that Viktor would reside. He didn’t need to ask the members of the comune who their leader was. Who else could it be? To enshrine in them the virtues of blacksmithing and botany in the form of agriculture and construction, both branches of their singular interests. Viktor always had such a way with plants. It was no wonder that fragments of those interests should manifest here. Even the dome that had been constructed for him to take up residence in resembled the Hexgate. Their magnum opus. And a dark, golden reflection of that masterwork. A masterpiece that now threatened to destroy everything and yet the thing they’d put so many sleepless nights and priceless memories into the construction of. Oh, why had their beautiful dream been cursed from its inception? It had been such a beautiful thing once upon a time. But that felt like a lifetime ago now. Long before the pit he’d plunged into. Before the Hexcore. Before the cruel realities of the world had been laid bare before them. Better days.

But as Jayce stood at the heart of the comune, a sense of disquietude gradually trickled into him. This structure was… empty. There was no furniture. There were no decorations. No other entrances were apparent to him from where he stood. Instead, he was greeted with an unshakable sense that something integral had vanished from the place where he now stood. Something unspeakable was at work here. Something undeniably sinister.

Retreating the way he’d entered, he stepped out into the blinding daylight, his head slamming yet again as he felt his stomach lurch. With willpower alone, he managed not to collapse and vomit, instead steadying himself and using his free hand to rub his face and scalp in an upward motion, shaking his head back and forth as if to rid himself of the kaleidoscope of colors and sensations that plagued his troubled mind. Would these attacks ever stop, or was this another aspect of his self-made hell? Only time would tell, and the capacity for optimism has long since left him.

A man with short, shaggy reddish-brown hair approached him in much the same way that one would approach a manic dog; with an abundance of caution and a low, gentle voice. He seemed sympathetic and worried, but vaguely displeased by what he saw.

“Please, sir. This is a place of peace. Of rest. I’d ask that you-”

Jayce sighed. Ah, so that was what this was about. Still, as taken aback as he was by the request, he understood. No one here seemed to be armed. It was impressive that he’d approached someone as potentially dangerous as he was at all, with that reality taken into consideration. And judging by his face, this wasn’t the first time it had happened.

“Where’s Viktor?” He was tired. He didn’t mean to come off as curt to the man, but he was operating on the vestiges of the adrenaline that he’s costed on to make it this far. He didn’t have time for this. He couldn’t delay lest he come to his senses and lose his resolve. Remaining diligent was his only recourse against the nightmare that unfolded around him.

The man shifted into a more formal position, clasping his fingers together behind his back as he did a half-decent job of concealing how thrown off he was by Jayce’s wild-eyed stare and his feral demeanor. To look into his amber brown eyes was to delve into the depths of madness itself, and to do so unflinchingly took resolve. A resolve that Jayce would have admired if he’d been cognisant of just how out of sorts he appeared. He had some concept, but no concrete idea of just how deranged he appeared.

“Our Herald… He has gone from us. To where, we do not know, but… “ He admitted sheepishly, unable to hide the tinge of sadness and concern in his voice.

Jayce’s pupals momentarily widened in surprise before he let out an exhausted huff. He didn’t need to ask the man who stood before him if this was typical behavior. It wasn’t. Now the uneasy air about the commune made perfect sense. They’d misplaced their messia.

“But?”

The robed man with the auburn hair looked from side to side, hesitant. He did not wish to speak the words that he was about to speak. “He vanished not long after the Noxians arrived.”

“I see.” He suddenly felt eyes on his back. The Noxians. He’d seen a handful of them on patrols as he’d ventured into the depths of the Undercity, but now it made better sense.  “Do you think he just left with them?”

There was no hesitation as the robed man shook his head, his eyes flickering and shifting in rainbow hues. There was a seriousness that had not been there moments ago. All sense of diplomacy evaporated as he leaned in just a smidgen, keeping his voice low as he sighed and shook his head again, this time more vigorously than before.

“I would not like to make accusations but… they entered one of the domes. The conservatory over there that our Herald so often frequents…” He gestured towards a domed structure not far from where they stood. The emerald stained glass that its roof was partially constructed with appeared to be mottled with holes as a means to invite fresh air and sunshine in. “ I saw them carry something out. Not long after a transport of some sort left here.”

Viktor always had such a way with plants…

Now things were starting to add up. But at the same time, they genuinely weren’t. Judging by the sense of unease that enveloped every particle of air in the commune, Viktor’s sudden disappearance was as unannounced as it was ominous. This was out of character for him. Everyone who hadn’t seen something was still suspicious, but they were keeping as quiet as possible about it. To maintain an air of normality, if ever such a thing existed in the first place.

“No one tried to stop them?”

