Wow that’s not a smile, but that’s about how I’m feeling. We’ve started finals at #paschool, I finished my last actor scenario, and I’ve been sick on top of that. Plus all my old friends are gearing up for the #dirtykanza while I study and continue to take tests. I’ll be back someday to do ride the Dirty Kanza 200 again. Someday when I’m a PA-C and can afford my dream bike. I was on colorectal service, so I got to scrub in on lots of bowel resections. But also got to sneak into a few vascular cases too! The hours are incredibly long and my body is sore everyday! But thanks to Netter I’m getting through the pimping part! 💉Pro Tip💉 When preparing to scrub in on a surgery it is always good to know the blood and nerve supply to that area! Knowing the layer that are being cut through is also very helpful! Familiarize yourself with the anatomy of the area that will be operated on, as the majority of the pimping questions come from that. Welcome back to Monday everyone. We're back for another week of work or tough studying. I'm sure you've heard of the possibility of a title change for physician assistants. AAPA will be sending an online survey link via email to PAs and PA students in late March through AAPA.org. The survey is open to both AAPA members and nonmembers and will explore the role of PAs in the healthcare system, the profession’s perceived value, and whether the title reflects the profession’s true role and responsibilities. Make sure to change your email preferences on aapa.org's website to accept all email for product and services, which you can do in your email preferences. In a lot of specialities, we are doing so much more than assisting. It is time we have a name change that reflects what we do. Honestly this is going to help the stigma of the physician assistant profession so much more than what people realize. It would get rid of a majority of issues with the physician assistant profession.
