#might have just lost all my ipad data…. all my refs and art files….#i was literally working on the cutest piece when it locked me out and my password wasn’t working#i’m on recovery mode rn praying it didn’t wipe everything but i am not a lucky man most of the time :(#sucks enough to lose most all my references but god my art files too?#that’ll be all the unfinished 1d pieces i loved and was saving for a big wip dump gone….#all my old commission pieces…. my merch designs… my photo studies and digital sketchbook pages….#and my super recent pieces i was really proud of all gone :(#praying my art files are at least partially okay…. even if i lose my ref i can find a lot of saved on my socials#but god losing all those files is going to destroy me a little#especially because i’ve been in a good art mood for the first time in quite a while#hoping wishing praying etc everything will be fine!!

so one of my alt emails got broken into awhile ago. nothing really terrible happened that i'm aware of, i found out because i looked at my activity and saw a login from indonesia. which y'know. is odd because i live in the state of georgia.
naturally, i changed the password. problem solved, right?
WELL. it seems that this hacker had the foresight to look and see what my recovery email was before i locked them out. however, they do not have the password for said recovery email (which is my main email account) and can't get into it.
(i know because i checked the activity on that account to make sure)
however. in spite of not knowing the password and not being able to get to them. they keep sending A DOZEN ONE TIME CODES TO MY MAIN EMAIL ADDRESS A DAY TRYING TO GET INTO MY ALT EMAIL. this hacker is so determined to get into My Email Specifically that they are repeatedly sending codes to an email they can't get into.
it gives me the mental image of a hacker that is absolutely furious with me for changing the password on my email account and determined to get their revenge and it's honestly really funny
#color rambles | personal#i've debated changing the recovery email address but i'd honestly rather keep that particular alt connected to my main email#'cause i use that alt the most#and it isn't like there's been any successful login attempts since i changed the password (i checked)#it's just really annoying to have my main email spammed with one time codes lol