“As I said, this is a place of peace. Our Herald was very clear that there would be no violence within the walls of our sanctum. Not even for his sake.” He looked down at the ground, disheartened. His concern for their wayward leader was more apparent than ever.

Jayce eyed him linguistically, making a mental note of the markings that covered his face. They looked like… fingertips. He noticed the pattern that the flowing metal patchwork on his body took; how much of his body it had covered. His condition, whatever it had been, had seemingly been mended by Viktor’s influence. To the extent that the Arcane mended anything. But if his faith in his savior was a result of this treatment, then he couldn’t help but understand. And wonder if Viktor truly understood the ramifications of what he’d done to these people.

They seemed content. Happy, even. But something was just missing from them.

“Uh huh,” He nodded, clenching his jaw and squinching his eyes shut momentarily as another disorienting wave of incomprehensible arcane energy pulsed through his frayed mind, fragmenting it further. He huffed in frustration as it passed, shuddering as he slowly reopened his eyes one at a time and fixated them on his conversation partner.

What had happened here?

“I am genuinely sorry for the Herald’s absence, as I am certain he is as well. I’m sure he would be more than happy to help you with… “ The commune member gestured vaguely towards Jayce, unsure of how best to describe his current condition. But his conviction that anything that might be ailing Jayce could be addressed by their wayward leader was as unsurprising as it was founded. From what the tired man could make out, everyone here seemed to have been touched by the arcane. Touched by Viktor. By the Hexcore and whatever terrible will it wished to exert upon these people. He wished he understood what was going on here.

It was time to get some answers.

“Where are the Noxians?” Jayce would start with the obvious culprits. It wouldn’t be as simple as waltzing up to their door and politely asking for his missing partner’s whereabouts, but… “And how long have they been here? How long has he been gone?”

“Since this time yesterday on both accounts. Give or take a few hours for their arrival. They have an encampment nearby, but I must advise against visiting it. They are well armed and you appear to be… alone.”

Jayce grumbled under his breath, huffing heavily in annoyance as fatigue set in faster and faster due to how long he’d been stationary. Yes. He was certainly that. Alone.

That being said, nothing about this situation sat right to him. What were the Noxians doing down here at the bottom of the trenches? And what could they possibly want with Viktor? Viktor who didn’t so much as entertain the notion of violence, let alone participate in it. Nothing about that had changed during his absence. If anything, his pacificism had seemingly been doubled down upon to the point of it actively endangering him. Their presence there was so out of place. Had they ventured to this place in search of something else and he’d simply been a casualty along the way?

He exhaled heavily. It didn’t make sense to him. What value could Viktor in particular have to…

The reality of the situation hit him like a stone to the back of the skull.

Ambessa.

Mel had warned him about her involvement with the higher houses of Piltover. About how she’d been attempting to maneuver her way into the good graces of its governing body through Salo. Salo who he’d made short work of at the gates. Who had shown him a small glimpse of Viktor’s newfound power upon his arrival back in his own timeline. Ambessa had tried as much with him not long before everything had gone so horribly wrong. She was the only person who he could imagine would make a play at Viktor specifically. But did she have the motive? Was she aware of his knowledge of Hextech? Who could have told her? The vast majority of the general public didn’t acknowledge Viktor’s existence, even less his vast contributions. Something that had always irked him on his former lab partner's behalf. Even if Mel was her daughter, he highly doubted that she would risk putting Viktor in such danger. Her relationship with her mother made that possibility even less likely. It hadn’t been her. But someone had brought Viktor to her attention one way or another.

They were a legion of war at the beag and call of the matron of the battlefield. Nothing was beyond her knowledge or reach. Her presence here proved as much. Who else would march a Noxian detachment into a place as inhospitable and unknown to the world above as the depths of the trenches? They had to be making a play at Hextech through Viktor.

It was the only motive he could think of. But then it wasn’t, was it?

Jayce remembered the first time he’d met Ambessa. She’d summoned him for a meeting in a bathhouse, of all places. A bathhouse where he’d been attended to by a young man who looked mysteriously like Viktor, if he was willing to be honest with himself. He’d nearly mistaken him for his friend at first sight. It was clear that she had a type, but surely…

For some inexplicable reason, he felt his blood boil at the prospect. He was there to confront Viktor and do what needed to be done, yes… but the prospect of him potentially being in danger, of someone being in a position to harm him. For him to be exploited for the nefarious ends of an insidious warmonger. He gritted his teeth in anger.

He needed to find Viktor. Now.

