a hc that i have now just accepted in my mind as fact is that tkb and yami bakura are separate.

tkb: the sole survivor of a senseless massacre, who has so much pent-up agony and rage toward everyone that fed off the death of his people, that it called to a primordial god to use his hatred in their plans for world extinction.

yami bakura: zorc, the blood magic remnants of the millennium items’ creation, and the last shreds of tkb’s vengeful fury shoved into a blender and pulsed until reaching a smooth, paté consistency.

Totally random August thoughts, because apparently he’s decided to haunt my brain tonight.

Upon doing a lot of pondering and reflection, one thing I’ve noticed is that I’m pretty certain I only hated August because, aside from the obvious, I never really knew what exactly I wanted to happen to him? (I still don’t btw)

Like, I don’t necessarily want him to suffer for the sake of Justice™ because that’s not justice, that’s just vengeance (although, I can’t say I was totally mad at Wille for his actions towards August in s2, once I’d gotten over my secondhand embarrassment). I think, like @bluedalahorse said quite recently, the 3.01 opening scenes clearly showed that, if anything, going through the legal system in regard to August’s crimes kinda strips all three of them (August, Wilhelm, and Simon) of any real agency, with August being spoken for by his silver-tongued, annoying as fuck, stepfather without any real consideration for how he (August) feels about the whole situation. Wilhelm seemingly being expected to just sit quietly and not take sides, so as not to be against the crown or against himself and Simon. And Simon being spoken for by both his mother and that Law Dude (idk what his job was tbh) and being completely ignored when he originally tries to say that he just wants it all to be over.

But, for all I don’t see the crown as a positive thing, it almost feels like a reward for August? Like, sure, I don’t think he’d be happy as crown prince, and someday king, long term – but I don’t necessarily think he’d be ultra miserable (I say that and then I lowkey associate crown prince!August with Somewhere in Ann Arbor by Anson Seabra). He would have practically whatever he wanted, except for freedom and Sara. Honestly, I think it’s the fact that it’s what he’s wanted from the start that makes me feel weird about it. I just, personally, generally don’t want the “bad guy” getting what he’s always wanted at the end.

Also. I don’t view him as fundamentally and irredeemably evil, to be honest. I think he’s a bad person at present, but I don’t think he’s incapable of changing for the better. In fact, I honestly think he will attempt to grow and change post-s3, after Sara’s words and his expression when it sinks in that he’ll be the crown prince. Seriously though, someone had better get this man a good therapist post-s3, because he needs some Boris™.

Henry & the Spanish language

I fully believe that Henry does learn to speak some Spanish. Like, he doesn’t speak it well, necessarily, and he’s never fluent but he can hold a basic conversation and can piece together what someone is saying to him as long as he knows enough words in their statement. It’s a skill he finds helpful at his work at the shelters.

Also, Alex does not teach him so much as helps him practice. He does teach him how to swear in Spanish though. (I just don’t know how great of a teacher Alex would be.)

Their daughters are bilingual.

dimitri learned most of his duscur from dedue. dedue is from a working-class family from the duscur border. dedue's border-town working-class duscur accent is inflecting dimitri's Literal Royalty Accent faerghan, where most bilingual faerghans would be starting from a working/merchant-class west faerghan accent. never mind that learning a language from one (1) native speaker who is himself not fully fluent in your first language is going to result in a weird-ass idiolect by nature.

what i mean to say is that when diplomacy reopens, the king of faerghus can negotiate (& makes a point of negotiating) in duscur, but he sounds 1) like a hick and 2) fucking weird

So I posted a thing about how I'm the only person actively using Tumblr in Norway. Kind of as a challenge to the internet to correct me. And like, surprisingly, no one did.

So I guess I'm a real princess after all. Honorary, self-proclaimed title, of course. There is an actual royal family in Norway, and I ain't claiming to be part of that. But I *am* literally, as far as I can tell, representing the entire kingdom of Norway for all of tumblr by myself.

Mark today's date, yall. Or like, save this post. People had a chance to prove me wrong before I made it.

For the record I'm like genuinely doing my best to portray a decent image here, so to the 5.5 million people who live here, I hope I'm doing a good job. I certainly don't claim to know or represent what you think. All I can say is what I've felt like living here. And that's incredibly subjective. I never for a second thought I was alone here and the fact that I seem to be is low-key scaring me shitless. I've always had to represent people. I'm always the only black girl in my friend groups. I'm always the only American whenever I'm out somewhere in Norway hanging out. Never in a million years did I think I was the only person on Tumblr talking with the perspective of *actually living in Norway*

I'm definitely not going to freak out about this. I'm just going to go to work and things are going to be normal. Yup. Representing an entire kingdom to a worldwide internet community doesn't have literal political ramifications. And I've already been.... like all this time..

This is normal. Yes. This is something everyone goes through once in a while. Perfectly normal