A shorter intro chapter than I normally do. Rest assured, the others will be longer. I’m not sure yet how long this story will be. It’s sort of a “it’s done when it’s done” situation in terms of chapter count. I’m thinking around 5 currently but you never know. Depends on how long it takes for Ambessa to make eye contact with Viktor lol! But I hope you’ve enjoyed it so far! If it’s okay could you recommend comics for the flash fam? I really want to start reading them but I have no idea where to start 😅

YES I ABSOLUTELY CAN ANON!! reading flashfam comics can change your life for the better fr, unlike batman comics which usually change your life for the worse. Flash comics are honestly very simple to get into? for the most part you can just pick which era you want to start with, hop on that mainline ongoing and read from there.

this got kind of ridiculously long (i ramble about flash sorry)

i am not by any means a well-read silver age fan so I'll just skip right over those LMAO. if you want to read barry's run i assume you can just read flash v1 up until crisis. if you're interested in reading wally as kid flash he's featured in backups throughout a lot of v1 iirc!

unsurprisingly, my number one rec for the flashfam would be the flash volume 2 (1987). it's got pretty much everything you need. it introduced the speed force, basically created what we think of as the flashfamily, reintroduced & created beloved characters, and built up wally into the loser we know and love today<3 at its core it's the story of wally's journey from the very start of his career as the flash, learning how to fill barry's shoes and be a grown-up. it starts when he's this insane cringe 20 year old loser and ends with him as a full adult who's married with two kids LOL. it does soooo much work for wally as a character it's unreal.

but to keep it real flash v2 is......very long. like Incredibly long. it is 200+ issues and ran for over 20 years. so i can break it down into some smaller pieces & try to provide a roadmap so it's maybe a little less intimidating

the bad news is that the first guy to start out on the run fucking HATED wally for some reason lmfao and it shows. it's painful to read. the good news is he only stayed for the first 14 issues lol so honestly you can just skip those and start at #15 where william messner-loebs took over. now......the messner-loebs era is also not perfect and can be a bit of a slog. I love it in the fond 'wow wtf was all that' kind of way but it is definitely not a masterpiece. there are a lot of unmemorable, bland (occasionally batshit & ridiculous) arcs and he introduces a whole army of mostly forgettable side characters. credit where credit is due there is a lot of good stuff in there, he set up some stuff that is foundational to flash lore (like LINDA!! and hartley!) but it's not for everyone. if you want you can jump in at #31, where wally moves to keystone, or if you read some of it and it's not for you it's honestly fine to just skip to #62 where waid's run begins. #62-65 are a flashback retelling of wally's origin story (basically flash year one) and it's sooo good. essential wally reading.

the waid run is definitely the best section of the comic. it's classic it's iconic it builds the flashfamily it creates the speedforce it introduces bart allen. it's phenomenal. if you are interested in characters like bart, the garricks, johnny & jesse quick, and max mercury they are all integrated into the flashfam over this run. if nothing else i would recommend reading this part. oh and SPEAKING of bart allen, he gets introduced in issue #92! he hangs out in flash for a bit, zero hour happens, and pretty soon after his impulse series starts in 1995.

this is my #2 flashfam rec! if you have been in these tumblr circles at all then you've heard us rave about impulse 1995. it's simply Thee comic of all time. everyone on earth needs to read it im not kidding. it follows bart's life living with max mercury and his daughter helen, trying to adjust to normal life in the past. it's just. it's the best. it's 89 issues long, but honestly it goes by SUPER fast. i would recommend doing what i did and reading impulse and flash in parallel, just to get that organic experience & context. they cross over several times until impulse eventually ends.

ok back to flash v2. once geoff johns takes over..... i mean i won't say it ruins the comic and there is definitely stuff worth reading but i love waid infinitely better. it's really up to you. waid also comes back now and then to write a few chunks.

the flash series doesn't end until 2008. the next big thing after would be flash: rebirth, which. i am not a fan of for obvious reasons (get back in that coffin barry) but it's essential to understanding the plot so i have to include it lol.

i honest to god have no idea wtf was going on during flashpoint & new52. I will not pretend to understand that era. however if you are interested in the modern flashfam & the introduction of characters like ace west and avery ho, there are a couple good places to start! if you want to read williamson's run, you can start at the rebirth flash run (flash v5 #1). wally is eventually reintroduced (thank god) during this run.

if you want to start at the jeremy adams run (which features lots of members of the flashfamily) you can start at flash #768, which runs all the way to #800.

I would personally recommend the current flash ongoing written by si spurrier! it is kind of a lot and I'm in the minority in my love for it but it's interesting, thoughtful, has a role for pretty much every character, and has a lot of really cool cosmic horror elements. i will concede that it is VERY complicated and technical but you can tell spurrier has things to say and honestly it's so rare that a comic makes me think these days that i'm eating it up.

there were also two recent flashfam miniseries that just finished, speed force and jay garrick: the flash! i enjoyed both. they're short and fun.

aaaand that's my list! it is by no means comprehensive and it is very possible i got some things wrong so I apologize in advance. if you have any more questions I will be happy to try and answer them. I hope this was at least a little bit helpful and not even more confusing lol!

a triple virgo is literally delicious. virgo is a beloved sign for me (my sister sign, it's a given i love her) but i think people sometimes forget how practical and functional virgo can be when it's allowed to thrive. there's a lot of anxiety that comes with virgo placements and their deep, inward perfectionist streaks but alternatively, i think sometimes this pushes the holder to go past their own limits and to break their comfort zone because virgo WANTS you to have a good life. she wants you to be happy and to live peacefully and to thrive. to be loved and give good, consistent love in return. she just needs that consistency above all.

i have a feeling you are probably a very intelligent, well spoken person (i mean i know this but let's pretend we're just meeting and ur at my little fortune telling shop) who has a reputation for being there when you're needed. you're probably pretty self critical and it can keep you from expressing yourself the way you'd like to or feeling comfortable in your own skin. depending on what your mars/mercury placements are, i would encourage you to embrace some of those traits to break past that virgo need to be in a box.

And as we walked, we were living and I didn't say half the things I wanted to. I've been holding back this feeling, so I've got some things to say to you.

I want you to know that you're kept somewhere in my heart, a secret place, where I will visit from time to time to remember what I didn’t know back then. These were the golden times. I want you to know this is a cheesy, cliché text, and that if we were in the Modernism era, like we studied in Renata's classes, I’d be screwed. I want you to know that at some point, you made my heart beat faster, you made the hypothalamus send a signal through the autonomic nerves, and the adrenal glands received the signal, releasing adrenaline into the bloodstream, making me feel alive. But this is no longer a science class. Goodbye, science classes. Goodbye, all classes in general.

Goodbye, feared but also beloved Alfredo. Goodbye, short lunches and lollipops bought in the cafeteria and shared. Goodbye, class group. Goodbye, little squabbles with not-so-dear people. Goodbye, PJ, or almost goodbye actually. Goodbye, "yas queen!" Goodbye to volleyball that I never played well in PE class. Goodbye to carefree games and bills that didn’t need to be paid. Hello, Hex Squad! Today I’m sharing some of my favorite alternative makeup brands to try in 2025. This is not an exhaustive list of every single alt beauty brand in existance, only the ones that I’ve personally shopped at and purchased from. All opinions, as always, are my own. All products are vegan except for Amunet Light and Amunet Dark. I’ve purchased the Cyborg Choir palette, which I adore. I was also sent the Element 115 in PR. I’m in love with Cyborg Choir! It’s a multi textured palette full of multichromes, holochromes, shimmers and blendable mattes. It’s vegan and does not contain talc, glitter, mica, oil or BHT. Aromaleigh Cosmetics Aromaleigh is an alternative OG makeup brand of artisan-crafted cosmetics and natural care products. Everything is handcrafted in small batches in the Blue Ridge Mountains of South Carolina. Cristiana opened in 1988 and they’re cruelty-free with many vegan options. I have been sent PR in the past. They are talc-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, and vegan. Baby Bat Beauty is certified cruelty free by PETA. Bellabeautébar Bellabeautébar, an alternative indie cosmetics brand, was founded in New York in 2018 but now operates out of Sarasota, Florida, about 90 minutes south of me. They claim to specialize in smudge-proof, water-proof, and lon lasting cosmetics with a mixture of handmade and manufactured items to have broad customer appeal. They’re Leaping Bunny Certified cruelty-free. Most of their products are vegan. I’ve purchased the Basic Witch Palette and absolutely adore it! It’s in my top 3 most used palettes of 2024. Basic Witch has 9 mattes, 2 holo-chromes, 2 multichromes, and 2 duochromes. It’s vegan, paraben free, and cruelty free, though the mattes do contain talc. I also bought Recently Deinfluenced and it is fantastic. I’ve never tried visiting their Sarasota location, as I don’t know if it’s open to the public. Black Moon Cosmetics Wearing Black Moon Armageddon, a sexy blackened red lipstick Black Moon Cosmetics is an awesome alternative makeup brand that makes beautiful highlighters and liquid lipsticks! Sleepwalker is my favorite black lipstick, and I wore it to my gothic wedding. Armageddon is my favorite blackened burgundy metallic lipstick. Black Moon is cruelty-free and vegan. They’re certified by PETA and Leaping Bunny. I have been sent PR in the past. Blend Bunny Cosmetics Blend Bunny Cosmetics was created by a makeup artist for people who love makeup that actually blends, is pigmented, and high quality. They are cruelty-free, vegan, and Leaping Bunny certified. I fell in love with Blend Bunny’s now discontinued Surge palette, but I’ve stayed with the brand for their cool-toned Lure Palette. The Lure palette is so perfect for neutral cool skin like mine! I love all the colors in it! Cosmic Brushes Cosmic Brushes by Fay is a UK beauty brand. I love the two palettes I’ve purchased from them. I have the Gothic Palette and the Cooltrals Palette. They’re affordable and cruelty free. Devinah Cosmetics Wearing Fairy Fire and Rain Tarts Devinah, founded by Deandra, is a west coast indie beauty brand located in Albany, Oregon. The beautiful name means beloved, divine, heavenly. Deandra creates handcrafted, affordable, high-quality hand pressed eyeshadows. They are cruelty-free and PETA certified. Most of their products are vegan. Additionally, their mica is ethically sourced and certified child labor free. I own so many eyeshadows from Devinah! Glam Goth Beauty Glam Goth Beauty is a black-owned gothic indie makeup brand from Los Angeles, California, founded by Marley Bloodrose. They sell glitter, glitter eye primer, eyeshadow palettes, clothing, jewelry, and more! I love that Marley says “We represent and support EVERYONE and celebrate the alternative and LBGTQ+ community because let’s face it, we are the future!” They are cruelty free with many vegan options. Half-Magic Beauty Half Magic Beauty was founded by Donni Davy, an Emmy Award-winning makeup artist and designer known for her work on HBO’s Euphoria. They’re cruelty-free and vegan. I love their lip pencils, glosses, and liquid eyeshadows. I wish they would release a cool-toned red iridescent gloss! Find them at their website and Ulta. Kaleidos Kaleidos is a cruelty-free brand founded by beauty blogger Zoey Pu, her boyfriend Tony Chen, and his friend Mark Henry. They are based in China and are commited to cruelty-free beauty. I love their eyeshadow palettes, highlighters, and eyeliners. They also recently released hair dye. KVD Vegan Beauty KVD Vegan Beauty feels like they’ve lost their vision as to who they are as a brand and who their target demographic is, but I love that they got rid of Kat von D. My favorite products are Dazzle eyeshadow sticks and lip pencils. They are cruelty free and vegan. I have been sent PR in the past. You can find them on their website, Ulta, and Sephora. Lethal Cosmetics Lethal Cosmetics is an awesome alternative makeup brand based in Berlin, Germany. You can also find Lethal at Camera Ready Cosmetics. My favorite palette that Lethal ever created was the 1UP palette. Lime Crime Lime Crime is one of the most controversial beauty brands out there. Once Xenia stepped away from the board, I felt comfortable reviewing them. I have been sent PR in the past. However, they haven’t released anything new since Christmas 2023.  Lime Crime decided to discontinue their makeup and focus on their hair dye in 2024. You can find Lime Crime at Ulta and Amazon. Lunatick Cosmetic Labs Lunatick Cosmetic Labs, founded in 2012, make excellent alternative spooky themed products for spooky people. They’re 100% cruelty free, talc free, paraben free, and vegan. They’re PETA approved. I have been sent PR in the past. Malagna Cosmetics Malagna Cosmetics is a Mexican alternative makeup brand that loves dark art beauty. Their products are cruelty-free and vegan. They foster a community of gothic and alternative makeup lovers, where mutual support, acceptance and respect are promoted among the entire legion. I was sent the Ocaso Palette in PR and I adore it, especially the purple glitter shade! Manic Panic Manic Panic is the OG alternative hair and makeup brand, and they’re best known for their hair dyes. I love the UV reactive shades! Their makeup is ok, but I had to include them because I love their hair dye. You can also find Manic Panic on Amazon. I dye my hair Pink Warrior because it’s the perfect medium cool toned neon pink for my hair. It’s also UV reactive!  Plus, Manic Panic donates 15% of the sale of each bottle of Pink Warrior to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. As a breast cancer survivor, this is important to me. They started with eyeshadow stacks at events like The Makeup Show, and now you can find them in Sephora. Melt is cruelty free and most products are vegan. They are also Leaping Bunny certified. My Pretty Zombie My Pretty Zombie is a fantastic spooky makeup brand that handmakes everything. They have gorgeous loose eyeshadows and blushes! They are cruelty free with many vegan options. They started out focusing on high-quality lipsticks and have expanded to eyeshadows. They have 32 lipsticks and 16 eyeshadows and pigments available. And they’re now selling singles! Necromancy Cosmetica is cruelty-free and vegan. I have been sent PR in the past. Rituel de Fille Rituel de Fille is a luxury alternative witchy makeup brand. They started making affordable cruelty free clean beauty products in 2006. I especially love their cream blushes, duochrome and multichrome loose eyeshadows, Slick Sticks, and Velvet Matte lipsticks. Notable Brands Not Featured Everyone has brands that they avoid for different reasons. I’ve removed Terra Moons, Vampyre Cosmetics, and Shroud Cosmetics from my list and no longer buy from them or feature them. Other brands I no longer shop from are Portland Black Lipstick Company, Notoriously Morbid, Chaos Cosmetics, or Menagerie Cosmetics. I’ve never shopped at Ensley Reign, Glamlite, or Unearthly Cosmetics and will not buy from them. Honestly, there are more brands I avoid, but they don’t belong in this article. I do also mention if any brands have sent me PR. About Face Beauty About Face Beauty is a cruelty-free and vegan beauty brand created by Ashley Frangipane a.k.a. Halsey. They’re formulated without phthalates, PFAs, parabens, BHA, BPA, retinyl palmitate, mercury or mercury-containing ingredients, resorcinol, urea, and formaldehyde. Find them at their website and Ulta. Adept Cosmetics Adept Cosmetics is an Asian-owned alternative indie brand founded in 2017 by wife and husband Sandra and Tom. They don’t test on animals and use upcycled packaging combined with second hand mirrors whenever possible on over 40% of their palettes. All products are vegan except for Amunet Light and Amunet Dark. I’ve purchased the Cyborg Choir palette, which I adore. I was also sent the Element 115 in PR. I’m in love with Cyborg Choir! It’s a multi textured palette full of multichromes, holochromes, shimmers and blendable mattes. It’s vegan and does not contain talc, glitter, mica, oil or BHT. Aromaleigh Cosmetics Aromaleigh is an alternative OG makeup brand of artisan-crafted cosmetics and natural care products. Everything is handcrafted in small batches in the Blue Ridge Mountains of South Carolina. Cristiana opened in 1988 and they’re cruelty-free with many vegan options. I have been sent PR in the past. Use my code CORDELIA to save 15%. Baby Bat Beauty Wearing Baby Bat Beauty Amulet Baby Bat Beauty is a Philadelphia-based alt gothic indie makeup brand. They are talc-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, and vegan. Baby Bat Beauty is certified cruelty free by PETA. Bellabeautébar Bellabeautébar, an alternative indie cosmetics brand, was founded in New York in 2018 but now operates out of Sarasota, Florida, about 90 minutes south of me. They claim to specialize in smudge-proof, water-proof, and lon lasting cosmetics with a mixture of handmade and manufactured items to have broad customer appeal. They’re Leaping Bunny Certified cruelty-free. Most of their products are vegan. I’ve purchased the Basic Witch Palette and absolutely adore it! It’s in my top 3 most used palettes of 2024. Basic Witch has 9 mattes, 2 holo-chromes, 2 multichromes, and 2 duochromes. It’s vegan, paraben free, and cruelty free, though the mattes do contain talc. I also bought Recently Deinfluenced and it is fantastic. I’ve never tried visiting their Sarasota location, as I don’t know if it’s open to the public. Black Moon Cosmetics Wearing Black Moon Armageddon, a sexy blackened red lipstick Black Moon Cosmetics is an awesome alternative makeup brand that makes beautiful highlighters and liquid lipsticks! Sleepwalker is my favorite black lipstick, and I wore it to my gothic wedding. Armageddon is my favorite blackened burgundy metallic lipstick. Black Moon is cruelty-free and vegan. They’re certified by PETA and Leaping Bunny. I have been sent PR in the past. Blend Bunny Cosmetics Blend Bunny Cosmetics was created by a makeup artist for people who love makeup that actually blends, is pigmented, and high quality. They are cruelty-free, vegan, and Leaping Bunny certified. I fell in love with Blend Bunny’s now discontinued Surge palette, but I’ve stayed with the brand for their cool-toned Lure Palette. The Lure palette is so perfect for neutral cool skin like mine! I love all the colors in it! Cosmic Brushes Cosmic Brushes by Fay is a UK beauty brand. I love the two palettes I’ve purchased from them. I have the Gothic Palette and the Cooltrals Palette. They’re affordable and cruelty free. Devinah Cosmetics Wearing Fairy Fire and Rain Tarts Devinah, founded by Deandra, is a west coast indie beauty brand located in Albany, Oregon. The beautiful name means beloved, divine, heavenly. Deandra creates handcrafted, affordable, high-quality hand pressed eyeshadows. They are cruelty-free and PETA certified. Most of their products are vegan. Additionally, their mica is ethically sourced and certified child labor free. I own so many eyeshadows from Devinah! Fairy Fire, Rain Tarts, Mystic Moonpie, Frozen Waves, Starfire, Fae, Salvatore, Esmaray, Centaurus, Scylla, Skyla, Luna Storm, Moonlit, and Thetis are my shimmers. My mattes include Ravens Frost, Tessa, Elysium, Gloom, Midnight, Zane, Virago, Patrina, Aria, Esme, Ethereal, Jox, Pandora, Suki, Darena, Crixus, Jaded, Elphaba, Patina and Karma. I also own and love the Phantasia Palette, as well as Prelusion eye primer, and Specular glitter glue. My most used colors are Fairy Fire, Rain Tarts, Mystic Moonpie, Salvatore, and Starfire. Glam Goth Beauty Glam Goth Beauty is a black-owned gothic indie makeup brand from Los Angeles, California, founded by Marley Bloodrose. They sell glitter, glitter eye primer, eyeshadow palettes, clothing, jewelry, and more! I love that Marley says “We represent and support EVERYONE and celebrate the alternative and LBGTQ+ community because let’s face it, we are the future!” They are cruelty free with many vegan options. Half-Magic Beauty Half Magic Beauty was founded by Donni Davy, an Emmy Award-winning makeup artist and designer known for her work on HBO’s Euphoria. They’re cruelty-free and vegan. I love their lip pencils, glosses, and liquid eyeshadows. I wish they would release a cool-toned red iridescent gloss! Find them at their website and Ulta. Kaleidos Kaleidos is a cruelty-free brand founded by beauty blogger Zoey Pu, her boyfriend Tony Chen, and his friend Mark Henry. They are based in China and are commited to cruelty-free beauty. I love their eyeshadow palettes, highlighters, and eyeliners. They also recently released hair dye. KVD Vegan Beauty KVD Vegan Beauty feels like they’ve lost their vision as to who they are as a brand and who their target demographic is, but I love that they got rid of Kat von D. My favorite products are Dazzle eyeshadow sticks and lip pencils. They are cruelty free and vegan. I have been sent PR in the past. You can find them on their website, Ulta, and Sephora. Lethal Cosmetics Lethal Cosmetics is an awesome alternative makeup brand based in Berlin, Germany. You can also find Lethal at Camera Ready Cosmetics. I have several magnetic stackable makeup palettes filled with my Lethal Cosmetics eyeshadows and blushes. I have been sent PR in the past. My favorite palette that Lethal ever created was the 1UP palette. Lime Crime Lime Crime is one of the most controversial beauty brands out there. Once Xenia stepped away from the board, I felt comfortable reviewing them. I have been sent PR in the past. However, they haven’t released anything new since Christmas 2023.  Lime Crime decided to discontinue their makeup and focus on their hair dye in 2024. You can find Lime Crime at Ulta and Amazon. Lunatick Cosmetic Labs Lunatick Cosmetic Labs, founded in 2012, make excellent alternative spooky themed products for spooky people. They’re 100% cruelty free, talc free, paraben free, and vegan. They’re PETA approved. I have been sent PR in the past. Malagna Cosmetics Malagna Cosmetics is a Mexican alternative makeup brand that loves dark art beauty. Their products are cruelty-free and vegan. They foster a community of gothic and alternative makeup lovers, where mutual support, acceptance and respect are promoted among the entire legion. I was sent the Ocaso Palette in PR and I adore it, especially the purple glitter shade! Manic Panic Manic Panic is the OG alternative hair and makeup brand, and they’re best known for their hair dyes. I love the UV reactive shades! Their makeup is ok, but I had to include them because I love their hair dye. You can also find Manic Panic on Amazon. I dye my hair Pink Warrior because it’s the perfect medium cool toned neon pink for my hair. It’s also UV reactive!  Plus, Manic Panic donates 15% of the sale of each bottle of Pink Warrior to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. As a breast cancer survivor, this is important to me. Manic Panic is cruelty-free and vegan, as well as PETA certified. I have been sent PR in the past. Melt Cosmetics Melt Cosmetics is an alternative beauty brand based in LA. They started with eyeshadow stacks at events like The Makeup Show, and now you can find them in Sephora. Melt is cruelty free and most products are vegan. They are also Leaping Bunny certified. My Pretty Zombie My Pretty Zombie is a fantastic spooky makeup brand that handmakes everything. They have gorgeous loose eyeshadows and blushes! They are cruelty free with many vegan options. Too much shit happened lately.

It’s one blow after another at my energy and my sanity istg….

First my grandpa died two weeks ago. The funeral was last Wednesday. He died peacefully in his sleep after he watched a tv church service with gods words which makes me happy, bcs he was a big church goer.

That Wednesday was the longest Wednesday in my life. 3h travelling to the city the funeral was. The funeral. The funeral lunch with close family. Chilling with family. Going 3 1/2h back with train. Arriving home late only to find my beloved cat in agony and meowing in pain.

I cried for several hours panicking not understanding what happened while I was gone.

He then calmed down a bit and didn’t meow anymore. He seemed in pain when he was walking around. He kept laying in the cold bathtub for relief.

Sunday we went to the veterinarian bcs he stopped eating and drinking water and stopped using his litter box…and the vet gave us the worst news possible…

He had renal insufficiency in the final stage. We had the choice to either try a treatment that wouldn’t have helped much bcs his values came out so bad that the machine couldn’t even give us the real results…or give him eternal rest and take away his pain…

So we were left alone in this vet room with our cat and our mom. We thought and decided. But it was the most painful experience and jarring decision we had to take.

I held him in my arm while he passed over the rainbow bridge 😭

Unfortunately renal insufficiency is so sneaky and there won’t be obvious symptoms until it’s too late and it’s chronic and it builds up until you can’t fix shit no more and I hate it how my cat masked everything so well until last week…when it was too late. Even if we in the past fed him a renal friendly diet bcs the vet recommended us bcs cats can get renal issues but my Findus , my silly goose, he would refuse to eat that diet that food…

So my beloved Findus died at age 4 and I’m tremendously sad and broken 😞

I ended up having a depressive episode and since my grandpa died I had a psychosomatic lumbago as a reaction to the shocking news and all…so I have a week off of work because I am in horrendous pain soul wise and body wise…

I can’t believe how mercury retrograde has taken my beloved cat 😭 It was the roughest mercury retrograde cycle ever in my life. Losing many loved ones and people I knew.

Like ok my grandpa was 92yo , I understand it was his time , still grieving nonetheless.

But my cat ??? My precious, my everything, my only thing in this life that was holy to me and I would have killed for if someone tried to hurt him 😭

It’s 4 day since he died and I still cry daily and I keep thinking I heard him and I call him and I dream of him and I go searching for him in the house :((

…and now Findus , my beloved Findi… only 4 years old…I hope he felt that I held him in my arms while he was passing and that I was there the whole time 😭

This is the ultimate Crossover of Mercury's Interests post, with limited explanation of what exactly I'm going on about on the medical drama side, but I've been having some thoughts about similarities between Atti/Orla and Sah/Teddy (my Casualty OTP).

I really do have a type when it comes to characters I obsess over, my Brainrot Characters™ of the past 3 years (Orla, Katherine, Teddy) are all following in the footsteps of a parental figure (Orla will have to lead the tribe after her dad, Katherine has gone into journalism like her father, Teddy canonically became a paramedic because of his aunt) and are far more similar to those parental figures than they realise or would even like to admit, and have loyalty/conflicting loyalties and duty as an important part of how I view their characters.

Orla and Teddy are even more alike - a bit impulsive with ambitions that mean putting themselves in danger to keep others safe, much to the despair of their overprotective parents, though they have other relatives who are more supportive of their warrior/paramedic dreams, they’re both ~almost~ Welsh. I also ship both of them with their best friends.

Yet, there's something so different about how I view Atti/Orla and how I view Sah/Teddy and I've finally figured out what it is. If you just put Sah and Teddy in Atti and Orla's place - Jan (Teddy's maternal-figure aunt) as the leader of the tribe, Teddy as her heir, Sah as their Roman prisoner he has befriended. Teddy would've sacrificed Sah. He absolutely would've killed them if Jan told him to. He'd feel really bad about it but he'd still do it for Jan's approval. It's just an extreme, ancient form of him taking Jan's side after Thin Green Line. This is more about pre-recent-events (Switzerland) Teddy and Jan, but even now with Teddy being mad at Jan, he's still so focussed on her and the rest of their family (Gethin) that it definitely played a role in his relationships with Sah and Paige falling apart in this recent miniseries because I don't think either of them understood what's going on with him (Gethin is Jan's ex-husband, Paige is Teddy's ex-fiancée). I guess I love relationships including characters that are really caught up in their family and familial loyalty and ideas of duty because you can have the dedication of Orla's "I will stand by my family in everything, but I'm choosing you over them" for Atti, and the tragedy of Teddy's "I have nearly died for you, but I'll still always choose my family over you" for Sah.

I also think the big difference is that Atti and Orla both do so many things to make sure they end up together. With Sah and Teddy, it’s like there’s always this imbalance. In series 36/early-37, Teddy keeps reaching out to and doing stuff for Sah and they keep pushing him away and by late-series-37/38 it has swapped over, Sah keeps doing things for Teddy and he keeps pushing them away. In Sah’s final episode it swaps all over again, with Teddy asking them to stay and Sah telling him they should just get on with their lives (unsaid but clear: “without each other”). It’s like: despite everything working against them, Atti and Orla both made sure they ended up together and despite every opportunity they had, Sah and Teddy were never willing to both give what it took.
